Ever since the incident with bird brain in the halls Elsian had found he liked the little hollows and weird spaces hidden away in plain sight. Surely he hadn't found all of the corridors secret nooks and crannies but the boy didn't really need to, nor was there a want either as between the 2 hollows he’d found hidden behind tapestries Elsian had found all he would want from the corridors little secrets.
Both were far away from the other, there were probably more in-between for the Gryffindor to find but both were perfectly located on opposite ends of where he needed to get to and fro on a daily basis in the end that's all he needed. Now when the halls got crowded, he had a place to hunker down in and read until the worst of it passed, no more dodging elbows, no more tripping over fallen bags, and no more ducking through spells when some idiot tried to show off or play a prank on a friend.
It was perfect, peaceful and great for hiding. Like right now.
In the mostly empty corridors of a weekend evening Elsian, who could count the times he'd willingly done so on a single hand, was dead sprinting as hard as he could like his life depended on it. One would think there was another troll in the dungeon with the way he ran like a dead man but the reality was a botched prank, a severe miscalculation on his part but on the bright side the ‘water gun’ worked! Too bad the power capsules gummed it up. It wasn't like he meant to hit anyone with the orange powder, at least...not them. But he underestimated the gun's sensitivity and the powder capsules were only on his 2nd attempt at making them!
That didn't matter to the angry kids he'd hit though and he sure as hell didn't fancy detention or whatever they wanted with him…
It was how he ended up with orange powder dusting his jeans and the bottom of his boots and a messy orange covered water gun wrapped in his thoroughly ruined hoodie. He probably would have lost the sooner but it'd taken a whole flight of stairs to lose the long enough to pry the shoes trying to condemn him via orange footprints.
He sighed, a rather breathless thing as he nudged away the familiar tapestry with an elbow to avoid leaving any colorful evidence as he ducked inside the little alcove. Disappearing from the halls like a ghost.
”They just don't give up” He grumbled under his breath, wincing at the sound of a door opening and slamming in the distance.
Shoving his ruined shoes and wrapped sweater water gun into the furthest corner he hunkered down for a much needed breather, eyeing the sliver of light finding its way under the banner. It was impossible to tell just how long he sat hunched there listening to the sounds get further and further, not too long, definitely not more than 5 maybe 6 minutes but it felt like forever. Eventually, slowly, he uncurled from his slump, tugging at the frayed edge of the tapestry and carefully peeking out when he mounted to 60 and no more yells or slams echoed down the halls. He didn't see anyone but that hardly meant Elsian felt confident to make a run for it to the dorms. He was tired, and had already run all the way from the courtyard to get here; no, he figured he was in for the long term before he could be sure.
And then there was a yell.
Loud and angry and accompanied by the echo of shoes smacking the stone floors. Elsian flinched away, dropping the fabric between his fingers like it had shocked him and quite suddenly he was practically holding his breath as he silently shuffled back when light but no less hurried footsteps stopped not a few feet from where he hid and perhaps against better judgment Elsian peeked out to see if it was one of the people he'd hit and-
It wasn't but he knew him. And there was an oddness about the boy looking hurried and winded like he'd been caught.
He ducked back when Henry turned around abruptly, hesitating as a million different scenarios ran through his head screaming and running wild like a headless chicken. With a mix of perhaps stupidity and pure thoughtless action he made a knee jerk decision. Reaching out with the knowledge that the other was either on the run like Elsian himself or in a seriously intense game of tag, Elsi snatched onto Henry's arm and the back of his shirt dragging him into the abyss until the tapestry settled in motionless silence. Leaving an empty space where the boy had been.
“Quiet!” he shushed, practically silent. Hopefully silent enough as angry footsteps seemed to stop, then storm past them aggressive enough to make the tapestry ruffle the tiniest bit.

The teen had a slight mischievous grin on his face, classes were out for the day and the there wasn't a pratice or study session planned for a few hours so the teen saw it as a good time to cause a lottle mischief. As long as one doesn't get cuaght then is it really breaking the rules?
