The air was crisp, yet the sun was visible as it lurked between the the thin clouds that wove across the blue sky. Alan Vanes was looking for something to do, anything would work really. So might as well be a little or a big game of catch. There were a couple of students lurking, so why not make their afternoon just a little bit more fun? Including his own of course. After all a little bit of exercise had never hurt anyone or so he dared to think. The prefect would cup his hands around his mouth to work as some sort of amplifier and called out to anyone and no one at the very same time, "Anyone fancy a game of Freeze Tag?". The sounded increase in volume would have probably startled Tiger who was laying in the front pouch of his hoodie, if the feline had not already been used to the antics of his parent. Alan could be very random in behavior and had sudden crazy ideas, such as rallying a couple of willing students to play a short round of tag, which would allow for a fantastic opportunity to meet new faces and mingle with the students!
Hello, this is a moderated instance open to everyone!
There is no limit to house, year or amount of students who can join this activity. You can join until the 1st of May, after that the game is closed to new participants.

The Rules are simply. If you are "it" you try to catch as many people as you can and freeze them. If you are not "it", you try to not get caught and unfreeze those who have been caught. The goal for the catchers is to freeze all players, the other part of the game will win if that goal has not been reached after 5 rounds. The people who are "it" are randomly assigned once I know how many students wish to join! Once the game starts the available actions will be: Double-Tag, Freeze, Unfreeze, Evade.

"Anyone fancy a game of Freeze Tag?" Alan said.
Okay, so tag. This was a muggle activity Logan could relate. Tag was the universal bonding device for children all over the world. I touch you, you touch m---let's word this differently. Logan was fast, Logan was savvy, Logan was confident, first year or no year, he would be the one walking away with the frozen glory. He just knew it, and today was the day to start spreading his name around this campus. Who says first years can't shine, you shine as bright as your attitude.

The trademark cornrows intact and a headband swiftly retrieved from his pocket after he heard Alan's offer from twenty meters away. In the midst of some casual futbol training, Logan decided to insert himself into Alan's tag game before too many elder years joined to shy him away. Angling his frame towards Alan, Logan kicked the soccer ball with his inside foot towards his feet, executing a classic futbol pass.

Just as he pictured, the ball rolled to his target in Alan Vanes.[I don't know if it just hits Alan, or if he kicks it back, but will assume is just hits his feet for now. Can edit if needed.] "You're it, Vanes!" Logan smiled with lifted eyebrows in his approach towards Alan. "You know I kid, I'll play! You have some length on me, but I bet I'm faster." He smirked, attempting to nudge Alan's shoulder. "Who else is trying to lose today!" Taking Alan's side, Logan shouted out cheerfully to random students passing by, hoping to accelerate the process and begin the game.
Does Logan's pass hit Alan's feet? (DC=10)

Colin was poking around in an old overgrown pile of worn cobblestones near the wall. His nostrils flared. He knew the bloody little bastard was in here somewhere. He'd smelled it before, and it had gotten away. Not this time! he thought. He heard a faint sound from between the stones. Deft hand and nimble fingers shot into the gap and closed around the lost treasure! "Gotcha!" Colin cried.

"Anyone fancy a game of Freeze Tag?" The voice was horribly loud and Colin snarled. He shook his head to clear the ringing in his ears. Freeze Tag? What's that? he thought? Forgetting all about his momentary annoyance, he turned to see some boy his age responding to the call.

Oh, a game! he thought. Tag? That's fun! He got up and trotted over to where some older boy had just issued the call. The younger boy had been playing footie, which looked like fun, too! He was a Hufflepuff. Excellent! thought Colin. The boy kicked the ball over towards the older boy with a cry of "You're it, Vanes!" Must be the older boy's name. No matter. The Badger was boasting. Wrong move, friend!

"I'll play! You have some length on me, but I bet I'm faster," the Hufflepuff was saying. Colin stalked up behind the boy. He was taller. And cocky. Careful, lad, give it a bit of distance, that's it, lad, he said to himself. He was right behind the Hufflepuff's left flank. A smile crept across Colin's face and he reached out the finger of his right hand!

Colin poked the other boy on the right side of his neck!

He ducked quickly to the left with a yell of "YOU'RE IT BADGER!" He dodged away with a merry laugh. "It won't be me losing to you today!"

He turned to the older boy. Vanes? "Yeah! I'm in!"

