A Feat of Friends and Feasts
September 1st 2021
Hearing the taller male express his confidence in Judas, caused a sort of warmth fill his chest. He still wasn't entirely convinced he would be able to do anything, seeing as how most of what his 'Accidental Magic' entailed, he couldn't see. He'd only been told about the strange things that happened around him. He supposed if he was able to change the appearance of something without even knowing it, doing so on purpose could be interesting. He still felt nerves, but the softer tone the other male used to encourage him helped soothe his fears a bit. "I don't think I'll be any better at it, but a suppose you're right about adjusting to change. Moving to England was a huge change and I survived that. I'm sure I'll adjust to this all of this too."
He'd noticed the way his friend had trouble sitting still and wondered if there was any way he could help the other boy when it came to schoolwork. It might be good to have someone he could study with. If anything it would benefit them both to help each other out. Even if they were in different houses. There wasn't anything wrong with helping the other out right? Even if he was in another house. Surely nobody took the inter house competitiveness that seriously right? He tried to shake his doubts not wanting the Welsh boy to catch onto his still worried expression. Maybe he could put on a brave face.
At the mention of how they'd sneakily come together again in the great hall, Judas felt a small flush warm his cheeks. He too had never really broken any rules. He'd been to fearful of his father's scolding or his mother's constant worry to do much rule breaking. "I've never done anything like this either. My mother would be appalled I'd tried to break the rules already. My father... well, he doesn't even know about this place so I suppose he could care less. Still, it's kind of... exciting." He giggled at the thought of being up to no good. "I suppose you make me feel bold."
Enjoying the food, Judas took a few minutes to eat some stew. He was very careful to eat neatly as he didn't want anyone to think he had bad manners. He'd been taught for a long time that the very least he could do to make himself look presentable was have good manners. As bold as he felt around the other boy, he still didn't want to come off as some rule-breaking heathen. Listening to Galahad explain his feelings about the boat ride, Judas decided it wouldn't be wise to mention the Giant Squid his book had said was in the lake. For now, he only wanted to reassure his friend. "I understand that fear, though, I don't imagine they would have let us come across the water like that if we were in any danger." He hoped.
Nodding to the idea of reading up on what to expect in each class, Judas found himself thinking of much the same thing. He too wanted to be prepared. As he looked around at the other tables he recalled his interaction with the Slytherin girl. He supposed she was only annoyed with him because he had nearly stepped on her pet. It was difficult to tell if any singular house would be more intimidating than the next. Shrugging he took another bite of his food as he considered the question more thoroughly. Once he'd swallowed, he wiped his mouth with a napkin and looked to the othe boy, "I don't know. I'm sure we will find out. The book I read only spoke about the founders and ideals of the houses." He said curiously. "Maybe we'll find out once the school year is in full swing. We should report our finding to each other."

"You moved? If you don't mind, from where? Moving is quite hard, it's a tad hard to adjust to it." He thought about his own travels to Dover, England. The auburn-haired male was quite young when it had happened, so he couldn't quite remember Wales aside from the cuisine that his parents made. Was it such a thing to say that he couldn't find himself missing it? He barely remembered life there, after all, surely it was a normal thing. Yet he wondered how the other had felt about moving, did he miss his old home dearly? Was it the same feeling he felt when they stepped into Hogwarts, where this school would be their home for a few months?
Galahad raised his brows as he saw a flash of worry come across the raven-haired male's face, despite his lack of attention he could still recognize small things. Deciding he should question the other in just a minute. He gently nudged him with his shoulder in a sort of playful way, shifting his body a tad, turning to the male slightly to try and give the other his utmost attention. Galahad could try to push himself to sit still if it meant having to listen to the other's worries or just anything in general enjoying the talks they had been having, ever since they had gotten onto the train. Not wanting to set him off with how antsy he was, a sense of worry washed over him as he didn't know if it irritated the male or not. Yet it didn't seem to, at least not too much from what he could tell. Still, he wanted to be respectful when popping such a serious question.
Galahad let out a small laugh, wrapping an arm around the male's shoulder. Pulling him close, he grinned widely at the thought of somehow getting Judas to pull off something so rule-breaking, as a surprise all on its own. "Hey! Just don't do anything like this again, unless we're allowed. I appreciate your efforts in going off to find me, especially if you didn't feel comfortable eating with people you didn't know. But I don't what you to get in trouble just for my sake, alright? From now on if we need to find each other.." He thought about ways they could find each other, wanting to make sure he didn't get the other in trouble. "Maybe I can crochet us a sort of bracelet, one of bright colors that represent our houses. That way we can find each other easily, and approach each other when we're able to.
Galahad let out a relieved sigh, once the other had tried to reassure him that there was nothing to worry about. He did have a point, after all, the school wouldn't intend to put them into any harm as far as he could tell. "You have a point I suppose, I just hope I can adjust to it if we have to do it every year." He gazed over at the Hufflepuff tapestry, eyeing the Honey badgered that looked untamed and vicious. Wondering how such an animal could represent his friend, however glancing over at the other tapestries he took note that all of them looked rather fearsome in their own sense.
He couldn't help but find it to be rather interesting, wondering if it was supposed to give the students a sense of competitiveness. If that were the case, the auburn-haired male wondered why anyone would want to compete against each other.
" Noted, I'll try to update you on any other House I come across. Let's just hope the poor soul has the patience to deal with someone like me, I know I'm not the easiest Gryffindor to come across." He chuckled as he wondered if he'd even get acquainted with another person, whether they be from his own house or not. Time would only tell, but for now, he decided he would finally ask the question he had been waiting on. "I have to ask, however, a minute ago you looked.. troubled? What's on your mind if you don't mind me asking? I'm more than happy to listen."

