Ami crinkled her eyebrows at Parcel's explanation of the whole moon-sun thing, not because he said she was pretty, but because he kept saying 'he'. "I'm going with Lorelai," Ami said, giving Parcel her patented The Hell?™ look. "You can take someone to a dance without having to date them, you know. And besides, girls can date girls... it's called being lesbian. Or bi. Or pan. Or a lot of other things, but that would be a lot to throw at you." Shaking her head, Ami threw Parcel a pitying smile... so he had yet to discover the gay rainbow. That's okay, she'd teach him someday... someday, indeed. Someday where they weren't crowded by students in fluffy dresses and tiaras.

Ami glanced down at her arms as Parcel pointed out her bruises, and she just shrugged. "They're mostly from Reid, but some of these other ones are from me running into walls," she said honestly, rubbing her forearms self-consciously. "Although I think this one's from you," she clarified, pointing at a large one on her bare shoulder, sitting on the better half of her considerably toned upper arm. "The first time I ever hit a bludger, someone hits it back at me," Ami sighed. "Really, such a terrible first experience. Quidditch sucks."

Picking at the hem of her shirt, Ami awkwardly waited for Parcel to say something else. What else was she supposed to say? Would you like to dance? God, no. How was she supposed to tell him to dance as the girl, since she only knew the man's part? That... that was a conversation she wasn't exactly willing to have with a near-stranger.

Oh, nono! Nobody ruined it for me." Anatole's lack of reply had gotten her a bit down, but it certainly didn't ruin the whole ball for her. She didn't need a guy to have fun. "I've just had a bit of an odd week, and I'm just tired. All my friends seem to have dates or something," she sighed, shrugging, "It is what it is, yeah?"

Addressing Rosie Parker

Dorothy's grin was replaced with a subdued smile as the girl spoke. It quickly reappeared as the girl finished speaking. "Eeew dates! We're too young for that nonsense." she said rolling her eyes at a pair of dancing first years. "Come on Rosie, let's do something fun! We could play spies and see what they're saying." she said pointing at an older couple who were standing close and speaking to each other. Dorothy watched for a moment as the couple got closer, and then... Snogged. "Gross! Or not." The blonde said with a shiver.

She paused for a moment. Someone in the room was screeching, and it kinda messed up the music. "Probably Verla" she muttered with a frown, not bothering to look. Verla seemed like the only person who would be screaming like that. From what Dorothy had seen, she had extreme reactions to silly, small things.

The child turned back to Rosie with a sarcastic expression and sparkling eyes. "Anyway. I don't see why these balls are such a big deal. They're super boring. All anyone does is stumble like a troll around the room, or just eat food and feel sad because some boy isn't there. I think we should look for our own fun!" At this statement, she stood from her seat and offered a hand to Rosie. "Wanna come?"

Since it looks like Kathleen's account is gone???

Asteria stood up from her seat and walked over to get some pumpkin juice, "This is stupid." She said, taking a drink and looking around. "Why am I still here? I should be doing homework." She made her way through a small crowd of second years who were all huddled around the table talking about who their dates were. Asteria took a brief glance out the window and caught a look at her reflection. She tucked a single strand of hair behind her ear and walked away, in her opinion she looked stupid wearing such clothes, but then again she wasn't a fan of these events to begin with. "There has to be something to do here." Asteria didn't understand what was so fun about balls, no matter how many she went too.

Everyone had someone to talk too, everyone was having fun, laughing away, everyone but her that is, Asteria was bored out of her mind. 'Invisible girlie' the taut of her old bully rand in her mind 'no friends, no life, she probably be like that old cat lady down the road! HAHA.' With a roll of her eyes, Asteria made her way toward the entrance and leaned against a near by wall. The sad thing was, the muggle boy was probably right, even her own date stood her up after all. Even if she wasn't into all that boy stuff, that's still a blow to take. Were all boys such gits? No they weren't but all the ones she knew except for maybe one were.

Taking her free hand, Asteria smoothed out the front of her dress, a waste of money in her personal opinion. Taking a sip from her goblet, Asteria returned to looking around the room, a dull look returned to her face as she silently counted down the long terrible hours left at this thing.

