Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Evasive Maneuvers
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
If having three older brothers have taught Josephine anything, that is: every corner hides some kind of danger.
Everybody in the Aitkens' family loves a good prank, that is when a ball is not being hosted. Being her mom the youngest of five and her father the middle one of seven, their mansion has always been filled with laugh and mischiefs. When her own parents are not after some harmless jokes or pranks, her brothers are. Since Josephine can remember, she has found herself with her shoes glued to the floor, with every flavor beans hidden in her food or her treats. Sometimes she would wake up to see the entire furniture in her bedroom changed! Other times, she turned into a canary, her hair would look like she was stroked by lightning or her socks were exchange to the ones with eternal wetness.

Being the youngest was never easy. She had to lock her door every night, sometimes she would beg to her parents to sleep with them, scared that her brothers would prank her. She went from being the fastest eater to be the slowest one, worried every bite about what she was going to taste. Jospehine started to check every corner, have a quick peak before entering any room. So, of course, she had to develop some kind of ability. She had to be faster than her brothers! When she was five years old, it was hard to be fast, as her brothers had longer legs. With time, they learned to use a broom and entered Hogwarts. They became more accurate! And she... She became faster!

With a lot of time, years of practice, she started to dodge their little tricks. All the stuff they bought at the Weasley's shop was worth it, for sure. Everytime she could, she did to them all the things they did to her. However, sometimes she was still only one girl against three boys, so it did not matter for her if her brothers were wasting their allowances. After years of experience, she learn to use objects as a shield, to move her feet as fast as she could or to get down like a cat. It was as if she started to sense when they were going to strike. A few times, she even managed to get out of the way on time to see how they throw dungbombs to each other. She even avoided the exploding bonbons, or the fanged frisbee. It might be luck, it might be skills. Whatever it is, she is grateful for it!

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Sixth Sense
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Her sister always said it was weird how Bea could just miss a corners sharp edge, or jump over a stick just as Ella was sure she was going to trip. Nan called it intuition. Beatrice had ended up calling it her Lucky Feeling. Nan always said that when the gut feeling came over you, to just listen to it. So Beatrice did. All the time. When she didn't bad things ended up happening. Like now...

Ella and her had decided to take the dogs, Eros and Psyche out for a walk. They were farm dogs to a degree, but being saint bernards, didn't particularly like doing work all day. That was what Mavis, the farms border collie was for. Beatrice had bit her lip, not fully wanting to go, the feeling in her stomach warning her that something bad was coming. But she agreed, her little sisters eagerness infiltrating her mind. That and the two dogs her bashing their feather duster tails against the wall, clearly eager to go explore.

As the two girls had walked up the path though, Bea had felt something in her stomach. She bit her lip. It was the same feeling she always got when something important was to happen. It was telling her to listen. She looked to the sky. Dark grey clouds were rolling over the landscape, dotting the earth with pinpricks of water. She sighed and looked grouchily at Ella. This is what I get when I don't listen!

She grumbled at Ella, turning swiftly on her feet towards the house. The dogs, five minutes prior keen as beans to explore the countryside, were now in a mad dash towards the house. So much for loyalty… Lightening split the sky, and down came the rain, not just pinpricks now, but fat hard bullets, searing into the skin of both girls. They screamed, running down the hill, water and mud splashing onto them even more.

They bounded into the house, slamming the door, and bolting it behind them. Their Ma and Nan were sitting at the dining table, eyes now wide and mouths agape. The two girls looked like bedraggled wet rats. Ma grumbled about it being their fault and not to get water all over the house. She went up to start a fire in the living room. In situations like these she refused to use magic to help them, saying that they had to learn their lesson the muggle way. Nan on the other hand, started cackling at the girls. “Should’ve listened girls. Knew it was going to rain hours ago!” Ella stomped her foot. “But it was sunny when we left! There was only a few clouds in the sky!” Nan didn’t bother with a reply, only looking at Bea, an all-knowing glint in her eyes.

As Ma yelled that the fire was ready, both girls got into their pyjamas and hung their wet clothes on the clothes horse. Bea then settled into an armchair, dry dogs by her side (they could thank Ma for that) and picked up her book. She swore to herself that she would never listen to Ella again, especially when the lucky feeling was present.

