Despite the good start, the Ravenclaw team didn't seem to have a lucky round this time.

Samantha pointed her wand towards Dmitri once again, but something must have distracted her, because the flames that were supposed to come out of her wand never did; instead, the incendio duo fizzled out. Cade had a little bit more luck, as his Ventus flew straight for Dmitri; the Slytherin boy however, despite still being blindfolded, made sure that nobody would hit him in that round: in front of him appeared an invisible shield as his shield charm was cast. The moment that Ventus hit the barrier, the spell was sent straight back towards Cade, who was quick enough and managed to avoid any damage.

As the wind died down, Opeila walked over to Dmitri and freed him from the blindfold; now the boy was able to see again, and the duel could continue with all the duellists more than ready to battle.

Overconfident, Samantha cast her second spell of the duel, again aiming at Dmitri. She would show the boy he wasn't as good as he thought he was, or that was what she wanted to do. Her confidence boosted by her spell from the last round, the brunette didn't focus enough and instead of Dmitri's robe catching fire her spell fizzled out before even leaving her wand. She stared at the wand in her hand with great disappointment and blamed the poor piece of cherry wood for the failed spell.

Luckily, no spell had been aimed at her when she was distracted by her failure. While she had been staring at her wand, her duelling partner had sent a beautiful ventus to the snake, which sadly had rebounded due to the protego which protected Dmitri, and Opeila had removed the fifth year's blindfold. "Do you enjoy seeing again, Jones?" the young girl yelled across the stage when she finally looked away from her wand. Samantha enjoyed bantering during her duels and having had Dee and Alec as her examples in her first duel, she even found it normal to do so. The fact that she was the only one whose spell had failed didn't stop her from saying anything.

At Lydia's mark, Cade didn't hesitate to wave his wand, casting an impressive wind jinx over towards Jones. Cade was so sure it would work, that he'd once again fool the older snake. But unfortunately, despite being blindfolded, Jones was two steps ahead, producing a beautiful shield before the wind could hit him. Fine, that was fine... Samantha would-- Cade glanced at her briefly with a questioning stare. Quickly he put one and two together based on her look of outrage towards her wand. Whatever spell she'd planned was a dud. Cade chewed his tongue, swallowing a comment not worth sharing. They couldn't afford any casting failures. It was lucky that Dmitri was busy doing defensive tactics, but Cade had a nasty feeling that wouldn't last for long. Stonily, Cade would watch as Opelia removed Dmitri's blindfold for him before taking a calming breath and concentrating on his next move.

Dmitri couldn't do anything but cackle as he watched his spell hit both opponents at once. The thing that sets him apart from these tryhard lower-years was that he can keep talking and back it up with actual competence.

They still had a lot to learn—maybe how to multitask opening their mouths and casting actual spells at the same time. At their age, it seemed to him that they can only do one or the other.

"We're still approaching the exciting part." He'd say to himself amusedly.

Opeila returned a smile that was just as fake as her captain's. "Perhaps. But perhaps this wouldn't even be necessary because perhaps if you stopped putting all your effort into being a pain you might have actually avoided that blindfold, just saying."

Opeila stepped back once the older boy was free of his blindfold and turned her attention back to the Ravenclaws. She waited until Dmitri had finished his bullying before she spoke up. "Apologies, not all of us are as stuck-up." Yes, Opeila did feel like testing the limits. How much could she give back to her lovely captain before he blew up?

Dmitri seemed more than determined to put an early end to the duel judging by his choices: not only he had cast a spell that could potentially target two players at once, but he also showed a great example of his skills, as his Ventus split into two, targeting both Cade and Samantha. Of course, this time was the time in which the wind jinx would split, because the jolt of wind that was flying towards Cade split in two; now Samantha had two jolts of winds coming towards her, and all she managed to do was avoid just one, while the other hit her and started making her hair fly all over the place. Cade seemed to be sharing the same destiny, because he also got hit by the wind Jinx, his movements slower than usual.

While trying to dodge, Samantha and Cade had cast their spells as well; Samantha had cast Mimbewimble towards Dmitri, and she almost got him, if it weren't for some centimetres; Cade, on the other hand, had cast a successful expelliarmus that hit Opeila right onto her shoulder. The Slytherin girl opted for a less violent way and tried to disarm Cade, but the Expelliarmus missed him only by a small margin.

Samantha had grinned widely when yelling at Dmitri, but a little blush appeared on the brunette's cheeks when the boy called her spell an absolute failure and the smile quickly disappeared. When Opeila apologized for her duelling partner, all Samantha could do was give her an awkward nod as thank you, still embarrassed by Dmitri's words.

She found the chatter of the fifth year really annoying and tried to put an end to it with the tongue-tying spell. This time the spell did leave her wand but sadly it still missed her target and Dmitri could still talk. Samantha was glad Cade's spell did hit its target and her duelling partner was even able to dodge Opeila's spell. Unfortunately, both Eagles were hit with another wind jinx and Samantha was extremely annoyed by her hair every time it hit her face.

Opeila had only finished talking, when a Knockback Jinx hit the young Slytherin's shoulder, sending her stumbling backwards a little. It was probably a good thing that she was used to those by now, they weren't so likely to knock her off her feet entirely anymore. Still, when she saw her own spell also missing its target, frustration began to build up insider the third year.
Alright, alright, everything was fine. She would just take this as her hint to stop letting arrogant upperclassmen distract her.

Another wind jinx went surging towards the Ravenclaws, and Cade's eyes watered as he endured the strong gusts. Thankfully it didn't affect his aim towards Opeila, the knock back only set her stumbling back a few paces. Unfortunately, Samantha's spell missed Dmitri. They needed to do better if they were ever going to come out on top. Cade grimmaced, trying to hear the others over the sound of the whistling winds. He had to come up with a plan, and fast!
