The match was still young, neither team was backing down from this fight anytime soon. Even the snake lacking sight was still very much in this duel. The Raven's hoped to take advantage of this fact though.

The poor blindfolded Ileen was in quite the bind. Both of the Ravenclaw wands pointed towards her, it was too good an opportunity to pass up. A Rictusempra from Robert and an Incendio Duo from Mars headed towards the snake. Galton cringed as he waited for the target to catch fire. But while hindered by the lack of sight, she would not be stopped completely. By possibly the closest mark possible, Ileen made it out of the way of the fire. Maybe she had felt the flames and known to move just a bit further to be missed.

Sadly, she would not be able to pull that off twice. Robert's spell would find her, the tiny invisible magic hands went about tickling Ileen. Though the feeling would linger, she had gotten the blindfold off, and now had her vision once again.

While the Ravenclaw duelists had focused once again on Ileen, they'd left Bridget unchallenged. Unbothered by anything, Bridget would produce a truly torrential gust of wind. It seemed as if she had unleashed hurricane grade winds on her opponents. Mars was first in the path, and would be easily swept away. Things seemed better for Robert, but at the last moment a subtle shift caught part of his body. It was not as brutal of a hit as Mars had taken, but his hair was blown back wildly.

With the casting dying out for a breathe or two it seemed that the ravens were worse for wear than the snakes. But it would be foolish to think the duel was anywhere near over. The fun had just begun!

Although they were in the middle of battle, a smile jumped on Ileen’s as she heard Robert praising her spell and aim. That lifted a great burden from her, something only her twin, Aida, had done before: She felt less guilty and bad for attacking him. He embraced the nature of the duel and let her know that it was okay. ”Thank you, Robert.” It was barely more than a whisper, but it came from the heart. Encouraged through the support of Bridget, she was ready to go all in.

Head back in the game, Ileen raised her wand to remove her blindfold, knowing that she might be an easy target. And indeed, while she was preparing to lift it, she felt and heard a spell flying her way. She trusted her instincts and stepped aside, feeling the hot air of the bypassing jinx. A proud smile curled her lips and very happy with her performance, she raised the wand once more.
This time, she was too slow though. Another spell hit her right in the chest and she felt a thousand tiny little hands running over her body, tickling her.
Ileen hated it. She hated, hated, hated it. She never had liked being forced to laugh. Not with her parents, not with jinxes. But she couldn’t help it. Giggling and snorting she tried to shake it off, but it didn’t work.
With all the force she could bring up, she raised her wand again and finally removed her blindfold, finding her opponents trapped in the wind. Wow. Credits to Bridget.
“You - haha - were very productive. Ha. Thank you for chipping in for me. Hahaha.”

The Ravenclaws were, predictably, both after Ileen. It was a solid plan on their part despite the obviousness, for why pass up a target who couldn’t see a thing in favor of doing something unexpected? It was an advantage, and of course they were going to use it. “Two incoming,” she commented briefly to Ileen, who was surely already aware.

But with that offensive focus resting squarely on Ileen, Bridget had a wealth of time rare in duels. She did not have to rush through the cast, could take more careful aim, could let the spell’s potential build for a little longer. The result was easily the best Ventus she’d ever cast in a duel, and possibly even outside of the stage, winds whipping and splitting to catch both opponents.

Duels did not allow time for celebration—one excellent cast would not win her the match—but surely she could spare a grin at her handiwork. She couldn’t keep the pride from leaking out a little, anyway. That had felt good, really good.

Another bright spot: Ileen had managed to only be hit by one of two spells. “Nice dodge!” That was quite the feat, between the inability to see where spells were placed and lack of sight making balance difficult. With that check on her teammate and a “Thank you,” at the compliment, she returned her concentration to across the stage. You always had to be thinking of the next cast, whether the last one was good or terrible.

The second time the wind came, Robert was slightly more prepared. He was able to twist his body mostly around the spell, but a piece of it still connected with his shoulder. To his amazement, this seemed to be one of the rare occasions where Ventus split itself in two, allowing both himself and Mars to be targeted. Unfortunately, this unexpected turn of events seemed to take his partner by surprise as well, and the extra stream of air hit them in what looked like a particularly nasty fashion. The duel wasn't turning out quite the way he'd hoped, but there was still time. "Come on Mars, we got this," he called over to them, in what he hoped was an encouraging manner.

So, not the best luck. Of course the one time they'd actually seen Ventus split, it was against them.

