I had just gotten on the hogwarts express. I was looking around for an empty compartment to spend the ride in. It took a long time but I found one in the middle of the train. I slipped in, and placed my trunk with my hogwarts items on the rack. The compartment was decently big, I assume it can fit around six people. This ride will be my first ride on the Hogwarts Express, But definitely not my last! I was about to start my first year at hogwarts! I think I know alot about hogwarts because my parents both went there. Thinking of hogwarts I started to wonder what house I was going to get. Hufflepuff like my dad? Or gryffindor like my mom? I suppose i'm smart enough to get ravenclaw. I did not think I would get slytherin, I was to nice! As I sat in the compartment I realized I was still in my muggle clothing. I did not mind this but the robes where much more comfortable, I slipped in to my new hogwarts robes. They were the perfect size. I wonder who my first friend would be. When a student came into the compartment I was in. Based on height I think they where starting there first year like me.

I just hopped on the Hogwarts express, it was my first time even seeing this place. I was super nervous. I didn't really know anyone here yet, so I was looking for an empty compartment. I spent a while looking for one but the closest one to empty had a girl in it. She looked really nice, she had brown hair and what looked like hazel eyes and she looked about the same height as I was. I was guessing she was just starting this year like I was. I decided to go change into my school robes first to see if maybe one of the compartments would clear out soon and someone would go sit with a friend or something but sadly no one did. On the plus side, the robes were super comfy. I'm glad that I decided to put them on first. After a bit of waiting, I finally found the courage to walk back to the compartment that the one girl was in, while I was walking over back to the compartment, I was thinking about what house I would get. I finally reached the compartment and opened the door. At that point I realized that she noticed I was there, so I walked in and asked if I could sit with her.

The kid I saw in the door walked away. But after a wile he came back, Taking a closer look at him I saw that he had light brown hair, and grey eyes. He had changed into his robes like me. When he asked to sit with me I stood up and held my hand for him to shake. "Yes, of course you can sit with me!" I said with a bit to much excitement. Maybe this boy would be my first friend at hogwarts.
"Do you think that the robes are more comfortable then the muggle clothing as well?" I asked him "Don't you have a trunk?" I asked the boy. Assuming that he took my hand I sat back in the seat I was sitting in.
"what house do you want to get in?" I asked him. "Sorry about asking you all of these questions" I told him, I realized I was rambling. "My names Quinn! and I'm starting my first year at hogwarts!" I told him. I don't know why I was talking so much, I usually never talk this much. I had a felling that this boy was extremely nice! I stared at him waiting for his response to my meany questions.

After asking if I could sit with her, she quickly stood up and held out her hand for me to shake, I realized that I was staring at her hand for a second and quickly shook it before she thought I was being weird. She seemed really excited that I asked to sit with her, maybe I can make a new friend! She started asking me a few questions.
She asked me if I thought my robes were more comfortable than my muggle clothes.
"Yeah, I do, they're way more comfortable than muggle clothing, it's honestly surprising." I answered
She then asked another question which was if I had a trunk.
"Yeah, I do, it's currently behind me. I should probably put it up, shouldn't I?” After saying that I placed my trunk on the rack and then sat down opposite of her.
She decided to then ask what house I wanted to be in.
“I'm not really sure to be honest, I’m kind of hoping for hufflepuff or ravenclaw though, what about you?” I asked. She asked what felt like so many questions, but I still haven't gotten to know her name.
She then apologized for rambling and finally started to introduce herself. I found out her name was Quinn, and this was her first year at Hogwarts!
I decided to introduce myself,
“Hi Quinn, it’s nice to meet you! My name is Silas, and this is also my first year at Hogwarts!”

He took my hand. "Yes! someone agrees with me! The robes a much softer then the muggle clothing I wore here!" I told him.
He answered my question about his trunk, After answering my question he placed his trunk on the rack and sat on the outer side of me. He said he hoped for Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. "Omg! Me too! My dad's hufflepuff!" I told him "I'm hoping for Gryffindor or Hufflepuff!" I answered his Question "But ill be happy with anything!"
He told me how his name was Silas, and how this was his first year as well! "that's amazing! We might have classes together!" I told Silas. "What class are you excited for most?" I asked him "I'm excited for charms and defence agents the dark arts!" I told Silas. "I want to cast all the charms! My dad told me about a spell called the patronus charm! Its used to get rid of dementors! did you know that!" I asked I was very excited to cast charms, any one could tell that by looking at me. "I so want to cast it.." I told him. "My dad says that the spell is very advanced, He told me that Harry Potter could cast it in his third year!" I told him. "Oh- sorry I was rambling again..," I apologized to Silas.

After asking my question Quinn answered that she hoped to be in either hufflepuff or gryffindor, she then said how her dad was a hufflepuff. I think it's cool how she doesn't really care which one she gets, from what I've heard a lot of people have a certain one that they want to get. She then went on and said that we may have classes together
“That would be amazing if we do!” I said.

"Yes it would be great, We would both at least know one person! And hey one is much better then none! Right?" She said to silas. He told me how he was excited for defence against the dark arts and herbology. "I don't think ill will be the best at herbology.." Quinn told him. She then sat straight up and asked "Ok what class are you least excited for?" she looked at him waiting for his answer, 'It wont make me think any differently of him. We just have a whole train ride together, So might as well get to know one another' She thought
"It is super cool!" She told silas. She was happy that he was interested in some of the same things as her. "My parents cast the charm for me when I was little! They can be animals, My dads was a snow owl and my mom's was a grizzly bear!" Quinn told silas, He most likely didn't care. But Quinn felt nice telling someone about her. "I wonder what mine might be.. Oh! Maybe a Chameleon!, That would be cool.." She looked somewhere into space. Thinking. When she snapped out of the short daze she asked silas "What would you want yours to be?" Quinn thought that his might be a rabbit or a dear, Possibly a dog.

Silas was listening to Quinn talk as she talked. She asked him a question, she asked what class he was least excited for. Silas had to think about his answer, he was pretty excited for all of them.
“I think the class I'm least excited for is uh potions, but at the same time i'm excited for mostly all of them. I think the reason I'm least excited for that class is because it seems like it's going to be hard and I'm slightly afraid of messing up in front of everyone. Anyways, what class are you least excited for?” Silas said
She then talked about how her parents were different things, Silas thought that was really cool. He hasn't met many people who have families who can do that, he thought it was really interesting to hear about it. Quinn went on to talk about what she thinks she might be, she said how she might be a bear or a chameleon.

Silas told Quinn how he was not excited for potions, And the fear of messing up in front of people. He asked what the class Quinn was least excited for. "Ah yes, The fear of embarrassment! I'm terrified to do flying lessons! I don't want to fall in front of people, Or just fall" Quinn let out a laugh that had some nervousness in it.
Quinn lisiond as Silas told her what he thought his would be "I do think a dear would suit you! I think dears are beautiful animals." She told Silas, Quinn rely liked him. Not in that way. But she knew that she was going to be good friends with him.
Quinn did not know Silas for long but she had a feeling she could trust him. She scrunched her eyebrows together. "Hey Silas...?" She paused "Can you do something that, how do I word this...? Can you do something that others cant do?" She asked and quickly moved her head and looked to the floor.
'Why did you ask? Hes going to think your odd..' She thought. "You can ignore what I just asked.. I don't know why I said it... So you can ignore it, Or don't!" She said. 'Grate.. That's going to help him think your not weird!' She thought.