Describe why this fits your character:

Shawn had always thought it was his incredible luck that made everything work out for him. Anytime he was in trouble at school? He somehow talked his way out of it. Another child was angry at him? He smiled and calmed them down. Shawn had become confident in the fact that if he did something maybe not so moral, the whole problem would solve itself for him. It wasn't until a distant family member mentioned how "charming" Shawn was that thought maybe it wasn't luck. Confused, Shawn asked his mother what it meant to be "charming." She explained to the young boy that being charming was basically being good at making another person happy. Shawn enjoyed the compliment that he was charming and he knew perhaps this was the reason everything worked out for him. But to be sure, he had to test it.

Coming up with ways to test his charm was a bit hard for the young man, he couldn't really go anywhere he wanted, he was still just a kid. He decided most of his charm testing would have to be during his schooling, and so, he began trying to charm those at his school. During a quiz he would charm the teacher into getting distracted, allowing his classmates to share answers. During lunch he would talk his fellow students into giving him candy that may not have been very excited about. The more he practiced, the more he surprised himself with his own skill in charming others. What shocked him most was the adults who were able to be charmed by a child almost one quarter of their age. He began to think to himself, who else could he charm? But Shawn's little experiment would soon be stopped by the one person completely immune to his charm: his mother. His mother had gotten a call from his school detailing everything that had been going on in the earlier weeks. The school told her everything they knew, Shawn taking others candy, Shawn convincing teachers to let his classmates help each other during tests, and Shawn getting extra time to hand in homework. Needless to say his mother wasn't exactly happy with the Shawn's recent discovery of his ability to charm his way through any situation. She forced the young man to apologize profusely to his teachers, friends, and most other people in the school. But it was too little too late, Shawn had discovered his new favorite ability, and he planned on using it whenever he could

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Prodigal Potions Learner
Describe why this fits your character:
Mireia desperately wishes to be a creative. She enjoys working with her hands and she has found her greatest joy when she has produced something she, and she alone, has created. Her mother is an herbalist, both for muggles and the wizardaring community. And so Mireia found a love of nature as well. She often went with her mother to the nearby forests to forage and gather materials for her mother's clients. While her mother was not much of a potion maker, and instead more of a gatherer and gardener, Mireia was not fully satisfied with just finding things. She wanted to use them.

After much whining, her mother finally showed her one use of a material she commonly gathered, and made a magical potion. Since then, Mireia has been hooked. The ability to gather her own materials and turn them into something useful and beautiful - that was her true desire.

Unfortunately for the girl, she was too young to use magic. But thankfully for her as well, muggles had their own kinds of potions. Whether they worked or not was another argument, but some believed they did and so Mireia had a little business.

From her mother's garden and the nearby forest Mireia would create her own non magical potions, slaves, tinctures and more. Some were medicinal, some were simply for smell, or eating. But all she managed to creat by her own hand.

During the rarer times when her parents did make their own potions, they would often let Mireia throw in an ingredient or two under their supervision. Otherwise the girl would take her own diligent notes, paired with terrible drawings - as she was never talented in the arts.

To fill the rest of her time while she waited for her 11th birthday and her travel to Hogwarts, she would try and come up with her own potions, or maybe guess existing ones. In her father's small library there were no potion recipes books - but that did not mean that potions were not mentioned in any of the tomes. She took what little information they gave and filled in the rest with her 'educated' guesses. Once she felt she had a complete recipie she would beg one of her parents until they agreed to give it a try - as again she could not use magic, legally or skillfully.

These recipes never turned out well, which was not surprising as the girl had no experience or knowledge, truly, if the art of potion making. But that did not turn her from the practice. She may not have created any potions but she learned the invaluable skills of patience, as she waited for her brews to brew. She learned how to be precise, as she attempted to rewrite her recipes and experiment. She learned, finally, to have a great attention to detail, as even the slightest error could trash the entire attempt.

Mireia is more than prepared for her potions lessons to start at Hogwarts. Her own wit and determination has made her a prodigal student, and if she is not - who truly is?

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Werewolf

Describe why this fits your character: Ever since Rin was a child, the bite lingers her every word, its like a burning memory that haunts you. The 2017 incident haunts Rin's every sophisticated move. She felt as though she was running for days at a time to feel something since the bite of the 2010s. Did it happen for fate, fortune? She was in hatred for the thought. I'm haunted.

