Backstory: Pre hogwarts.
Second child but the oldest son out of four siblings. He was born and grew up in Belfast Ireland. Being muggleborn he didn't know about the existence of magic but he read any fantasy novels he could get his hands on. He is naturally tall making him decent at some sports by default at his age but didn't put in a lot of effort into sports. Fin enjoys reading books and ignores most things people talk about unless it's to him directly. He made friends with people who lived nearby mostly his older sister's and younger brothers friends who were nice enough to let him hang around when his parents forced him to leave the house and socialize. He grew up homeschooled by religious conservative parents. Why they let him go to hogwarts is a genuine mystery. Maybe they realized he needed to go out and make his own decisions and mistakes and this was the first time he had ever shown a passion for anything outside of his normal comfort zone of reading and TV; No doubt it still took some convincing by the school recruiter but they realized it was an huge opportunity entirely new to their upbringing, a potential career path that he would find.
Fin didn't know any of this, he was just happy to go learn something entirely new to him.
Was never physically bullied but often gets embarassed in social situations where his sheltered upbringing has lead to misunderstandings. He usually tries to escape from his negative thoughts through fantasy books and cartoons. He feels like he's missed out on most of the normal childhood experiences in his muggle life and he is afraid of missing out on the new experiences offered at Hogwarts. He wants to use this chance to live his new life to the fullest, if he can get past his insecurities.