Measurement, in all other areas and aspects of subsistence, had scientific substance absent in other comparisons of one thing to another, and was therefore something the Slytherin sitting underneath a winding, dark tree used much throughout the pessimistic vacuum of time and space he continued to exist in. It was controlling, quite simply, all that could not be controlled and asserting one’s intellectual superiority over everything and anything unfortunate enough to exist at the same time as overly curious humans. On a fine April day thankfully not that of a fool’s, Leonard Wendell Oaksworth did not wish to summon his assumed namesake’s ghost to discuss the accuracy and abysmal handwriting of the Vitruvian man, however. He merely wished to have the rest of the day to himself in total, utter peace.

Unfortunately, Hogwarts was not an institution privy to only him. It was hypocrisy at its finest, really: when they set up glamours that made the area look like it was in ruins, it was revolutionary and keeping students safe from those mad muggles; when he did it to himself, he was antisocial and immature and almost certainly going to make something in here explode. It was with a heavy sigh he realised at breakfast that truly nothing was sacred when eleven-year-olds that acted like they were one and seventeen-year-olds that acted like they were seventy and eldritch beings masquerading as either were confined within the castle. As winter’s frost melted away, this confining had relaxed its white-knuckle grip upon stir-crazy students and allowed for going outside. Hence, Leonard once again being able to participate in one of his favourite springtime events: read something he’d read five hundred seventy-one times and make sure the squid wasn’t eating anybody. He half-heard a voice, one he could somewhat remember from a disastrous meeting near the region, asking if anyone fancied a game of freeze tag. He scoffed. Nobody fancied a disturbance, much less one that required one to get up and actually do something. His last measurement of athletic ability came back when he was eight and attended football camp for the summer, and he’d been dishonorably discharged from that duty after doing math homework as a goalie.

And then someone just had to be an obnoxious little prat. Just after his own heart, how wonderful.

Pardon, trying to lose?” He glared at the dark-skinned boy from some length away, making sure the narrowing of his eyes was visible nonetheless. Hiking up to the grassy area with a few folks huddled about, he made sure to spare an extra scowl towards the boy with the headband. He could appreciate good hair care, he would not appreciate boasting from anyone other than him, who absolutely deserved it.

What’s going on here, Vanes? A game?” To any other thirteen-year-old, the prospect of play in a place with a centuries-long addiction to malediction would be irresistible, and in their words would be a lilt of excitement and ebullience unable to be quashed. To the Slytherin visibly recovering from the incredibly short excursion towards Alan, it was nothing but irresponsible, and in his mouth did the final syllable be said with incredulousness, swallowed with a bitter pill. Yet, it was irresistible all the same, and Leonard found himself further approaching the Gryffindor to clarify the rules of such activity. For science, of course. “Now, if I did hear your proposition of freeze tag correctly, I must ask if there are any…magical conditions adjoined to this particular match. Will we actually be freezing people or is that something you, as a trusted and beloved prefect, would give detention for?

Oh, hello, Colin.” He post-appropriately greeted his fellow snake with a wave as stilted as the one given when they first met. Being consistent had classical consistency, after all. “I see you’re rather enthusiastic about this.

Logan was enjoying the nice weather outside for once, sitting out on the Hogwarts grounds with Sherlock curled up alongside her. Other students were out enjoying the weather it seemed as the Hufflepuff could see a few other students wandering around outside the school. Slowly running her hand down the cat's back, she glanced up as she heard a voice yell out if anyone wanted to play freeze tag. To be honest, the girl was not that sure on what freeze tag was, but was willing to try it anyway. Why not enjoy the nice weather by playing a game. "Come on Sherlock," she called softly as she stood up and dusted herself off.

The cat only shook his head and followed his owner as she made her way towards a small group of students that had already formed to play the game. The sound of the bell on her Egyptian Mau's collar could be heard jingling as he followed close behind his owner. Logan would occasionally look back to make sure the cat was there, but he had learned over time to stick close to his owner although he would still wander off occasionally. The Hufflepuff did not really recognize any of the other students who had gathered, but it was about time the girl met some more students anyway.

The day seemed not to hold much. Peaceful. Henry figured it would be a good moment to find a spot on the grounds and read one of the books he has been meaning to read.

Walking along the grounds, Loki by his side. Eyes scanning for a spot to sit and read when his ears cuaght the voice of dueling captain and prefect; Alan Vanes announcing a certain game. The teen glanced around, he wasn't planning much that day before. A small whistle to his orange feline to instruct him to follow and the pair would wand over to the forming group.

Loki wandered off from his onwer, rubbing aginest the legs of the gryffindor prefect and tackling Sherlock. Henry didn't mind, knowing his feline would come bsck eventually as he smiled softly at the dark skinned lad. The lad seemed of one emitting with energy and positively, wishing one day to be as cere free as him.

