Now it was time, Enya was finally aboard the Hogwarts Express, and she was more than thrilled. Before, she had at made one friend, Elliott, and the two of them were sitting in a compartment together. The compartment was empty, save for the two of them. It was mostly quiet; Elliott wasn't much of a talker and Enya was busy staring out the window.
She had actually found Elliott sitting alone in the compartment, which she didn't find too odd. From their first meeting, Enya could tell that Elliott didn't like being around strangers, she was fine with that. She didn't even qualify as a stranger anymore! They had exchanged names and were sitting together on the Express!
"So..." she started, turning back to face Elliott. "You excited for Hogwarts, eh?"
Whether or not Elliott was excited, Enya certainly was. Her fathers had both told her all about the gorgeous castle, amazing food, and great memories they had made. They met in Hogwarts, long before Enya was born. They would always tell the 'Oh so romantic story about that one-time your father-'. Yeah, Enya got enough of her two dads constantly doting on the big castle.
She was unable to sit still, jumping up from her seat and spinning around. "We're going to Hogwarts, Elliott!" Enya's little energy spell didn't last long, as the train jumped a bit and she tumbled backwards into her seat once more.

Aboard the Hogwarts Express, he didn’t seem like it on the surface, but he was elated to finally begin his journey within the wizarding world. He sat, hunched over a textbook, alone in a compartment, hands in his lap, until a familiar face had entered. Although he didn’t mind, he was slightly annoyed he would not be able to spend the trip with just himself as his company. He thumbed through page after page, eyes darting along the words, occasionally glancing nervously at Enya, who was daydreaming through the window.
The soft chatter of students muffled by the compartment door, the background ambience grounding Elliott as he read. “So… You excited for Hogwarts, eh?” said Enya. Elliott, a little startled at the sudden break in the silence, jumped and took an extra second to register what she’d just said. “We’re going to Hogwarts, Elliott!” She leapt from her seat, and was sent flying back down in just a moment’s notice.
“Yeah, really. Really excited,” he replied with a small smile. “My parents want me to do good and.. and so do I.” Elliott swiveled to look through the window with a softened, wistful look in his eyes. “What about you? What do your parents think?”

Elias hadn't found an empty compartment yet, and the compartments he did find were full of rowdy students that he didn't want to interact with. They weren't worthy of him being within their vicinity. They seemed to fill the Hogwarts Express- and he didn't appreciate that.
After checking a few more compartments, he stumbled upon a young boy and girl chatting, and had paused for a moment or so, before opening the doors. He had only heard the tail-end of their conversation, and paused, before taking a seat opposite of the two.
"I take it these seats are not empty?" he murmured, holding his bag on his lap. The girl, a bright one who had a chirpy personality, was talking about her elation for attending Hogwarts. Though Elias would never admit it aloud, (especially not in front of his parents-) he too was excited for the upcoming school year.
"You know," he began, waiting for their small conversation to end. "I believe this school year will be rather prosperous. Our classmates, it seems, are rather ruckus though." He ended his sentence with a small scowl. Elias had learned from a young age that being excitable in public was a bad look for not only him, but his family as well.
Ah, the two students sitting across from him didn't even know his name! Starting a conversation without letting either of them know his name- how rude!
"Ah, my name is Elias Holloway, by the way. Might I ask for your names?"

As Oliver was walking towards different compartments and checks everyone it seems they were all full, until he stumbled into one compartment. As Oliver checked the compartment he saw three students, a female and two males, Oliver liked the quietness and entered the room walking towards the group and smiling softly. He seemed hesitant on speaking to the group but hey gotta get those social skills working! "Hello, uh My names Oliver. Is it just us in this compartment?" He couldn't even look at them ouch, embarrassing. As Oliver looked around he couldn't help but think will they'll find him weird and dry? he ran his fingers through his hair quite nervous as he started looking through the group, he found them.. interesting. He has a small feeling that he'll encounter this group more often he hopes they do, will Oliver finally make friends? probably, will it make his parents proud? hopefully. He let out a shaky breath and he smiled nervously as he went back to looking around. 'Should I say something else? Am I too dry? Or am I too awkward? Crap crap what else should I say?? I'm too messy aren't I? Why am I overthinking anyway?'

