Lucy walked in slightly lifting her dress so she doesn't trip, She didn't want to attend but seeing how all the girls in her house were talking about it made her curious. Before the attended Hogwarts her parents held many ball's in their house along with other wizarding families. She already knew how to dance and was quite good at it at least she thought.

[Her hair was braided back neatly with a couple of flowers in hair making it more elegant looking, The flowers adding more color to her hair. Her mother had sent her these roses from Bulgaria of course she had to add them to her outfit.
Hairstyle
She glanced around the room smiling at a couple of the professors she saw, Not wanting to bring attention to herself she quickly scurried off next to a table and took a seat.
Looking at all the students a lightly visible smile appeared on her face. While talking wasn't always her best quality observing was something she was good at.

Taking a breather from everything she stood up slightly lifting her dress so she doesn't trip or get it dirty she walked over at the table with drinks.
Dress
Pouring herself a glass of water she rested herself against the table sipping from the cup looking at a few of the students who were dancing others talking with each other.

She didn't get a date or well nobody asked her, She didn't mind at all in fact she rather be alone. Having somebody who wanted to dance and be a center of attention did't sound appealing to her so she went alone.
A professor passed by giving them a sweet smile as a strand of hair fell on her face quickly tucking it behind her ear she waved at the professor ''You look stunning professor'' She said giving them a bright smile making her eyes twinkle as the light hit them. As they walked off her smile quickly turned back to her normal state still enjoying the light music and talking.

She hummed to the song enjoying it while thinking if there was anybody she knew there.

OOC: Addressing Anatole Evans in the below post.

Syrah sat, simply staring into the Ballroom dance floor. The music was soft, though loud enough to dance to, and it seemed most people were. Although, looking around most tables were filling up too. Just as she thought that, a boy sat down in a seat next to her. Honestly, before he sat down the empty chair was both a comfort and an embarrassment. She enjoyed being somewhat alone. Yes, there was someone sitting to the other side of her, but it was easy it turn and face the empty chair instead. However it chair beside her also showed the rest of the people at the event that she really was alone, and it seemed like no one wanted to sit by her. She tried not to think about it too hard.

But when the boy sat down she looked up at him. He worse a dark red vest and she became curious is he, like her, was repping his House in his outfit. She quite liked representing Slytherin in her dress. The boy looked young too, probably a first, maybe second year student. She had not seen him around. Though his hair looked somewhat familiar. Maybe he was in a class with her and she simply hadn't noticed. The outfits here tonight were certainly different than their normal school robes and so almost everyone looked changed.

As she watched the boy she found he was looking over across the room. She could not pinpoint who or what he was looking at as the Ballroom was huge and crowded at the moment. But his eyes seemed worried. She wondered if, again, like her, he was worried about all the dancing, or if he was worried about something else all together.

For some reason she decided to strike up a conversation. She had been getting a slight bit bored just sitting there. Although she was technically waiting for the food to be served. "I don't think we don't have to dance... She started, going with her original assumption of his worried look. "I'm just here for the free food, really. She chuckled at her stupid joke.

Ava looked at the people around her. Mostly girls, mostly girl she didn't know. But she didn't know many people at Hogwarts, so that wasn't a surprise. Most of the girls also had beautiful dresses - it also wasn't a surprise, if someone came here in something that wasn't beautiful, fancy and all that they'd probably be a laughing stock. Or maybe no, maybe they wouldn't. Maybe they would be considered unique and all that.

A lot of people joined the fun. No one was dancing yet, the students were mostly standing around and talking. Ava rolled her eyes. I am NOT dancing today. No. This dress... - she thought, looking down at her dress - was not made for dancing. Or it was, just for someone older. the girl rolled her eyes, thinking of Kate and what she had to have in her head to send Ava this monster dress.

Ava poured herself a glass of pumpkin juice, before turning around again to see more students enter the ballroom. One of them, she had to admit, had a beautiful hairstyle. Platinum blonde, almost white hair, combined with beautiful, red, roses and all that in a braid. Suddenly, the Slytherin felt embarrassed for not including that many color and beauty into her hair. She quickly shook the feeling off, smiling to herself.

