Clair nodded "That is very cool, sounds sort of like here, I wonder which schools came first..." The last part she said softer, making a mental note to get back to that thought on one of her regular trips to the library.

Gardens, were they like Hogwarts' Courtyard? Clair refrained for asking anything more, the girl might be tired and the last thing she would want was another fountain of questions!
"we have dueling teams here, I'm not on one, but if I was not a Racer I think I would, I've done a few non official duels, never won any, but they are still fun!" She commented thinking back to what the girl had said about dueling.

Taking some beans and plopping them on her plate Clair began to eat at them, and thinking about how to reply "Well... I really love the library, the books are so good that they have, some of the rules I could do without, but the classes are amazing too, I would love it if they let us do Care of Magic creatures before our third year, Third hears are so lucky, they get to go to Hogsmeade and they get extra classes, and all that fun stuff, that we can't have yet." She sighed, and then took another bite of food.

Castor considered this idea, flipping through research over the French school and small studying of the English school she had done before arrival, worrying a bit over how interactions would go between students of both schools. Her thoughts popped up fruitless as the other girl continued to speak.

"I've seen only a bit of broom racing. It seems like a... violent sport," she stated lightly. It was like trying to place a pile of bricks down onto concrete without making a sound. From what she had seen, broom racing didn't require much courtesy.

The French girl finished the water slowly, watching the flame of the candles flicker fondly. She couldn't help but feel her eyes grow a bit heavy, the warmth of the Great Hall not attempting to lift them. Taking a long bite of a clean orange carrot, she half-listened to the other.

Castor smiled softly, memories of tall bookshelves and dusty hard-covered books coming to her. However much she loved going to Beauxbatons, she missed the feeling of sitting on afternoon-cooled grass and flipping through the old books while trying to find an image of the strange orange flower she found growing in the bushes beside the fountain. "Well, upper-years are more accustomed to the schools rules and norms. I can imagine why they would be allowed access to more independent areas." Castor stated as though reading from a script, "But yes, I'm sure this school has a nice selection of books."

Clair smiled, did people really think that Broom racing was violent? Ok maybe it was just a little violent, but not too bad, it could be worse.
"Really? I don't find it too violent, I mean in the last race only one person was knocked out, in dueling one team has to knock the other team out, no?" She thought for a moment,
"Broom Racing is sort of a mix of both Quidditch and Dueling, so it can't be worse then the mother games." Maybe she was bias, because she played the sport, maybe she was just toughened up from life on the farm, or maybe just maybe, her brain knew that it was violent and was just not letting her realize that.

Clair took a sip of her water, "Very true, I guess it makes sense, but I still think there could be a way, such as a professor taking a group of first and second years to Hogsmeade, maybe the Library sections could stay closed, for everyone safety."

Taking a bite of her Yorkshire pudding she chewed, and then swallowed before asking yet another question.
"Do you like it here so far? We have tried so very had to be welcoming, and we are ever so glad your here!"

Clair seemed a little confused at Castor's previous statement regarding Broom Racing, confusing Castor further. From what she had seen, it seemed quite physical. But then again, Dueling wasn't much better.

"I suppose you're right." the French girl nodded. Dueling kind of seemed like an immediate for her, especially considering her roots. There weren't really any other options in her family. It was either dueling or weird looks at reunions.

Castor had her own opinions about rules and guidelines, but the idea of actually going against them seem like a poor choice, especially being verbal about it. She would admit to surprise at Clair's outward disagreement with them to Castor, especially considering the two had just met. She wasn' really against it though.

The French girl paused. It's certainly new. I've enjoyed getting to see my old friend, Gemima. But, of course, I wouldn't mind returning home." the word home came out quite fluently, leaving her a bit taken aback by how easily it was spoken. Beauxbatons was home. "This is probably the most English I've had to speak in a while."

Obviously she had to speak English even while outside of school, what with all the banquets and meetings. But even so, she was often times only writing it to Gemima or practicing it with her teacher. Hogwarts was full of English students, leaving Castor with the responsibility of speaking it. Beauxbatons was much easier in that aspect.

A few kids had begun deporting, leaving the Great Hall looking patchy and blank.

Clair smiled "Is there really a right? We all have our own thoughts, I won't judge you for having your own." Clair was a girl who liked to voice her thought, was she a loud mouth? No, Did she have her own thoughts? Yes. Where they always what everyone agreed with? No.

"I can understand that, it's a lot to ask, bringing other students here, taking them away from their home country, even if it is only for a while." It would be so hard to leave your home country, without your family to explore the new country with, even if it was only for a short while, She looked down at her plate, it was almost empty.

Taking the last bite of food Clair stood up, swallowed her food and then said "Well, I think I'd better be off, if you'll excuse me." She nodded to Castor, "Have a good evening and I hope to see you again!"
With that she turned and left the room, once she had left the room she decided to visit the library before going to her dorm, she had to do some research on the school of Beauxbatons, she had questions, lots and lots of questions.
Clair has left this thread.

Clair was... kind. This was strange. Not strange, of course, as kindness was a trait every individual should adopt at one point or another. But still, the French girl was surprised to find herself admiring the way the other girl flowed.

"I think I needed the practice. This conversation has been good." she allowed herself a smile, warm on her face that was already heated by the candles that floated around them mystically. The smile held.

Her plate was just as tidy as her demeanor, a single loose carrot left that she quickly stuffed into her mouth. Wiping the corners of her large lips, she let a small stream of water pass her lips and drift down her throat coolly. Clair stood up from beside the girl.

"Have a good night." Castor said politely, standing in a swift movement. "I should hope to see you in the halls. Or even at the ball." she let Clair head off down the row before strolling off quickly. From this conversation, she had learned much more about the English school and its students. She hoped, maybe a tad selfishly, to meet the other once more, one way or another.