Aravis smiled at Eri and nodded. "Hogwarts is...okay. So far I haven't punched anyone so thats always a good sign." She said laughing at the memory from Summerset when she punched a girl who was making fun of her family. So far people had only annoyed her but no one had dared to say antrhing bad about her family so far. "Although I haven't made many friends. In fact I think my only friends are Charo and Lucien. I have a few people ive talked to like Adam and Ava but that's about it." She said with a sigh.

She hated not having friends. Maybe it was because she was too scared of letting down what little friends she did have. Then again Aravis was never a very friendly type person, she was more strict and poised rather than giggly and fun. "What about you? How do you like it here? You've probably made more friends than I have." She said with a slight laugh. Aravis had never talked to Eri much but she did like talking to her. She scanned the room with her icy blue eyes to see if anyone else she knew had entered the room. So far she didn't see anyone.

Rosie was blushing again, but Howie couldn’t blame her, he too felt some heat on his cheeks as they danced together. He had never experienced this kind of feeling before. Back home, Howie had had a few friends, but never anything close to what this felt like. He was pretty sure that Rosie was becoming his first, true best friend, but at the same time there was also something more. She made his stomach do flips, but he was also completely comfortable with her. What an odd sensation.

I’m sorry that things are hard with your mum, but you aren’t odd to me. Or maybe we’re both odd and that’s why we’ve become such good friends. You shouldn’t worry too much about what other might think, you’re perfect! I wouldn’t change a thing.” He replied to her as they spun in another circle.

The song came to a close. And finish the dance by giving her a twirl. His mother’s lesson came back to his mind. As the final beats to the music rang out, he released his grip on her back and held her hand high, turning her round in a spin. When she completed her rotation Howie reached out and grabbed hold of both her hands. He had just completed his very first dance with great success. The perfect partner and no stomped toes! Looking down into her eyes Howie laughed with glee.

“So what now Rosie? Want to keep dancing? Or we could get some refreshments and walk around?” He asked as they stood there holding hands, oblivious to his surroundings.

Verla ran up to Rosie and Howie who seemed to be done dancing. She said hello and mentioned hoe beautiful Rosies dress was. Howie looked handsome too, though she figured that was always just howie. She apologized for suddenly leaving in the owlery.  She explained that her parents had sent her all of her things since they knew about the situation with her parents. She felt awful for leaving so abruptly when she could have just spoken to them. She needed help on her communicating skills. She excused herself and went over to the punch table and poured herself another glass. When she was drinking it, she lost her footing and tripped, right into the bowl of punch. She let out a small shriek as it soaked into her white, pretty dress. She sobbed quietly as she got up out if the bowl and hugged herself. Almost everyone was looking at her. She didn't have her wand. So slowly, she walked out if the ballroom still sobbing. The second the door closed, she began running to her dorm. She got her wand and fixed her dress. She didn't know if she wanted to go back. She'd already embarrassed herself in front of everyone. Then she decided not to go back (unless asked otherwise).

To say she was nervous was an absolute understatement. Her palms were sweaty, and she kept messing with the sleeve of the dress, that her mother had sent as a present. She didn't feel quite comfortable yet, not really knowing anyone here. Hopefully by watching, Marissa would be able to survive the night without having some nervous breakdown or any embarrassment. Maybe she could make some friends whilst being here, but she highly doubted it. For her shoes, they were simply flats that matched her dress.

Once she had entered the ballroom, she immediately wanted to leave. There were so many people, too many to count. James had asked her to the ball through owl, but she could not spot him anywhere in the ballroom. So naturally, she started to panic. What if he ditched me? Just to embarrass me.

She nervously played with her hair as she looked around the room, her blonde hair falling along and down her left shoulder. She had styled it slightly, only a simple braid and allowed her natural hair to come through. So her natural curls stood out along with the white flowers she placed in her hair. But, she had decided against any type of makeup, finding it way too overwhelming for herself. She did not need it, she was only eleven and did not really have any spots. She sighed as she looked around the room, spotting a few people she knew but rarely talked to. But for now it seemed as though there was only a large crowd of people she didn't really recognise.

