It had been 3 days after Hogwarts let its students out of school for the holiday and Cash could not wait for the next school year to roll in. Do they count themselves as a studious person? Definitely not! but their report card attested otherwise since most of their grade is O's and some E's here and there. Their mother is proud of her only daughter's achievement so far.
It was just any other afternoon in the Ironwoods Manor since yesterday Cash spend Christmas alone - like they always do - while their mother was away at the hospital. The green eyes are used to the cold and empty Manor during the holiday. The only time their mother is around, oddly, is during Summer break.
Before they go home, they extend an invitation for Henry to visit them during the break. The young socialite almost asked Henry to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day at the Manor but they know Christmas is the time where one is gathered with their own family and Cash could not take that away from Henry no matter how much they despise celebrating Christmas alone.
The green eyes have just done putting on their boots when the front door rang. They heard faintly that their mother called Cash from downstairs. "Phoenix!"Their mother called as loud as she can so Cash could hear it through their slight ajar bedroom door. The Beater tried not to wince at their first name being called out so loud.
"Yes, mother?"Cash replied back. "There is a fine young man at the door"Their mother told Cash. "He said his name is Henry and he brings his cat with him,"Cash's mother expressed. Cash knows that Henry is already in their mother's good book since their mother is more a cat person than a dog person.
"What are you even doing upstairs? Come and meet your boyfriend. Don't make him wait, Cassie!"Their mother said. When their mother said Henry is Cash's boyfriend, they wanted to facepalm their face. Cash stood up from where they were situated and walked out of their bedroom. Once their feet landed on the first floor, Cash directly walked towards their front door.
When Cash stood in front of Henry and beside their mother, Cash averted their eyes from Henry to their mother who look at the teens with a glee smile on her lips. "For the last time, mother, Henry is not my boyfriend"Cash let out an annoyed huff. Their mother's brown eyes bounced from Cash to the blue-eyed boy.
"Sure he isn't"Their mother playfully teased Cash. "If he is your boyfriend, I do not mind it either. He is cute"Cash's mother keeps teasing her daughter. "Do not you have somewhere else to be besides making fun of me?"The green eyes tried to shoo their mother gently and eyed her expectantly. "Oh right!"Their mother exclaimed.
Their mother then looked at Cash and Henry alternately. "I guess I will be around the house if you need me,"Their mother said to Cash. "Yes, mom"They Cuban descendant stated. After their mother are out of sight, Cash looked at Henry. Henry stood on front door of the Manor with Loki and a single bag in his hand.
"Sorry about that!"They rubbed the back of their neck, slightly embarrassed by their mother's antics. "My mother is not usually like that"They expressed to Henry. "Welcome to the Ironwoods Manor, by the way"They added. "Make yourself at home"Cash said after they waited for Henry and Loki to stepped inside the Manor and closes the door after him.

December 26th. The day after Christmas. The last two days felt like a rollarcoaster for the young teen, this was the first holiday that felt different. Where he celebrated with family and took part of festivities.
Christmas eve ended in fights and prejudice and words exchanged but Christmas day was better. A light in the darkness. Laughter shared, new memories and traditions created. Bonds grew closer and pranks were played. The family also got a dog.... yep a dog as a christmas present. Henry wasn't that excited over the furry animal but Gabe and Jess seemed escalated.
Henry sent owls and gifts out to his ftiends that morning not expecting anything in return when he received Cash's owl and a invite to come to their manor the next day. Choosing not to tell the others, Henry laid out a backpack that night before struggling to sleep.
Awaken from the usual night terrors, Henry got up. Changing in his clothes from his pajamas. Going throughout the day as normal until it was time.
The teen set his backpack on the bottom bunk, packing a few and certain items until he heard a voice.
"Where are you going?"
