Closed New Friends PV Taizu Miyashire, Bailey Glade, Colin McCoire and Kim Sato

Colin took off along the corridors and pounded down the cold stone steps towards the deep, deeeeeep dungeons where all the snakey boys and girls had their lairs. Hm! I shall ask Bails and Kim what their dorms are like!

He dashed into the empty dorm and tossed a few things into his satchel. Hehe! I know Kim's going to fall in love with this! he thought as he sniffed at a curious box his seanmamó had sent him. He grabbed his black polished stick and dashed through the common room without even pausing to see if anyone was there.

He tore up all four hundred thousand two myriad nine hundred and sixty-seven --- and a half! --- steps back up to the world of light and fresh air. Colin ducked through the maze of taller students heading into the Great Hall for lunch, several of which tried to stop, waylay, trip, yell at or otherwise hinder his progress. He skidded to a halt at the doorway that would lead outside, beyond the stone courtyards and cloisters and to the wide grounds beyond.

He smiled. He liked Bails --- Bailey --- already. He felt she was trustworthy. He felt that way about very few people, even many of his friends.

With a cry of pure joy, Colin kicked off his shoes, yanked his socks off, slung them over his shoulder and tore down the green meadows towards the loch at full speed! As he ran, he could see in the distance where Bailey had spread out a blanket. Kim was already there. Taizu wasn't.

"BAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYY!!!! " he shouted out as he got closer. At last, Colin leapt forward, landed and rolled along the grass, kilts, satchel, shoes and stick flying and he came to a stop just on the edge of the blanket.

"Hey Kim!" Colin looked Kim up and down, then whistled at him. "You look like some Ministry bloke going to a posh dinner! I have something for you that you're going to like!" He took out a neatly wrapped box from his satchel and set it down carefully on the blanket.

As far away from Kim as he possibly could.

"Touch that, Kim, and I'll smack your fingers!"

He turned to Bailey and picked up one of the food containers he'd packed earlier. "Say, Bails! These boxes, didn't you call them top her warts or something like that! Are they muggle magic! Look!" He shook about the container full of cheese blocks. "There's not even a strap or a buckle or a string to tie it with! It's like magic!"

Colin looked around. He couldn't see Taizu anywhere. He narrowed his eyes at Kim. "Where's Taizu? Did you lot throw Taizu into the lake without me? That's not very sporting!"

It was Kim who got there first. Looking at the food he commented that they truly went all out. Laughing a little, Bailey agreed saying “We really did, didn’t we!”
Then Colin came, screaming her name as he ran down the hill. He tumbled down the hill the last bit and came to a rolling stop just before he rolled into the spread of food. Shaking one of the boxes, this one of cheese, he marveled at it. When he commented that throwing Taizu into the lake without him wasn’t nice, Bailey was about to point out that Taizu was behind him but then Taizu said that, tapping Colin on the shoulder.
As Taizu was speaking, he seemed to lose him confidence. Bailey smiles encouraging at him, hoping to help restore his confidence.
As everyone settled down, Bailey noticed that Taizu had brought some food. Curious, she asked “So… what all do we have here? I think I recognize most of these dishes, but the ones you brought Taizu I’m not sure I do… would you care to educate me? I would love to learn and I am excited to try some new foods!!!”
Waiting for Taizu to respond, Bailey poured herself a glass of lemonade from the thermos.
“Feel free to take some of everything!” she encouraged her friends, happy that they all were there and how her day had gone.

Kim was interesting in certain ways. The way he called everyone "cute" --- well, as far as Colin knew, that meant himself and Taizu! --- and he ruffled Colin's hair briefly. Colin didn't say anything, but did cock his head to one side and gave the other boy an appraising look. Kim made a sort of explanation, the bit about thinking him "cute". He wondered what that was about.

But then Colin grinned as Kim questioned the veracity of Colin's claim that he'd like what was in the box and nodded his head vigorously, sending his hair flying in all directions. When Kim got defensive about him asking if they'd thrown poor Taizu into the lake, Colin made a snorting sort of laugh. "Well, obviously: you're a troublemaker! You've got that written all over your face --- always smirking, always examining people. Honestly, Kim, you're worse than a Slytherin." Colin shrugged and looked slyly at Kim again. "Why, I'll bet that you ---"

He didn't get to finish his statement, because at that moment, someone tapped Colin on the shoulder. Colin gasped and jumped at the touch! His brows furrowed momentarily as he turned with his teeth bared. It was Taizu! --- Or rather, it was a huge shipment of food containers that spoke with Taizu's voice! Colin's eyes opened wide and the snarl disappeared from his lips.

Just as suddenly as the snarl disappeared, Colin's nostrils flared and and his jaw fell open slightly. He began to lick his teeth as he leaned over towards the parcel that was presumably Taizu. Once Taizu's voice disappeared, Colin asked: "Laddie, is that all food!? There's more food than there is Taizu!" He stood and took the top two thirds of the food packets, thus revealing Taizu's face. "There's Taizu!" As he turned to place the packets on the blanket where Bailey indicated, he smirked and gave Kim a quick glance. "And he's all safe from marauders trying to throw him into the lake! But lad," he said turning back to his new companion, and before Kim could say anything. His eyes widened with delight as he took the last of the packets and gave them a sniff. "Some of these smell absolutely delicious! You have to tell me everything! Is all this Japanese food, then? How did you get it? Did you make it? Do you have a portkey or something in your pocket so you could go home and get it? Why is there so much? --- Not that I'm complaining, lad, but there really is more food here than you!"

Bailey must have started opening Taizu's food parcels, because she said some of the things she recognised, but not all. When she said to start eating, Colin had no idea where to start! All the new aromas of pure deliciousness intermingled with familiar smells, plus the enticing smell of the lake itself. It was too much!

Colin scratched his head absently as Kim heaped loads of food onto his plate. Colin had no idea where to start! His eyes turned one way and his nose turned the other and ended up not taking anything at all. He just sat there with a confused look on his face.

As Kim and Colin went back and forth talking, Bailey watched the hill, waiting for Taizu. As Taizu joined them, and that started eating, he explained what he had brought. i.. should research this when I have a chance. Bailey thought. Onigiri, like a sandwich. Katsudon, a bowl of rice with… deep fried pig cutlets? Ohh that sounds good. And curry bread! I have to try all of these!
With that thought, Bailey Bailey started piling food on to her plate.
Bailey looked at her plate- it looked like a mountain. There was the dished Taizu brought- Onigiri, Katsudon, and curry bread. There was also some shepherds pie, among other things.
When Taizu mentioned not having many friends besides them and Michael-chan, someone Bailey did not know, Bailey smiled at her food. He seemed to be settling down and getting comfortable with them. This rainy was much different that the one she had met in the library.
Swallowing, Bailey said “They really do know how to cook- everything all of the time is amazing. I have not had something that I have not enjoyed. And that includes all of the food here- thank you Taizu for introducing me to all of these dishes! I really love them. I will have to tell my mum about them.”