"Careful there or Alan may retaliate with a tag of his own," Henry spoke to the unfamiliar lad with a soft smile before his eyes caught the familiar faces. A nod toward Colin, a fellow wolf and apart of the pack at the school. Catching his high energy and eagerness to play, the teen smiled towsrd him as he spoke"Hello, Colin," a small nod as he eyed the young lad and continued"Brilliant luck for the game, with your energy I think you'll win." The teen then avoided the gaze of his dorm mate although he did preferred him over a few others. In Henry's opinion, Leonard wasn't as bad as the likes of Wyatt Starkey since Leonard contains a sharp mind.

The teen smiled toward Logan, there wasn't much words needed to greet his best friend as he fell besides her and playfully whispered"ready to lose, robin?" A smile toward the girl followed by playfully ruffling her hair. He might be a fourteen year old lad who his mind told him that he is too young for childish games such as this but that wouldn't stop him from joining in with friends.

Leonard wasn't his favorite person but he was at least knowledgeable, the lad's words filling the ares and Henry reductly agreeing as he spoke"I'm wondering the same as Leonard, is there a few magical elements in this game today or are we sticking with the muggle version with the abundance of prefects here," Henry nodded toward Alan before playfully nudging Logan's shoulder with his own. Since the day his best ftiend became a prefect, the lad took it upon himself to mess with her about it.

His eyes back roward Alan as he spoke"I'll join the game to, I guess," the teen knew he couldn't avoid his fellow snake for long as he looked over at Leonard and spoke"I didn't know you left the dungeons, Leonard." A curt nod with his usual soft smile, other emotions hidden behind his mask. He already allowed them to slip, to reveal and take control of him when in front of Wyatt. The teen couldn't allow two dorm mates to unsettle him, especially not Leonard.

"Shall the quickest win, right Leonard?" The teen offered the words to his fellow dorm mate, referring to the quicket of their mind rather than their speed. The teen isn't one for athletic activities but instead those that require intellect. Knowing Leonard Oaksworth was the same when it comes to academics, perhaps the one thing he likes of the fellow third is the way they can rival each other in academics.

Shiawase was wheeling to the grounds, enjoying the fresh air. It seemed to be absolutely the most perfect timing for a little wheel around outside, as she heard someone call out, "Anyone fancy a game of freeze tag?"

She couldn't help but smile. Freeze tag reminded her of when she was younger. It reminded her of home. So what could she possibly say, except for, "I'm in!"

She may not have been able to jerk, jump, or slide out of the way like her peers, but she was fast on her wheels. She'd been practicing being fast on wheels her whole life, after all, and was quite good at it! She was strong! And she would dominate this game, "it" or not! All she had to do, was be able to anticipate. If she wasn't "it," then if the "it" snuck up behind her, it was all over. But Shiawase was quite observant, or so she liked to think. All she had to do was make sure she didn't have her back to anyone! She scanned the crowd for familiar faces. And she saw one.

"Colin! You're here, too? That's great! Looks like we're joining the fun, together!"

She smiled widely. "Looks like I got here just in time! I can't wait to play with all of you!"

Easter Break had been officially over for a few days, but Sophia was having trouble getting used to being back at school again, despite the break only last two weeks. She'd slept in almost every morning, and stayed up late playing with her new owl friend, Amelia. Now, though, she was expected to be awake before nine in the morning, and she was expected to be asleep fairly early as well!

Despite it being a normal Tuesday, it was a very, very nice day outside, so many students seemed to be enjoying the bright sunny weather and pleasant breeze. Sophia was one of them, walking alongside her two best friends in the whole world: Sage and Kim. They weren't going anywhere in particular, just getting out of the cooped up castle for a bit. (Sage had been willing enough to join, but Kim had taken a bit of... convincing.)

Sophia actually still felt quite awkward around the boy, despite the Ball being over for weeks at this point. She knew, logically, that she shouldn't feel awkward since he did nothing wrong, but part of her could still remember him holding her tightly and flirting with her. The only thing that helped her to overcome her residual embarrassment was remembering the prank that was in the works. Oh, they were gonna get him good!

She was happy to silently accompany her friends as they carried on conversation. They were better at conversation than her, anyway.

Suddenly, however, something changed. In an instant, Sophia was no longer a witch, no longer a student of the arcane. No, all of a sudden, she was just a normal child again. For, in the distance, she heard the call to action that no child could ignore:

"Anyone fancy a game of Freeze Tag?"

It was loud, it was charismatic, and, by goodness, it was happening. This was a game she could play! There was no flying, no overly complicated spells, and no stress. Just a bunch of kids chasing each other around and tagging one another. This, well, this was her element!