Enya and Elliott's near-empty carriage was filled almost the second Enya stopped talking. There were two more boys who entered, one who had glowing white hair and sounded rather posh, and another boy with grey hair.
"Ah, my name is Elias Holloway, by the way. Might I ask for your names?"His voice was casually laced with superiority, but Enya was definitely not one to notice that kind of thing.
"I'm Enya Mae! I'm assuming you're going to be a first year, too?" She responded, flashing a casual smile. He was rather tall, but Enya was pretty tall herself. It came in handy when she was playing basketball.
Elias had taken a seat across from Enya and Elliott, but the other boy looked on the more nervous side. She definitely didn't blame him- this was an incredibly nerve-wracking experience. At least Enya had met Elliott prior to going to Hogwarts, so the two of them could cling together until they got sorted. It's easy to go through those things when you've got a friend in tow.
"Hello- uh... my name's Oliver. Is it just us in this compartment?"
She motioned to the seat across from her, next to Elias. If the boy stood when the train jerked, she was afraid he might come crashing down like she had done just a few minutes earlier.
"Yeah, it's just us three," she pointed to Elliott and Elias. "You should sit down, in case the train bumps."
Enya pulled out a small bag of candies she had brought with her onto the train, it wasn't a whole bunch of candy, just a couple of pieces to hold her over the journey. She quickly offered them to the three boys in the compartment as well, if they didn't take the candy, then she would eat them herself.
“What about you? What do your parents think?”Elliott asked, directing his question about Hogwarts to Enya.
"Oh boy, both of my dads were tearful when I got on the train," she laughs. "Gosh, I'm so glad you didn't see them- you'd think I was being sent off to be killed!" She shook her head, her laughter slowing. "I think they're just nervous for me, though. I mean, I'm certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed."
Enya shook her head, sighing quietly to herself. Her lack of wisdom was definitely not something to laugh about!

As the two continued to converse, Elliott grew increasingly alarmed at the amount of people in the compartment. He hurried to gather the stack (it was more like a mess) of new, stately textbooks beside him. He shoved them into his leather bag, and glanced nervously at the two new faces that were now seated in their compartment.
“Ah, my name is Elias Holloway, by the way. Might I ask for your names?” the white-haired one greeted airily. His confidence paired with the absence of cheerfulness was intimidating. Compared to Enya, he was far less warm.
“I'm Enya Mae! I'm assuming you're going to be a first year, too?” replied Enya, smiling.
“‘M Elliott..” he said quickly, a guilty feeling of disappointment at the realization the train ride would not be quiet aside from Enya. He fiddled with his thumbs, looked out the window, then back down at his lap, turned to sneak a peer at the boy, and back out the window.
"Hello- uh... my name's Oliver. Is it just us in this compartment?"
“Yeah, it's just us three,” she would gesture towards himself and Elias. "You should sit down, in case the train bumps.” Elliott exhaled softly through his nose, a hint of annoyance in his expression. It was nothing personal against the two new members of the compartment, but rather against the fact he would no longer be spending time with only a familiar face. He would scold himself in his head for being rude.

“Haha.. I wish my parents would be that tragic about it.. I mean—“ said Elliott, staring longingly at the passing terrain. “I mean they were very stiff about it.. ‘I expect you’re not going to disappoint us,’ and all that..” Enya offered him the small bag of sweets, and he accepted a piece of candy, unwrapping it and turning his gaze to the floor of the compartment,

"It is my pleasure to meet you all. I hope this adventure brings us a many stories." Elias smiled. As he fixed his ironed, prim suit he sat across Enya and the Eliott who was hunched like a well-cooked shrimp.
Elias laughed as he recalled his mother, "My mother is making me write letters weekly! I hope my owl doesn't get too exhausted." He relished in that feeling. A feeling of comfort even ways away from home. Home, someone was missing him at home. One person, he's sure that father wouldn't miss him. Elias joked that his father was born and will die in his office. The large doors effectively blocking any form of relationship between the two.
"What do we hope to find at Hogwarts? Power? Relationships? Sucess?" Elias asked as he held his pale hands together and placed them on his chin. "Mother is hoping that I become a powerful wizard." He tilted his head to the left (pointing out no one) in interest. Mother, mother, mother. What does mother want me to do? What shall I do for mother? He also hopped to break this chain of a dragon eating its own tail. A cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Of becoming another man for this woman.

Enya wasn't the brightest when it came to school. She always "barely" passed her classes, with lots of those boosts being from doing good in sports. If she didn't get passing grades from getting first in a race, she probably would've failed primary school.
But emotionally, she was pretty smart. She was able to pick up when someone else was feeling a certain way, and she was feeling that way around Elliott. She tapped his shoulder and leaned over to him.
"Hey, this is your chance to make new friends," she murmured into his ear. "You shouldn't feel too anxious, 'k?"
While listening to both Elliott and Elias talk about their parents, she felt a pang of similarity between the two of them. It seemed both of their parents were much stiffer than Enya's. Neither of her father's really cared about what Enya did after she graduated; as long as she did graduate, they would both be very proud of her.
What did she want to find at Hogwarts? Nothing particularly came to mind; she just wanted to make friends and learn some magic. She was denied that privilege from a young age, anyway.
She wasn't really a fan of magical sports, broom-racing and quidditch seemed fun, but they weren't like playing soccer or rugby. Or even running track. Nothing would beat sprinting across a track- first place with nobody coming close!
"I think I'd like to make some friends, at the very least. I'm also okay with just passing."
