No, but you can sign up for special abilities! There's nothing wrong with being a human, it just means that you can't be part goblin, part giant, part veela, werewolf, dhampir, parselmouth, metamorphmgus or seer. Everything else is open for you
You could have only got one talent anyway, all of the ones you wanted wouldn't have been possible.

That's true, but perhaps you can find something else that you like?
For example you can't be a dhampir but perhaps you'd like the terrible presence ability?