The teen looked toward the door of his shared room to find his gaze set on his step sister. Rose. Who is caught him packing, the teen was hoping to leave before the others questioned him on where he is going. Smiling softly as his stepsister as he went back to packing, the teen spoke"I'm running away," catching Rose's eye roll, the teen laughed a little as he continued"only joking, Cash invited me to visit," the teen stuffed a few more items into his bag. Some pertaining to him and some pertaining to Loki before he shut the bag, zipped it up then threw it over his shoulders.
Henry look over at his sister, crossing his arms over his chest as he heard her voice say"say hi to Cash for me." Nodding the teen playfully jabbed as he spoke"don't tell the parents for me." Henry felt Rose squeeze his hand, he flipped his over and squeezed hers for a moment as he nodded to her words.
"Ok, ok have a good time, ok?"
"Alright, I'll be back tomorrow. Try not to miss me that much."
The last few words were said a little playfully as he stepped around her toward the door of the shared room, opening the door. Henry whistled, calling his feline; Loki who came running.
Loki sat at his onwers feet as Henry slipped on a black harness and leash. The feline jumped then climbed up to Henry's right shoulder where the feline sat. Henry had his backpack over his shoulders and Loki leash in his left hand. Leaving the room, the teen ran down the stairs. Finding his father and step mother in the family room besides the door.
Henry took a deep breath then ran down the rest of the stairs, past the family room and the two adults as he called out, "going to a friend's be back tomorrow." Opening then closing the front door quickly.
Standing on the porch, Henry expected there to be some sort of effect tomorrow but he didn't focus on that when a large black shiny car came into view. Henry stared at it.
Bloody hell, Cash!
Henry ran down and pulled opened the car door, sliding into the backseat as he sat back in silence as he is taken to Cash's home.
It was sort of a long drive until they reach Cash's home which should be called manor. The teen stared at the gate then at the home when they entered. Finding it amzaing and impossible for a single home to he so large. Having only seen the Alluring manor before this, the teen is sort of taken back from exiting the car and walking toward the door.
Bloody hell! Bloody hell! Bloody hell Cash! You are rich!
A knock then a lady opened it. Henry gussed that it is Cash's mother and wanting to make a good expression on the lady, the teen spoke in Spanish to her.
"Hola perder, is Cash here?"
Perder means Miss while Hola means hello. The teen then felt a little taken back, trying to keep up with thr lady's Spanish unfortunately he haven't learned that much yet.
He heard his name and cat then felt shocked and fell back a step. Not expecting to be mistaken for Cash's boyfriend, the teen trued to correct the lady but couldn't get a word in then saw Cash appear.
Cash appeared and the teen watched the mother-daughter secen unfold. The mother switching from Spanish to English although Heney sort of wished she remained in Spanish since he felt like this situation got a lot more awkward.
Cash switched from latin to English then he watched the mother leave. Henryoved his blue gaze to Cash, listening to them. Nodding toward her words, the third year tried to lighten the situation as he playfully jabbed, "Should I feel honored then that she thinks were dating," smiling a little as he stepped inside. Loki remained on his onwer's shoulders as he looked around the large posh space.
"I still can't believe you live here, mate. This house is huge and bloody hell."
Henry spoke eyes gazing around before he remembered their owl and turned to them as he spoke"was your Christmas good?"

"Should I feel honored then that she thinks we're dating?"Henry jabbed the green eyes playfully. Cash was about to open their mouth but the tell-tale three sets of four-legged fluffball bounded down the double staircases. Immediately, the three dogs ran to where Cash's stood. The youngest out of the three, - Chanel - sniffed Henry's shoes after the boy stepped inside the Manor.
She wants to know whether Henry can be trusted or not around her owner. The ever-excited barely-there tail - Bella - wagged her tail while scratching Henry's jeans-clad legs begging for the boy to let down his cat from his shoulder. Meanwhile, the oldest of the three - Windy - sit patiently beside Cash. She stares at Henry with curious eyes.