December 3rd 2017
It was a haunting, sombre night. The cold air shook its fellows who call themselves human. The Carmilla family took resting in their cold cottage nearing the family manor. Rin lay awake, her parents in a violent slumber. The book Rin took from her family library lay open, the words "Francis" lay open in the book no 7 year old should be reading. Rin turned the page, mangled body lay scrambled in a corner image on the book. Rin glanced past it, reading at a rapid pace, thinking, "What an obscure name.." Each word on the parchment shot across Rin's mind like scars, leaving their own imprint on the soul itself. The sounds of howling called through the night sky. Was it calling to the child? Rin's seven year old mind forced her out of her bed, a mistake she will live to regret. Rin exited the house, walking past the manor, past the streets. Rin walked and walked to a tree-lined opening. Rin looked at the gaps of silvery moonlight and noticed the white, full moon. Rin's eyes lit to their full extent, Rin read about astronomy before bed. A hatted figure stood, looking at the dark night sky. He turned. His skin, which Rin could hardly see, was pale, almost unaffected by sunlight at all. He was wearing torn-business casual clothes, but one feature shocked Rin like an electric dart. His skin was covered head to two in fur. He looked as acute to a wolf, a werewolf.

His fast stamina made it easy to approach the small Rin. He snatched the small child into his arms. Rin thought fast and kicked him from the back and ran as fast as they could, back home. The werewolf easily made his way towards Rin and clawed her left arm, Rin gazed down at their arm. It was not deep. The werewolf began howling again in mangled anger. The unstable mans breath reeked of blood and the smell haunts Rin to this day. Rin fell over, their mind, eyes, body hazy. The werewolf cackled, sinking his teeth into Rin's small, 7 year old body. Silently, the sun rose over the scene like heaven above, the man readied once again, leaving young Carmilla to rot. The werewolf feasted, gnawed more more into the unfortunate soul when a wizard came; to her luck. He screamed in agony as rain started to fall. He was an apparent adventurer from Mahoutokoro. The wise man backed off the werewolf in a sufficient way. And forced her to drink a mysterious supposed healing potion. Rin's eyes started to fall, she was never this tired

PS this takes place before Rin transitions

Rin woke in her room, she felt like a black whole sucked out of all emotion. It's like the bite sucked out all emotion off of her soul. She remembered nothing. A year later she still felt insecure of her curse, every month her family would claim extra enchantments on their house. The tried and tried to keep Rin safe but she still felt nothing.

When moving to Britain for "unknown reasons" her condition still kept the same. Nothing had changed. Not even their precautions. Rin was still safe, that was most important, right?

Mod edit: 25. June: She still is saved by the sun that suddenly appears but then rain is starting and a random wizard shows up with a "mysterious" potion that heals injuries. What is this potion? Why is the wizard here? Where in London is that cottage? The whole story lacks logic, please edit your application to reflect a logical scenario. There wouldn't be a random wizard as there wouldn't be a random werewolf around London. There also wouldn't be a mysterious potion as that is too vague and not plausible.

Vittoria is accustomed to things being given to her on demand.

Now, this is something that could be accounted for due to her lineage- after all, she is a part of a wealthy pureblood family, and people seek to please her to please her parents. Even if they don't hold much weight, it's always better to be on the good side of someone.

This could also be accounted for due to her upbringing- her parents wanting to shelter their beloved daughter from the weight of the world, false friends, the horrors of elementary schools. She was the baby of the family and lived with the family, her older brother expected to give her what he wanted, something he had shockingly few issues with.

But the true factor to her ability to bend others to her will is her near unnatural beauty.

She isn't a body where you'll find typical beauty standards- button nose, sharp cheekbones, bright blonde hair. Rather, she's an epicenter of the opposite, a warm, inviting kind of beauty that draws others to her in a different way.

She has much softer, rounder features, ones that remind you of a close friend, a trusted confidant, any of the said above and more. She's less a dip into crystal clear water and more like a warm sip of hot chocolate- warm, inviting, comforting. Vittoria has a tendency to draw people to her the way a lamp draws moths to a flame, entirely alluring.

Of course, she's wholly unaware of this, more often attributing others' treatment of her to the other factors- she's the youngest in a wealthy family, so of course she's treated differently.

But truly, her beauty is undeniable in its own unique way.

Her eyes are a deep brown (near black) that draw people in, and if you look, you can see your own reflection in her eyes, even as they bring you in deeper. (After all, isn't everyone somewhat of a narcissist? Seeing yourself in others is near always appealing.)

