Kaegen vs. Eris | Red, Blue & Black
It went without saying that first years wouldn't be the best duelists. Being new to the school as well as limited to few spells made them the underdogs of the Dueling Club, but thankfully there were enough of them to pair them up against each other. It was a relief that the first duelists had been prefects - lead by example, wasn't that the saying? - but now they had moved on to the student duels, and it was safe to say that Leonie was highly uneasy about it. What if they ended up hurting someone in the crowd that wasn't her? Not the best idea.
The dueling room was bland, spare the few magical portraits hung on the walls. A thin, wooden platform was in the center of the room, a platform for the duelists to be showcased. On that platform stood Leonie, centered. She wore her usual black turtleneck with trousers, but without a robe. She held her hands behind her back, and her light blonde hair fell down behind her shoulders. She looked as she usually did, there was nothing special about that day. It was only a duel, there was nothing to worry about.
Students flooded into the room, mainly from Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. It made sense, considering those were the houses of the two duelists that day. Though a few yellow and green robes still lingered in the room. "Welcome to the duel of Kaegen Deathmote versus Eris Fawley," Leonie spoke. Her voice suggested that she used the amplification charm, but she had done nothing of the sort. She was just yelling. "Any signs of wands outside of pockets, except for Eris and Kaegen, and you will be given detention." She explained simply, a monotonous look on her face. She so didn't want to be doing this right now.
This was no mock duel, this was something real of sorts. Of course, if things got to an extreme point, Leonie would have to step in, but this was a test of skill. It was the most efficient way to demonstrate, Cazarez had mentioned at some point. She motioned her hands to bring Kaegen and Eris onto the platform, and she would watch as they did their salute of respect, took their respective places at the ends of the platform, and bowed. Then, she would step off into the front of the crowd of students, causing a few to back away from her, intimidated by her to an extent. She would then, finally, begin the duel.
"You may begin."

A duel…
With Eris?
No.
No, this was not going to happen. He had promised to protect her. Did they honestly expect him to fire a spell at her? He PROMISED. Who organized this, did they even realize what a promise was? What it meant to him? She could hit him as much as she wanted, he would not return fire. How did one lose this, anyway?
By leaving the raised dueling area, or by being hurt until surrender.
His eyes stared at Eris, piercing and tired. He had been staying up and it showed. That, in addition to his recent resolve to slow down, to focus on what was in front of him, made for a rather unsettling appearance. His eyes slowly moved to look at the teacher in charge of the duel. She was in charge of this, wasn’t she? Was she even going to let him go? Let him off so easily?
Probably not. He would probably be forced to see this through. Looking back at eris, his face showed nothing, thinking about a move that would work, before remembering to smile. Smiles were nice, they meant it was going to be alright. The corners of his mouth lifted, and he bounced lightly on his feet as he cast the spell.
Wrong.
On purpose.
This was going to shoot him backwards, it was how the spell worked. If you miscast it, then you were sent flying instead of the target.
And there was nothing the teacher could do about it.
“Fleependo”

Kaegen Deathmote.
Fighting Kaegen? No. Not him, anyone but him. This was Professor Scumburger's fault. First she had dished out detentions like parents handed out candy on Halloween, and now this? There was no way that Eris was going to fight Kaegen. Of all the people to fight, it had to be Kaegen. It couldn't of been someone that deserved to be hit. Like Eri Windstone or Ami Procoppio. This was an outrage, and was obviously the Hair racist Sytherin Head of House's fault. Why was she so adverse to red hair? It wasn't fair, but Eris didn't dare to call her out on it and risk another horrible detention with the strict blonde woman.
Directing her thoughts away from the terrifying woman who was runnning their duel, Eris studied Kaegen quizzically. Studying her friend with a worried expression, Eris noticed that he looked exhausted. His eyes, which normally darted around were piercing, staring at her with a frighting intent. Than Kaegen smiled, and Eris wondered what was about to happen. He seemed remarkably calm, a fact that caused Eris to feel worried. That was a bad sign, if Kaegen had a plan and was calm. Kaegen's plans normally went very, very wrong.
Wearily, Eris stared at her friend as he cast a spell. A spell that was said extremely wrong. So wrong it was funny. A smile blossomed on Eris's lips, as she pointed her own wand at Keagen. Of course, she wasn't going to hurt him. They weren't actually going to duel. That would be absurd.

Kaegen vs. Eris | Red, Blue & Black
MODERATOR NOTE:
I was asked to assist Professor Scheinberg in completing current duels.
Sebastian walked over to Professor Scheinberg, and whispered something to her in close proximity. There was a moment, before the Prefect nodded and walked over to take over with the duel; the blonde Professor made an exit, the situation Sebastian was asked to bring to her attention serious enough to warrant a sudden departure. Which left the duelists about to cast their attacks, to which Sebastian observed with mild interest...
And no sooner had it begun, than it was over.
Sebastian watched as both students faced off. There seemed to be some hesitation, as though they were unwilling to begin the duel, as various emotions showed between the pair. Still, they had signed up for the duel and it seemed a shame that they weren't willing to at least try, judging by the moment shared; and no sooner did Sebastian see Kaegen smiling, than he cast a Flipendo... very terribly.
On the other end of the dueling space, Eris unleashed a powerful... Lumos.
Sebastian sighed, as he watched Kaegen backfire, and couldn't help but smirk as the boy flipped through the air and landed outside the dueling boundary. He landed roughly, but would otherwise be fine; meanwhile, Eris successfully emitted an orb of light, effectively winning the duel with such an effective choice of attack.
"Eris Fawley wins," Sebastian sighed, putting his hands into his pockets. He looked to the next pair. "You're next."
