Run Boy Run (continued)
After sprinting up to the dorms, Pax speedily changed into a pair of sweatpants and a plain mustard yellow loose t-shirt. After what was probably the quickest change in Pax's life, they hurried down to the grounds. On their way out, they'd checked,
and they'd managed to make it out in ten minutes. That left the new boy (whose name Pax still did not know) five minutes to get down to the grounds.
They didn't plan on pushing themselves too hard, and had to drill into their heads that this wasn't a competition. Otherwise, they'd run as fast as they could and end up collapsing halfway round. And that would not be good for either party.
Impatiently, they glanced back at the doors of the castle as they attempted to stretch. They did a few arm stretches before lunging and stretching their legs. Surely five minutes had passed by now.
Internally, as they continued to wait, they scanned the grounds as far as they could see, trying to plan out a route. Not knowing if their new friend had run regularly before, they decided to take a smoother route than usual. Typically, they'd be taking as demanding a route as possible, but they didn't want to scare off their new running partner.
Huffing, they crossed their arms. They hoped they didn't have to live up to their threat.Reducio

Kim climbed through the painting after saying the password.
Upon entering the Gryffindor common room, he glanced around to look for Pax.
No sign of them anywhere. Kim headed for his room, a double room that could house two students at a time but luckily he'd managed to get the room all to himself for now. After putting his satchel down onto his bed, he went out of his room and headed for the common bathroom. It didn't have a shower or bathtub but at least it had some running water that he could use to splash onto his face. Kim washed his face and then looked at his own reflection.
He didn't like how his face looked perfect, the definition of handsomeness. Honestly, Kim would have loved if he'd been average and unnoticeable. It would have made people look at him differently, that's for sure. Whatever. Kim didn't want to dwell on serious thoughts right now. He wanted to forget about what tomorrow would bring and that was why he'd agreed to be Pax's running partner today. They were waiting for him now. And he'd agreed to come.
Sure he hadn't given his word...
But when he agreed to something, Kim wanted to do whatever it was he'd agreed to do.
It just felt better to him. On the other hand, if he gave his word to do something, even if he wanted to he wouldn't be able to break his word once given. It had something to do with honor. It had nothing to do with an Unbreakable Vow. The only problem was it was extremely hard to get Kim to give someone his word because he didn't like giving it to anyone. After all, if the boy gave his word it meant he would do everything he could to keep it.
Even if it meant getting hurt and possibly even dying in the process. That was how seriously he took it. Kim dressed up in casual clothes, a navy blue shirt, a pair of darker blue pants and a dark blue thick headband designed to soak up any sweat from his forehead. He'd pulled his purple hair back into a short ponytail, although a lot of strands fell through and stuck his silver necklace down inside his shirt. Ah, damn it. He'd forgotten the Scream's latest edition.

Kim hadn't had time to read it yet and wanted to see how things had turned out.
Yes, he'd been involved in putting it together, but there were some things he didn't see until they were printed. Still, it wouldn't do to keep Pax waiting, so Kim rolled the newsletter up and stuffed it into his back pocket. He paused, debating about whether or not to bring his wand, and then grabbed it. You never knew when you might need to use it as a wizard and it was best to have it on you at all times. Kim stuffed it into his other back pocket, that was free.
And then headed out of the common room.
Once he'd made his way to the designated location, Kim looked around for the one called Pax.
He noticed them right off the bat and stepped out onto the grounds to head towards him. Kim tilted his head from one side to another as he eased out the kinks.
"Pax." Kim said with a nod and then realized he'd never introduced himself to them. "Ah, I'm Kim." He added, not knowing if Pax already knew his name or not when they'd approached him before. Still, even if they did know it, it didn't feel right to not do introductions. Kim started to stretch too, knowing the importance of doing so before a run.

Pax sighed with relief as they spotted the boy approaching them. With a grin, they waved a hello as he (finally) introduced himelf.
"Kim? That's a cool name!" They replied, stretching their legs a little more, making conversation. Noticing a rolled-up magazine article tucked away in this back pocket, Pax laughed at his unpreparedness.
"Do you really plan on running with that in your pocket?" They nimbly snatched the article from his pocket to examine it. "The Screamer? What's this about? Is this full of horror stories?" They leafed through the glossy pages, but didn't really process the information.
"Ah well." They tossed the magazine to one side (well, not literally). "Let's get going!"
Looking back to check on the boy, they began to jog/ run. The gentle thud of their footsteps echoed throughout the quieter woods. In all honesty, they jogged mildly faster than their standard jog, just to show that they were fast.
Not even bothering to check if Kim had kept up with them, they simply began to talk, whilst keeping their eyes ahead on the track. "So, do you run often? Do you play any other sports at all? I've got my first quidditch match tomorrow, and it's my first time as co-captain. I'm a bit nervous, but I really hope we can win. We've been training really hard, and I've got faith in our team, despite the roster changeovers. You know, you should come to the match tomorrow! Yeah, that'd be great! It'll be great to have a familiar face in the audience."

Kim looked over at Pax.
They seemed to have no concept of personal space, taking things from other people.
But it didn't much matter to him. Not right now, it didn't seem to him as if Pax intended on stealing the issue. They just seemed curious about it, that was all, which was fine.