Her smile is blinding and brilliant, and when it spreads across her face, you'd find yourself hard-pressed to resist one rising to your own, dimples appearing clear as day in her cheeks when she does so, laugh lines appearing around her eyes.

Her hair is curly and dark, and nearly always soft and somehow styled perfectly to her, even if she just rolled out of bed and it's sticking all over the place

It doesn't matter, because Vittoria isn't of otherworldly beauty- she's the beauty of home, of a warm cup of tea in the morning and a nice book to curl around at night. The constant comfort of safety.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Perfectionist

Describe why this fits your character:
Reducio
Despite not being a Ravenclaw, Amadea always took her studies very seriously. One might credit it to the amount of Ravenclaws she surrounded herself with, but the rigor of Hogwarts seemed to prove that the majority of students were pushing themselves as hard as they could to be the best. While some might have been motivated by external factors, such as parental expectations, Amadea's motivations were of a more intrinsic nature. Coming to school as a Muggle born, Amadea felt like she was behind many of her friends who knew about the wizarding world from a young age. Even though they technically had no advantage as they had not learned any magic, Amadea always felt as though she had to sprint to keep up with them as they were just walking. In the back of her mind, a part of her wanted to prove it to herself that she deserved to be here and she was capable enough to be a witch.

The pressure Amadea applied to herself did not always result in the outcomes she hoped for. Despite the constant studying and frequent practice duelling, she still had moments where she failed. Getting an A on an assignment or having a spell backfire might be humiliating, but as much as Amadea felt inclined to start sobbing and give up, she knew that these setbacks would only add more fuel to her motivation to do better.

In the very, very, dark depths of her mind, she knew there was one more reason she pushed herself so hard. While she would never admit it out loud - she could barely admit it to herself - she knew that this might be the lingering effects from her identity crisis at the beginning of fourth year. During her third year at Hogwarts, her father had tragically passed away. Amadea was very close with both of her parents, despite coming from a broken home, and this loss took a huge toll on the Hufflepuff, so much so that she even impulsively dyed her hair blonde for a period of time. Luckily, she had come to her senses and was back to the Campbell fiery red hair that always made people smile and comment about how much it reminded them of Raziel. Because his death had happened very suddenly and occurred in the middle of the school year, Amadea ended up falling behind with her school work. While she managed to catch up and returned to Hogwarts for the spring to finish out the year, the stress of actually being behind plus the added stress of her perception that she was behind made her go a bit crazy with perfectionism. She spent hours double and triple checking her papers, reading her textbooks ahead of time so she would have a rough knowledge of what was happening when going into the class. Amadea knew being perfect was not an achievable goal, but some part of her believed that if she could just improve day after day, she would eventually make herself and her father proud.

ABILITY: Healing Sage
DESCRIBE WHY IT FITS MY CHARACTER:

The education of medicine wasn't out of reach in the Grace household. Her father was a psychotherapist, and during medical school his textbooks made a way into Charlie's room for light reading. The study of the mind, the body, and healing peeked her interest with the first few words on the page. The endless nights of reading under a lantern light grew slight concern from her mother. Though once Charlie expressed her interest, she went out of her way to buy more books for her to expand her knowledge.
The first time she experienced healing first hand was when she was 6, falling off of her mothers broomstick trying to reach a cookie on the top of the refrigerator. When she called out to her father in tears, both of her parents came down and realized immediately that Charlie broke her arm. She was in too much pain to care, but her arm had a compound fracture and desperately tried to not look. Her father, luckily trained, helped fix her arm in no time. This sparked her love for healing to others.
The field of practice her father went into wasn't quite what she was interested in. She had a more passion for healing wounds, and developed a slight morbid curiosity but she kept that to herself to spare a concerned eye.
Before she would have the opportunity to join as an intern for the school's hospital wing, she continues to prepare herself on her own time with reading the library's textbooks.
Sometimes when she's at Quidditch games she'll go out of other students' way once a player is injured, and would watch from the sidelines their care from Nurse Brumby. Others would think this is concerning behavior, but all she wants is a proper way to educate herself on healing but she's not quite of age just yet for the internship. Books could only do so much for her, and wanted to witness it up close and obviously not practice to prevent injury to herself.
Healing brings out a empathetic side to Charlie, an emotion she doesn't get to express very often to her peers. Her views of it makes her feel noble and a reliable source for other wizards and witches. This passion is untamable, and hopes she could be a very benign help for the future in the Hospital Wing or even perhaps become a MediWizard for Quidditch Tournaments.