After seeing Bella's behavior, Cash patted their left thigh so Bella come to them. The red pooch hear and looked at the gesture but instead, she walked passed by them, and behind her, Chanel also left the room. "Sorry about that, "They apologized on behalf of the dog. "She normally was not like that" The young Ironwoods added.
While Bella and Chanel already left the room, Windy still sit beside Cash. "Go along now,"They said to the white dog. The dog then looked at the green eyes first then she out to look for her two other furry friends. "About what you said, ever since you sent me those gifts both for my birthday and Christmas, my mother never stop asking me about you"They explained to Henry.
"In her own words 'When can I meet this lovely boyfriend of yours, Phoenix?'"The young socialite tried to imitate their mother's Spanish-English accent. "It seems my mother did not take no for an answer even though I told her over and over again you are not my boyfriend,"They told Henry then shook their head.
In the middle of their conversation, one of Cash's loyal helpers - Maritza - approaches the young wix. The mid 30 something woman told Cash in Spanish that the guest bedroom for Henry to stay the night had been cleaned and ready. "Thank you, Ms. Ramos"The Cuban descendant thanks the middle-aged woman in Spanish.
"I still can't believe you live here, mate. This house is huge and bloody hell!"Henry exclaimed after Maritza left the room. Cash shrugged their shoulder. "My father's motto is 'live largely or nothing at all' which for me is rubbish since it all was just a front, you know?"They uttered. "Big house does not mean whoever lived inside it are happy"They continued.
Henry more or less knows about Cash's home life and little by little Cash opened up to the blue-eyed boy. The boy that stood in front of Cash still gazing around the house then blue meet green. "Was your Christmas good?"Inquired the Viridian Viper duelist to the Beater. "Well, by now you already know nothing changed for me"They explained by that.
"Still celebrated it alone since mother was so busy down in St. Mungo's,"They continued. "But Christmas Eve was completedly disaster"They added. "Aside from that nothing new for me. How about you?"The Cuban descendant asked the third year.

His gazed was pulled toward the three small fury dog racing down the stairs. Smiling softlt at the three of them, Henry bended over. Sitting on his knees as he offered the dogs a hand to sniff, if they allowed him then he would pet them for a moment or two before standinf once more.
Loki eyes the three dogs carefully, tail flickering at the dog jumping on his onwer's pant leg. Henry smiled at the dog, offering her a hand if she allowed him to then he would pet her. Once Cash called the dog over, Henry nodded toward their words as he spoke"don't be, their adorable. What are their names?" The teen smiled at the three poodles whileoko carefully eyed them. Unsure if he should leave the safety of his onwers shoulder.
Eyes flickering back toward Cash, nodding toward their words. Smiling a little as he remembered the gifts, both times it would point toward one thing when in reality the two are merely friends. Mates. Listening to their words, Henry kept himself from laughing and only softly smiling as he playfully spoke"I'm honored then," his tone suggesting that he is only kidding as he continued"should I stop sending you gifts then so you mother stops pestering you," smiling toward his friend as he started to look forward to the day and the next when a women came up.
Spealomg Spanish to Cash that Henry caught a few words of from both.
When the room was cleared of all besides Cash, Henry, and the animals. The teen listened to their words. Nodding toward them. He felt bad for his friend and the life that they lived since it was correct, a fancy house or loads of money didn't equal happiness.
"Wealth can't buy happiness but friendships can," Henry replied smiling toward his friend as he listened to them speak. Nodding along with a soft smile. A Christmas alone? Henry felr even worse for Cash and blamed himself for not inviting them to his house for the holiday.
"If you wanted, you could have spent Christmas at my house," Henry replied softly smiling figuring his father and stepmum wouldn't have minded especially if they knew thay Cash would have been alone orherwise. Thinking over the question, Henry spoke"Christmas was fun, first one I had with a family for a few years but Christmas eve was a disaster because of extended family," the teen eyes Cash choosing not to go into details when he asked"what happened Christmas eve if you don't mind me asking. "

Once Chanel has done sniffing Henry's shoes to smell if the boy emitted danger to her owner or not, Henry bent down. The blue-eyed boy then offered his hand to be sniffed by Chanel. The youngest pooch approached Henry's hand carefully and when she thinks the boy could be trusted, she licked Henry's hand.
