"Good..." he said softly, tilting his head to the side and slowly closing his eyes. With their lips inches apart, he could only think about how he had mistreated her in the past when in truth she was a kind and beautiful girl. He didn't why know he was so rude, but right now he didn't care. All he wanted to do was kiss Willow and show his affection.

Just as they were about to touch the annoying girl known as Evelynn shouted at the top of her lungs to not touch the cupcakes, in turn spilling hot tea all over his lap and top. Gray instantly shot back and growled, drastically trying to wipe off as much tea as he could with a cloth that was laying on the table "Evelynn?! what are you doing?" he said with a shake of his head as Willow began to help him dry off "Willow is right, there is nothing wrong with them! can you not be jealous?" he grunted before painfully rising to his feet.

"Yea... lets get out of here. Evelynn is just being herself, not a big surprise" he grumbled openly as he took willow by the hand and walked out into the corridors with her, leaving the two alone to finally finish off what they started...

Flash's embarrassment would be superceeded by his curiosity and he would look over at Eun-ji. She seemed to be staring into her cup, looking sad. Worried that perhaps he had made a misstep in the way he accepted the rose, or how he had not said anything when he read the letter, he would swallow the lump in his throat and lean in to try to have what could pass as a more private conversation in a round table.

"Eun-ji, do you-" His words would be soft and hushed, but they would be cut short.

While he had paid no attention at all to the growing strangeness just over his shoulder, Evelynn's shout and subsequent hot beverage spilled on Gray would be all the alarm needed to draw his attention back. Looking from one person to another, it was hard to figure what had transpired. Evelynn had said something about the cupcakes, while Willow would insist nothing was wrong, and that she would like to help Gray clean up. Seeming completely uncharacteristic, the two walked off as if it was perfectly normal for the two of them to be so close, kind, and helpful to one another. They may have resolved their issues, but that had only been minutes ago... were they both so fickle?

Watching them leave with extreme scrutiny that went ignored by the preoccupied Willow, Flash would turn his gaze instead to Evelynn, "W... why? What did you notice?"

Did Flash trust Evelynn's perception more than Gray and Willow's word? Yes. There was clearly something strange about what had just transpired, yet the two of them seemed perfectly happy. Flash would also look to Adlai, who Evelynn had been talking to, to see her expression. Had she seen the proceedings and made her own conclusions, or was Evelynn alone in her fear of cupcakes?

Gaze trailing after the two as they took their hasty leave, Evelynn couldn't help but feel more than a little embarrassed. She hadn't meant to make quite as much of a scene as she had ended up doing so, and the weight of the eyes that had fallen her way bore heavily down upon her shoulders. And then there was the doubt. As Flash raised his question, rationality seemed to catch up with impulse, and suddenly the thought of actually answering him seemed like a greater ordeal than it ought to have been.

"It..." Hesitation stopped the explanation in her throat. She tried to swallow it away, to push it down below the surface of reason. But she couldn't. Not entirely. It had been instinct, not rationale, that had primarily prompted her into action.. What proof did she have, really. As much as she liked to think herself as well informed, the truth was that she had fallen horrifically off the wayside. She was no better informed of the school's happenings than a fresh first year entering the castle bright-eyed andd hopeful. And then there was the matter of who had asked for the clarification.

A flick of her gaze in Flash's direction had led it to rest on the unusual eye. She never could shake the unease that crept its way along her spine whenever she thought about it. And every time, she would find herself pausing, weighing whether whatever she was about to say was something that he ought to be hearing. Whether it could be used in any nefarious way if fallen into the wrong hands. But it was an eye, not an ear, she would remind herself every time. And it was Flash. He would never betray them. At least she desperately wanted to believe that.

"I think the cupcakes may be laced with amortentia," she blurted all at once before the continued spiralling of her thoughts could stop her again. "It would hardly be the first time that some beverage or food served at an event or circulating the school has been compromised, and Valentine's always seems to be the most common occurrence for it. It is strange, is it not? I know little about Anderson or her relationship with Gray, but that is decidedly not the way that the Gray I know acts. They had just had the cupcakes. I am almost certain there is at least something strange going on. Even if I am wrong."