Loki followed his onwer, amber eyes glancing up as the teen walked the corriors looking for a target. Henry was never one to pull a prank or cause mischief alone, usually doing it with a friend or the pranking group he belonged to but alone? Never. The teen never thought of himself as mischievous or a troublemaker, his anxiety thundering overhead. Starting to regret causing mischief alone.
Nearing a classroom, the teen pulled out his mayhaw wand from his jacket pocket. Preferring harmless pranks that deal with wands and magic rather then items. The teen peeked arpind the corner, within seemed to be a group of four large blokes best in their fifth or sixth year.
The teen aimed his wand at each of their clothes as he muttered"Multicorfors," slowly each of the four lad's clothes turned a bright and eye hurting shade of yellow and pink. A soft smile, with the final the charm cast the teen thought he just have pulled his first solo prank and got away. A step backward, the door creaked opened a bit and Henry watched as the four turned his way.
Sliding on the floor, Henry ran through the halls nearly tripping over his feet trying his best to put distance between himself the the colorful yet angry blokes chasing him.
The teen continued to run but was starting to feel his energy drain, his chest burning for air knowing well that running isn't a steong suit of his. His pace slowing as he neared a banner, the teen felt as if stopping but knew he couldn't when suddenly someone grabbed his arm and shirt.
Struggling as he thought it was those as he was pulled into the abyss then heard a voice. A command. Nodding slightly as he faintly recognized the voice of Elsian Cox. A faint nod as Loki crawled behind the darknees as well, sitting besides his onwer.
The teen peeked through the tapestry abd decided to offer some help, aiming his wand at the first person he would see... one covered in powder it seems as he whispered"Muffliato," a moment before turning toward the gryffindor as he spoke"he won't be able to hear our whsipers, thanks I owe you one."

That was a relief. He was a fool not to have thought of something similar sooner!
Relief flooded him, chasing away the stiff icy feeling in his spine like a warm fire and he sighed. Slumping against the stone wall and letting it carry his weight as he slid down onto the ground. curling up tightly as if that would make their hiding place bigger somehow. Even now after a break he didn't think he had it in him to make it through another chase. Not yet.
Peering up at the other from behind unruly hair Elsian wondered, briefly, what the other could have done to warrant this. Obviously, Henry had done something bad, nobody was running like that unless they had something to run from. Hopefully it wasn't too bad. Elsian didn't fancy having to run from 2 angry groups in one day.
But then again, he didn't have much room to speak did he?
Resolutely he avoided looking at the orange sweater hiding his heap of destroyed evidence. Even now the knowledge of his failure burned like his poor legs after running up all those stairs; if only he'd been aiming at Willow. The Gryffindor would have only suffered his friends vengeance, maybe prank or detention, not dead sprinting.
Elsian smiled then shrugged. "It's fine, thanks for not elbowing me when I grabbed you." Lesser people would have, Elsian himself might've cuffed the Slytherin on the nose had things been reversed. It was better this way.
"What did you do anyways? I could hear the yells from here, they sounded pissed."
Those last few yells had not been for his blood he was sure, thank you very much. For one they'd come in the wrong direction of where he'd lost, or well- had lost his own pursuers. Had as in the smell of flour wafting from where Henry had peeked out pointed to them having caught up. They were apparently still angry then.
Which...okay fair.
"I don't suppose the person out there isn't covered in orange?" It couldn't hurt to be a little hopeful.

The area was quite small and contained faint light but the teen didn't mind either, his wolf senses aiding with both as he drew in a breath. Eyes flickered onto Elsian figure. Flour and orange dye? Curious what the gryffindor did, the teen slipped his wand in a inner pocket of his jacket.
Loki sat besides his onwer, amber eyes peering out. The feline remained still, whiskers flickering a tad as footsteps were heard from the corridor followed by shouts and fits of anger.