The girl with the beautiful hair soon walked up to the food table Ava was by and poured herself a drink. Ava gently tapped her on the shoulder, trying to get her attention. "Hey, I really love your hairstyle." the girl smiled and looked at the girl again. The roses in the braid were complimenting her dress, which was also red. "A Gryffindor, huh?" she asked. She would actually wear more green than the necklace, but of course, her sister sent her this golden beauty and that was what happened.

"Oook. No problem! Umm, later I guess.." The girl didn't want to talk apparently, and had walked off and begun talking to someone else. Some guy. Dorothy shrugged it off. This was going to be fun! It had to be, with Dorothy there. Spinning around, she noticed that there were a lot more girls than boys. No wonder the girl in the pretty dress was eager to talk to one. This was to be expected of course. Most guys her age were probably holed up in their dormitories eating candy and making fart jokes. But Dorothy was eleven and she did not need a guy funking up her life. She had things strait, and knew how to have fun by herself. This was cool, but she felt like a bit more dancing would liven things up. She pulled her wand out of her pocket and slowly inched her way into the shadows. Pointing the long, elegant wand at a random student, she concentrated on the spell. She had practiced it a TON, and knew she could do it right. "Tarantallegra" D. whispered with a miscehievious grin. Her work complete, she tried not to giggle as someone randomly started dancing uncontrollably. Nope, never mind. Bad idea. She quickly stopped the spell. Better to save the mischief for later. She slunk into the shadows, knowing it was nearly impossible for someone to have seen her. Slipping her wand back into her dress pocket, she walked over to the refreshment table and busied herself with a blossom shaped cookie. Dorothy was a niiinjaaa!

Winifrey walked slowly into the ballroom, gripping her left wrist lightly in her right hand as she looked around nervously. She was supposed to meet up with her dorm mates, but it was looking like she was the first one here. Winifrey supposed she would just have to make do with what she had.

Walking in, the small brunette slowly spun in a circle as she took in the warm and lavishly decorated environment. It was absolutely stunning, definitely exceeding her expectations. When she was done admiring her surroundings, Winifrey turned to see if she could recognize anybody. There were some familiar faces, but none that she knew well enough. The twelve year old shrugged, figuring it was a good time now to maybe make some new friends.

Brushing her fingers over her light blue dress, she made her way to where the tables had been set up. Perhaps her friends would want her to save seats? Winifrey thought on it for a moment before shrugging her shoulders lightly to herself. They could choose seats once everyone had arrived. Plus, she had nothing to claim the table with. Unless she left a shoe.

Winifrey frowned at the thought. Probably not.

Sighing lightly to herself, the brunette made her way to the refreshment table, pulling a lock of hair to the side so she could play with one of the knotted flowers in it. It was done hastily by giggling girls. Winifrey used to do it when she was visiting family. You would tie the hair around small wildflowers before securing it with small scraps of twine. Winifrey had shared it with her friends and all were delighted with the idea.

So currently her hair was down, small wildflowers knotted into it. She rather liked it actually. Her dress, which she was quite thankful for, was sent by her mother. It was one of her old dresses from when she lived at the Fare estate before she went off to college. It was a rather pleasant delight to receive a rather long owl from her mother, apologizing for not writing to her daughter all year. But, the contents of the letter were still confusing to the young girl, as it seemed to lack any explanation at all.

She was reaching for a cup of punch when something crumpled on the inside of her dress. Winifrey started, almost spilling the drink, but she quickly saved it. She had forgotten that she had snuck her Herbology homework to the ball. She did not want to do it in the first place, but she was slightly behind and it needed to be done. Winifrey just needed to make sure that no one saw her while she was doing it. She patted her side where the papers were neatly folded. She was sure it did not look suspicious at all.

Winifrey picked up her glass, raising it to take a sip as she once again scanned the ballroom for any familiar faces. If she didn't find any, well, then she guessed it was Herbology homework for her.