In return for Chanel's nice gesture, Henry patted Chanel for a moment or two before standing once again. It seems Bella also wants the boy's attention by scratching the jeans that covered Henry's leg. Either she wants to be petted too or Bella is curious about the cat that perched on Henry's shoulder. The Viridian Viper duelist then repeated the motion as he did with Chanel earlier.
He offered his hand to be sniffed but unlike Chanel, Bella licks Henry's hand with favor and her tails wagging for miles a minute, she can sense that Henry is genuinely a good person and not a thread to Cash. Henry then also patted Bella before the two dogs ran off to the next room. After Cash ordered Windy to catch up with the other two, the oldest dog out of the three walked out from the front door.
Henry then asked what was the name of Cash's dog. "The one with peach and white fur on her chest is called Chanel. She is the youngest also Windy's pup"They explained. "The one with barely-there tail wagged furiously at you because she is extremely happy with red fur name Bella"Cash continued. "And lastly, the one with white fur name Windy"The green eyes concluded.
The third year let out a small laugh when Henry said he was honored that Cash's mother mistaken him as Cash's boyfriend. "You should, mate!"They chimed in French. "I mean I am good-looking and you are not so bad either,"They said as they nudge Henry with their shoulder playfully. A wide smile spread on Cash's lips.
"Should I stop sending you gifts then so your mother stops pestering you?,"Inquired Henry. "No,"They stated. "As weirdly as it gets, I love the uncomfortable attention from my mother"Cash uttered. Cash then let out a sigh. Its been a while that their mother paid any attention to the green eyes for anything outside of how they do at school.
Then Maritza came to the front door telling Cash that the guest bedroom is ready. Cash said their thanks to the mid 30 something woman in Spanish. "Now, since your room is ready, followed me,"They told Henry. As both of them climbed up the stairs, Cash showed Henry one by one the room located on the second level of the house.
"This is the bathroom,"Cash said as they pushed down the gold handlebar of the dark brown door. Inside the door, it showed a luxurios bathroom. Adjacent to the bathroom is where the shower is located. Cash then stepped into the bathroom some more to show Henry that there's a door near the window that faces the outdoor patio and pool.
"You are lucky to have this room,"Cash said as they open the connecting door between the bathroom and the guest bedroom. "Since if my memory served me correctly there only two or three other rooms that are connected to the bathroom like this in this entire Manor"They continued. Once both of the Slytherin stepped into Henry's room fo the night, the boy speak up.
"Wealth can't buy happiness but friendships can"He said. Cash smile at the profound words that Henry spewed out. "True and I am so blessed to called you as my best mate"They agree to what Henry just said. "If you wanted, you could have spent Christmas at my house,"Henry offered after he knew that Cash spent Christmas alone.
"That would be nice since I do not have a doubt that next year Christmas will be the same for me, "The Cuban descendant said with a bit of bitterness in their tone. "Christmas was fun. The first one I had with a family for a few years but Christmas eve was a disaster because of extended family,"The blue-eyed boy explained when Cash asked how was Henry's Christmas.
The young socialite was intrigued when he said Christmas Eve was also a disaster for him because of extended family. Cash wanted to ask why it was a disaster for him but refrained to do so. Then Henry asked what happened during Cash's Christmas Eve. Cash up to this day still can not believe that they related to the Hufflepuff's Beater.
"I do not know if you know this person or not,"They started. "But it seems I am related to one of the Hufflepuff's Beaters and my dear mother liked to keep me in the dark about it,"The Latinx continued as they said with sarcasm. "And no, it was not Healy or Procoppio - that would be nice - but none other than Nightshade. Formerly known as Vivian Fletcher,"They huffed out an annoyance.