She would pause for a moment to gauge the others' reactions. But only a moment. The reality was that she wasn't really keen on seeing their reactions. The judgment. She was only too aware that her notions tended to be more on the pessimistic and paranoid side and that not everyone was particularly keen on listening to her conspiracy theories. "Nevermind... I will find out for myself..."

Grabbing her things, she slipped from the chair and rose delicately to her feet, skirts in one hand to stop herself from tripping and making even more of a scene than she had already. It didn't matter what they thought anyway. Yay or nay, she wasn't about to let Anderson be taken advantage of like that. She didn't know what kind of game Gray was playing at, but she was almost certain he was trying to make Anderson the fool in some way. A new low for the muggle-hating prat. In haste, hoping to catch up with the dearly departed duo before they could get too far, Evelynn would leave the party.

Eun-ji was pretty sure he was about to ask something impactful and she couldn’t figure out whether she wanted him to do so or not. Supposedly, talking about your feelings with other people helped but the Ravenclaw wasn’t sure if that applied to her as well. Unfortunately, in the end the decision was made for her in the form of Willow and Percival suddenly getting up and leaving. She didn’t really know either of the two but she had to agree with Evelynn that it did feel like the atmosphere between them shifted rather dramatically. It felt unnatural and the red head knew them better than her so she could very well be right. Also, Hogwarts events indeed tended to go off rails more often than not. One could never be careful enough when attending them.

Eun-ji slowly put down her cup, the tea was getting cold anyway and she wasn’t sure if she could trust it. Everything about this party suddenly seemed extremely suspicious to her. Evelynn didn’t take long to make a decision to follow the strangely behaving pair but the raven-haired girl didn't move to do the same. It probably made sense to check on them but she wasn’t familiar with Willow or Percival enough to consider joining her. She didn’t like to meddle in other people affairs…now more than ever. Had it been Flash, she would go without hesitation but as it was, the witch didn’t feel like it was her place to settle any conflicts between them. “You should go too,” she smiled at the boy softly. He was probably planning on it but she wouldn't be surprised if he was hesitant to leave right away for her sake. “I know you want to.” This was about Willow after all. She was like a sister to him.

Standing up, Eun-ji started gathering the cupcakes and dumping them into one box without any mercy. If there was even a slight chance somebody tampered with them, they belonged into a trashcan. “Perhaps next time, I should make you a dinner from scratch. I’m not a fan of sweets anyway.” She said apologetically. “I’ll clean this up. You go and…just…be careful, okay?” Hopefully they wouldn’t do anything too stupid.

Evelynn would answer Flash's question in a rush, seemingly now a bit out of odds more than he would have expected. He watched her with serious scrutiny, but she would not wait around for a discussion. Instead, she would grab her things and leave, heading off quickly in Willow's direction. Flash's head would swivel to follow as she went, a thrum of worry and panic earning its way into his heart with her urgency.

He would hear Eun-ji's voice, and return his worried gaze to her. Her words were simple, and effective. Somehow she knew exactly what he was thinking, and spared no time for useless pleasantries. It was hard to stay upset when she was around to calm him. He would offer her a weak smile, knowing from the start there was not a good chance that this evening was going to be as pleasant as he hoped it might. For as many women as there were there that he admired and enjoyed the company of, he most of all found himself wishing he had stolen her away for a private affair instead. Perhaps next year.

For now, he would join her in getting up, appreciating that she had the mind to get rid of the poisoned cupcakes before they had a chance to cause any more harm. She would go so far as to offer him dinner, which would ease his soul further. Somehow, bad things happening did not seem so harsh when there was something he was looking forward to in the future.

"That would be amazing." Flash replied, sighing as he spoke. "Thank you. Thank you as well Adlai, I'm sorry I have to leave so abruptly."

With that, he would hurriedly follow after Evelynn, trying to catch up.