She didn't even give her friends a chance to finish their conversation, or to protest, as she grabbed each of them by the hand and ran! She ignored their arguments as they approached the organizer of this glorious event. She was out of breath by the time they reached the boy, but she smiled and huffed, "We're gonna play! All three of us!"

She shot an encouraging look to her friends.

"This is gonna be great, guys!"

For once, Kim didn't have class.

It was a Tuesday with crisp air and the sun hiding behind some thin clouds up in the blue sky.

He was quite happy because of all days, his class had been cancelled and rescheduled for another afternoon. So he didn't have to suffer through another flying class.

That literally put him in the best mood he'd been in since the break had been over. Therefore, when Sophia and Sage had come over and asked him to go for a walk with them outside, Kim had agreed. He didn't care where he went, as long as it wasn't to flying class. But at the same time, he'd put up a bit of a 'fight' for a few minutes. After all, he couldn't let them think they could easily convince him to go to places. Or else they'd do it all the time. Hell, Sage had already done so before with the broom racing errand, although that had turned out alright.

Looking back on it, Kim was glad Sage had dragged him there because it had been one of the last times he'd been to an event with Juniper before the girl had left the school for family reasons. A sigh escaped his lips at the thought, her presence was missed by many students, including him. Although, Kim wouldn't admit this to anyone. He wasn't the sort to express his emotions to others. Sage started to speak to him as they walked and Kim listened and then offered some words of his own. But when it turned to small talk, he stopped responding.

Kim didn't like small talk.

He thought it was unimportant and that people only did it for one reason.

To make it seem as if they were being polite, when they actually had no interest in hearing the answer to their questions. In Kim's mind, if you didn't want to hear the answer, then why ask the question in the first place? It was around this time that Sophia suddenly grabbed his hand and then started running over somewhere. Upon reaching their destination, Sophia told the organizer that they were all going to play and Kim blinked. Play? Play what? Some game?

He looked around. There were six other people already present around them. Hopefully it wasn't a game that involved getting close to others. Or one that involved heights. Kim didn't see a sign that advertised the game and he hadn't been paying attention earlier when the organizer had called out for participants. But someone would probably say something about the game soon. Right? Kim nodded when Sophia said it was going to be fun. Maybe it would?

The Gryffindor glanced over at Sage to see what she thought of all this.

Ileen had been dragged into group activities by several people over the last few years. Now, it was time for a change. Instead of an overly enthusiastic housemate or friend, her feisty furball, also known as Liv, brought her this misery. She had seen and heard Alan, as he had called for people to join tag. Ileen liked the boy and wouldn’t say no to a private conversation, but Ileen Knight was the kind of person that stood away from games as much as possible. People would get aggressive and play unfair, hurting each other and blowing everything up. No thanks.

Her cat though had noticed her friend Tiger and was heading towards the older Gryffindor. With her tail pointing up and loudly mewing, she ran towards Alan, Ileen close on her heels, who tried to catch her before she got under the feet of the group of kids. As soon as her cat noticed the group of people, she stopped and stared at Alan, Ileen now only a few feet away from the boy. Close enough that not saying something to a friend would be rude.
I- Hey Alan, how is it going?” She gave him a weak smile and looked around. Oh, crap. Now she was in the middle of this group and felt forced to join the game. Her pride just forbid her to be a quitter.

She had played that game many times when she had been in her muggle elementary school. She didn’t want to have fun. The young Slytherin was athletic and she loved running. This game could be so much fun, but ew, other people!
In her defense, she had experienced all Hogwarts gatherings blooming into pure disaster and thus despised them. “Thank you, Liv,” she mumbled to her cat who now stood frozen among all the people, carefully examining Alan's hoodie pocket.

She stood there awkwardly for a moment, thinking about how to get out of the situation.
Liv didn't like her own idea of running into the crowd of children and jumped onto Ileen's leg with a ruffled neck, where she clung painfully to the girl. With her ears flattened, she hissed aggressively into the crowd.
With a surrendered sigh, like a condemned one accepting her fate, Ileen plucked the recalcitrant cat from her leg and held it up to Alan's nose. "Hey, I think you have a volunteer who wants to be ‘it’."

Accepting her misery, she looked at the other kids that had gathered around. She recognized some of them from her candy donation and gave them a polite nodd.
Man, this would end so bad. In the end, at least one person would be crying and/or hurt. Guaranteed, the little Hufflepuff bundle of energy would tear off one of his braids on a tree - that was just one example she wouldn't be surprised about…
