Damn he felt drained.

ALL BECAUSE OF COLIN! How could he scare him like that???

Kim seriously had thought he'd known. He reached out to grab a plate and placed a few pumpkin pasties, meat pies, chips, cupcakes and cookies onto it.

The pink haired boy popped a french fry (as that was what English chips were) into his mouth and started to chew. And then Sophia came over and Kim glanced at her, looking behind to see if the entourage was following. Nope, at least not yet. A faint twitch of his lips could be seen. "You know, Irish's right. We really are royalty... my lady!" Kim said with a wry smile. And by that he meant that their 'subjects' always seemed to congregate around them.

As Sophia grabbed various snacks and stuffed them into her face, Kim watched with amusement. She was acting like he tended to do when he was rushing to eat because he had to go somewhere. Idly, he wondered if Stalker would call her Quokka or squirrel if he saw her like this. Or was that just a term he reserved for him? Well, at least he didn't see him here, which made him relax even more. It would have been bad for him if he'd been here right now.

Why?

Because ever since the Blossom Ball, things had been rather... strange for him.

Felix was confusing and Kim couldn't figure out what he was up to. Sometimes he thought Stalker was interested in him. But other times he was sure the boy was just messing around and teasing him to see his reactions. Kim didn't like not knowing and unlike other people, he couldn't just go up to him and bluntly ask him the question. He'd fall into that soul-melting stare of his. Sophia distracted him from his thoughts and he looked over at the girl. "Huh?"

He wasn't usually like this. Kim was usually on top of things and very present but when his thoughts strayed to Felix... things disintegrated for him. He quickly replayed the last few seconds and realized what she'd said and then nodded. "Ah, yes. It's a bit too crowded, isn't it? I only went to Willow's table because she was alone at the time and I liked the look of the books." Kim told her and picked up a meat pie to bite into the snack.

Mm, delicious.

The flaky crust, the juices from the meat and the softness of the actual meat.

"Try the meat pies and chips." Kim suggested to Sophia. He wasn't sure if she liked french fries but they were delicious and crispy, which was nice.

While he was enjoying the snacks, AF came up to them and Kim glanced over at her. Could the entourage be moving over to this table now? And then the girl spoke, attempting to apologize to them. Kim shook his head. "It's fine." He told her and it was the truth. As of right now, he was fine. "I wanted to get out and learn some stuff at this errand anyway but I got peckish." Kim added and nodded down at the snack table before them.

When AF excused herself and went back to the table, Kim looked back over at Sophia. "I think she's pretty nice. What do you think?" He asked, curious. This was not small talk as Kim actually did want to know. The crowds seemed to become even thicker and the air started to become a little warm due to all the bodies inside a small enclosed space. Perhaps they should have held this errand outside in the fresh air. It might have been better outside.

But then again, he hadn't been the one to set up the errand in the first place.

Harper watched as many others began gathering around the snack table. She was again filled with joy as this event seemed to be drawing such a crowd. She listened closely to AF as she was talking, but also watched as Kim Sato approached the snack table as well. She wondered silently to herself if he was there to try one of the excellent cookies! She picked another one up as she thought about that, and began casually chomping on it.

She realized she hadn't fully been paying attention to AF talking. But she did get bits and pieces of the conversation. She heard AF ask her if she was named after Harper Lee, the famous muggle author. By which, she nodded.

"Yes actually! My mother specifically is a big fan of her." Harper stated with a smile as she took a big bite of her cookie and chewed it. She was glad to meet someone else who appreciated Harper Lee as much as her and her mother did.

AF motioned for Harper to follow and she did so. She followed to a small table that had a few students, and she sat down in an empty chair. Then, just as she had sat down, AF introduced her to Willow and Colin and there were also a few students which she did not mention that were also sitting there. Harper waved to them shyly and spoke softly.

"Hello! It's nice to meet you guys." She said simply. She sort of just sat there and waited for someone to bring up a conversation as she was too shy and she also wasn't really sure about any of their interests and didn't know how to start a conversation because of that fact. She hoped that someone else was skilled at that though, mostly to avoid awkward silence.