Dress. It was a rather pricey dress her family had mailed her for the special occasion. Her hair was braided back with a few twist pins that had silver snowflakes on them. The giant frown on her face contradicted her elegant attire. She sighed as she marched straight towards the food table. Aravis hated dances, though she liked dancing and knew different dancing styles she didn't like full blown events. After all she was almost never asked to dance, no one ever wanted to dance with someone like her. Then again almost none of the kids at her fathers work events like to dance when they were young anyway.

Her cold blue eyes scanned the room for people she knew. She spotted Eri, who she attended a pure-blood school with when they were young along with Ami. Aravis didn't get along with her the first time they met unlike her brother whi seemed to like talking to her. She also saw Adam, she had talked to him some but not much. She didn't have enough courage to talk to any of them. She sighed finding a place to sit with a few cookies in her hand. Maybe if she was lucky someone she knew would ask her to dance or even talk to her.

Kaegen had showed up for the food, and was planning on staying for the food. His date was june 7th, neatly cut out of some poor calendar with a knife. He had shown it to a older student by the door, who had laughed at him and explained what a date was, and how it was different from the date in time Kaegen had thought was required to enter. It was explained to him that bringing a girl to the dance was not required, only encouraged.

Apparently, no one had followed that encouragement. Most of the people in here had gotten all dressed up and just wandered in with no rhyme or reason. They had no one to take them, they weren’t dancing with anyone, they all just seemed lost, like they expected boys to rain down from the ceiling and take them to the ball. What kind of messed up logic was that?

Kaegen’s eyes darted to the ceiling anyway, in case there was a multitude of men hanging from the rafters waiting to drift down on smooth ropes, but didn’t find any. It seemed almost ludicrous. One of the girls had a dress that seemed like nothing more than a bunch of silk ribbons, designed to make her freeze to death as soon as a cold draft stretched out it’s spidery grasp. All of them had hairstyles that must have taken them hours. That much wasted time to come and stand…

His mind couldn’t even comprehend it, could not grasp how they could be that empty headed. One thing he had learned was that a girl danced with a boy and you were supposed to dance at a ball. The only other reason to show your face was if you wanted to eat the food. He had come for the food, and it was obvious. His hair was unkempt, his eyes exhausted and glaring in front of him, set in a face that had obviously not been washed in a while. The head was perched on his grey scarf that seemed to be a part of the boy. The rest of him was covered by a large, burnt black school robe.

But now he was having second thoughts. Was there a beauty competition, or maybe getting all done up was mandatory. The sheer stupidity of coming and hoping to meet someone here was breathtaking, and unacceptable. Unless this was like a reverse mating dance, with the girls getting dressed up and standing about looking pretty, waiting for the drabber males to come and dance with them. It was the opposite of what he had observed in the wilds all his life, but it was one of the few reasons he could think of that actually made any sense.

And then a thought raced across his mind. If they saw him here, would they expect him to choose a partner, to judge between all of the girls just like the female birds did with the flashier males? He did not want anything to do with it, with any of these idiotic time-wasting birds he thought here people. Weren’t people supposed to be more sensible than the common robin?

Kaegen’s tired eyes darted with customary speed back towards the exit, but then back at the food. He would get out, but after he had eaten something. He had slept only a few hours that night, and had missed out on dinner. No one would even notice him.

Sticking out like a incredibly quiet sore thumb, Kaegen moved towards the food laden tables in his burned and melted black robes. The rest of the ball shone and sparkled along with the multitudes of students, save for the one dirty ravenclaw. He was like a dirty speck on a brillaint diamond. One of the select few at the ball that didn’t spend the last few hours working on the perfect outfit.

He would get some food, and then get out of there.

OOC: To Rosie Turner

The nervous expression on Howie’s face was immediately wiped away and his usual big grin returned as Rosie accepted his offer to dance. She was blushing again, but Howie didn’t mind, he  was just glad that she had said yes.

They had only been friends for a short while, but he had become very fond of her. When he had heard that there would be a ball, Rosie was the only name that came to mind when he thought about going to his very first dance.

Howie’s mind drifted back to the small living room in his family’s apartment above the bakery they owned in Manchester. His mother was teaching him to dance. She showed him where to place his hands and the simple steps.

