Sophia Montgomery wrote: Sophia sat at a table, waiting for a partner to join her. No wonder barely anyone wanted to be in her group - she was a plain, dull, boring know-it-all. She stared absent-mindedly at the large cauldron sitting in front of her. It had nothing in it; Sophia had no one with her. This was really frustrating - she only knew maybe around seven people in her year, and maybe nine in total in the whole school. If only someone actually wanted to socialise with her as she usually made the first move in small-talk or a conversation
Jenna walked in to the Potions room uneasily. She wasn't sure where to sit. She looked around for a moment, then saw a girl sitting all by her self. Perfect. Someone like me! I hope...
So Jenna walked over to the girl.
"Um... hi? Is this seat taken?" She asked slowly. It didn't look taken, and the girl didn't seem to be waiting on anyone to return, so she didn't wait for a response and plopped down in the seat. Jenna dropped her stuff next to her and pulled her textbook from her bag. Hopefully she would make a friend.

Sophia went from slumped in seat with crossed arms to straight back and hands in lap. "Hello. Would you like to work together in this assignment?" she asked, biting her lip awkwardly. She had a terrible habit of biting her lip when stressed or anxious. Sophia turned to the girl by her side. Obviously by sitting next to her, she wanted to work with Sophia, right? Sophia tucked in her chair and lay her hands on the wooden desk. "I'm Sophia Montgomery. I'm very advanced in potion knowledge for your information, so I know how to do this. Easy Peasy!" She smiled her usual famous smile and knew in her mind that she came off as maybe a little vain or show-offish but didn't wipe the smile off her face. She turned to the cauldron stiffly and cleared her throat - it was just a disguise to wipe the smile off her face without showing she was slightly embarrassed.

Sophia pulled out her Year 1: Easy-Peasy Potions book from her bag, which was hanging on the back of her chair. She opened it up to the index, located the potion they were supposed to begin concocting this lesson and flipped to its page number

Kat was sitting at a table in the back, no one else was sitting beside her but it didn't matter too much since she knew how to make the potion. She looked at her cauldron, slightly annoyed, though she was good at potions, she didn't like making them as much as she did testing them, and to see steam come out of someone's ears would be amazing, especially if they had gotten mad about it. Kat got up out of her seat and started on the potion, her hands working quickly though she acted as though she wanted to just go back to sleep.

Kat kept going over the information for the potion in her head, Bicorn horn, Mandrake root, causes steam to come out of ears, relives or cures cold symptoms, was invented by Linfred of Stinchcombe but Glover Hipworth made the modern version. She kept thinking of that, rolling her eyes at herself. All I do is read and now I know how to make a potion off the top of my head? I'm turning into a nerd.
It means you fabulous and smart, I'm sure many people wish they could do what you do. Said a second voice. Kat had a voice in her head that she tells no one about, knowing that it's not normal, not even in the wizarding world. Kat flicked her hair to the side, making sure it covered her one red eye so that only her black one was visible to anyone.
Whatever you say...

"So far, I've been late to all my classes...And this one...Well it's no different..." Said Siege barging in lazily eyeing the teacher, teaching the class.  "Sorry for being late, ya see..." Said Siege, and before he could finish the instructor just raised his hand to silence and continued to do his instructor-y things, or so Siege thought.
This is a class way down here? It's quite cramped...But anyways, I guess I'll sit here...In the back, perfect! My favorite spot! Huh? Pepper Up? What's that? The book says..."Pepper-Up Potion is a potion that cures the common cold. When drank, it has a side-effect that causes steam to come out of the drinker's ears for several hours"...What? That's pretty useful...but...That side effect though, might be a pain...
Siege opened up the the instructions page and began to try to brew the potion. He has never done this before, only knowing how to read and follow, exactly what he needed to do, though focusing, he would begin to mutter to himself as he was making the potion.
"Hmn...put that...pointy looking thing...inside this...thing...grind it up. Yeah, sounds right...Uh, put that in there...yeah sounds about right! Oops two times it says! Crap, put that again...Hmn..This looks important...It looks freaking creepy AF...better throw that in there...Uh oh...Light it up? More than happy to...*Lights it up normally* Crap, It won't work right now?? Agh, anyways...where was I?"
Siege was actually focusing and kind of enjoying himself. He didn't know what the things were and only went by looks, which was an excitement to the ignorant boy, who know nothing of potion making. "Huh? Thirty Minutes? That's freaking long...Well, better just chill then..." Muttered Siege in an exahsted sigh. Today's been long hasn't it??

The young Hufflepuff was really struggling to get to her classes on time... So far, it's been a total flop.  It wasn't even her fault this time.  Even when she didn't oversleep, she would end up getting lost.  Sometimes, she did oversleep - which was entirely her fault.  But Hogwarts was also a maze!  How was she supposed to know where anything was?  It didn't help that the stairs moved too!  She thought she went the right way but then the staircase move and it threw her bearings completely off.

Sighing, the girl walked through the corridors as she looked around.  At the very least, she was on the basement floor, so she must have been close... right?  Hearing a lot of noise, Serena looked over to the classroom approaching on the right.  She noticed people with giant cauldrons, attempting to make something.  Well that certainly looks like potions class... Hopefully it's the first years? She wondered as she approached the class.  Her gaze fell onto the professor, who was on the other side of the room looking into someone's cauldron.  Perfect timing! She thought as she sneaked in and quickly made her way to the back of the room.  How the heck do I figure out what people are making?  Wait- Eurgh, I need a partner, don't I? Serena thought to herself as she noticed that most people seemed to be working in partners, conjuring up... something.  She had no idea what exactly.

