Hanako talked about 'forbidden romances' but didn't he know the key word there? Forbidden! If he liked forbidden romances so much then he should just be HAPPY he wasn't allowed to talk about it....maybe that meant he was gonna be quiet...?

And was it Jake or did even Hanako's own partner not seem to like what he was talking about very much? Maybe that would make him stop, if Jake coudln't. Peer pressure could make a lot of things happen. Usually bad things, yeah, but sometimes good, right? You could peer pressure somebody to follow rules, just as much as you could peer pressure them to break them, though from Jake's experience it didn't work quite as well. Still, maybe Starlee's disapproval would make Hanako focus on dueling.

And when the dueling continued, Hanako and Starlee's wands would raise, not at their opponents, but at each other. They must have both realized what was happening to them, and that if they weren't careful they would be slowed down so much they coudln't even duel. But with their attention on each other, Eun-ji had the time to turn her own wand at herself. With an extinguishing charm, she put out the flames before they could burn her skin. How come Jake had never seen anybody do that before? He breathed a sigh of relief.

But Hanako and Starlee couldn't move at full speed, and it would cost them. As they tried to aim at each other, Del would see what they intended to do. It all seemed to happen at once. Hanako and Starlee spoke the incantation of the counter spell, and Delilah sent a gust of wind right at Starlee! Hanako's spell was first...and Starlee would feel her movement return just in time, but before she could finish saving Hanako as well, a gust of wind would blow her back! Maybe it was that that ruined Starlee's concentration, because while Starlee would feel her movements returning to normal, and while she tried to cast the spell, it would have no effect. Hanako would feel himself slowing down even more than before...moving his wand at all would become a struggle. How was he going to aim?

This duel takes place during Day 2!

Of course, they had to go on a super defensive stance in this round. This thing- whatever it is they were hit with- was going to cause mega problems in the future if not taken out quickly. It’s not much of a surprise that Hanako opted to cast a general counter towards Starlee. Fighting a duel with 2 against 1 was extra stressful. Hana had enough on his hands already. What surprised him the most was that Starlee did the same. Or at least attempted to. There were several thoughts going through the boy’s mind when she failed to cast the spell.

1) What the hell!?
She was soooo cocky and whiny about being his partner (she was not) and she couldn’t even cast a simple spell like that? And not only that but she got hit too? Bye. Perhaps he wasted his spell on her.

2)Wht the hell~?
Critical fail aside, he was astonished that she would even consider helping him a worthy action. Wasn’t it just a tad bit adorable that they intended to help one another? Just a teeny wheeny bit? From their interactions, one would assume they’d cast the spell on themselves instead of the other. Knowing Kennedy seeing his superiority when it comes to casting spells left him feeling rather warm inside.

Like receiving an act of kindness from a grumpy old hag. Yea, something like that.

He was tempted to show her a smug smile if she wasn’t having trouble with Ventus being wrapped around her making it near impossible for her to hold her ground. That, and he felt the effects of this jinx growing stronger by the second so he wasn’t really in the mood to smile. Or talk to the Ravenclaws, unfortunately. Surely, they had missed his wondrous voice by now. That was why he hasn't been the sole target of their attention, was it? Saved the best for last, of course~. Gahhh if only he was in the mood to point this out.

Edit: It's come to my attention that I wrote -4 Accuracy instead of -4 Evasion for Starlee's stats after Ventus. I've corrected it above.

Starlee knew what needed to be done, both her and Tone needed to be rid of whatever this irritating charm was that was making their aim's entirely off-kilter. Of course, she figured that casting it upon herself wouldn't be the best course of action, she didn't feel she had nearly the same level of skill that Hanako did, so why waste it on herself?

To her surprise, Tone did the same, raising his wand in her direction. Oh lord, he wasn't going to cast something nasty at her right? No, no, of course not, he would be too invested in winning. Instead, they both cast the same counter charm at each other, hoping to rid the other of its effects. It was strange, she honestly hadn't expected him to try to cast the charm at her as well, figuring he would go on the offensive instead. He was certainly the type of person to only care about himself, so why cast at her as well? Her choice made sense, he was older, could cast more spells, but this was something Starlee just couldn't quite comprehend.

This is when Starlee's face flushed with embarrassment, as her wand fizzled out, the charm not leaving her wand whatsoever. Tone's had been perfect, but she had managed to mess something up that should have been easy. Thankfully Tone didn't have any witty quip for her, but that was also probably because she had now been enveloped in a small tornado courtesy of Stewart. 'Perfect, just perfect,' she thought to herself, starting to get more stressed about the situation. She was now caught in this wind and Tone looked like he could barely move his arm. 'Not good.'

Eun-ji was pretty tired of being on fire. She was able to last a long time without extinguishing herself in the past but seeing how slow her opponents were thanks to Del’s well-aimed Impedimenta, she figured it would be okay to take care of herself for once. Hoping the two wouldn’t attack, given their predicament, the younger Ravenclaw elected to get rid of the burning flame. There, much better. She breathed a sigh of relief after successfully doing so.