As the others in her group were conversing, Bailey saw Mei start walking towards her but then she stopped and turned around.
Hum… I wonder what’s up Bailey thought. Getting up, Bailey stood and looked around. Seeing a few familial faces, Bailey decided to go say hello. First Bailey walked up to Colin, who was with Jarael, AF and Harper Jordan. Bailey knew Jareal and AF, and had met Colin in the library a while back. She also knew Harper but they had not gotten to talk a lot.
Walking up Bailey said “Hello everyone! How are y’all doing? Sorry if I’m interrupting something.”
A few minutes later, Bailey looked. She had seen Marius, the person in charge of the Christian Club she was a member of.
Deciding to go over and say hello, Bailey excused herself and walked over to Marius. He was dressed in a suit, and his brown eyes were their usual color, which matched his hair. This complemented his tanned skin which was not showing at the moment, but Bailey had seen at a meeting of the Christian Club.
As she walked up, Bailey said “Hello Marius! I’m glad to see that you made it to the errand. I thought about sending you an Owl about it but I figured you would hear about it. How have you been?”
As she waited for him to reply, Bailey paused and thought wow… there are a lot of people here. I did not expect this many people to come… wow.

Sophia was finally beginning to relax a bit, though she was feeling very embarrassed about her lack of ability to interact with large groups. The worst part was that all of those people seemed so nice, but her social awkwardness had driven her away. Maybe that was why her old muggle friends never called? Were they relieved that she'd left, maybe? They wouldn't have to cater to her (lack of) social skills anymore. In a way, Sophia didn't blame them.

Before her mind could transition to full-fledged brooding, Kim spoke to her.

"You know, Irish's right. We really are royalty... my lady!"

What was going on? First, Kim called her hair pretty, and now he was calling her 'my lady?' Sophia was only barely beginning to sort her feelings for the boy out, and the more she understood them, the more she noticed when Kim said things like that. Had he always been so forthcoming, or was it something she was only noticing now that she was, unintentionally, beginning to catch feelings for the boy? She didn't know if she could handle much more of it.

Though, she had to admit that hearing him call her his lady made her heard thump just a little bit harder. She was now actively scanning the snacks she was shoveling into her mouth, avoiding anything red because she was afraid it would match her face and call attention to it.

Sophia shuffled a bit closer to Kim, but she didn't dare touch his arm or try to hug him as she normally would. For some reason, that felt like a very, very bad idea, so she didn't bother. She just stood there, eventually muttering a, 'Yes, I suppose we are, my lord," in her best (though objectively still horrible) posh British accent.

She followed Kim's gaze to the table full of people and smiled sadly, "Do you ever wish you could interact with so many people so easily? It's just - I dunno, it's too much."

AngelFyre began making her way to them from the table, and Sophia was thankful it was just her. She definitely liked everyone there, from what she knew of them at least, but she didn't want to be crowded again. It was a bit overwhelming, so she stuck to her safety rock: Kim. It helped that Kim was such a kind, sweet person to her. She really did care about him and appreciate him.

Kim listened to AngelFyre's apology and Sophia winced. She hadn't meant to make anyone feel badly. She'd just flocked to the first anchor of comfort she could find, which was Kim. Kim had offered a charming, elegant response - an excuse, really - to the apology, so Sophia settled into her role as the jokester. The comic relief.

"Yeah, and I had to catch up with Kim, anyway," she said, lowering her voice to a stage-whisper that Kim could surely hear, "We're supposed to feed the boys three times a day, you know, and Kim doesn't like going places without me. He gets pretty clingy."

There. Maybe she could fluster Kim a bit, too! She didn't consider the fact that she was proving herself quite the glutton as usual, having devoured as much, if not more, than Kim. Nor did she consider the fact that she'd purposely sought him out after he escaped the crowd. Still, she smiled smugly at her friend, hoping he would either be too flushed by her comment, or too wowed by her hair to get annoyed or angry. She'd never seen him angry before, but she knew how annoying she could be, so it was only a matter of time.

Her old muggle friends certainly got angry from time to time.

Finius noticed Bailey Glade, a nice girl who had helped him start his chocolate frog card collection. He waved before picking up his books and food plate and walking over to a group of people she seemed to know.
"Hi, I'm Fin. It looks like we've got a noice spread o' food. Nothin gathers a crowd like food..." He was mostly stalling, he noticed a lot of people were doing the same. He figured he could at least get the conversation on a track of sorts. "So this event is for talkin' about religion and stuff right? Have you guys 'eard o' the good news of Jesus Christ? I know it's a pretty popular religion but I feel there's always some level of misconceptions in any religion both from inside and outside. I can try and help if I can."
Well he had at least started it, he hoped he could answer any questions they might ask him. He wasn't sure what to do if he didn't. He took a bit of a pumpkin pasty he had on his plate and sat down. He hoped he wasn't interupting a conversation already in discussion, that would seem so rude. Why didn't he concider that before talking? Sometimes it seemed like his two modes of transportation were standing still or moving his foot directly into his mouth.

