Sometimes there are people who have big plans for summer. It is a good amount of time for some bigger character development triggered by changes at home and some choose to use all of the holidays for that.

End of June is the end of the schoolyear and the next is starting in September, leaving 2 months of no Hogwarts. The last two years there was one month of summer camp and one month of everyone going home. Summer camp is organized by staff and offers a big number of activities like campfire, there are always some sports games of the overall winning houses of the year against other schools and all kind of stuff.