The teen felt himself peek through the banner, two angry and quite large groups. Neither what the lad was expecting and now regretting doing a solo prank, acts of lone mischief doesn't seem to be his specialty.
The teen nodded, eyas flick back toward the gryffindor. Doubting his ability or strength to elbow him as he nodded. Eyss landing on his sweater, the smell of the powdee filled his nostrils as he held in a sneeze.
The teen peeked out, ensuring lads wearing a rainbow of clothes weren't apporching before turning toward Elsian as he spoke"cast a charm to change their clothes into pink and yellow. Simple, I know but I'm better suited for group pranks rather than solo," the teen offered a small wearily anile before nodding toward the gryffindor's own clothes as he asked"and you? What did you do to cause that and the screaming blokes out there?" Curious. The teen hadn't known that the boy caused mischief or pulled pranks, well actually he knew barely little of the lad.
A peek through the banners, Elsian's words. The flash of yellow leaving and the stains of orange powder on the ground from who have been there. A small shake as he spoke"were both in the clear for now but who knows, they may return."

Gaze flickering down to the cat Elsi hesitantly toed the fabric on the ground as the other peeked through the banner, the ruined sleeve plopping soundlessly all the further away for his efforts. It was probably fine but the Slytherin could probably do without his cat getting annoyed with the orange goop getting stuck in the cat's fur.
At the other boy's small nod he winced, barely holding back a whine at the news. He’d really screwed hadn't he? “Are you kidding me?”
Aimlessly he watched the sliver of light pooling against the floor between them in a thin strip, listening to the hisses of anger and harsh frustrated tones that seemed to pace back and forth through the halls. Hunched then loud, and so many voices. Apparently Henry's victims had caught up too then. He breathed quietly, ears straining to track the footsteps scuffing against stone when he couldn't be bothered to try peeking out from behind their hiding place and he wrapped his arms around his knees tightly. Maybe they were fighting, arguing; he couldn't tell unlike Henry, but it was a better thought to swallow than the groups teaming up for a manhunt of 2…
Elsian looked at the cat, pondering, 3 if you counted the cat.
Henry got a funny look for his words, snatching Elsi’s attention from the Slytherins pet. That didn't sound too bad. There had to be more to it than that for how angry they sounded right? Pink and yellow weren't that bad. “I-'' He paused, trailing off as his fingers carefully plucked at the corners to peek out. Curiosity getting the better of him.
Silence.
And then a strangled sound left him. Eyes wide he smacked a hand over his mouth as he choked on a laugh, muffling what would have been an aggressive cackle to a snicker that threatened to make his eyes water. He didn't know what he’d expected, but this particular shade of bright pinks and yellow hadn't been it. “Thats horrible!” He gasped. “Bloody eyesore is what it is, no wonder they’re so pissed!”
Laughter fizzling out, he followed the Slytherins gaze, a hand smoothing down the wrinkled gray of his t-shirt. Some of the orange had even made it there apparently; his hand dropped, humor fading the slightest bit. “Oh.” He’d almost forgotten what a mess he must've looked like. “I uh-” he coughed, waving away some floury dust from around his face, “it was an accident really but-”
Unbidden his eyes trailed down to the powder on his pants, following to the lump of ruined things in the corner. “I may have shot them with gooey orange flour capsules…” Straightening, or as much as one could sitting as he was, Elsi reached for the sweater and gingerly dragged the modified water gun out to reveal the hodgepodge of duct tape, paint, and pieces he’d torn off a broken paintball gun littering the thing. All covered in orange powder and a thick goop that looked like it'd overflowed from the ammo holder. “I didn't realize how sensitive the trigger was,” he defended with a sheepish look, carefully rewrapping it more securely from where it started to unravel, “and the capsules…exploded when I dropped it.”
Merlin forbade his parents from finding out what he's done with the junk his aunt sent; he’d run for a reason. If they found out he’d be grounded for life.
