A Small Meeting
The questions sent Yvaine into excitement overdrive, grin widening to a smile as he walked back to her. The chatter was beginning to grow around them as more students exited the Great Hall en masse. Remembering what he was originally waiting for, the boy spun about to face the two open doors leading into where some students still dined.
“It was a long time ago,” he admitted. “We went back to France to visit my aunt and uncle when I was eight for vacation. We spent the whole summer there! The dragon was unexpected. It’s as big as the Great Hall!”
He motioned towards the open doors. Between the students filing out at varying paces, the floating candlesticks and lines of House tables could still be seen the length of the Hall. It was an impressive space, and in his mind he was sure the dragon had to be as large.
“It had a lot of spikes,” he continued, “all coming out every which way. And it smelled like fire. They do breathe fire, you know.”
He spotted the Ravenclaw Prefect heading out the doors with the First Years in tow and gasped with slight exaggeration. “My people,” he murmured, and looked to Maisy. “I gotta go, but maybe we can meet up again? You can tell me all about your experience with the Slytherins and what the common room is like! I’ll tell you all about mine!”

A Small Meeting
Enraptured by his description of the creature she could only imagine was twice as spectacular in person, she almost missed the flood of students pouring out around them. Fire and spikes...bigger than a whole house (because she had already mentioned earlier that night that her entire house could bit snug in the Great Hall). She could, in that moment, think of absolutely nothing that sounded more exhilarating than a real, live dragon.
"I'm gonna see one!" She exclaimed with a grin, "Some day, Eevee! I'm gonna see one and it's gonna be amazing!" Turning as he did, she found her sudden excitement dwindling ever so slightly at the realization that it was time to head to her common room.
"Oh... Oh, yes, please. I'd like that very much. Even if you're the only friend I ever have here, Yvaine, I think you'd be a very good friend to have! Good luck!"
Searching the crowd, she bit the edge of her lip when she located the Prefect for the Slytherin House. With a deep breath, she smoothed out the front of her robes and nodding once more to the Ravenclaw boy, she crossed the Small Hall to join up with the others in her group.
