Aravis smiled at her cousin. "Well then I guess I could just introduce you to my fri- acquaintances. I know people! Like, um, I know Adam! Annnd I know...actually that's basically it. You already know Ava and Eri. We suck at friend making." Aravis said frowning once more. She wasn't even sure if Adam even liked her as a friend, much less a person. The black haired girl sighed. Although she did notice Verla wasn't there. Knowing that alone brought a smile to the cold girls face.

Aravis sighed before clicking her tongue in boredom. The black haired girl was quite a good dancer. Even though she couldn't freestyle to save her life she knew almost every waltz move in existence. Her Aunt had them drilled into her head for the parties they used to go to. Aravis didn't miss the stupid pure blood get together one bit.

She wondered why pure bloods were always so uptight and poised, they always had that pinched face where no one could tell what they actually meant. Either that or they were carefree and left all their emotions out for everyone to read and see. She was glad this dance wasn't so horrible. She had talked to people at least!

I will take what is mine with fire and blood.

Howie’s gaze followed Rosie’s towards Verla as she ran out of the Ballroom. An empathetic tinge of sorrow skipped through Howie’s chest. He wanted deeply to help their friend. Looking back down at Rosie, put that thought out of his mind for now.

His hands opened and closed, they too feeling oddly empty as well. Just hold her hand again. “Sounds like a plan.” He said, agreeing with her. Smiling at her, he accompanied her to the concession table. The array of treats was astounding, the house elves had outdone themselves. Howie reached down and grabbed a plate, filling it with a variety of snacks, making sure to get plenty of chocolate covered strawberries for her.

He broke his gaze away from Rosie, looking around the Ballroom. He recognized a few faces at the tables, all of which seemed to be quite full. Howie wouldn’t mind sitting down at one of them, seeing how everyone was enjoying the ball...but, no. Dancing with Rosie...and holding her hands had transported him into a world that was just for him and her. All of the other students suddenly felt like intruders.

“How about a walk down by the lake? It’s a beautiful night, we could take our snacks down by the water.”

“ Oh I doubt that very much Aurelia. For one thing my parents would of mentioned it and they never did. You still defend muggle borns regardless of what they have done. You are defending the muggle professor now who introduce this time wasting ball. Why Aurelia.. Why do you keep defending them “ Charles said in a dark voice as he folded his arms across his chest. He could not believe that the girl would still defend muggle borns. Still defend the professor who more than likely was a muggle or half blood decision to introduce this time wasting ball. He could not understand why at all, It made him sick to this stomach that someone would defend. Dirty impure blood.

“ The only enjoyment I get is from looking at the other students attires and making comments about how awful they look. let's start with you Aurelia. Surely you could of gone to this wasteful thing in a better dress. But then again.. I do not exepect a blood traitor to dress well “ He said with a laugh as he kept his arms folded. He was lying about the dress being awful but he refused to say that to the girl.No it was better if she believed that he hated everything and that her dress looked awful than to say that it looked decent. He was not at this school to make friends, He could care less about the other students and their feelings. A part of him thrived on the hate that others gave him. It was how he made it though parties that his father hosted. It was better if someone hated you than if they like you.

He faced Aurelia friend when he heard the girl say hello to him. “ Hello.. What is your name and blood status ?” he asked the friend of Auriela in a dark voice as he looked at her for some time before turning his attention back to Auriela. He began to wonder once again what was the true reason why he was at this forsaken ball. He could ask Aurelia.. But decided not too and just wait and see what happened. Who knows maybe he will have fun at this ball after all.. But only time will tell if that will be true or not.

~Responding to Katya Petrov and Kaegen Deathmote~
.。*゚+.*.。 ゚+..。*゚+.。*゚+.*.。 ゚+..。*゚+

He thought she looked stupid? Kaegen Deathmote, the boy who had shown up to the ball clad in black robes that were charred, his typical clandestine grey scarf, and an expression of utmost exhaustion thought she looked stupid? The notion was laughable, as Eris raised an eyebrow in indignation. Why would he call her stupid-looking, when he stood out more than Eris did in a room full of tall people? Smoothing her hands on the beautiful fabric of the dress, Eris had to admit that she felt a little stupid now that one of her best friends had called her stupid looking. Of course, it wasn't that much of a blow, when it came from the boy who gallivanted around, eating demonic Italian food off of the floor with unparalleled gusto. The boy who always wore the same scarf thought she looked stupid?