“I can’t believe they’re still after me,” he groaned, head thudding against the hall as he put down the sweater and gun, “they’ve been after me since the courtyard!” Couldn't they just use a spell? Surely it hadn't hurt them, it was a water gun for crying out loud! Why were they so angry?
Well, at least he could clean his shoes now. Dragging out his wand he was quick to spell the worst of the mess away, a quick, “Scourgify,” doing the trick. He was all too happy to shove his decidedly less orange boots back on before shoving himself up at Henry's words.
“We should probably go then,” he sighed, grabbing his stuff. The water gun remained safely wrapped in the sweater, despite the spell the last thing they needed was for someone to recognize the water gun and rat them out. “Before they come back and all; I don't think I can survive dead sprinting anymore flights of stairs.”

Loki eyed the orange covered lad, amber eyes tentatively watching with a flick of his tail. He remained still, head held high the equivalent of judging another at least for a feline. This one stared at both boys, judging them and their mischievous deeds.
Henry placed his wand in the inner pocket of jacket, leaning close to the banner. An attempt to remain behind the cloak of darkness as he peeked a eye out, watching the corriors for the bodies of either prank victims.
Henry took a step back followed by a breath, he didn't see anyone and was hoping that they gave up. He didn't know how many Elsian pranked but would have preferred not to remain in hiding for the rest of the night with his judging eyed feline and Elaine armed with a orange powder filled watergun.
The teen felt his gaze flick toward Elsian, squinting a little as the darkness of the area caysed his vision to become slightly buried. The cut off words. The teen looked away, he figured it was a lame prank and reminded himself again... why he shouldn't pull them alone...
Henry brushed back a few hairs as wondered if he could make a run for it, he was regretting not making up a better act of mischief and would have rather not have Elsian laugh.... too late... Henry felt his eyes move toward him, laughing but then his words? Maybe it wasn't that terrible of a prank.... Henry smiled slightly, his gaze squinting back on Elsian.
The teen wouldn't have imagine that he could pull a prank alone. Maybe he contained more mischief than he thought... the teen listened, a part of him figuring that Elsian is the veteran prankster among the two.
"Accident," Henry questioned as hw eyed his clothes, covered in orange but he had a feeling the other blokes have it worse. Henry felt his eyes widen, staring at the lad as he wondered where he got the orange powder and water type gun.
The teen found himself smiling softly, thinking how a bit of magic could have covered a lot more as he spoke"wicked, I bet they have it worse anyway," Henry refrained from laughing as he compared the orange powder to Loki's fur.
Elsian started to make a case, defend why he was covered in powder and mentioning how it contains a sensitive tigger. Henry smiled at the lad, he nodded toward him as he spoke"things happen but you pulled the prank, thay is the important part and the prank sounds bloody brilliant," smiling. He couldn't imagine coming up or even doing an idea like Elsian's pranks but could perhaps assit... like he does with every other prank...
Henry perked his ears up, eyeing Elsian through the shadows. He couldn't imagine running for that one... he imagined himself running our of breath half way and tripping over his feet landing him right in front of the blokes feet. Henry eyed Elsian as he spoke"since the courtyard? Bloody hell their persistent but your some runner El- uh Elsian," a smile toward the gryffindor. Who knew the house of red and gold contained blokes who were fun and genuine people, not just gits such as Alec. The teen smiled a bit at the lad.
Henry dusted himself and Loki off as Elsian cast the cleaning charm, at least now no one will notice them based off of the "orange lad". The teen nodded toward the gryffindor as he spoke"leaving sounds good, I don't think I have enough in me to run anymore either," lacking in physical strength but making up in mental strength didn't help in running away or escaping physical trouble.
Thw teen peeked out, didn't see anyone as he spoke"looks like were clear," he would take a step back so Elsian could peek, his gaze settle on the gryffindor as he spoke"any other hiding areas we can run to? Can always tey our chances hiding in the stairs."

