Owls
Quinn was coming up the stairs to the owlery. She had written a letter home telling her family about how her classes were going. She was getting good grades, she wasn't falling so that was a good thing. It also told her parents how she had joined a clumsy club or, and started her own. Nothing major, she wasn't playing the end of the world.
She had reached the top of the stairs and heard some owls hooting, some students telling there owl where to go. Quinn did not have a personal owl, so she had to use one of the school owls. She brought some treats to feed to one or two of the owls.
She walked around the people leaving and looked around for a school owl she could use to send her letter. She found a small barn owl, it was adorable. Quinn loved animals, she reached into her pocket to grab a treat for the little owl. "here you go little guy, its a treat" she said in a soft tone, holding out the treat for the owl to take. The owl gave a hoot of thanks, and took the treat. Quinn saw the the owl in the nest next to barn owl was looking at the treat. So Quinn gave that owl a treat as well.

Owls
Mariposa walked up the stairs of the Owlery. She was caring a stack of neatly tied letters all addressed to her mother, Trufuly most of them she was sending back to her mother. Her mother saw sending more letters than she could reply to, a simple request to send one letter per month. Hopefully, her mother would listen.
The hooting of owls gotten louder when she reached the entryway of the Owlery. Mari didn't like how the Owlery smelled but she could put up with it for the cute owls. Mari had always liked animals but her mother didn't, so she never had any pets. Her footsteps were light as she noticed that there was another person in the owlery. With their back turned she couldn't tell if the other person was a boy or girl, or what house they belonged in. She turned her attention from the person to the owls, she needed one that was big enough to deliver the letters, she didn't want to have to send multiple owls, it wouldn't be fair to them.
Mariposa frowned did Hogwarts have owls big enough to carry the stack of letters? Great Horned Owls were big birds, she knew that much, she looked around the owlery looking for the physical traits of the bird. Earlike tufts, intimidating yellow-eyed stare, she had found him. Mari beckoned the bird down from its perch. The owl hotted and Mari stepped forwards.“ Such a pretty bird.” She cooed, scratching the bird behind its ear.
“ I have a job for you.” Mari begin picking up the stack of letters. “ Do you think that you can handle it?”
The owl hooted, and it sounded offended. Mari smiled and rolled her eyes, what a prideful bird. she began to tie the letters to the owl's feet.
Mariposa stood up.“ Now just to warn you mother doesn't like animals, so don't expect a warm welcome.” She warned. the Great Horned owl hooted, the sound deep, and if Mari didn't know better, it looked like the bird rolled its eyes.
Mari took a few steps back as the owl expanded its wings and took off, She ducked as the owl flew over her head, flying out of the window like a firework. Mari stood to her full height as she shook her head. Overzealous much? She thought.
“here you go little guy, it's a treat. ”
Mari heard the person speak, so they were a girl. The girl was feeding a small group of barn owls.
“Do you come up here to feed the owls?” Mari asked softly, she stood next to the girl and looked up at her with a soft smile, Mari noticed that she has seen the girl a few times in the Slytherin common room. Then turned her attention back to the owls. They were cute and hyperactive, bouncing all over the place eager to work, Mari kind of felt bad that she didn't have anything for them to deliver.

Owls
Quinn heard someone speak to her as she was feeling the owls. She asked if Quinn came up here to feed the owls. When she turned to look at the girl the girl gave her a soft smile. Quinn was slightly startled, but not enough to make her jump.
"oh! Hello! I normally feed them when I have a letter to bring, well.. I guess I feed them every time I come here" She told the girl, Quinn has seen her around in the common room. She had black hair and gray eyes. "you have very pretty eyes." Quinn told the girl.
She quickly looked away. "I'm sorry that was weird, I haven't even told you my name" Quinn looked up again, and held out her hand "my names Quinn, what's your name?" she asked as she tied the letter that was ment for her parents to the barn owls leg. She temporarily walked away from the girl told the owl where her parents lived, and held it out for it to take flight.
Quinn then walked back to the girl. "so.. Do you want some treats to feed the owl? I have some more." She told her, grabbing some more treats out of her pocket.

Owls
“ Oh! I just sent a letter home, Mother writes to me a lot...” Mari trailed off, looking out the window the Great horned owl flew out of. Mari's attention was drawn back to the girl when she complemented Mari's eyes and then apologized for doing so.
“ You don't need to apologize, I get unwarranted compliments a lot... Because I'm you know a quarter Veela” Mari smiled and shrugged. She doesn't know why she shared that information. It wasn't like she was ashamed of being a half-breed, but because she didn't want to be judged because of her blood status. She twirled a lock of her hair around her finger. The girl told Mari her name.
“ Quinn? You have a very fitting name, pulse you're very pretty, you have a very earthy type of beauty.” She said. Mari always had an eye for beauty and she wasn't sure if it was because it was part Veela or if it was because she spent much of her time observing others.
“I'm Mariposa, but I’ll like it if you could call me Mari. ” Mari said. She watched as Quinn step away from her to send an owl on its way to her parents.
“ Do you come up here often?” she asked. Mari tended to avoid the owlery because it was a constant reminder that she needed to respond to the numerous letters from her mother. She was always avoiding her problems until she couldn't do it anymore.
“Oh! I would love to feed, them,” She said and took the treats from Quinn. She should start bringing treats of her own. Mari stood by Quinn and noticed that she was a bit taller than her. she looked away embarrassed. Mari had hardly spent any time with girls her age, what could she say or do?
“ You're in the girl's dormitory right? I'm in the gender-neutral dorm, it's a fun place, my dormmates are unique people, to put it kindly.” She said as she tossed a treat in the air, A barn owl swooped down and caught it. She clapped as the owl began to do tricks for treats.
“ Uh, Do you like it here at Hogwarts? Because I do, I have much more freedom here than at home.” She tossed another treat at the owl. Mari couldn't say that she could call Hogwarts home, it wasn't home, but it was starting to feel like it. Hogwarts was much warmer than her humble little home.
Mari healed out her hand as a small owl perched itself on her arm. she scratched under what she assumed to be a chin. she gasped as another owl made itself comparable on her head. she gave both a treat they hooted in delight.
“ I guess I'm a tree now.” she joked, shaking her head and causing the owls to fly away and the butterfly hair clip that was clipped in her hair to fall to the ground.
