Hexwizard Coming to Hogwarts
February 22, 2022 - Evening
She had, of course, learned about the great days of Harry Potter in her even younger years. Her parents told stories and there were even picture books to explain the situation to young children. So, for course, she knew the premise of the situation. She even remembered when famous Harry Potter was sentenced for murdering a lady that was once his headmaster at Hogwarts. While more recent was that story, she didn't fully understand that situation, she mostly remembered her parents outcry of emotion towards the news.
Either way, she knew Harry Potter's story, but to her it was just a story. Of course, she knew it was a true story, but she had no real connection to it whatsoever so it always felt like a fantasy to her. She remembered learning out the Triwizard Tournament, and she actually did remember Cedric Diggery, as she saw a picture once and thought he was rather handsome. She was saddened to learn of his imminent death.
So when Headmaster Lear began his speech this random day in February of her first year, she followed, mostly, what he was saying. The idea of the Tournament coming back both excited and scared her. She tried not to dwell on the thought, not get too excited, as she doubted she would be skilled enough by the time of entering to really stand a chance, let alone likely even be old enough to join at all.
Although the though of being a spectator, and her luck at being at Hogwarts for the first reinstallment of such an event was very exciting. Her mind wondered with images of what the other school's student may look like, their uniforms, their accents. She was deeply interested in what the challenges might be - and wondered who from her school would be the Champion of Hogwarts.
She asked herself, "would she put her name in the goblet of fire?" likely not, even if she was allowed, she thought. But maybe. Who knows when this event would come back at all, let alone back at Hogwarts. She wouldn't get picked anyway, might as well put her name in just to say she did?
She would have to think more in the months to come before coming to a decision.
Mireia exits the scene. Please owl me if you wish to respond to her, not that she said anything out loud, though.
