We limit owls and posting for new, unvalidated players as a security measure on the site. We have people that are here to just troll. We frequently get people that are multi-accounting, trying to link us to something, etc. There is also the issue of bots using us as a medium to spam products for sale. In addition, it can become a medium for harassment, a proxy IP and a throw away IP and you can dox another user for instance and it would be very hard to trace and once it has been done it is hard to take back what information is shared. By going through the validation process before you can interface with the community at large, you have been at least to some level vetted. As mentioned in a recent announcement, regardless of our efforts some people do get through sadly and it ends up being very damaging to the community.