After Cash vented out to Henry, the intercom in the room buzzed in. Cash pressed the answer button, "Yeah?"They said as a greeting. "Where are you?"Their mother asked in Spanish. "The guest bedroom with Henry,"They told their mother. "Lunch is ready and brings your boyfriend,"Mrs. Ironwoods said then the intercom went silent.
Cash looked at Henry as they let out an awkward laugh. "It seems both of us had been summoned,"The Beater uttered. "Settle in and when you ready, we will head downstairs together,"They told Henry. Cash gave Henry a moment or two before both of them walked out from the guest bedroom. Cash leads the way as both of them descend from the second level towards where the dining table is located.
Before the two of them entered the dining room, Cash spun on their heels. "I do not why my mom insists that you are my boyfriend but to make our lives easier and to make this feel a bit less awkward than it already was, just go along with it, yes?"They smile up at Henry, grabbed Henry by his wrist, and enter the dining room together.

Even through owning a feline, the teen always had a soft spot for dogs. Wanting one for years on end before hogwarts, spending countless hours pleading with his father for one one birthdays ir christmases but they usually never resulted to anything.
Smiling while he nodded toward Cash on their names, absent-mindedly remembering them as he made sure to gave each a pet or starch if they allowed him to before standing to his feet. Loki looking down from hus right shoulder, watching the small fury barking or tail wagging creatures.
The teen laughed a little, stepping back from getting his shoulder nudged as he dramatically held his hands highed when he spoke a little to dramatic at best, "girls are flocking at my feet, you should be the honored one to," dropping his hands as he laughed a little brushing a few strands of hair from his eyes.
Onto the topic of sending gifts, the teen nodded toqard their words on sending gifts. Making a note to play on the fact now the next time he does, perhaps a howler stating his love for Cash could increase the awkwardness and the chance that Cash murders him for it would be totally worth it.
With the arrival of the maritza, Henry waited on the side glancing around still finding it wonderful and hard to believe that Cash lives in a freaking manor- actually he was considering the word castle better fit. Nodding to their words about the guest room, Henry followed Cash up the stairs to the second floors and down halls.
Arriving at the bathroom, a large space with windows overlooking pools and gardens. Gold handbars on the doors and long halls, Henry felt impressed as he spoke"your house is bloody huge, mate," the teen found himself not believing that half of the things that he saw were real, "acres of land, a pool, more than two floors not counting the attic. This is incredible- uh sorry, nevee rewllt been in a manor before," a little flustered as the teen followed Cash toward the guest room nodding to their words.
Walking inside the guest room, stepping close to the bed. Henry pulled off his bag and placing it on the large mattress before walking foward the center of the room. Eyes widen, not fullt believing this is where he would be staying for the night. Only him and well Loki... speaking of the feline, Loki jumped from his onwer's shoulder and started sniffing around the room.
Walkimg back toward Cash at their reply to his previous words, a soft smile as he spoke"and I'm blessed to call you on my best mates to," a little smile as he looked into their green eyes. Turlt meaning his words, not imagining a better friend than Cash. At the mention of Christmas, the teen looked around a bit as he spoke"you always welcomed at my home or maybe next year we can throw a Christmas party together, you have the space," a little smile as he looked over at the fellow slytherin.
Offering his ear, the teen listened to Cash's words. Related to someone at Hogwarts? A moment as he thought back to the hufflepuff team, searching for the name until he spoke"the second string beater? Vivian is her name," not knowing that Vivian is there quil pal, "we can always mess with her at hogwarts or perhaps lock her in the chamber for a night? I'll even pretend to be the snake whisper so she doesn't find out," a mischievous gint in his eyes and a small sly smile lasting for a few moments before fading back to his soft one.
A intercom buzzed with the voice of Cash's mother, claiming that lunch is ready and calling for Cash plus their boyfriend? Henry smiled a little when the intercom went silent as he spoke"you better get a date soon before your mother suggests something else," his words said in a playful tone as he listened then nodded toward Cash.
