The Gryffindor Table 2021-2022

Kim regarded the girl before him.

She'd said her name was Joey earlier, an interesting name to be sure.

He didn't think there was another Joey here, at least he hadn't met or heard of one. Come to think of it, he hadn't told her his name. "Ah, I'm Kim." Kim added, giving his name.

"Spicy food is great though! It'll clear your sinuses too if it's spicy enough." Kim said with a smirk. Josephine's response about desserts made a smile come to his lips. Since he wasn't thinking about expressions, his smile had turned out to be an actual smile this time. But then, he always tended to smile when it came to desserts or sweets. "What's your favorite one?" He asked. "I love sweets more than anything else." The tall boy said.

"The house elves are really good at making the food here. Whatever you desire they can make." Kim told her and finished the food on his plate. For the second time around, or had it been the third? He couldn't remember anymore. "But you have to try the custard tarts, they're my favorite." Kim looked around and spotted one. He grabbed two and handed Josephine one. "Let me know what you think." He told the girl.

Yes, Kim could get really chatty when it came to sweets.

"Oh" She smiled widely. "Nice to meet you, Kim!" It was very nice to finally talked to someone who was not blood relates to her, indeed. Although, she had to wrinkled her nose again. There was only one type of food she couldn't bring herself to enjoy: spicy food. "I'm afraid I don't like spicy food, not for now. I'm hoping I will one day, but today is not the day" she answered. Furthermore, her mom already knew a way to clean your nose up real good. Magic.

She poured herself a gladd of pumpkin juice and looked at Kim's smile. It seemed really genuine, which made her own mile even wider. She thought about his question, though. She really tried to think about it for once. "My favorite one? I'd say... Pumpkin cake? Anything that has pumpkin in it, to be honest. Or chocolate. Or cream... Oh, it's so hard to choose!" She complained, as she liked everything. "What is your least favorite? Is there anything you do not like?" She asked, very curious.

Then, she looked at Kim, impressed. House elves! They also had one at home. His name was Evergreen and it was the cutest thing ever. He could do everything and Josephine loved him as much as she loved Andros, her oldest brother. Probably even more. "There must be quite a few to be able to cook so much food!" Evergreen was amazing, but she doubted she could have cooked such a huge meal. She grabbed the tart Kim handed her and looked at it. He said it was his favorite, so it could not be too bad. She gave it a little bite and... another one. And another one, and another one... "Oh my Merlin! This is awesone! It tastes amazing!! Could you give me another one?" She liked cream but, suddenly, Josephine loved it even more than pumpkins.

Kim listened as she spoke about her favorite dessert.

Pumpkin, chocolate and cream? Those were delicious and sometimes worked well together!

"Chocolate and cream go really well together but pumpkin does too. If you know how to pair it with the other two ingredients. Like, donuts! You ever had a pumpkin donut with chocolate cream inside it? It's so good and will make you want to grab another one." Kim said with a grin, thinking about flavor combinations. There were so many you could do on your own. "You should try one soon." He suggested.

"If you can't find one, I can always try and make one for you." Kim added, not wanting Josephine to miss out on such a delicious treat. Especially if they were flavors she loved, how could you miss something like that? "For desserts, I'd say custard tarts are my favorite. But for sweets, I have to go with chocolate. In particular, chocoballs. They're my favorite sweet. If you haven't tried them, you HAVE to."

Kim told her and licked his lips.

He nodded at Josephine's words about there being a lot of house elves at Hogwarts.

"I think there are a bunch as they make all this food three times a day and sometimes even more, depending on whether there are celebrations." He said.

As Josephine bit into her tart, she started to devour it within seconds and then asked for another one. Kim smirked. "See? I told you it's addictive! I think what makes it so good is that it's sweet but not overly sweet, so you don't feel like you're getting a sugar overload. It's more creamy and delicious." The white haired boy said and reached over to grab another tart, which he handed to Josephine. Kim finished his own tart.

And then rested for awhile.

He'd already eaten a ton and was quite full now. But later on, he'd probably eat some more.