At least Robert had hit.

Blowing back the hair that whipped around their face, they gave him a strained grimace. Takes a lot out of you, water and wind. And neither spell intended for them.

"Mhmm," they called back to him, "So happy I have a natural attraction to spells." They didn't know the half of it.

Chaos whipped around the stage, but leaving the duelists in better shape then last they cast.

Mars made an important decision, possibly even life-saving - to forgo spells and focus on letting them pass the Raven by. It was too soon to wake up in the hospital wing.

Both the snakes made aim for Mars, they’d chosen well. Bridget would be first to try and lift the raven into perpetual flight with a Leviosa. It was an easy dodge. Ileen on the other hand would give Mars a run for their money. A Ventus the split in air came barreling for the Ravenclaw pair.

By a slight margin Mars would let the wind pass by, last round would not repeat itself. At least not for Mars… Robert was another story. Clipped by the wind once again, his hair was thrown into a tizzy.

Robert’s own spell, the same from last round, Rictusempra, would head for Ileen once more. With eyes exposed though, Ileen would barely make it out of the way. Not a sitting duck anymore!

It was intense, Galton was on the edge of his seat. Metaphorically that is, he was standing, as any good moderator would be. Would they knock him to the floor in amazement with their next moves?!

Ileen briefly glanced at her partner, Bridget, to check if she was fine. Well, there was nothing to worry about. The older Co-Captain was on the top of her game. She seemed as healthy as a bird in the wind. A relieved and warm smile flashed over the third year's grade face, but there was no time for that.
Both of them had their attacks prepared and threw their spells at the same time. Mars was apparently prepared for that, but Ileen didn’t see it. Her eyes were fixed on the boy who had made the clever choice to put that horrible tickling spell on her.
She was still trying to suppress the giggling and wiggling to not completely miss her target. The smile she gave him might have seemed kind of forced though since she tried not to burst into breathless laughter.
Her wand was pointing at him, but her aim was still a bit off and the boy was a little bit faster than she had expected. Her spell almost missed him.But just almost. “Fast on your feet!” She giggled her compliment, still fighting the tickling spell. But she wasn’t too slow either. Just in time she avoided his attack, still giggling like a teenager (well, she was one).

Entirely unintentionally--neither of her spells were supposed to go for Mars--Bridget had landed two solid hits on the quick Ravenclaw and left them looking a little winded. But sometimes the best things happened when you took the presented opportunities and ran with them, and squinting slightly to check if she was sure that Mars' strength was waning, she decided to give it a shot. She opted for the Levitation Charm, intending to keep Mars a suspended target, but just the problem she was trying to obviate--their speed--foiled her plan. Ah well, her and Ileen were still in a good spot if Mars felt they needed to dedicate more energy to dodging than casting.

As for Ileen, to say Bridget was impressed to see her Wind Jinx split would be an understatement. "You split!" Her voice was full of a mix of excitement and pride; any spell split was an achievement, especially for those of them who hadn't mastered the technique. And it was the fact that it was right after Bridget's had split that was truly notable, this sort of thing not being some common occurrence. It was like the younger girl had resolved to replicate what she'd just seen; their practice together must be paying off in a neat synergy.

At least dodging had been the right call. Mars winced as they watched the edge of the Ventus hit Robert, knees aching as they crouched against the piste. Another split. The luck of the gods, huh?

Mars blew a straight hair out of their face, rolling up to their feet. They crackled a knuckle, and then their spine, pivoting around in place. A reset was in order. The situation was dire. But not impossible, not yet.

They took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the wand in their hand. Maybe, just a little, the dark splashes of panic had started creeping into their vision, the feeling of failure inching in. The memories flashed hard and fast through their mind--Mars caught a hold of them and forcibly shoved them to the side. Not right now. Not while the two of them were still standing. They owed that much to Robert at least, to the team.

"We'll go down swinging if we have to," they muttered, flipping their wand into casting position.

Robert grimaced both Ileen and his spells came close to hitting their targets. Unfortunately, Ileen's came slightly closer than his, clipping the top of his head and yanking it back. "Thanks for the advice," Robert replied to his opponent with a wry smile, giggling in spite of himself at her laughter. Even if magically induced, laughter is always contagious.

Snapping back to the duel, Robert looked over at his opponent to see how they were doing. His relief in their ability to dodge soon turned into incredulous amazement. "Seriously, two ventus splits in succession?" At this point, he couldn't quite tell if he was irked or impressed.
