New Friends

At the offer to look at his notebook, Nyx sat down completely. "I see. What sort of stories do you write? Is it a hobby or do you intend to do writing and art professionally in the future?" Nyx was, by nature, a very curious person. They had a million and one questions about everything and were clearly not afraid to ask. "What is it that you are currently working on? Do you usually draw and write outdoors or is this a rare thing?"
As they spoke, Nyx's eyes seemed to turn even more of a warm, yellowish brown. They pushed their hair out of their face where it had fallen. The outdoor wind was rather inconvenient, their hair was just long enough to keep blowing in their face. How bothersome. They pushed it back again and this time their hair seemed to shorten. Not enough for the overall style to change but enough that it wouldn't bother them so much with the breeze. Much better.
When Pax left to invite over someone else, Nyx nodded vaguely in acknowledgment and glanced over to where she was going. Another Gryffindor it seemed. Perhaps a friend of theirs? Either way, Nyx would soon find out whenever they returned.
They turned back to James and looked to see what was inside his notebook for themself. They didn't seem to have any qualms about how it might be rude to just lean over into someone they just mets personal space. Doing so was a pretty usual thing for them. So long as he didn't object to it, Nyx would be looking over James shoulder to more closely observe his notebook.

New Friends
With a shrug of their shoulders Pax stated that they had neither the patience nor the concentration to do drawings like James did. They complimented his drawing once more before their smile became smaller. They told him that no one should ever have to be lonely and that the both of them would find him some friends.
Pax agreed to seeing some of James' artwork. He quickly grabbed his notebook flipping through pages and tore out a few and laid them out on the grass. A Ravenclaw sat down near them and Pax nudged James to respond first after the Ravenclaw had introduced herself and the Pax introduced themself.
James was still laying out artwork along the grass. Some had sketchings of the lake, some of trees, others of students playing and wrestling each other playfully. James had managed to catch every detail. The moving waves of the lake. The leaves and texture of the bark on the trees, and even the face expressions of the other students.
Pax stated they would be right back and went over to another student who was wearing Gryffindor robes. James recognised her realising her had tutored her in some of her classes. Nyx asked James what kind of stories he wrote. "I write a variety. Some comedy, some romance, some horror. A little bit of everything. It's a nice hobby to have and I do hope to be able to do it professionally in the future. James had always wanted to be a professional writer or artist but just never had the confidence.
James looked back up to Nyx as they moved their hair out of their face. Had their eyes changed colors? James wondered but just thought that he just didn't pay attention to their eye color at first. James looked back over to Pax who seemed to be having a friendly conversation with the other Gryffindor. He tried to remember her name but couldn't quite think of it. Oh well. He'll find out soon enough if Pax managed to get the girl to come over. Such a shame that James couldn't remember the name of someone who had tutored plenty of times.Word count: 364

New Friends
Seeing the girl's gawping mouth, Pax quickly continued, hoping to make the girl feel more at ease without laughing at her humorous expression. "Oh, please don't be scared! If you'd rather sit here by yourself then you're more than fine to continue so."
When the girl agreed to come over, but seemed to hesitate, Pax smiled comfortingly, deciding to sit down next to them. "I'd like to think that I'm not so scary. Loud, yes definitely, but scary, hopefully not."
"I’ll do it! I-I mean, sure. I…yeah. That s-sounds great." The girl replied. Pax grinned in response. "Great!"
"It's great to meet you too, Gwen. I'm sure I've seen you around before, right? Do you just keep yourself to yourself a lot, or are my observation skills just failing me? I mean, you are in my house, I'm sure that I must've seen you around, at least in the common room. I feel bad for not approaching you."
Pax got up, still smiling. "I'm going to head back to the others now, are you coming?"
Whether or not Gwen followed, they got up, brushed themself off, and then climbed back up to James and Nyx, who were still lightly conversing by the tree. "Hey, I'm back! And I met a friend and fellow lion, Gwen Eclipse!"

New Friends
Sarah Aldrin || April 15th, Afternoon
It was a nice and cloudless day, like the one from a movie screen. Therefore, Sarah decided to take a stroll outside. After she walked towards the Hogwarts' Quidditch pitch, she decided to relax near the Great Lake for a bit. As she was approaching the lake, she saw two girls walking up to two students standing under the tree. She saw they were observing a notebook with pictures in it. Or was it maybe a photo album? Oh, no, that's definitely a sketchbook! The boy has art supplies with him. Sarah wanted to see it so she decided to approach them. She wasn't so sure how... Should I just say I'm wondering what's in that notebook or would that make me nosy? Or should I tell them that I'm looking for company? Ugh, starting the conversation is always the hardest thing... Sarah thought to herself.
Finally, she decided to approach them with "Hey guys, I saw you were observing that sketchbook, I guess." After a bit of mental rehearsing, she finally got the courage to speak.
Here she goes.
"Hey guys, I saw you were observing and drawing in that sketchbook. Can I see it? I myself like to journal and do collages." She said with a gentle smile on her face as she greeted all of them.
The group under the tree was a bit disrupted when Sarah greeted them, but one of the boys replied
"Sure, come and join us. And you are...?" with a smile on his face.
She was so concentrated on the approaching that she forgot to introduce herself. "Oh yeah, I'm sorry, I'm Sarah Aldrin."
Sarah hoped she would get a few friends and some good times from this.

New Friends
Gwen blushed when Pax had introduced her as a “fellow lion.” She either felt extremely uncomfortable or the complete opposite. She definitely liked that she had called her a “friend,” though. Gwen didn’t have many of those. She smiled fondly at Pax for asking her to join them. Gwen loathed going up to people on her own. She preferred to let people come to her. How had she ever gotten into Gryffindor? Gwen shrugged and immediately regretted it when she realized that they could be looking at her. She saw that they weren’t, though, and didn’t care anymore. A Slytherin had come over. She had said that her name was Sarah Aldrin. What a pretty name, thought Gwen. She saw that everyone was examining James’s sketchbook. She peeked at it as well. “Wow.” She whispered under her breath. James was definitely an artist. She often wished she ha so some artistic talent, but the only thing she seemed to be hood at was getting lost. Though, she enjoyed reading and writing. For a moment, Gwen wondered why she was so terrified of people. Everyone she had met was extremely kind. She wanted to tell Pax that she liked loud friends more than quiet friend because when she talked to those, there were always awkward silences that left Gwen to be tempted to run. But she couldn’t muster the courage. Maybe she didn’t belong in Gryffindor, but she hoped with all her might that she belonged at Hogwarts.