When Bailey noticed Finius waiving to her, she smiled at him, acknowledging that she had seen him. As he joined her and her group of friends which included @Sophia Nelson, @Colin McCoire, @Jarael Morningstar, @Kim Sato, @AngelFyre McCubbin, @Harper Jordan, Bailey said “Hey Fin! How have you been? Has your chocolate frog collection had a chance to grow more? I’m always willing to give you more froggies- just stop me in the halls or send me an owl!!”
Turing to her friends, she said “I helped Fin start his chocolate frog collections. That’s how we met!”
When Fin started talking about religion, Bailey was interested. She wondered is he Catholic too? Do other Christians believe in Jesus? It’s a good thing I’m here because I have lots of questions.
Deciding to speak up, Bailey asked Fin “Are you Catholic too? If it what religion or religious practice are you part of?”
Turning back to the rest of the group, she extended her questioning. “How about you guys? What religion are you a part of? Are you a part of a religion? What is it like? Feel free to not answer any of these questions if they are insensitive- I’m just curious. And I thought here would be a good place to ask my questions!!!!”

It felt awkward sitting at that table, she was taking whatever food she wanted, with the certainty of a few more cookies. Everyone seem to be focused on somebody else, and they were all still stranger. People she never talks to at school, make her feel small and less social than she thought. But then a question, and she thought it might be good to just answer the question, try and be more social. "Uh I'm not in any religion, I'm here for the food." she answered: "Uh how does it feels like being in an religion anyway, my mom and I never see a point. Oh uh no offense to you guys, just my own opinion hahaha."
She pulled a fake laugh and went on to just eating her food. She wasn't sure what to ask over the big crowd of people, so she just asked Jarael, the only person she had some kind of talking with: "Uh what food do you like, I like cookies, but that's pretty obvious, not I mean I like all cookies but my favorite has to the chocolate mint." she said ecstatically, and just look back at the food she has eaten, maybe it better to stop, she needs to save it for a main course feast, and not the sweet appetizers.

"I've been fine, I 'aven't gotten a chance to grow my collection recently, I 'aven' made it to 'ogsmead yet. But yeah I'm a baptist. It's a christian denomination tha' I guess split off of the split-off of the Catholic church a while back. So it's like the estranged second cousin of the Catholic church."
"Best I remember of my church history Martin Luther wanted to reform the Catholic church because 'e thought they weren't lettin' the Bible be written in any other language except Latin. It was basically an argument about whether the common people should have access to interpret the Bible as they see fit (Luthors argument) or if the group of priests should be able to tell people what it means through their 'ard taught studies and any arguments of meaning should be be'ind closed doors, away from the public ear (the church's argument)." "Oh, I wish I had a copy of the 99 theses that Luthor used to argue for reformation." He looked lamentedly at the few books he brought.
"Anyway, eventually Luthor and the church couldn't agree so he split off and started his own faction while being called a heretic. Later generations would basically continue the argument but the Catholic church 'ad the power of the law on their side so they made the other factions illegal. There was even a few people burned at the stake." He realised that his story might be sounding a bit one sided and so started correcting.
"I don't mean to bash on the Catholic church, just a few specific people. And they've made great strides in recent 'istory, it's just that when any group aquires too much power they start to attract power 'ungry people and that takes time to weed out. Lots of baptist mega churches have had issues with extortion and scandal."
He thought back to how those few leaders made the whole church looked bad and how the media grabbed it and fed it to the world who just ate it up to make themselves feel higher by bringing others low. He could empathise with having a negative representation of your faction from a few examples. He shook it off and continued.
"Anyway, eventually the Lutheran faction grew enough to gain legitimacy and the split became a new faction. From there more splits happened to create new denominations any time there was a large enough dissagreement that caused fighting in the church, though those splits were a bit less violent and criminalising of the other factions than the Luthor split was." "It would be great if the 'ole christian church was more unified, at this point they are a bit estranged from each other." "Um, I guess that's why there are differences between Catholics and other groups like Baptists." He blushed as he realised how long he had been talking feeling the look of the people on him. He had barely gotten into the differences in theology before his mind went to history. "Um, I forgot, was there another part of that question?"