Overall, it appeared this round was pretty good for her team. Eun-ji was no longer in pain and while Hanako managed to help Starlee but she was soon hit by Del’s Ventus. Eun-ji was not someone, who enjoyed other people’s misfortune however considering Starlee’s reaction upon seeing her on fire, she didn’t really feel too sorry for the girl. It was kind of poetic, she managed to avoid her spell just few seconds ago only to be hit with it the very next round. Granted, Eun-ji was not the one to deliver the blow but she honestly didn’t mind. Duelling was a team effort and she never enjoyed being the shining star. Except for her ballet performances of course. “You are kind of awesome.” She smiled at her teammate. The witch liked to give credit where credit was due and now was a good opportunity to do it. Taking into account the beginning of the duel, she expected the silence to be mostly filled by Hanako but he wasn’t exactly in a condition to so right now.

Poor guy, even when his grumpy teammate tried to help, which was honestly unexpected, she only managed to intensify the effect of the spell rather than cancel it. That was always something the raven-haired girl feared. Trying to help and ending up making things worse for her partner. She didn’t doubt such thing would happen eventually if she stuck with duelling but she could at least hope to avoid it for as long as possible. As bizarre as it may have sounded, she’d much rather stay a walking human torch than having that to happen.

Delilah was focused but not focused enough to miss what her teammate said to her. She grinned, feeling the sense of validation and satisfaction. Although her low self esteem not allowing her to properly take the compliment. "Thank you, but I'm not really." She chuckled. "You're doing great!" Not very many people were able to simply shake off being set on fire.

Jake always watched his duelists with a lot of apprehension. Ever since his first duel had gone so wrong, he knew that there was more that you had to watch out for than just the spells. But today...well everybody seemed to be getting along. It seemed that something had happened on the Slytherin team last round. Ever since the two had raised their wands to save each other, they were looking at each other differently. It was almost like they were...surprised? But wasn't helping your team what you were supposed to do?

While Starlee still had her full motion, the wind was still billowing around her, making it hard to move nonetheless. Perhaps seeing that Hana's arm seemed much more slowed than his legs, the Ravenclaws turned on the Slytherin girl. Dual knockback jinxes flew forward, reminding Jake of the Gryffindor duels he'd watched, headed straight towards Starlee! There was almost nothing she could do, but drop to the ground, and let them sail overhead, just narrowly avoiding them right in the nick of time! That had been a close one.

But then there was Hanako. If his legs were working before, now the air would feel even thicker....Soon he wouldn't be able to move at all! Delilahs spell was still working its magic on him, little by little, and he would know that his ability to duel was getting very very strained. And so, the boy did the only thing that he could. As Hanako waved his wand, the platform would begin to fill with a thick smoke, making it hard to see, for EVERYONE. If Hanako wasn't able to move, he was going to make sure that everyone was going to be just as disadvantaged as he was. After all, it was hard to hit him if you couldn't SEE him. Jake nodded. It was a smart move he thought. (He wondered if he dueled next year if he could just make sure the platform was always smoky ALL the time.)

This duel takes place during Day 2!

He was fond of equality and balance, especially when it meant that everyone suffered. Why should he be the only one suffering with horrid aim? Despite the effects of the jinx taking over his legs now, he felt oddly nostalgic at the scene, if you could call a mist of fog one. The familiar blur of scenery still made him irk. This smokescreen spell was one of the main blunders he had to face with Ileen in their last duel. To make matters worst, the Gryffindors didn’t seem affected at all.

Still, Hanako was more than pleased to see the Ravenclaws didn’t have the same skill. Thank god for that oh my gooooddd this would’ve turned really bad if they were anything like Lamik & Everly. Kudos to the lions for teaching him how to be a nuisance to everyone including his teammates. Surprisingly helped in this situation! Hopefully would help out in the next round as well.

“Sorry fair ladies~” he called out sweetly through the fog, perhaps to the dismay of the moderator. “Gotta wait a while until you see my face again. Don’t cry too much for me, okay~” Perhaps it was easier for them to pinpoint his location considering he spoke up but compared to Starlee, he wouldn’t mind taking a few hits. Plus he missed messing with the Ravenclaws. Shame he couldn’t see their face though.

The smoke make it hard to see anyone, but since Starlee was his partner it was easier to see her struggling. More specifically, it was easier to hear if she was screaming in pain. That was a good indication to know if she was hit or not. Thankfully no screams were heard. Good, that’s good.

Continue being capable and he’ll perhaps he’ll start to think she’s not so bad to have as a partner. Perhaps he could even tolerate her after the duels finish.

With the way the duel has been going so far, Starlee knew the Ravenclaws has been out to get her, and she wasn’t quite ready to go down just yet. She quickly saw their wands pointed directly at her, and so she did the first thing she could think of, and dropped quickly to the ground, dodging not one, but both of their spells. It had been close, but she had managed. Now the piste was covered in a thick fog thanks to Hanako, who was certainly looking worse and worse as time went on. At least this could maybe even things out somewhat.