Sure, the dress was beautiful, but it was so uncomfortable. Smoothing her hands on the blue dress, letting her hands roll over the gold flakes, Eris's expression of indignation deepened, as she studied her friend. Hopefully Max wasn't going to show up in an outfit that horrible and than go roast Eris's own choice of outfit. Where was Max anyways? Was she supposed to meet him at the common room? Whoops. Hopefully he would known to come down and meet her. Eris had just gotten distractedwhile dressing up with her some of best friends, enjoying the motions of getting her hair brushed, and slipping into the extremely large blue dress.

Turning her thoughts back to the boy in front of her, Eris wrinkled her nose at his question. "I don't look stupid, you do. Kaeg, this is a party for people to dress up at! You look like you just rolled out of a fire before coming here."

Lowering her voice, suddenly concerned she had found someone even less educated upon social intricacies than herself, Eris's eyes widened. "Do you even know what this kind of ball is?" Careful to add 'this kind of ball', in the hopes Kaegen wouldn't reply with a comment about how he knew what a bouncy ball was, Eris raised her voice again, looking less worried.

Maybe Katya or Rhea could teach Kaegen what a ball was, and get him to change into better clothing that made him look less like a street urchin and more like a self respecting student of Hogwarts, instead of a boy with burnt robes, who looked straight out of some sort of wildfire. Such as the fire at the Hufflepuff Campout.

Than Eris noticed the form of another girl, just an inch or two taller, and recognized the ebony hair at once. Speak of the devil. Katya Petrov, herself. She looked beautiful in a green dress, hair done up in a bun. Trust Eris's mentor to show up looking beautiful and eloquent, already ruling over the ball like a true queen in story books. The other girl complimented Eris's dress, which made her beam from ear to ear, forgetting Kaegen's earlier comment about stupidity concerning her own outfit. If Kayta, the queen of cute dresses, liked her dress, that was good.

"Thank you, Rhea picked it out. Of course, she's the queen of ball gowns." Eris said in reply, excited about the fact that her mentor had complimented her dress. Letting the girl touch her hair, Eris managed not to flinch at the proximity, having gotten much better about being near people. Plus this was Katya, it wasn't like she was going to randomly turn into an animal and bite Eris, unless it was the full moon and Eris was stupid enough to come up to her. She was just a friend-type figure, and a helpful person, not someone going to hurt Eris.

Casting an apologetic glance at Kaegen, who seemed to be with another girl, Celynne or something like that, Eris let the Slytherin tug her away from her scarf-clad friend. Walking away from Kaegen, Eris kept looking around the ballroom, as Katya lead her to a table.

"My date is running late," The girl remarked, suddenly worried that Max had stood her up. Or was asleep. Both were possible, knowing Max. "Do you think he's still coming?" Eris muttered, having faith that Katya would know what to do. She was perfect, after all. She knew the answer to everything social related, being the perfect pure blood princess.

To Lucy and Blaze

Why couldn't he take his eyes off her! He must look like a creep, but he couldn't look away! So he did the only thing he could do, look down, it looked awkward but well, he is awkward. He realised he must have been acting really rude and well he wouldn't want to hurt her feelings so he looked up, making eye contact. She asked him two questions, he took a deep breath thinking, "Well, I didn't come with him but I'm pretty sure he has no idea that the Ball is actually today, I hope he comes through though, and I wasn't really going to but then my mum heard about it and sent me this tux by owl, so I figured I should come. And I got to see you so it was worth it."

