I might turn Simon’s base story into a book someday, just something to keep me busy. I already know how I’d break down the volumes.

It seems to be a scary endeavor though, trying to actually write a book.

I might write a book, but idk what to write about and how to publish it

Yeah, it can indeed be scary! I think a lot of that comes down to writer personality. Some people see the scary endeavour and are turned aside. Others see it as a challenge to overcome. I personally have no doubt at all that you can write Simon's story. When I read people's encies and the rps they do here --- that's the basis for their character's story! And Simon is no different. You've already got so much of the backbone of his story written!

For me, I never actually intended to write a book at all! That fantasy storybook began as a challenge to my nephew to write me a story. He ended getting me write him a story, and that turned into a short novel. I didn't even truly realise it was a book until I was almost done.

My journey here, to H.io, literally started last November when I was trawling the wastelands that are Reddit and came across an interesting discussion prompt. I had just wanted to write a quick scene that would showcase my answer to the question. In stead, Colin showed up and began telling me his story, and how he actually answered the question. And now, it's all I can do to keep up with him! That long story is now up to almost 500 book pages. The short stories are now up to almost 100 book pages. Maybe, for me, it didn't seem scary at all because I never actually intended to produce a book. The book just happened. But that's how I write.

If you're the sort of writer who has to plan every smallest detail out, outline chapters and so forth, then you might think I'm bonkers for doing it this way! But the moral of the story is regardless of what your writing personality is, write, WRITE, WRITE!

Start by writing about Emily Flower! Take a look at the RPs you've done and try to write those out as short stories. You know how stories go! Show us who Emily is and what she's like; show us the place where her story happens; show us what she's doing and who she's doing it with; show us her journey and the arc of the story. I mean, if Emily can make friends in an abandoned toilet, then you've got the foundation for a cool story! And that was a hilarious howler she got!

Amazing how many friendships begin in that abandoned toilet, right? Colin met Quinn there, too!

Random question. How long does it usually take to get a pet approved? I posted on May 6th and haven't gotten a response yet and yes, I owled Hjordis, Marcus and Elaine. I noticed the two above me who posted on May 7th got their pets approved already, so was just wondering if anyone knew when I might get mine approved too? If you could let me know by tagging/mention me, or through sending an owl that would be great! Thanks guys! - Kim

It takes a bit because I posted mine on the 1st of May and didn't get my pet until the 3rd so it really just depends on how busy the HoH are