Brilliant eh?
“I guess so,” he agreed halfheartedly. “Although, I could have done without running for my life,” he joked with a smile, tugging at the tapestry and slinking back into the brightly lit hall as the coast was clear.
He took a step, and then another, ears stringing in the silence for the sounds of footsteps or voices as he peered down the hall. Nothing. How lucky, but who knew if that would last. Call him paranoid, running up so many stairs with a group after you did that! “And I don't feel much like a runner,” he grumbled, eyeing the other with a dramatic huff, “my legs feel like jelly.” Still, better to start walking now over a possible 2nd chase, they could rest when they were in the clear.
But hiding places, hiding places… Feeling a bit nervous he tapped his foot before he could stop it, shoving strands of hair from his eyes roughly; annoying. Outside was a total no go, at least for Elsian. So were the lower levels, not unless they wanted to risk going down the same halls, they’d just seen at least a good handful of the people they were trying to avoid disappear to! So only 2 options, keep to this floor or go higher. But there was no telling if they'd just get chased down again or corner-
Oh!
“The trophy room,” he blurted, whirling on his heel to look at Henry with an excited look. “There’s a passage to one of the higher floors,” the 4th floor he though, but he couldn't recall in the heat of the moment, “it’s behind one of the paintings, c’mon!” He grinned, footsteps light as he led the way down the halls. If they used it they’d be able to cover way more ground for an easy getaway.
“We might have to make a dash for it if they see us-” a solemn truth, no way around it.
“-but we’ll have an easy time getting another floor away from them at least! It’d also let us get to one of the rehearsal rooms.” Why the rehearsal room went unsaid for obvious reasons. If they locked a door people could typically assume it was in use by a club or something and not 2 boys on the run. And usually nobody wanted to be the one to charge into a rehearsal room being used, it was plain rude. Then again…
Would Henry even want to go with his weird plan? It was kinda risky, but then again, so was staying on this floor. Let alone aimlessly wandering and hoping to not get caught.
“It’s up to you if you wanna come, but I’m trying that hidden shortcut. Then hitting a rehearsal room or even the room of requirement if I gotta.” He paused, tilting his head towards the Slytherin as if to gauge his interest. “You still in?”

Nodding. The teen couldn't agree more, he would have taken the nom running option if he could. The teen may appear lean and skinny but physically he couldn't run for more than a few minutes... 10 at best then at 11 he's starting to struggle where it goes down hill from there.
The teen leaned back aginest the wall, allowing Elsian to peeek through the curtains. The darkness crept in, his eyes now squinting for the bit of light thay can be seen as his breaths slowed from before. Eyes flickering toward the golden specks that danced in the raven hair of the gryffindor boy.
Smiling toward his words, inhaling as he pushed back some strands of hair before exhaling and speaking"I'm not a runner neither," leaning aginest the wall as he dramatically sigh, " I feel like I'm made of lead and jello..." specks of laughter escaped as he eyed the lad. Something about him was upbeat and friendly... positive.
The teen knew they couldn't stay there, the longer they did the higher a chance someone could find them and largen the group chasing him and Elsian and Loki... the teen looked toward him at the sudden shout of the trophy room. The teen nodded to his words, passage on the higher floors... behind a painting... wait he's going?!
Henry followed behind, lightly but quickly moving his steps to stay close amd behind Elsian as Loki paddled forward on soft paws. Not even making a whsiper of sound. The teen nodded, listening as he ran the facts through his mind. There was a small percentage of getting caught as they walked to the next hiding spot but also a good chance of evading the grouos depending on how many steps is between them the others.
Following Elsian with Loko bounding behind him, when Elasin spoke his final words. Asking if Henry is still in, still with him. The teen nodded, smiling softly as he spoke"course I'm in." Following Elasin toward the stairs, with Loki following him. Giving the gryffindor a nod with a light smile.