"It's called the Scream. It's a newsletter that is only available to members of the Goosebumps Club." Kim told them and then paused for a moment. Now was the prime time to go about advertising the club. Noah had wanted them to get new members. Maybe Kim could act as a recruiter of some sort, he'd already gotten Sophia to join. Perhaps he had a talent for this. "You want to join? It's fun, even if you don't know anything at all."
"And by anything I mean about Goosebumps. Oh, there's usually snacks involved too." Kim added. "I'm part of the club, if you didn't already get that from my earlier words." He teased them. The tall, purple haired boy watched as Pax tossed the newsletter to the side onto a bench and talked about heading out. Kim went over, rolled it up and stuffed it into his back pocket again. He nodded at Pax and then started to jog after them.
There was no need to run fast, straight off the bat, because that could lead to muscle problems. Since Pax hadn't let him stretch beforehand, Kim wasn't going to take any chances. Therefore, he simply jogged to warm his muscles up for now. As it was, he fell behind Pax at first, but then after a few minutes he caught up to them. At Pax's current pace, Kim was content to simply keep up with them. After all, he still wanted to warm up to avoid cramping.
It was then that Pax spoke.
Asking about whether or not he ran a lot and about sports in general.
"Mm. Every now and then I do. I'm usually too busy doing classes, homework, studying, preparing, club activities and taking notes on dueling matches. So I don't tend to have much free time." Kim told them and paled upon hearing about Pax being on the Quidditch team and them wanting him to go support them. "Uh, I don't tend to go to Quidditch related things." He said, trying to end that particular conversation.
Before it got started. Pax was acting as if they were old friends and Kim wasn't sure what to make of this. He didn't know them and wasn't entirely sure what their agenda was. But it had to be manipulative. Everyone was like that when it came to him. Then again, Pax didn't know who he was. Kim had never given him his surname and to all his knowledge Pax hadn't found out about it. But then again, the last time Kim had let his guard down he'd gotten hurt a lot.
He glanced over at Pax.

Pax tilted their head to one side, considering the offer. They hadn't heard of the franchise Goosebumps before, but they weren't opposed to the idea of horror. In actual fact, they rather enjoyed scaring their siblings with things alike that.
"Alright, I'll give it a try," they agreed. "What time's the next meeting? And yes, I did take a guess that you were a member," they quppied. I'm not too stupid, wouldn't you know?"
Seeing the boy catch up with ease, Pax continued to quicken their pace. They refused to let him overtake, making sure that they were at least one step ahead.
"Well, you're coming to this one!" They grinned. "It's always great to get out your comfort zone. And who knows, you might like quidditch."
They looked towards Kim with a the best puppy dog eyes they could master. "Please? In all honesty... I need a good friend in the audience."
Unknowingly, they had continued to speed up even more, until they were almost sprinting. Sweat was beading on their forehead and slowly forming on the bridge of their nose as they panted.
"Crap...water..." they sighed, slowing. "Ah... shi..."
They wandered aimlessly trying to grab a tree for stability, before their vision went black.Reducio

Kim nodded when Pax agreed to come.
"It's May 1st sometime. I'll get an owl closer to the date and will let you know."
He told them, not knowing himself as of right now. Kim continued to match Pax's pace, finding it easier now that his legs were warmed up and remained right by his side.
Even when Pax ended up pulling ahead again, Kim did the same. After all, hadn't Pax said they wanted to run with him, not ahead of him? So, naturally, that was what he was doing. This person though, they kept trying to get him into Quidditch, without knowing anything about him beforehand. Why did they want him there so bad that they were almost pleading with him? Kim didn't get it, they didn't know eachother so why was it so important to them?
Unlike many people, Kim didn't trust easily due to past experiences that had burned him.
So, no matter what Pax tried to do or say, Kim wouldn't give in to their words. But then, Pax turned back around to face him and gave him what was a good impression of a cute animal's face. They said something again about needing a good friend in the audience watching them. Kim raised a brow. "If that's the case, why does it have to be me? We aren't friends, we don't even know eachother. Didn't we just meet a few minutes ago?" He asked.
"Wouldn't you want to get one of your friends to cheer you on? I'm sure you must have a ton of them. If you're on the Quidditch team you must be pretty popular with the students." Kim said, not even breathing heavily as he continued to jog along a little behind Pax now. That was when he noticed something, Pax seemed to be sweating a little too much. "Yo, you alright? Maybe you should slow down a little."
"This isn't a race." Kim advised them.
But his advice seemed to come a bit too late for them.
Pax literally started falling over and Kim's eyes widened as he sprinted forward to catch them. He managed to do so before Pax fell and was caught in a rather awkward position.
Kim was standing in place with Pax's head and chin drooped over his left shoulder. One of their arms slung over Kim's shoulder, while the other arm was like a ragdoll and fell straight downward. "Oof." Kim exclaimed, without thinking much about what he was saying at the time. Courtesy of being around Sophia too much. He grunted under Pax's weight and adjusted his position. Then, he started to drag Pax over. Okay, he needed to change this a bit.
Stooping down a little, Kim hefted Pax up onto his back and then started to carry them piggyback style. Yes, this was much better. Easier too. Around fifteen minutes later, Kim arrived back at the Gryffindor common room. He paused for a moment upon managing to get the main door open. There was a decision to make. Take Pax into his room with him? Or deposit them out in the common room and wait for them to wake up there? Hm, decisions.....
He decided on the latter.
After all, Kim didn't know Pax well. Why would he take him into his room?
Kim went over to the couch near the fireplace and let Pax fall onto it. Breathing heavily, as carrying someone that far and up the stairs all the way to the fifth floor was not an easy feat.