“I’m glad you have been well! And when I get some more froggies I will send you some more!!!” Bailey said, in response to Fin’s response to her question.
As he continued, Bailey tried to keep up.
Her thoughts were muddled, and they went something like this:
ok… so he is Baptist. Yep they are kinda like estranged cousins. That’s kinda funny. Ohh is that when Baptist became a thing? Because of Martin Luther? I think that’s what I learned… oh yes he WAS called a hieratic- I remember learning about that. And dealing with that amount of scandal and such… must not be fun. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Her thoughts kinda trailed off, as she tried to understand everything that Fin had said.
When he finished and blushed, clearly ashamed he had talked so much, Bailey blinked and realized that he had asked a question.
“No that is totally all right. I don’t think there was another question…. Thank you for explaining that. I did learn all about that in History when I was in school. it makes a lot more sense now thought. Oh! I do have another question. Do you have any special traditions for church holidays? I’m just curious.

Colin opened his eyes and tried to steady himself. Eyes of Sky wasn't there. Had he just dreamt what he had just done? Or did it happen in some other universe, and he was just sucked back into this one? The girl whose red hair reminded him of a blazing azalea in full bloom was talking. He had no clue what she was saying. His ears were ringing and felt fuzzy. He thought he might collapse.

"What just happened?" he whispered to himself.

"...loving relationship." The red haired girl finished talking, and then blushed before turning to dash off towards another table.

"Loving relationship? What's she on about? Um. There was --- there was," a smile came across Colin's face as he stood alone among the throng of students in the Great Hall. He sighed. "There was Eyes of Sky!"

Colin took a deep breath and his eyes darted around the room. Empty faces. Robes billowing. Talking heads. Hair bobbing. People. But not the one person.

Then a shiver ran down Colin's spine! He heard it from across the hall: skipping feet and a joyful squeak! His head turned abruptly and his body followed. Colin smiled. He took off after the happy sound --- he would go to Eyes of Sky!

Colin dashed across the Hall as quick as he could. "Wotcha!" he evaded collision with a plate full of cookies that presumably hid a student; "Oi! oi! Make way, lads!" he skidded between a couple tall Ravenclaws deep in discussion; "Hssssssss!" he danced around a couple of confused looking Slytherins who apparently had no idea what was going on! Well, Colin had no idea what was going on either! But at least he didn't look entirely bewildered about it!

At last he found her! He saw the back of Azalea Girl's head first; and then --- two brilliant azure gems, like twin Earths seen from some far away starship! And the long brown hair, much longer than his black, but not by a lot!

He bowed quickly to the red haired girl, saying: "I'm sorry! I didn't catch your name! I was ---" he glanced quickly towards Jarael "--- er, I - I was um. Somewhere --- else?" He put down his plate of treats next to his satchel, which he'd left on the table.

Colin started to sit down, but then remembered! He bowed low to Jarael, making a flourish for her. His messy hair fell over his face, but when he straightened up, he tossed it back over his shoulder. He fell quiet as he sat down next to Jarael. Rather close.

He shook uncontrollably for a moment, then calmed himself. I'm so going to lose it if she puts her face in close to mine!

At last he turned slightly and tried to speak. "Er --- f - f. You said --- um. Er."

This wasn't working!!

He closed his eyes, and a couple tears formed at the corners. Why can't I just ask Jarael a simple question!? Why did the Good Folk steal my tongue? How can I get it back?? A single tear rolled off his cheek and plopped onto the wood of the table. And Colin sighed deeply. I don't understand what's happening to me!

And then a recollection arose in his mind. He was able to talk to her before, right? And that was so easy!

Colin wiped the tears from his eyes, opened them, and turned towards Jarael and faced her, almost nose to nose! He looked into her eyes of blue like the summer Sun at noon over the Highlands. He gave her a little smile, then a full, four-fanged smile. He asked her a question.

"Fairy cute, Fairy mean, Fairy thief and burglar!
.....words are gone I am bereft by how you stole my tongue!
Hither bring that I might speak and squeak with Eyes of Sky;
.....Texture coarse or surface soft, why didst steal my tongue?"

He laughed. "Silly, snakey, runes and rhymes! Um. W - would ---?"

Colin never took his eyes off of Jarael's. His hand slowly pushed a small plate over towards her. It had a pumpkin pastry on it, still warm. The scent of pumpkin spice arose and tickled Colin's nose. He tilted his head slightly to one side. "Eyes of Sky? Pumpkin pie, pumpkin pastry? Would you like this little dainty?"
