Time For, Wait, Who Am I?
Backdated: Sometime in September, 2021.
Potions class was the first on the docket for muggle-born Hufflepuff dynamo Logan Thomas. The classroom itself had tables adjoined for lesson that would have the first years putting together their first potions at Hogwarts. For a pureblood with exposure to the magical world, it may have been just another day. For Logan Thomas, the experience was likened to a very old school method to make a smoothie.
The briefing from the professor[reference to the Y1 lesson] provided knowledge of a draught dubbed, forgetfulness potion. A potion that may be executed finely without mistakes, but not to be repeated if the creator took but a sip. Logan was wary of a potion that would make him forget, there wasn't a side of himself he wanted to subdue, and the idea of such almost tempted the boy to don a mask to keep a drop of that liquid falling down the hatch.
Joining him at his table were a pair of fellow first years of different houses, Slytherin and Gryffindor. The Slytherin girl was on the shorter side with curly hair, dark brown skin and freckles that Logan found added a unique charm to her appearance. The Gryffindor boy contrasted with an imposing stature for a first year, a black mane with conflicting ends that went in all directions.
Following the professor's instructions to create the forgetfulness potion, Logan's eyes would flicker between the pair of acquaintances. Lacking confidence for anything magic, a capital idea materialized in his mind. "So hear me out, how about we make this potion together at first...we can use my cauldron." Logan nudged his Cauldron toward the center of the table with an enthusiastic nod, followed by a shrug. "I mean come on, you two look like you know what you're doing. Putting our minds together might pan out, and we can get an edge on the others." Insinuating crafting the potion the fastest and displaying teamwork might actually impress the professor, though all a front for a glaring lack of confidence, afraid he couldn't create this on his own successfully. "What do you say?"

Time For, Wait, Who Am I?
Ah, potions class. Shiawase could hardly wait for her first lesson. Potions were one of the few things she actually understood without needing someone to explain it to her - it was just like cooking! All she had to do was follow the recipe exactly. She could do that in her sleep! So, she was excited for class to start! She was a little less excited when she learned they were working together with the others at their table, but only a little. And only because working in groups was either completely and utterly amazing, or the others in the group were a liability and would cause more work for her, making her wish for an option to do the assignment solo. Still, there was no reason to believe this project would fall into the latter category yet. As the boy with an athletic build, brown skin, and dark brown eyes started talking, Shiawase nodded enthusiastically.
"I think using your cauldron is a great idea! I think we should start by washing it. It looks like this potion is fairly simple. Neither part calls for much, ingredients-wise. However, the second part calls for grinding things up with a pestle and mortar, which is the most labor intensive part of creating this potion. I've had to use the pestle and mortar before in my own cooking. Maybe you two can handle part one and then I handle part two? That way everyone contributes. Also, the recipe calls for waving a wand a couple times. Who wants to use their wand for this? I think we should definitely choose one person for this task so as to maintain consistency. I'm Shiawase Mamori, by the way. It is a pleasure to meet you both!"
Shiawase was pretty confident. This was an easy potion to make, and she assigned herself what she perceived to be the hardest part of it. There was no way they could fail this!

Time For, Wait, Who Am I?
@Shiawase Mamori, @Logan ThomasAs expected, Edmund had prepared for his first Potions lesson - cleaned his cauldron, brought his wand, read the required book the night before, and did his best to pay attention as the professor explained the rules of Potions. He wrote things down on his parchment, dipping the tip of the quill on the inkwell, so he wouldn't forget about them as months went by. Out of all the classes he'd have in his first year, Potions was the one he was least excited about. It didn't seem as fun or interesting as Charms or History of Magic, and it required too much concentration for someone as hyperactive as he was.
However, Edmund had comforted himself with the thought of getting paired up with Olivia, or one of the people he had met on the Hogwarts Express, Ivy or Finius, but he was wrong. Next to him was a Hufflepuff boy of slightly above average height and a short Slytherin with curly hair and freckles all over her face, who introduced herself as Shiawase. All they needed was a Ravenclaw now.
Initially, he accepted Shiawase's words. Unlike what the Hufflepuff has said, Edmund didn't know what he was doing. Yes, he was a pureblood and had read all of Magical Drafts and Potions, but he still felt unsure of how to proceed. His brain worked against him - going often too fast, or too slow, but he couldn't let the other two know, so he was fine with working on only one half of the Potion.
"We can use my wand," Offered Edmund, with a smile, before doing a small salute, resting against the chair, arms crossed. "I'm Edmund Dempsie. Hope we can get an O together," He put his wand over the table, staring at the ingredients and the step-by-step recipe they were working on. "Shall we begin?"