Serena's gaze suddenly fell onto the troublemaker that she knew so well!  Well, she knew his name and had met him a few times - that counts, right?  Either way, it was perfect.  He could tell her what was going on - assuming he had listened to the professor, which she was hoping he had.  "Siege!" She called out - not too loudly, as she didn't want to catch the professor's attention - as she approached him, "Hey, any idea what we're meant to be doing?" She asked as she glanced over to try and see what he was doing.  As expected, he also sat at the back - which worked out perfect for her.

"Huh? *Looks up* Oh, it's Serena! Come back here for me eh?" Siege casually points out, before checking the time once more. Hmn...A few more minutes huh? Well...Best wait a bit more...
"Uh, I dunno something called Pepper up potion?" Said Siege, leaning back a bit in a more relaxed state.  "Oof, it's been thirty!" Siege would exclaim, then would begin to mutter to himself, a technique that kind of helps him focus.
"Hh...Some weeds in there...oops it says two! Add another one...Uh...Where's that stir...It says...Clockwise?... One...Two...Three...Aaand, Four...Uh...What the hell? What's that Red Vial? Is that what I think it is? It's...From the book, it says...Salamander blood! Uh...That's kind of weird, but what the hell...uh two more stirs...Wait! It's the other direction!!! Uh, yeah two more...And, what the hell are these...These must be what the book calls...Fire Seeds...It also says...Put in carefully?...Aight, here goes nothing...One...Two...Three...Four...All of em are in!...Uh...Oh the last direction! Finally, let's make things explode! Oh...Just says to wait for a minute..." Said Siege a bit disappointed, although leaning back care-freely, and resting his head a bit. Huh...That was actually pretty fun...I wonder when we'll get to make explosive potions? Do they exist? If they do...Can we make em' here?!!!!

Serena rolled her eyes at Siege playfully, before laughing, "Oh of course, I just follow you around.  It's not like we have the same classes or anything, oh no.  I just really like attending extra classes, just so I can see you." She replied, her voice dripping in sarcasm.  He had made the reference that she was following him around, turning up to things just for him and basically a stalker enough times for her to know that he wasn't serious about it.  Well... at least, she hoped not.

"Pepper-Up Potion...? What's it do?" She asked him, though not actually expecting an answer.  Rummaging through her own bag, she pulled out her copy of Magical Drafts and Potions, which was one of the books on the supply list.  Serena scanned through the index page, until she found the right page.  Turning her book to the Pepper-Up Potion page, she started to read about it.  A potion that cures the common cold... Geez, she needed to live off this thing!  She was always ill.  Reading, she noticed a side-effect that consisted of steam coming out of the drinker's ears for a few hours... well that didn't sound pleasant.

The girl scanned the ingredients list and dropped the book onto her table as she grabbed some ingredients from the shelves.  She started to follow the instructions slowly.  Taking the Bicorn Horn, she place a small piece into the mortar and began to crush it.  "You okay there?" Serena asked as she quirked an eyebrow in Siege's direction. The boy's mouth was moving, as though he was taking under his breathe.  He looked like he was almost complete, so she was definitely very behind, "Geez, how much of class did I miss?!" She asked.  Even Siege was here before she was!  That must be bad.

Taking a pinch of the now finely crushed powder, she added it into her cauldron before quickly following it with another one.  Serena grabbed the Mandrake Root that she had left on the desk and added it into the cauldron before turning the heat on medium for a few seconds and leaving it to brew.  Sighing, she noted that the brewing stage was going to take thirty minutes... "Well that explains why you were just sitting there." She said, shrugging as she sat down on the chair and gazed around the class.  There was, sadly, no way for her to make this part go faster.  "Can I pretend I helped you with yours instead?" She asked Siege, half jokingly.  The professor was definitely going to notice if she was the only one who hadn't almost finished!

"Sure. It doesn't matter to me... s'long I completed it!"
In truth, Siege didn't really care. He just wanted something done. For some reason he found Potions Class to be extremely entertaining. Hearing things like "In potion-brewing there was no such freedom without consequences: a mere calming draught could easily be come a draught of living death"

He liked the risk, If it came out right, then great! Siege just followed what he wanted to do. If it came out wrong, then great! Let's see it explode! He loved the idea of the risky outcomes, and how it might just blow up in his face.
"Well, who knows, you might just be into that kind of stuffCommented Siege, shrugging in indifference, not really caring what the girl was into, he was more into making her react in an amusing way.

Well, I'm almost done, probably am now done...I have a feeling that I might like this class...

Quite a surprise really, considering not a lot like potions class, finding it to be too boring or something along the line.

Defense Against The Dark Arts would be my favorite, if all we did was beat the crap out of each other with wands...

Hearing what he needed to craft, Adohiro Moira began to work right away even though he had no partner. He did not want a partner who would most likely mess it up. He didn't want to be dragged down by someone who couldn't craft a simple potion. Deciding he would need his book, he pulled out the book Magical Drafts and Potions and he began to flip through the pages until he reached the right page. When he found the ingredients needed to make it, he grabbed what he needed; crushed Bicorn Horn, Mandrake Root, Three Sprigs of English Thyme, five drops of Salamander Blood, Four Fire Seeds. He made sure to accurately measure them. The grabbing the proper equipment, he began to crush the Bicorn Horn into fine powder with the help of the pestle. He added two pinches of the finely crushed Bicorn Horn and added the Mandrake Root. He then turned the medium heat on and began to count to himself until exact ten seconds had passed. Now he had to wait for thirty minutes so he began to read the Magical Drafts and Potions, not caring for the small talk between his peers. At least he would be seen as the studious student and he was carving the path to becoming the top of the Slytherin House.