Leon has always been a reader, tearing through any book he could get his hands on as soon as he was old enough to understand the words, along with practically anything that has printed words on it. Old outdated newspapers and magazines, cookbooks, a few faded letters he found in the attic once when he was eight... If it could be read, rest assured he would read it. Over the summers, he developed a habit of "borrowing" his siblings' textbooks - eventually, they caught on and he had to stop or at least ask first, but now that he's a student he has his own textbooks to read. Cover to cover, over and over. He's remarkably intelligent and a quick learner, and the things he reads just seem to stick in his brain for future use. The boy has a certain proficiency in just knowing things, from what bird a single feather comes from to why the sky is blue to the pronunciation and movements of several spells he's never gotten the chance to try and perform.
Leon is not a very prideful person, but his intellect is something that he's not exactly ashamed of either. It's the thing that he bases himself around, the one trait that he seems to recognize in himself. As far as he's concerned, that's all he is. The boy tends to spend long hours of the night studying until he knows the material by heart, hunched over one of his textbooks reading by dim lamplight - which may or may not be yet another reason his eyesight is so poor without his glasses, combined with his nearsightedness, but that is a story for another time. He relies far more on his intelligence than anything else, following his head rather than his heart. Every decision he makes is logic-based, planned out as much as he can in the time he has.
Unfortunately, Leon's obsession with learning new things has almost always been limited to just reading about them, never experiencing them. He could memorize the incantations and practice the wand movements with a stick he'd found lying around the barn, but up until this point he's never had the chance to actually perform any sort of charm or spell, and he's very eager to start now. He's read through all his textbooks countless times, studying the pronunciations and practicing the swishes and swirls and flicks to himself. Now, it's just a matter of figuring out how to put it into practice.

Describe why this fits your character :
Surely there wasn’t anything that could bond two humans faster than a good glass of liquid courage! If joining hands with a good drink, the fastest way to a friendship, then the Albrecht family were the faithful Bartender that pours them drink after drink as they drunkenly converse and jive. For generations, the prestigious half-blood family combined the best techniques to create the alcohol empire it is today, there isn’t a better bottle of wine than a bottle of good ol’ Albrecht Sanguine. The Albrecht family has no secrets in their ‘formula’ other than “listening to the voice of nature”, which is only half true. The other half is none other than good hard work, one could even say this trait was hereditary in the Albrecht family, after all it certainly held true for Aurelia.
Aurelia had always been curious, her private tutoring only served to ‘fan the flames’ on that hunger for knowledge. Aurelia spent days pouring over magical theory books after her first instance of magic, desperately wishing to test out her application abilities, but alas, she could only wait for that fated owl from Hogwarts before she could even think about touching a wand.
In order to stave off the sadness of being unable to cast magic, Aurelia dove into her studies- much to her families delight, from muggle history to business management to the wizard legal system, Aurelia wanted to ensure that she was well beyond prepared for further magical education. Of course, learning new things had always been a fun and (sometimes) easy task for her, pouring over a book in the shade of a tree, humming along to a tune of a blackbird had been the pinnacle of relaxation for her.
The burden the name of ‘Heir to the noble Albrechts’ only added to Aurelia’s need for knowledge, and years spent with the best tutors refined her into the quiet intellectual she is today, learning turned into second nature and practice turned into habit.
Aurelia was not always like that, her first ever taste of academic frustration came to her during a lecture on the delicate relationship between the ministry of magic and muggle governments, the mix of different rules and ideas from the two worlds was overwhelming, having to consider both sides of at the same time was difficult to wrap her head around. Aurelia ended up shedding tears over the essay she was assigned to write on the subject – “Magic should be revealed to all, to what extent do you agree?”, when her mother came to visit.
She said, “It is frustrating at first, when you don’t understand something, but resilience and a little time will prove your hard work will bare fruit. Much like how the grapes will ripen at autumn after many months of care and hard work,”
Inspired by her mother’s words, Aurelia attempted again, and again, and again. Until she produced an essay, she felt was satisfactory. They joy she felt when her tutor handed her graded work back with a ‘good job’ written in red pen at the front was rivalled only by her excitement at her first instance of magic.
Aurelia keeps that memory at the forefront of her brain, to remind herself that hard work does in fact yield results, it only takes a matter of patience and resilience to obtain them at times.