As he realised what he had said his cheeks turned bright red, and he awkwardly looked down. As he stood there, his head facing the floor and his hands behind his back thinking about how his brain had made him say that he heard someone else approaching, then he heard his familiar voice and looked up, sure enough, it was his friend Blaze. "Hey," he said awkwardly, still bright red from before."We were just talking about you," he looked at Blaze who had no idea what had just happened, he looked up at Lucy and they made brief eye contact, he wasn't sure what she was going to do to him for saying that, so he looked at Blaze who had told him something a few seconds ago,

"Oh.. Yeah, thanks, you look great though, it really suits you" he smiled brightly at his friend but on the inside, he was scared about what Lucy was going to think now.

Have a nice day and peace out..

I’m not defending Muggle-borns. I’m defending people. Muggles, muggle-borns, half-bloods, pureblood, are all the same to me. They are people. If you’re were to insult one of my pure-blood friends I would do the same, no matter what status they are of.” the girl explained. The boy clearly had a neurological issue that needed to be fixed. He had his mind clinged onto his ridiculous idea of blood status like a starving dog with a stubborn head refusing to let go of a bone even though it had no meat on it.

Blood status or what ever you call that, I really don’t give a- I really don’t care about all that.” The girl corrected herself before the nasty word rolled from her tongue. Aurelia shook her head as the boy condemned on her gown. The boy was certainly a pessimist. She’d really like to shout at him, but managed to keep her emotions in check. The girl ignored his other comments about being a traitor. Other students were enjoying the event and there was no reason why Charles couldn’t.

It was a time for a celebration of the end of the school term. She wasn’t going to let a Slytherin boy destroy it. What was his problem anyways? He was full of hate and was never positive about anything. Maybe it would have been better if she had not sent the owl. But he was here now and the past was the past. And she had to live with the present.

Then he asked Winifrey on her blood status. As she had expected, Charles had asked a dangerous question that would probably determine the outcome of the conversation between them. Aurelia hoped this would turn out well. She didn’t want to spoil someone’s experience at her first ball.

At this moment, Winifrey was grateful for a friend like Aurelia. She had cousins, many cousins, that would fight with sticks and stones to defend her honor. But this was a different experience. It was someone she had known for not even a year and was defending her, even if it was for something as silly as blood status. The small brunette smiled softly towards her friend as her strong words shot back towards the hot headed boy. Someone who she was starting to greatly despise. Her patience was shrinking faster than a flying bludger and she was getting extremely close to punching the boy. She did not care if he was a foot taller.

“ Hello.. What is your name and blood status ?”

There were three things she could do in this situation. One was tell him her blood status. Of course, that was practically a death sentence in this situation as he was obviously hostile towards anyone who was not pureblooded. Whatever the hell that meant. So Winifrey quickly threw that idea out the window, even though she was curious to see his reaction. Would he kill her on the spot? Or would he simply talk her ear off about whatever he thought concerning her blood? Whichever it was, it would probably end in a very big mess.

Her second idea was to lie. But, no matter how much easier it was getting to hide the truth, it felt terribly wrong to lie about this. Almost like she would be locking her entire family in a chest and leaving it under her bed to rot and collect dust. The thought of it made her frown slightly. So that too was an obvious no from Winifrey.

Then the third choice was the last to make for the small brunette. That was to simply avoid the question altogether without batting an eye lash. In a way, she could show that she did not give a care about it, which in fact was the truth. To tell the truth, this whole talk was giving her a head ache and she simply wanted it to end. Could he talk about nothing else?

Dropping her hand back to her side since the boy had no plans on shaking it, she replied, "Winifrey. Winifrey Golding." She gave him a somewhat cold look, almost rebellious, when she introduced herself. Winirey would not answer the blood status question. "And yourself?" She asked politely, although there was venom laced in her tone. She could take him. Bring it.

The girl lifted the hem of her dress up slightly, checking if there was anything wrong with it. She then remembered that it was a short dress, so she quickly put it down and went bright red, wondering if anyone saw. Even though beautiful, the dress her Mother bought her was lightly too big on the shoulders, the sleeves sometimes slipping down. But then Marissa realised that it was probably meant to do that, making her feel even worse. What caught her eyes were the plates of food on the table. The circular tables lined the four corners of the room with pink and purple. There was a huge crystal chandelier that wasn’t up when Marissa participated in the dance class which the Deputy Headmaster And Professor Matilda hosted.