Nodding, Henry then heard their second request and figured it wouldn't hurt as he spoke"fine, this better stay between us and no teaseing later," warning their friend as he followed Cash from the room and toward where they were suppose to go with Loki at his heels.
As they walked, the teen remembered something as he spoke"how's the silmey- I mean Aero doing?" Still not likening snakes but asking for his friend.

When Henry held his hands high and spoke like an old English aristocratic with a dramatic flair, Cash let out a small chuckle. "Yeah, yeah. Aren't you the Casanova"They said as they nudged Henry's shoulder playfully as they climbed up the stairs towards where the room Henry will be staying for the night. The green eyes showed the bathroom around to Henry.
"Your house is bloody huge, mate,"He said as the pair stepped into the bathroom to the Cash shrugged their shoulders. "My parents are, not me"They uttered. True the Ironwoods are well-known and had a respectable reputation within the Wizarding World but Cash still lived off with their parents so the wealth belongs to Cash's parents, not them.
"Acres of land, a pool, more than two floors not counting the attic. This is incredible- uh sorry, never really been in a manor before,"Henry continued as the pair left the bathroom and ventured forward to the guest room. "No worries about it, really"They spoke.
"I mean do not get me wrong. I am grateful for the things I have but living here alone, in this huge Manor, it gets lonely from time to time"Cash stated. Good thing they have their pooches and Aero to accompany them but sometimes Cash longed for the warmth that used to be there in the Manor that once Cash called home.
Cash has spoken about how blessed they are having Henry as one of their best mate and the blue-eyed boy share the same view as the Cuban descendant. Henry then looked around when both of the third years mentioned Christmas. "You always welcomed at my home or maybe next year we can throw a Christmas party together, you have the space,"The Viridian Viper duellist stated.
Cash cocked their head aside a bit. "Huh?,"They exclaimed. "I never thought it that way and yes I got the space."The green eyes agreed with what their best mate said. "And my mother never turned down an opportunity to be a good host"Cash informed the boy that stood beside them. The young Ironwoods shook their head.
They never understand their mother's penchant for hosting any kind of party. Then Cash told Henry about what went down during their Christmas Eve dinner and how they are now related to Hufflepuff's second-string Beater which is Vivian Nightshade.
"We can always mess with her at Hogwarts or perhaps lock her in the chamber for a night? I'll even pretend to be the snake whisper so she doesn't find out,"There's a mischieve glint in his eyes. "You thought this well eh, mate?"They let out a small laugh. Cash more or less know about Henry's fondness for pranks. Then the intercom rang and filled the room.
Their mother told the serpents that lunch is ready. "You better get a date soon before your mother suggests something else,"Henry expressed after the intercome went silent. Cash let out a low groan. "Ugh! do not remind me about that,"They expressed. "I am sure you still remembered what happened between Mason and I, right?"They looked at Henry knowingly.
"Who in their right minds betrothed their kids?"Cash grumbled in French to themselves but loud enough for Henry to hear their dislike about the crazy arrangement. "Fine, fine. I will not tease you and this stay between us"They smiled up at Henry. As they descend the stairs toward where their mother and the Ironwoods' Manor personal chef are located, the blue-eyed boy asked about Aero.
"Aero is fine. He is in his terrarium in my bedroom. Thank you for asking about him"Cash told Henry as they grabbed and dragged Henry to the dining table. Once both of them were seated, Cash's mother looked at them with a joyous glint in her eyes. Their mother then let out a happy sigh.
"What?"Cash looked at their mother. The young socialite tried not to roll their eyes at their mother's antics. "Nothing, love"Mrs. Ironwoods replied in Spanish. "But?,"Cash knows very well there is a but coming. "No buts. I just love young love"Their mother exclaimed. Cash wants to rebuke and told their mother for the umpteenth time that Henry was not their boyfriend.