A Feat of Friends and Feasts
September 1st 2021
Judas considered the difficulty he had faced in moving from the U.S. to the U.K.. He supposed it wasn't as huge a change as finding out he was a wizard, but there was a learning curve. Luckily his mother was British and he'd visited her side of the family enough to understand the differences in culture. He smiled almost sadly as he remembered the long blazingly hot summers he'd grown to love. Shrewsbury of course still had summers, but it was different. "I'm from the states originally. South-East Texas specifically. It's definitely different, but my mother's side was from Bristol so it wasn't like everything was new. I actually..." He began, thinking about how much of his life he wanted to share. Glancing to the others at the table, ensuring nobody was paying them any mind, he then took a breath and looked to Galahad nervously. "My first accidental magic was in Bristol actually. When I was visiting for the holidays. Somehow I guess I feel more at peace with magic here than when I was back home. Or rather, back in the states. Mother and I moved here permanently just last year so I guess it's home. It's not really so difficult though. I don't get out much."
He hoped he hadn't shared too much, but Judas was confident that the other male wouldn't have asked if he wasn't interested to know more. He felt like he could share things with the other and not be judged. It wasn't a feeling he was familiar with. Trusting in a person to not tease or pick apart his words.
Feeling the taller boy pull him into a side hug, he instinctively leaned his head closer for a moment. Realizing how comfortable he was in the other's presence, he blushed heavily. Somehow this other boy always made him feel so safe. Even with his light laughter and teasing about breaking the rules. Judas had never had any real reason to break the rules before. Now, he wondered if when it came to the other, he wouldn't be willing to break more just for the chance to be near him. He shook the thought from his head however and nodded in response. He wouldn't break any more rules if Galahad thought it was a bad idea. After all, he didn't want to lose the opportunity to become something more than what his boring life at home entailed.
When the other male mentioned making them something to wear, he began to smile. However, at the thought that it would be color coded, he sat up straight. He grew stiff immediately thinking about the difficulty he would face in seeing the so called 'bright colors' of the houses. He very much wanted to wear something made by the other boy, but he wasn't sure how to explain his dilemma to his new friend. He considered a different approach, "What if we make it stand out in another way? Maybe with our initials instead? Or a symbol? Can you do letters?"
Judas hoped he wasn't asking too much of the other male. Even if Galahad couldn't do it, he would accept any bracelet from him regardless. He was happy to have comforted him in some way as well. "I think you're a fantastic Gryffindor, though to be honest, you're the only one I've met."
Having just picked up a piece of bread, he had been right about to stuff a piece in his mouth when he'd been asked about his earlier concerns. He wondered when exactly it was the other boy had noticed something off about him. To Judas, the nerves were always there. He supposed he was just better at hiding them in some instances. Setting down his bread roll to look up at the other male shyly, he began to bite at his nails as he considered his words carefully. "To be honest, I've been a little on edge all evening. There are just so many things to consider with all the.... well, Everything." He finished looking down. He wondered what particular instance of his nerves showed so much in a way that made Galahad curious of him.

Galahad's brows raised in excitement surprised that the other had come from a different country, let alone the United States. Having heard many tales of the country, wondering what was true and what was false. However, he couldn't find the words to ask what he wanted to ask, deciding it would be best to listen to the other in case he felt comfortable going in-depth about his previous home. Finally, he decided to speak up once the other was finished, expressing his interest as he sat up. Grinning from ear to ear."You come from Texas? Is it hot over there? I heard It's hard to tolerate such heavy weather, you must have a skin of steel!"He exclaimed, practically bouncing in his seat, glad that the other was willing to tell him such information, even if they only knew each other for a day at best. The more he learned about Judas however, he couldn't help but be even more impressed than before. He paused for a second, smiling as he nodded."At least you are finding the move somewhat easy? I know it gets terrible when it's cold around here, do try to stay bundled up. I wouldn't want you getting sick." He advised, showing concern for the Hufflepuff.
Galahad was visibly happy to learn about this information, not caring if the other had given him too much. If anything it only helped the auburn-haired male learn a tad more, it showed that they had at least some sort of trust between them and Galahad couldn't help but feel overjoyed by the thought.
Galahad gave him a squeeze as he stayed like that for a few minutes, a wide smile plastered on his face as his eyes had softened a tad. It felt right to simply hug the male, even if he had no reason to do so. Feeling the other lean in for a second, made Galahad's heart race. Caught by surprise for a second, but choose not to comment on it. Trying to look out for the both of them, as he wanted to keep their records clean so they could be able to attend such a school. Hogwarts on it's just felt like a simple privilege, afraid that it could be easily lost within a matter of seconds if they had chosen to misbehave.
Galahad raised his brows at the other's stiff form, smiling as he began to think of any designs they could have for the bracelets or even symbols! The thought excited him just like his discovery of the other's past country, nodding as he warmed up to the idea. "Oooh! A symbol would be really cool, kind of like our personal friendship symbol in some sort of way? I can definitely do that, for now, I'll settle on our initials, alright? That way I can work on a bracelet as soon as possible."
Galahad felt his face heat up at the small compliment, rubbing the back of his neck as he let out a quiet laugh."Well, I think you're a wonderful Hufflepuff. By far the best one I've met so far. I look forward to meeting more Hufflepuffs, that most likely cannot compare to Judas Kaine."
Galahad nodded in agreement, understanding how one could feel so on edge about this whole thing. Unsure if he should further pry, or leave it as is. Not wanting to upset the male, especially since they were on good terms. "I don't blame you, I don't think my nerves could've handled being alone on that train. If not with a bunch of strangers, who probably would mind my company for what it's worth."
