Sarah's Hit Chance (19-20): [d20: 14] → No Strike
The action seemed to be taking speed now, after a small distraction break on the Slytherin side. Smoke wasn't enough, so Callie decided to add some storm around the stage, placing it exactly above the Slytherin's side. Aida, taking some perfect aiming hit Sarah with fire, setting her on fire. Astrea, in response, sent a distinct and firm knockback and hit Aida in the chest. Meenauh wowed at that, considering how little she could see. Sarah's spell went past Aida, which the Ravenclaw duellist may haven't even seen due to the smoke still obscuring everyone's vision. Probably, everyone's.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 6

Astrea's knockback jinx was a testament to the Slytherin's powers of perception, lancing Aida regardless of the cloak of fog around them.
“Oww…. Maybe I should try to wear, er, painted camoflauge or something. I don't understand how they can see me. Am I just too pale, or...?”
At least Callie seemed to be doing alright. Aida preferred it this way, taking on the pain so that others would be spared.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 6
Sarah's spell didn't hit this time, instead shooting somewhere off to the side. Though she didn't have the capacity to care all too much as she was engulfed in flames which felt as though they melted her skin. She forced herself to breathe through the pain flooding her, and firmly ignored the fact that this was exactly how she'd lost half her family. Still, she'd been singed on the piste before, her first ever duel leaving her hair fried and skin red raw, and she'd managed not to regress into her head; she could do the same now.
Seeing her partner's spell hit its target - or at least hearing the reaction it provoked through the slowing thinning smoke - was enough to take her mind someone off of the flames around her. The crackling of thunderclouds above their heads was also a good point to focus on, something calming about the stormy sounds despite the impending lighting strike they could cause.
The Slytherin shook her arms out to the sides, a failed attempt to shake the flames away from her, as she squinted her eyes to more easily make out the other side of the piste and the opponents she wanted to beat more now than ever. The flames which whipped at her exposed arms ignited something within her, reflecting in bright green eyes as she steadied herself once more.Action | Doing as strategized

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 6
The crash of suddenly formed thunder above Astrea's head and the billowing of light, somewhat muted by the distance of separation, to her peripheral punctuated the Slytherin's call for damage. She had wasted precious time earlier attempting to identify her target's placement and, from the pained hypothetical drifting in from the other side, this distracted caution paid off.
A looming raincloud, dark and heavy with withheld rain held dangerously close to their heads, rumbling unhappily above and joining the smokescreen in the game of steady inconvenience. Its formation was only salt to the wound of hindered visibility. Loath she was to take her eyes off of the tentatively identified area one of the Ravens occupied, what more could she do than take note of the new strategical element as neither rain nor immediate electrical damage was wrought upon them- and yet its absence was not guaranteed otherwise.
In such activities as duelling (especially when faced with the conditions as they held now), where it was difficult to coordinate between casting rounds, there was only time to adapt and compromise strategy. Within their hands they held a careful balancing act of this strategy, honed skill, and honest luck, and, for Astrea's part, she was a particularly good multitasker.

You’d think Callie would be a little more focused considering everything that was going on. Yet Callie was fundamentally a mildly irritating thirteen year old with a generally short attention span at the best of times. This time her mind had drifted off to thoughts of assignments..until the words of her duelling partner tore her away from thoughts of potions. Almost immediately Callie seemed to bolt upright and refocus entirely…for now at least. She was getting hungry.

Sarah Lightwood vs Fire
ReducioSarah is on Fire.
Effects:
– Sarah was burning and received 60 damage.
– Sarah is no longer on fire (this was the fire from the previous hit that is no longer active, don't mix with the new fire in Aida Ellwood vs Sarah Lightwood).
The duel finally displayed some spellcasting. Successful casts, unsuccessful hits, though.
Callie sent her Wind Jinx straight at Sarah, but Sarah managed to avoid it easily, despite trying to avoid the lightning hit from the cloud. Sarah sent a nice a steady Flipendo at Aida, but missed a long way. It was, indeed, difficult to see and moreover hit through the smoke. Astrea didn't want to just agree to the cloud above them, so with a graceful Wind Jinx she sent the cloud to the other side of the arena. Now the Ravenclaws would have to dance around their own cloud to avoid being hit. Suddenly, a split from the Wind Jinx rushed towards Aida, but missed the blonde Ravenclaw just mere inches.
Standing in the middle of the smoke, covering the whole stage, Aida cast another fire and hit Sarah once again. The fire emerged, this time it seemed brighter and stronger. Sarah would have to deal with that as it indeed seemed like too much at that moment.
And the smoke went away to reveal all the duellists for everyone.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 6

Aida was hurting from all the previous blows from the opponent team, but what really annoyed the white mage was that the opponents had blown the Ravenclaws' own spell back at them. It was almost a form of karma. Nonetheless, Aida had to figure out what to do next and fight on anyway.
Action: Doing as strategized.

Wait…what was happening again? Everything was moving so fast and Callie’s thoughts had drifted to involve various cartoons.
No, focus Callie you moron. Aida is being abused by some snake representatives.
So naturally this meant Callie immediately jolted to attention and gripped her wand even tighter. This wasn’t the time to drift away…even if she was struggling to entirely focus on the matter at hand. Pesky thirteen year old attention span.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 6
Though Astrea had neither personally experienced the weather-modifying charm at play, nor had she often seen it successfully strike in a duel, she was not one to take such ignorant risks when such an apparent strategical choice was in front of them. Her partner caught fire anew from a powerful opponent spell to her peripheral, apparently the sole target of the entire duel so far. On one hand, the two teams had evened the playing fields long ago, yet it was a close battle than required all of one's attention.
Her opponents distracted, Astrea risked taking her unwavering stare from the Ravenclaw piste to flit just above them, her wand flicking sharply upwards in the finishing motion of the wind jinx. Indeed, when confronted with such danger thundering above them, the billowing winds took their cue to rapidly buffet the heavy raincloud into the Ravenclaw's vicinity, an immediate switching of situations. With that matter out of the way, they were free to focus fully on the most immediate threats to their pride.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 6
Sarah had barely a moment's repost before she was hit with another wave of flames, the fires around her starting anew. It hurt - her whole body was alight both physically and sensationally. She understood what she'd signed up for as a duellist, had thrown out her fair share of curses and hexes in her time as a viper, but she still held the thought that spells such as that of fire-making should not be allowed to be used on other students. Perhaps it had something more to do with her past encounters with flames which made her think so, though she was certain other duellists who'd been hit by incedio would agree with her that it was downright awful. Not that she let any of this show on her face. Her unspoken anger at the strange lines the professors had drawn on what was okay to use and not okay to use in a duel didn't spill out of her lips. Other than a small grunt, she didn't let her discomfort show.
Instead, Sarah raised her wand once more and attempted to cast once again at the pale witch in front of her. She missed, unsurprisingly, something about being on fire being a bit of a distraction. She didn't let it deter her though. This duel was far from over - both snakes and ravens fighting for the win and coming out so far evenly. They just needed a breakthrough, a moments slip in their opponents and Sarah knew that she and her partner could do this. Just focus.Action | Doing as strategized
