█It was quite a chilly day for spring. The young Gryffindor had nothing to do. Not even homework, which was more than rare. But somehow, Shanelle managed to finish all of them the other night. She had taken upon herself the mission of resting peacefully. So she did. Shanelle didn’t wake up until 8:45 AM. She sure did get her beauty sleep. But that only left her 15 minutes to get ready before the classes. She didn’t even have time for breakfast.
It took Shanelle all her willpower to get through Friday’s lessons, and the girl almost jumped out of the classroom once the bell struck 4:00PM and they were dismissed. Without thinking, she just left her school stuff on her bed during her brief visit to her dorm room. The girl wanted to spend the rest of the afternoon outside, in nature.
Shanelle slung a bag over her shoulder and hastily changed into casual wear, before slamming the door to her room and running out to the grounds. For some reason, she had been visiting the grounds regularly for the last few weeks. Maybe Shanelle had too much on her mind, with the Blossom Ball and all that, as well as the overwhelming school work and the fact that she still hasn’t made a lot of friends yet. She knew she wasn’t facing the worst problems though. Some of the older students had to worry about her grades as much, she didn’t have a boyfriend, and she did not have to juggle several positions at once.
But still, sometimes she felt hard to breathe, and the outdoors was her only escape. The Gryffindor ran out to the lake, and inhaled the fresh air. “Freedom!” She whispered to herself. She cheered and ran to the edge of the lake. She dipped her fingers in the icy cold water and sighed. She removed her fingers from the water and sat down on the grass, and laid her head down. For the next minute, she stared up at the blue skies and admired the fluffy white clouds. The minute passed, and the girl closed her eyes gently and dozed off, into the world of dreams.

Hiro had already done all his homework for the afternoon.
It wasn't the same as being back in Mahoutokoro.
But at the same time, it was even better because there were foreign students everywhere! He couldn't wait to meet as many as he could before the ball and before he had to leave again.
Hiro pulled on a pink sweater, over his white t-shirt and blue jeans. It was a very comfortable item and it made him feel quite warm inside. For him, it was better than a jacket! And it was very stylish too. He'd spent a lot of time at the campgrounds, where Mahoutokoro students were located, the Quidditch Training Pitch, where they were given a random time slot to practice every day, and Hogwarts castle. But he hadn't been to any other places around here.
Well, that had to change! He didn't want to be missing out on the other places! What if there was tons of fun to be had in places he just hadn't gotten around to paying a visit to? Therefore, Hiro decided to go on a random exploration of the grounds around Hogwarts castle. He ended up at the Great Lake area and glanced around with a smile on his face. It really was beautiful and had a mysterious aura. Hiro wondered what lay beneath the waters.
Was there nothing?
Or was there more to the waters than met the eye at first?
He gazed out across the shimmering waters of the lake and then let his gaze flicker up to take in the other surroundings. That was when a faint splashing was heard in the distance.
Hiro moved closer, through the trees, and finally came upon the source of the noise. It had been a giant squid, or more technically its tentacles. "Whoa." He exclaimed, staring at the vision before his eyes. Although most of the body of the giant squid was hidden beneath the water, a few tentacles could clearly be seen. It was then that he realized a girl was lying on her back on the grass, eyes closed and seemed to be in slumber. She was quite near the tentacles.
"You might want to move back a little." Hiro said as he leaned over her, casting a shadow down onto her face. "Unless you feel like getting splashed by water from that creature." He told her, not freaking out yet since tentacled beasts didn't usually come out onto the shore, and even when they did, they didn't tend to be fast about it. The girl was pretty with nice blond hair and blue eyes and there was a bag lying next to her, probably hers.

█Ah, sweet slumber. Her sleep was interrupted by a voice. Shanelle woke to someone talking, someone talking to her. Her eyes fluttered open as her eyes slowly adjusted to the light. She blinked. The first thing that she saw was a face, right in front of her. More accurately, the face of a boy, who looked about her age. Shanelle could see that he was wearing a bright pink sweater, which he somehow managed to pull off.
“Oh hey.” She said, sleepily. She wasn’t sure how long she had been sleeping for. She wanted to ask, but the boy was talking, so she paid attention, just in time to hear him telling her to move. Shanelle’s eyes opened wide. It took one glance at the giant tentacle next to her, she hurriedly rolled ten steps away.
Her face was pale.“Thanks for the heads up.” If the tentacle had been any closer when she saw it, she would have screamed. She exhaled in relief, her whole body relaxed. Shanelle stood up, brushing the strands of grass that stuck to her clothes. Great, now her shirt was muddy. Guess she should have walked instead of roll.
The Gryffindor stood up and looked around, after feeling like she was missing something. Then she spotted her bag, which was lying about 1 feet away. Shanelle took a look around her, making sure that the giant squid’s tentacle was nowhere near her, before reaching out and grabbing the bag as fast as she could.
She turned back to the boy with the pink sweater, which she found very fashionable, and introduced herself. “Oh, I’m Shanelle Meza, nice to meet you.” She grinned in a friendly way. She was pretty sure she just made a fool out of herself, but when she compared that to the fact she was almost snatched away by the giant squid, she’d rather be embarrassed.

Hiro was rather amused by her antics.
Hogwarts students were rather fun to be around! Were they always like this?
Instead of getting up and moving or even scrambling away from the area, she'd chosen to roll over and over until she'd reached the safety of distance.
The boy nodded when Shanelle thanked him for letting her know. "Mm, I thought you'd want to move away from it, since having a large tentacled creature near you might freak a person out a bit." Hiro said with a smile and inclined his head to her when she introduced herself to him. "Hiro." He told her and glanced around them at the area. "I'm new to Hogwarts and happened to venture here. Is it always like this here?"
"All fresh, clear and with a mystical kind of aura about it?" Hiro asked, curious.
Mahoutokoro wasn't like this at all, it was quite different from Hogwarts. But then, he suspected all the other foreign schools would feel the same way too.
"I'm assuming you're from Hogwarts, yes?" Hiro asked, returning his attention to her, after having let his thoughts drift back to Mahoutokoro for a brief moment. "I'm from Mahoutokoro." Hiro added and then tilted his head to the side, towards the sloping hill nearby. "Want to go sit down over there? It's a place the tentacles definitely won't be able to grab you." He said with a grin, teasing her a little. There were even some trees.