"So, Henry, right?"The Healer addressed Henry. Cash dreaded what their mother will ask from the boy that was seated beside them. "Tell me when both of you meet and how long have you dated this firecracker?"Their mother inquired the Duellist. "For the millionth time, mother, Henry is not my boyfriend"Cash crossed both of their arms in front of their chest and let out a childish huff.
"Shush, you! I am asking Henry and I do not trust you. You do not tell me anything as of late"Their mother chides in Spanish. Cash wants to retort 'and whose fault is that?' but they held their tongue. "So?,"Their mother looked at Henry again. "Tell me everything"Their mother put her left hand under her chin and smiled from ear to ear.
Throughout the lunch, Cash squeezed Henry's hand, hoping Henry can lie through his teeth and hopefully their mother believed his story. If not, their mother will be pestering Cash until only God knows when. And for the rest of the lunch, let's just say it has never been that much awkward for the green eyes.

Outfit of The Day
Before Henry goes back to his home, Cash has told the blue-eyed boy that they want to bring Henry to a local park. And so when the day started to become dusk, Cash told their mother that they and Henry will go to the downtown park. A short drive later, both of the Slytherins arrived at the local park that belong to one of the prestige Muggle universities that are open to the public.
The pair walked a bit until the green eyes were seated on the green grass that faced the beautiful lake the park offered. For a moment both of the teens fall into silence. Cash opened and closed their mouth. It feels like their mind runs miles a minute. The green eyes then took a deep breath and exhale it sharply. They rubbed the back of their neck.
Lost at words. "I missed her, you know,"Cash averted their eyes from the lake to Henry. And just like that, the floodgate had opened. "I know what happened to her was not my fault but why I feel it is my fault?"Cash smiled sadly and let out a heavy breath. "I always wonder what if that accident never happened,"Their chest started to feel heavy and Cash can feel their eyes grow hot from the unshed tears that pooled in their eyes.
After Cash received a letter from Kara's parents a few days before last year's Christmas, Opeila caught their brokedown and Henry knew all about Kara's accident. "If that accident never happened, she still is here, you know"Cash continued. "She still remembers me and I am still happy with her,"They whispered softly in Spanish.
From the distance, Cash hear a laugh that they longed to hear beside them. They looked up and just like clockwork the girl that used to fill their heart can be seen. The girl is accompanied by her mom. Kara is so near and yet at the same time is so far away from the Beater. Cash let out a sigh.
They blinked their eyes and the tears that pooled in their green eyes slowly rolled down their cheeks. Cash swipe the tears harshly. They always hated when others see them cry. For them, tears are a sign of weakness. The young socialite then looked at Henry with bloodshot eyes.
"Am I that unloved, H?"They asked in French to the boy as they rest their head on Henry's shoulder. "First my father left my mother and me,"They chuckled bitterly. Cash tried to hold back a sob. "And now her,"Cash lifted up their head from Henry's and look at the mother-daughter duo from where both of them were situated.
Breaking up with Kara was not their decision and so far the toughest decision that the young socialite ever took. The situation that the short-haired brunette was in forced the green eyes to end the relationship with the other girl. The girl's laughter is like a knife that stabbed their heart.
Cash let out a sigh as they put their head back on Henry's shoulder again. They closed their eyes to control the stabbing pain that pierced their heart. "I think I loved her but it was too late now,"Cash forced a laugh through their tears. The Cuban descendant looked at the lake that slowly grow dark with the passing minute.
"Promise me if one day you get tired of me, you tell me, okay?"Cash said softly while tears rolled down their cheeks. "I guess what I am trying to say, I do not know what will I become or do if I lose you or Starlee,"Cash swipe the rebel tears. "Both of you are important to me, my family, and all I got,"The Beater said honestly.
"So no matter how hard down the road, do not leave me, please,"Cash told Henry with a small voice and almost close to begging. The green eyes never feel this small and vulnerable. Cash rarely show their emotion but when they do, it is always comes from the deepest part of their heart.