They might not be the best dancers on the floor, but Howie was feeling confident that he could lead her. He stepped away from the wall and turned to stand in front of her. His mother’s voice rang in his head. Offer your partner your hand and lead her to the dance floor.

“Shall we then?” He asked as he reached his hand out to her, noticing she seemed a little timid. “Don’t worry Rosie, I’ll lead. It’ll be fun, I promise.”

The true extent of her excitement was something the young Bishop would never let be portrayed. Of course, her closest friends knew, but she would never allow strangers to. They would think her too 'emotional and sensitive,' something that Rhea's father taught her never to be. That was one piece of advice that Rhea heeded, no matter what. She heeded all of her father's advice, if she was to be honest. Her father was someone she respected, although he never paid much mind to her. To a stranger, that might sound depressing, but to Rhea the feeling was quite familiar. She'd never felt the love her parents (mostly her father, her mother showed love sometimes) and therefore, could not feel like she was missing anything. You can't miss something you never had, right?

Dances and parties were something Rhea was quite familiar with, although at first she absolutely hated them. However, over time, due to the plethora of parties she'd attended, she'd grown to like them. Now, instead of dreading them, Rhea loved the grueling process of getting ready and dreaded act of socializing. The best part of it all, she thought, was that she would get ready with her friends. Which she did; in the great dormitory of Lily Potter, the inhabitants all participated in getting ready for the ball. Rhea was the one who did most of the work, actually, since the other two that she helped (Eris Fawley and Sabrina Hurst) were quite inexperienced in the field of getting ready. She picked out their dresses and helped them get ready, before ultimately getting herself ready.

Her dress, albeit really poofy and having a small trail, fit her perfectly. Some would call it too inappropriate for an 11 year old, but that showed that they judged people way too quickly. Rhea thought that if one wanted to express something via clothes, they certainly could. It was no one's business - at least, from the redhead's experience. She remembered a few older women, in their 50s, making fun of her choice in dressing at one of her father's pureblood parties. In return to their comments, the little redhead had simply stuck out her tongue and walked away.

Now, looking over herself in the mirror, Rhea simply felt confident. The dress fit her like a glove, which was surprising, considering it had been her mother's when she was her age. Although held up by simply two thin straps, the gown rested comfortable on Rhea's body. It fit snugly right to her waist, before flaring out towards the ground. The entirety of it was embroidered with golden patterns, providing a beautiful gold-and-blue contrast.

Apart from the dress, Rhea had found multiple jewelry and had decorated herself with it. There was the family heirloom emerald necklace that, of course, Rhea placed around her neck and felt its coldness rest against her neck. Apart from that, she found  an emerald ear crawler, and with the help of the mirror, helped settle it around. Painting her nails and waiting for them to dry, Rhea found a beautiful bejeweled hand glove. It looked to be made of some expensive material, and it had a pinkish hue to it. The entirety of it resembled an intricate design that one would draw, and in Rhea's opinion, it fit perfectly with her dress. The blue and the pink matched very well together. She wrapped that around her right wrist, and looked for something to wrap around her left. Finding something of the same style but on a smaller scale (this time, only around her pointer finger and thumb), Rhea placed that on her hand. This one was of a silver colour, although it was most likely made of steel.

As a final piece, Rhea found a thin body chain that, with the help of her two Gryffindor friends, she managed to get on her back. There was a small part that wrapped around her throat, providing a sort of choker look effect, while the rest tumbled smoothly down her back. To Rhea's luck, the back of her dressed dipped quite a little, so at least some of the chain would be seen. Her hair she braided into a complex braid updo, taking out a few tendrils of hair to frame her face. Looking for something to complete the look, Rhea found some flowers she-or someone else-had picked and twisted them into her hair. All in all, she was happy enough with the results.

Seeing that she'd taken the longest to get ready (her helping everyone else caused a miscalculation in her time management) and so Rhea found herself running late to the ball. But of course, that was acceptable - it could be a 'fashionably late' sort of grand entrance. Gathering up the front of her gown, as to make sure not to trip, Rhea had run out of her dorm and made her way to the ball, her slight heels clicking against the stone floors. On her way, she bumped into the rest of her friends - Sabrina, Eris, and Rosie. Together, the four of them made their way towards the Ballroom, helping each other not to trip on their gowns. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to wear such lengthy dresses.