Alma looked around nervously, hands clamping the deep blue dress robes she was clad in. It was a lovely piece, with intricate silvery embroidery that shimmered when it caught the light of the chandeliers. While she was dressed in a way she’d usually feel rather comfortable with, she now wasn’t sure if she hadn’t entirely missed the memo. Everyone that was already here in the ballroom was dressed in elaborate, flowing and wonderful muggle fashions. Alma was amazed by the sheer lengths some dresses had and certainly felt a spark of fear the heights of some of the heels the girls wore. Alma herself had stuck to simple flats of an equal Prussian blue as her robes, knowing fully well that she’d only main either herself or someone else should she ever dare to wear heels. The other girls didn’t seem to mind dancing around in them though, seemed to have fun wearing them actually, so Alma would leave them to it.

Instead, she looked around once more, trying to find a familiar face in the sea of people. After a few minutes, she spotted another set of dress robes. She was delighted once she realised who was wearing them.

Edric!” Alma called out, making her way over to the boy dressed in blues and browns, careful not to accidentally step on the train of a dress or something like that. Once she got closer, she realised that he was talking to Marcia, dressed in a simpler muggle fashion than some other girls but with pretty flowers woven into her hair. She hurried over to join her friends.

You cannot possibly imagine how glad I am to see the two of you here!” Alma sighed once she’d joined them in their spot close to the wall, a bit away from everyone else.

Cecily was not a fan of social gatherings, nor did she particularly enjoy dressing up. Those given, a dance was essentially her worst nightmare. She wasn't even planning on attending until Adam had asked o\if she and Amadea wanted to go with him-- as friends, of course. So, because of this invitation, Cecily had painstakingly written home, received a dress by owl, and adorned the garment just a few minutes before the ball began. She didn't want to be in a dress for any longer than she had to. She knew this was unusual for a girl, but she had grown up with brothers. She couldn't figure out what to do with her hair, though-- she wasn't very good at all this fashion stuff-- so she simply left it down.

Noting the time, Cecily finally realised why it had gotten so quiet in the dorms. The Ball had started already! Cecily rushed down flights of stairs in her dress (why did the Ravenclaw Common have to be in a tower?) to find the Ballroom. She subtly slipped in through the massive, grand doors, and stopped short in the sudden assault on her senses.

Cecily openly gaped at the breathtaking decorations. It was as if the Professors had taken the very essence of spring and materialized it into decorations adorning every inch of the enormous Ballroom. Cecily scanned the magnificent room, taking in all the details. The gorgeous flowers and dresses, the sparkling chandeliers and jewelry, the tables full of delectable food and sweets. Music was playing underneath the buzz of thousands of excited voices. Shielding her eyes to the blinding shine and sparkle of other girls' dresses, Cecily suddenly felt woefully under-dressed; she hadn't even bothered with shoes, knowing that she would just take them off immediately anyway!

The Ravenclaw spotted a tall, blond boy sitting near a girl with wild red hair, and weaved her way through the masses to find her friends. "Amadea, Adam!" Cecily broke into a grin as made her way towards their table ad chose a seat next to the other girl. "Isn't this spectacular?"

Evie walked into the ballroom nervously. She tripped over her dress just as she entered. "Come on Eve," she said to herself "You can't make a fool of yourself, you're here to make friends." Eve walked over to the punch, trying not to fall again. She fiddled with the small ring on her finger as she glanced around the room. There were couples everywhere. Evie scanned the room looking for someone her age. She took a sip of fruit punch, and managed to spill a little bit of punch on the skirt of her dress. Eve hoped no one would notice the small spot of red on one of the petals of the flowers on her dress. She tried to blot the stain out of the petal, but it would not go away. "Mom's gonna kill me," Evie muttered. She was overreacting, but she knew her mother would be the tiniest bit upset. Her light blue, fluffy dress swept the floor as she walked over to a chair and sat down, looking at her shoes. She got her dress from her older sister, who handed it down to her. It was in great condition other than a slight chip in one of the flower petals. Her half up-half-down hairstyle was annoying her, she was used to her hair being tied up and out of the way. Evie felt like her carrot orange hair clashed with her dress, but it was all she had, and she didn't really care anyways.
