Quill Pals: Edmund and Skraele

Dear Nan and Daideo!
Hogwarts is so amazing! I'm already having such a great time! There is so much to see and do; it's a little overwhelming sometimes!

I've made a handful of friends the first week, a couple on the train ride over even! Beatrice and Michael, they're quite the unique pair. Beatrice is from a little farm in Scotland, it shows haha! Michael is a strange boy from Glasgow, but he's very friendly even if I don't get him.

Lessons are going great so far, and I haven't been late yet! Charms and Flying are sooo much fun. I haven't had a lot of time to explore yet, maybe my next letter.

I've joined just about every club they'll let me: Gymnastics, Bookworms, Truth or Dare, Archery, and Drama! I'll be trying out Martial Arts soon too. One for each day of the week, isn't it?

I hope you're well! I miss you and Zipper! (Say hi to him and give him a treat for me)
I can't wait to write my next letter and let you know everything that's happened,
Love Always,
Skraele

Skraele,

I'm Edmund Dempsie, Gryffindor. I know this might be very sudden and odd, but I think the school owls must have made a mistake. I received your letter instead of your family. Maybe try another owl? Are you a Gryffindor too? I'll deliver it to you in the common room after classes, so you can send it again. If you're not, just approach me during breakfast tomorrow!

Dear Edmund,
Oh my gosh! I'm sorry, I think! I knew I didn't like the look of that bird! Or maybe he was jealous because he wanted to be the only owl I fed mice. Barmy thing.

I would really appreciate not having to write the letter again! Honestly, I forgot what I wrote already. I'll be happy to come get it from you, though I'm not Gryffindor, that's how it's spelled? I'm in Hufflepuff! So, I'll have to come get it from you sometime. I'm sorry for the bother!

Wait, I don't know what you look like? Should I just walk over to your house table and start asking around? I guess I'll have to do that if I don't get another owl from you before then.

What's it like in Gryffindor? I always imagine it a bit stale, to be honest. No offense, of course. Hufflepuff is so much fun, and everyone is so unique!

Anyway, thank you again! Even if I don't get that letter back, I really appreciate you taking the time to write so at least I know my letter didn't make it!
Sincerely,
~±~Skraele~±~Valasse~±~

It's alright. You have to be more careful with what owls to choose, though. Imagine if someone decided to play a prank on you by responding as your parents.

Ah, you're a Hufflepuff. You're like, the fourth Hufflepuff I meet already. I'm tall, have black hair and blue eyes, usually next to two very talkative girls, so I'm hard to miss, I guess. If I notice a Hufflepuff wandering close to the Gryffindor table, I'll know it's you, so don't embarrass yourself. I'll give it to you during breakfast.

None taken. Well, Gryffindor is the best, in my humble opinion. We have the most unique students! Everyone is excited and there's always something to do. I imagined Hufflepuff to be a bit more... boring, considering everyone's supposed to be nice and perfect. No offense, of course.

Don't mention it.