The redhead struggled to open the double doors, seeing as they were heavy and made of wood and she was holding up her dress; but eventually, she got in done and in the four went, laughing. Scouting around, Rhea tried to see if the boy she had planned to come with was there or not. The two knew each other enough to consider each other acquaintances; not best friends but not strangers, either. They planned to come with each other because to be frank, Rhea had no one else.

Eyes wide with excitement, Rhea made her way to the food table, picking up a plate and walking around in order to find something good to eat. She saw multiple others around, but she didn't know any of th- wait, was that who she thought it was? With a great big smile, Rhea blurted out a small, "I'll be back," at her friends, and ran--well, walked briskly, because one can't possibly run in that dress--to the raven-haired girl. Upon closer inspection, Rhea found that it was indeed who she thought it was - Katya Petrov, a girl who'd she'd known for what seemed like forever. Poking the black-haired girl's shoulder, Rhea waited for the girl to turn around in order to hug her properly.

There were other people in the ballroom, people that Rhea knew. Of course, there were her friends Sabrina, Rosie, and Eris, who she planned to spend most of the night with. Unless they all had dates, in which case Rhea would either go talk with Adam or eat some food. Although, it seemed like the blonde was a bit preoccupied, as he was talking to another redhead. Seriously, what was it with redheads and Hogwarts? Rhea realized that the girl was actually Amadea, a girl who Rhea was familiar with. Who wouldn't be, if you'd saved each other from an evil plant? Debating whether to go over to the pair or not, Rhea decided not to - she would save that for a different part of the evening. Finding a parcel of food that she liked (which just happened to be some rice pudding; it was Rhea's favourite dessert), Rhea picked it up and bit into it. Swallowing it down (and making sure not to choke, because she knew people around wouldn't save her) Rhea made sure her mouth was empty before she spoke.

"I'm glad you came to the ball," Rhea said, possibly startling the other girl. "How are you? I haven't seen you in so long, we have so much to catch up on." Tilting her head, Rhea looked over the raven-haired. Her dress was green, possibly to represent her family origins. Rhea's heart ached but she pushed it away, determined not to dwell on any negative thoughts. Instead, she turned her attention to Katya and looked around, wondering if she'd come here with anyone. "Did you come here with anyone?"

Smiling as she waited for a response, Rhea bit into her treat again, the taste splashing over her taste buds and a feeling of content settling over her. Her eyes wandered, trying to see if there was anyone else particularly familiar she had yet to say hello too. There was Anatole, but she didn't know him very well - all she knew was that he was Rosie's best friend, and was supposed to dance with her. If they were going to dance together, Rhea didn't know for sure.

No one else particularly cau-wait, who was that girl? It was a blonde, and she practically shined in the light of the bright chandelier. Rhea was impressed with the fact that the girl had gone all out, seeing as very few had that amount of courage. Making a note in her mind to talk to her eventually, Rhea looked at Katya again. She hadn't seen the girl in a pretty long time, seeing as the both had been pretty busy with just life in general; now that they got a chance to finally talk again, Rhea was going to seize it without a doubt.

She had never been to a ball before, never even heard of balls as something celebrated outside of story book worlds, but there was one thing that Eris knew. she was supposed to be graceful and eloquent. Girls who wore dresses as nice as Eris's were supposed to be graceful and eloquent, yet all the small girl could think about was the stupidity of the lacy tool at the bottom of her dress, rubbing at her exposed legs and making her feel rather uncomfortable, as she hobbled down the steps of the stairs leading to the grand ballroom, small heels clacking on every step as the girl tried in vain to lower herself down the stairs, without making a total fool of herself. Without heels and miles of fluff making every step a challenge, walking down the stairs was hard enough for the small Fawley. But with the added challenge? Eris could hardly walk, lagging behind her three friends, as they traversed down the stairs, excited balls of energy.

