Nick was making his way to class at a time that was really odd to him, 10pm. It made sense for a class about space to be later at night but yet it was still odd to the boy considering classes in muggle school never extended past 3pm for him. He didn't mind though really, he was used to reading books and intaking knowledge later in the nights, and he was always a night owl since he could remember, playing baseball under the stars, the bright lights shining on the field was always his favorite. He continued on his way, wearing a sweater under his robes instead of the usual dress shirt, he was told that it could be cold in the tower during classes and had even brought a blanket just in case since he was told it was allowed, though he rarely got cold and wasn't entirely sure he'd need it.

After finally making his way up the long spiraling staircase he finally prayed his thankfulness to all the bleachers that his father had made him climb for condition. Many kids around him at the top were breathing noticeably heavy and clearly did not enjoy the climb, not that he blamed them even for someone used to going up stairs it had felt like ages.

Nick found an open seat and sat down, adjusting his watch anxiously waiting for class to start while also checking the time, he was early as usual, still not used to making it around the castle he made sure. He looked next to him and noticed a girl messing with a camera, it was fitting considering they were supposed to look through lenses of some type at some point in class, an interesting dynamic of some sort. She had brown hair with some blonde mixed in and was probably shorter than Nick himself, though it was hard to really tell much about her while she was looking at the camera. With some time to kill and a goal to socialize more than he had in muggle school Nick decided to speak up.

"So what are you doing with that camera there?" He asked in a warm tone contrasted to the chilly feeling in the room, trying to somehow start a conversation. He smiled as he was leaned over slightly, but making sure to leave space to not make the girl uncomfortable. Nick himself felt decently educated on most subjects, but cameras....nothing. Maybe she'd end up teaching him something new even.

Willow was never really one to opt to be out of bed past nine o'clock at night. Much preferring to be snuggled under a heap of blankets. Although for this class, she was more than happy to be there. She had always had a sort of fascination with the stars and planets and found them enchanting. The climb up to the classroom however was extremely unwelcome. She had heard that the climb was difficult but coupled with her heavy camera and slight fatigue, it was torture. When she finally stumbled into the classroom, any dismay she felt glittered away. The room was quite big and absolutely gorgeous. She could see the stars anywhere she looked and tried her best to pick out the few constellations she could remember from her studies before Hogwarts. Hoping to capture the memory of the starry night sky, she brought her camera up and snapped a picture of the starry night sky.
"Crap, my film is stuck..." This had only happened one other time to Willow and her mother had been there to assist her in fixing it. She tried her hardest to figure out how to fix it and figured the best way to do that was to open the back of the camera. How to do that? She had no idea. So while waiting for the other student as well as the teacher to come, she sat down in a surprisingly comfortable chair and started fiddling.

After about 7 minutes of trying to figure out how to actually get to the film, she faintly heard someone ask what she was doing with her camera. It took her a few moments to realize that the person was talking to her as people didn't tend to walk up to her often. She seemed to give off a vibe to people of 'Don't bother me'. Not that she meant to seem that way, it's just kind of what would happen. Without looking up, she muttered "Well my film is stuck... So I'm trying to get the back of the camera off but I don't actually know how to do that. I'm guessing there's like something to press or push or pull or something but I can't for the life of me find it. My mother usually helps me with these things you see. So I don't really know what to do." Willow often found herself rambling when absorbed in something she enjoyed. However once she actually realized that she was rambling, she would get self-consious. "So sorry for rambling. I'm sure you didn't expect that much of a reply when you asked me that." She finally looked up from her camera as she was saying this and was met with a tall boy around her age, perhaps a bit older and seemed to be nice enough. Although it would take more than a smile and asking Willow about her favorite thing in the world to form a friendship.

Nick felt bad after hearing the girl was having an issue with her camera knowing he didn't have any experience with cameras, he figured opening it couldn't be too hard but figured if the girl couldn't do it that it probably had to be opened some weird way. "I'm not gonna be of much help with that sorry, Cameras are something I'm not the best with. Is there like a screw or anything, or a little latch like on remotes?" It was often when Nick felt like he was totally useless, but now he was. But he could at least toss out ideas or thoughts that may end up in the right direction.

"If we cant fix it now we could always ask the professor to fix it, there's a spell that fixes things that would probably work right? I cant do the spell yet but I remember my mom using it before so maybe it would work on fixing your film?" Nick asked remembering that they existed in a now magical world, surely the issue could be fixed with some simple spell the two simply weren't aware of yet.

"Im Nick by the way nice to meet you." He said with a smile, hoping to catch her name, even if he was being quite unhelpful in the issue she was facing. "Never apologize for "rambling" as you called it though. Be yourself, I can talk a lot too, but I also like listening a lot, you can learn a lot from smart people who talk a lot." Nick said, before finally stopping his own rambling, hoping he himself had not done too much of it as well.

Although Willow had been at Hogwarts for a fair while, she had completely forgotten that spells could be used for practical reasons such as fixing things. "Oh. My. God. You're a genius. Of course! There must be a spell that can fix it. I'll ask the professor when they get here." Willows mother had never used magic around her as a kid for the fact that there was a chance she wasn't magical with her dad being a human. However, once Willow got her Hogwarts letter, her mother was excited to tell her all about the "Wizarding World".

"Pleasure to meet you Nick. I'm Willow, Willow Greene. And if you laugh at my name in any way i won't talk to you ever again," she told him with her best glare. Her parents loved the outdoors as much as Willow herself and they found themselves quite funny having the chance to name their daughter something so obnoxiously nature-y. Willow couldn't believe she was actually having a proper conversation with a Gryffindor. From all the stories she'd heard, the two houses were enemies of sort. Although Willow didn't seem to mind that the boy was a lion. He didn't seem as arrogant as some others she had bumped into in the past.