Marissa looked around for her date. They had spend the entire lesson together, even when James was acting all nervous around her. That brought a slight smile to her face. Marissa had spend ages on her outfit, her hands shaking too much to do her hair, or sorting out the laces at the back of her dress. The decent pair of flats felt comfortable. Marissa thanked herself for not wearing heels, that would have been a nightmare to be seen. Most girls were wearing heels, or ballgowns which made Mari feel slightly under-dressed, but she liked it anyways. Her dress was simple, like her. She didn’t mind as the dress had hidden any of the nasty scars on her back, from the times she accidentally slipped and caught her back onto something.

She finally saw him. James, with his bright yellow tie and a nervous look on his face. She smiled towards him, waving shyly. Marissa wondered why he looked so nervous, did he regret asking her to the dance? He was standing by the door, looking around for someone as he fixed his shirt. Marissa made sure her hair was okay, pushing it onto her back, rather than on her shoulder. She wondered how long James had been there, looking around the hall.

Rosie walked with Howie to the refreshment table, smoothing down her dress and then patting down her hair. Her curly was unruly as always and attempting to break out of her bun. The strands that had already broken out and were now framing her face were hopeless and she didn't even attempt to fix them back in place. Instead, she just tucked them behind her ear.

As they reached the table, Rosie poured both of them drinks and let Howie take care of the snacks. She bit her bottom lip as she considered which to get him. Pumpkin juice or punch? Finally, she decided to go with Fruit punch. Can't miss with that. Drinks in hand, she made her way back to Howie. "I got us fruit punch."
“How about a walk down by the lake? It’s a beautiful night, we could take our snacks down by the water.”
Rosie blushed again and smiled sheepishly. "That sounds nice." She had kind of thought he would want to socialize, but she felt the same way. She looked down at the goblets, she suddenly wished she hadn't grabbed the drinks. They would be annoying to carry down to the lake, but oh well.

Making their way out of the ball, Rosie cast one last look behind her to take a mental image of this night before continuing on to the lake.

Did she trust Dorothy? Of course she did! She didn't have a single reason not to, but spying on other people's conversations? Sounded shady and not very nice. Especially since some of the conversations involved her other friends. Rosie seemed hesitant, as 'the good girl next door'.
Dorothy grinned at Rosie's questioning.  This was a step closer to commitment.  "No no no no no! I don't want to spy on them anymore."  she turned back to the couple, who were still kissing passionately.  Dorothy winced before turning back to Rosie. "Nah, we'll do something else.  Like, mess with the musicians or something." she lifted her head and frowned at the ceiling.  A bland waltz was playing slowly, and only a few couples were dancing.  "Yeah, that's what we'll do! Let's try and get them to play something a bit more interesting! Come on Rosie!" she exuberantly took Rosie's hand and stepped quickly into the crowd.  Pushing her way through all the laughing, talking students, she made her way closer and closer to the musicians, towing Rosie along behind her.  When she reached them, she stopped and pulled a stick of gum  out of the secret pocket in her gown.  D folded the gum wrapper into a badgeish shape.  She then chewed the gum and used a tiny bit of it to stick the wrapper badge to her dress. I'll wash it off later.  Scorgify should work.  She then walked over to the musicians and began speaking in a false lower pitched voice.  "Excuse me?" the blonde said, and the musicians frowned down at her, not stopping their playing.  "I am the head prefect, and I would like to request the song, Do the Hippogriff. This-" she pulled Rosie closer to the musicians. "Is the professor of MSAV. "  The musician raised a thick eyebrow.  Dorothy comically rolled her eyes and stated, "Magical Spelling and Vocabulary, obviously. You don't think they'd teach us all those spells and not tell us how to spell them!  She is here to approve my request."  Dorothy side glanced Rosie pointedly.  She wondered if they were actually breaking any rules.  They were probably just giving these poor musicians a hard time when they could just ask.  Either way, this was funner.  And yes, funner is a word.

OOC: Not sure if this is illegal in the rpg world.  I'm thinking no, but I'll change it if I'm wrong.  Dorothy is trying to change the music to Do the Hippogriff, the song that played in the fourth movie.  :D