Lip curling into a pout, Eris huffed and flung herself down on the step, sitting down with a thud. The layers of tool and fabric spread out around her, making a cupcake shaped cloud around the stairs as Eris leaned down into the mess of fabric, and kicked out her legs, yanking them out of the twisted yards of fabric encasing everything that she could see. Glaring at the twin pairs of golden heels, Eris looked down to make sure Rhea, Sabrina, and Rosie weren't looking before yanking the heels off her feet, with a blessed sigh of relief. With a look of disgust, Eris flung the heels down the steps and watched the fall to the bottom of the stairway, vanishing into a dark corner that the girl couldn't squint her eyes into, when there were far more important things to attend too. Such as the group of friends waiting at the bottom of the stairs for the fourth member of their party to join them.

Standing up, feet free of the burden and struggle of heels, Eris was able to walk without wobbling. Smoothing out the light blue dress, hands catching on the golden flowerlike embellishments, Eris felt a grudging sense of love for the dress. Even though it was painfully uncomfortable, and about four sizes too big for the small girl, it truly was lovely. It was the kind of dress that a princess would wear, and Eris was rapidly feeling more and more like a princess. If she was able to step down the stairs without falling over her dress, that was.

Staggering down the last of the steps, Eris's bare feet caught on the train of her dress and she felt herself tumble forward, falling into the ground with a loud thud and a painful prickling feeling in her ankles, back, and legs. Face turning red with mortification, Eris propped herself up and stood up, grinning sheepishly at her clumsiness and lack of experience around walking in ballgowns and balls in general.

Thanking her lucky stars Rhea hadn't spotted Eris's lack of shoes, and her feet, which were already covered in dirt from her walk down the stairs, Eris walked carefully towards the double doors of the Ballroom, as Rhea pulled them open. Letting out a breathless laugh, Eris stepped into the Ballroom, exposing herself to a whirlwind of colors and people. Even though everything was so different, down to the different colors of the dresses, to the decorations in the ballroom. Somehow, it fit perfectly together in a way that Eris couldn't express out loud, but that she respected nonetheless.

Everyone in the room looked beautiful, and Eris felt self conscious of herself for a split second, before her thoughts turned to other things, as she was unable to dwell on negative thoughts for longer than a second. Especially in a room as beautiful as the Ballroom. Eyes scanning the tables, which were immaculately laid out with flowers and pink and purple table cloths. Smile growing on her face, Eris nodded goodbye to Rhea, who had slipped away from Sabrina, Rosie, and Eris to visit another girl who was clad in green. Eris couldn't see her face, and had no idea who the girl was from the behind, but assumed she was nice enough, if Rhea chose to go talk to her.

On that note, Where was Max? Eris searched the ballroom for the taller boy and couldn't find him. Of course he was late. Why wouldn't he be? Time? That wasn't something that the immortal Max Avery needed. Cheeks heating, as she realized Max wasn't there yet, Eris sighed. Typical Max. He would have to make up for being late with a particularity dramatic entrance, or something along the lines of that. While looking for the Gryffindor boy, Eris spotted the faces of many other students that she knew, and her smile grew even bigger, forgetting her disappointment that Max had vanished off the face of the earth. She couldn't find Adam though, which was strange. She assumed he would be there, and that he would be easy to find due to his obscenely unfair height. Oh well. Maybe he was running late too, or seated somewhere.

Muttering goodbye to Sabrina and Rosie, Eris hitched up the large skirts of her dress and made her way to the food table, spotting a familiar face in a second. A laugh came forth through Eris's lips, as she spotted one of her best friends adorned in black robes, looking sorely out of place in the whirlwind of color that surrounded them.

Only one boy would be that out of place.

Kaegen blah blah blah scarf dude Deathmote.

Staggering over her feet, nose squinted in determination, Eris's bare feet smacked against the cold floor as she made her way over to Kaegen, viciously attempting not to trip and fall over herself. Making her way over to Kaegen, the girl felt herself tripping more than once. When she finally reached her friend, Eris grabbed his shoulder to steady herself. She could care less who he was, the point was that she needed someone to steady herself with so that she didn't fall and kill herself in a stampede of dresses and dancing.

"Kaegen, you look dead inside." Eris proclaimed, as a greeting, eyes darting around the expanse of the ballroom, in an attempt to find more people that she knew.