After a few more moments of trying to fix the camera, the professor finally arrived. Late to her own class, interesting. Willow abruptly stood up and went to ask Ms. Horne for help. As quick as can be, she performed some spell Willow had yet to learn and that was that apparently. As she walked back to her table, where the boy was now sitting, she figured the best way to see if it was now working was to take a picture. So she called his name and held her camera up, ready to snap a picture as soon as he turned her way. "Say cheese!" The flash shined brightly as the photo was taken and Willow couldn't help but laugh.

Nick was glad that even though his lack of knowledge in cameras was ever so apparent, he at least managed to be helpful in some way to the girl. She ended up introducing herself as Willow, following with a threat of sort that caught Nick off guard. Nick was actually quite a fan of the name, and the tree she was presumably named after, but before he could really give a reply the girl was off having her camera fixed. It took only a mere second, a quick flick of a wand and a word later and her camera was as new as could be. In no time flat the girl was back to sitting next to him.

"Nick" He heard before turning to the girl who told him to say cheese. He managed to get up a half smile just before the picture snapped, the girl laughing at him while Nick was more focused on how embarrassing the photo probably looked. Nick wasn't exactly camera shy, having to have pictures taken of him all the time for school, baseball and his mothers incessant habit of tracking every moment of his life. But he usually had a little more of a warning at least. But yet he laughed with the girl, mostly out of embarrassment than anything.

"Glad your camera is now fixed WILLOW" Nick said the name with slightly more tone to it, just to mess with the girl, pausing before continuing with a smirk. "I kid, have you really had people make fun of you for that name? Willow's are quite beautiful trees actually, I would argue graceful in fact. The grow wonderfully and fan out in a way that makes them unique." Nick finished now sitting back in his chair relaxing. "But, dont take that as me allowing you to take photos of me whenever you want, that will reward you with the taunting." Nick finished with a smirk again messing with the girl.

Willow rolled her eyes, knowing that she would in fact be taking more pictures just to spite him. She found conversations flowed rather easily with Nick which she welcomed greatly. As he had complimented her name she tried to think of a way to compliment his name but all she could think of was some jock boy from the movies she used to watch on TV. As class officially started, Willow settled into her seat as best she could considering it seemed to be cold enough to snow inside the classroom. Still, she took notes and paid attention as well as she could but would often draw along the margins of her notebook. She wanted to soak up as much information as she could from these magical classes and found herself enjoying this class the most since the material wasn't completely unknown to her.

After a while of the teacher droning on and other classmates participating, Willow began to drift off to sleep. She was only twelve after all. Just a few years ago she would have been fast asleep by this time. Every minute or two she would wake up and pretend that she had not fallen asleep but she slowly fell behind in note taking. "Hey Nick, let me copy your notes. I fell asleep," she whispered to him hoping not to disrupt the class. Willow dearly hoped the class was nearly over because the thought of needing to stay awake for much longer upset her.

Shortly after Nick had finished speaking class finally began and Nick sat there listening, glad he had brought the blanket he decided to wrap himself around it like a little cocoon, making sure his arm was covered as well so as to keep it warm as well. He found the class to be interesting yet boring all the same, he always thought space was interesting and the philosophical side of the class with what certain things in space meant was always interesting, but at the same time Nick hated lectures for the most part. But he sat there and mindlessly wrote down every word the professor said essentially, a habit he had developed to make sure he could read it back later when he wasn't ready to leave the class in boredom.

It had been a good chunk of class since he heard the girl next to him pipe up again. It was uncommon Nick had come to learn for people to talk during class unlike in muggle school. It was generally because there was more at stake to getting caught, points as well as teachers generally being more threatening and able to provide scarier punishments. But Nick had noticed the girl dozing off occasionally, it looked like she was trying to pass it off but it was obvious to anyone sitting near to her that she was having trouble staying engaged. This made it no surprise to Nick when she announced to him that she had actually fallen asleep and asked for his notes.

"If you want just prop your head up and go back to sleep, I can always give them to you after class, I wouldn't mind copying them for you, or we could go to the library and you could yourself instead." Nick said in a hushed tone keeping his eyes on the professor as to try and make sure he didn't get in trouble. He really didn't mind letting the girl copy them, he also didn't mind copying them for her as he would be reading them again undoubtedly himself anyway. Though if she took up the latter it would mean he didn't have to go back to his dorm and do it alone which would be nice of course.

The idea of sleeping triumphed the fact that she would rather not get in trouble for falling asleep in class. Surely the teacher would understand? So Willow did as he said and propped her head up as inconspicuously as possible. "Yeah..Library...whatever..." She mumbled as she fell asleep. She would much rather copy the notes herself as she had a very particular way of organizing them. It wasn't in some sort of mind bogglingly neat way but it made sense to her and that was good enough.

Willow tended to have weird dreams when she slept and now was no exception. However instead of her usual odd dreams of running through forests or tree tops, she dreamt of riding through the milky way on the back of a purple dragon named Candy. Willow also tended to talk in her sleep. Which happened to be very unfortunate while sleeping in a classroom setting. If one listened closely, they could hear her mumbling about how the stars were too big for Candy to eat or how the aliens could never catch them as long as they flew fast enough.

As class ended, she was nudged awake and seemed awake as ever. For her, a small nap could wake her up better than an hour or two long ones. Willow gathered her things, careful to pack her newly fixed camera safely in her bag before waiting patiently for the others to file out of the room. She disliked being in big groups of people especially if she didn't know them. She let Nick take the lead as they made their way down the seemingly never ending stairwell and she thought about how perhaps her decision to come to class tonight rather than skipping it for some much wanted sleep was quite a good idea.
