Skipping Stones
It was an average day, Quinn had finished her classes. So she was still wearing her school robes, They had green on them representing her house. Quinn was walking to one of her favorite places at hogwarts. The great lake. It was peaceful, Calming. She got down to the water, Quinn toke off her shoes and her socks. She then walked into the the water until the water went up to her ankles.
Finally taking a look around at her surroundings she saw a hufflepuff. He had brown hair, He was tall. 'He could be in his second year..' She thought to herself. Quinn shrugged and bent down to grab a rock, She was digging around in the sand beneath the water looking for the right rock.
"Aha! Found you!" She said holding the rock she found, It was gray with some dark gray spots on it. It did not matter to Quinn tho. With a smirk on her face she held the rock in her hand and wiped it across the lake. It skipped 4 times!
With a massive smile on her face she raised her hands in the air and said "Yes! I still have it, did you see that? four times?!" She looked at the tall hufflepuff, And she fell backwards into the lake from excitement. It was shallow water so it was not a big deal. She was to happy to care.

"oh no!" he tried to pick her up getting wet in the process "oh gosh.." he sighed moving er to the dry land "why...did you do that?" he seemed confused on why she was so happy about a rock skipping 4 times, he never really had someone in his life get this into something so trivial "hello?" he seemed focus on trying to understand why she acted like this, his life had been put into specific ways he never did anything likr this before so he wanted to understand why she acted like this, he doesnt think its bad that she was acting like this, but just didn't understand, "...sorry for being so weird about it i just, have never seen anyone be so happy about something trvial like this" he said looking into the lake before looking back at her "what's your name anyway?" he said crossing his legs and changing his expression and tone "if you don't mind me asking of course"
He though that she looked around his age, but he was tall as all get out so he might be the one who looks older to her, he didnt really know since he had almost always been this tall

Quinn let the boy help her up out of the water, He did get wet in the process. he sighed and moved to the dry land. "I did it because it's fun! I can teach you how to do it if you want?" She asked the hufflepuff, he looked confused. "Hey!" She responded to the boys hello.
She listened to him apologize and ask her name. "Its fine! no need to apologize! My name is Quinn Root! Whats your name?" She told him as she looked around in the lake again for the next rock she was going to throw. She found another one, This time it was a semi bronze one.
"You know you're pretty tall, Then again I am pretty short so..." She threw the next rock, Careful not to let herself fall this time. "Man... Only 2?!" She let out a sigh. 'Not all of them can be as cool as four' She thought. She looked around for another rock, She was determined to make this one seven.
"Do you know how to skip rocks? And what year are you in?" She asked him. She could not find a rock so she went and sat next to the hufflepuff.

"i- uh dont" he stood up putting his hands in his pockets he felt some kind of peace looking into the lake, "im a first year," he said looking down a bit at her "around 13 or so...". he seemed to focus in on the conversation but something kept drawing him to the river, like he had seen it before. it's reflective surface felt so familiar to him, but he had only been here twice the whole year. "hey... quinn does these waters ever look weirdly familiar to you..? i mean they probably do because you've been here way more than me probably but...there's just something i can put my finger on that i can't stop thinking about, he wished he could just dive into the thing, but then that wouldn't really be to smart of him because all his clothes and robes would be soaked, but something felt like it called him back, even though he had never felt this any of the other times he had been here. he violently snapped back to reality as he said "hey have you ever been able to get ten?" she seemed like a pro at this so he was genuinely curious

"Wow! your in your first year?" It looked like something was dragging him to the water not physically. he asked if the water ever looked familiar. "sometimes they look familiar.. but its probably because I do come here often. The water calms me.." She told him
He looked like he got lost in thought, before he snapped back to reality. "10! Wow! no I haven't made it to ten.. Yet.. I think the most i've gotten is...." she squinted her eyes thinking she has been skipping rocks for so long she almost forgot what her highest score was. " Eight...? Yeah... I think that the most i've gotten! My dad said that hes gotten 11 once!" She smiled at the thought of her dad, She missed him. He wasn't dead she just missed him.
"So why are you out here today?" She asked, She was out to skip rocks if that wasn't obvious. Quinn got up again and looked for another rock, This time in a different place. It wasn't to far from where she was the first time, But far enough to have different rocks. "come on!! there has to be more then 2 good rock skipping rocks!" She slightly pouted, It was a big lake. Why was it this hard to find a rock?
