Midspring Festival
As soon as the sun slipped under the horizon, night was upon them. Now, they would have to create the flames of the sun themselves, either the flames emitting the names of the Hexwizard Champions, or the massive wooden dragon which would soon be shedding sun-like radiance in the throes of its destruction. A student would call out loudly into the courtyard, 'The Goblet is changing color!' and many would quickly rush in through the doors to see the spectacle themselves. This was part of history, the start of something big. The flurry of excitement would be palpable, and adrenaline with it.The festival had not exactly been uneventful though, as few would notice the evil creature in their midst. @M J Davenport was a monster in a gorgeous girl's clothing, and her only intent was to taunt the poor, innocent Flash Holmwood. One soldier of his powerful girl army would react, the Hufflepuff co-captain, suffering from image issues and a string of dueling defeats. Marion was sure to sling some more insults, but would Willow finally grab a victory?OOC note: For this round only, moving from the Festival to the Celebration and moving to the games are both free actions.
Willow casts the Knockback Jinx at Marion (WDC 9)
Willow's cast: [d20: 3] + 10 (success)
Flash's Calming Presence: [d10: 5] (failure)
Willow's accuracy: [d20: 10] + 7
Marion's evasion: [d20: 17] + 10
-> miss
For now, her luck wouldn't change. Marion would be able to toy with Flash without any punishment for the night, but perhaps driving her away was good enough. Who knows what would have happened if Flash had been alone. She definitely should not be walking around cursing people, but how do you fight a hag in disguise?
On the other side of the flower and fire fest, a Durmstrang youth is inspired to bring the chaos outside, as Charles Alluring (@Henry Knight) targets a Hogwarts-looking bystander. A big drink of butterbeer would soak into the garb that @Jane Victoria chose to wear for the evening (you RPed an auto-hit, tell me if you'd like to roll for this instead.) They would want to throw the empty glass back at him in retaliation, and yet they would find it difficult to do (since Jane entered the Festival this round with an action, the second action auto-fails.) Meanwhile, the well-meaning Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin (@Lucia Fox) would attempt to prevent Charles from starting a second round of aggression.
Jane throws a glass at Charles
auto-fails
Do they hurt themselves: [d2: 2] (success)
-> Jane does not hurt themselves
Cassie takes plate from Charles
Cassie's strength: [d20: 13] + 8 + 3 (Muggle Condition)
Charles' strength: [d20: 16] +13 (Obnoxiously Strong)
-> Cassie cannot take the plate away from Charles
Jane would not be able to get revenge, and Charles would not be stopped. Would he continue to antagonize, or would he join his friends in the goblet ceremony? Would Jane continue to fight back, or give up while they're ahead? Either way, there was some broken glass in the middle of the party now, so watch out for that.
As time moved on, anyone still standing in the courtyard would eventually bear witness to shrubberies that had been enchanted to form into plant statues of the champions as they were announced. This would not only work as a secondary line of information, but also as an honor to those who would pass through during the night. One after the other, the branches would grow up and show shocking resemblance to each champion, and stand for the rest of the night (so long as no one burns them down.)

Mask exchange with @AngelFyre McCubbin
The two took some time to complete their creations. There was the urge to look over his shoulder and sneak a peek at what she was doing, but he behaved as a good boy should and didn't. When his was done, he held it at a distance to give it a once over and honestly, it turned out better than he thought it would. It helped that the person working the craft table was helpful with hints here and there that would make all finishing touches look clean and precise.
Simon was happy with it and hoped that she'd like it. He waited until she was finished and then the two made their way out of the Crafting Corner and back into the darkening sky. They exited just in time to hear the announcement that the champions would soon be chosen but he didn't really care what names some cup said. Sure, it was an eventful thing but he didn't place his name as a choice and knew that neither did AngelFyre. Right now he just wanted to remain there in the drunken splendor of the evening on the first night of them being an official couple. Nothing could top this - not some magical international competition amongst wizarding schools, not torch tag, nothing.
"I'm giving you mine first," he spoke up, claiming dibs before she could. Simon smiled brightly at his win too, even if she wasn't going to. "You can wear it, keep it, burn it. The choice is yours, my love," he said as he held it out to her. He was enjoying himself that evening, from their pre-dance in the Rehearsal Room, to her acceptance of being his girlfriend, to the dance they shared, their close moments inside the effigy, and now.
Students began clearing out of the Courtyard and Simon wondered if perhaps they'd be the only two that remained in there. If that were the case than so be it. Besides, something like who the champions would be surely would spread quickly and it wasn't like they wouldn't know. Might even be in the school newspaper too for all he knew, not that he was too keen on reading that these days. Maybe they'd get the names of the champions wrong, just like some of their other 'factual' information.
Simon lifted up the mask and extended it out to her.

"Maybe the wolf is in love with the moon and each month it cries for a love it will never touch. Be the wolf, but know that you never must waste your love on something unattainable. For you, anything is possible." She was all the traits that the wolf symbolized and he truly believed she was capable of anything.

Hana left, leaving Pea alone for the time being. She didn’t really see where he was going due to the crowd. She was actually also being distracted by the weird music playing at this festival. Where is that god-awful sound came from?
But, If Pea's being honest, being left by that boy actually brings her a little relief. -Why? so she can plan her next move, of course. What would she do to make him mad? she thought. Again pushing him to the effigy might sound fun, but a little too crass for her. It should be something a little more subtle. Like? Like what?
And that answer just arrived, in a dapper black suit, sleek blonde hair, and a pair of dreamy dark blue eyes.
Perfect.
A boy approaches her. Someone she didn’t know previously. Maybe her senior? Or maybe from another school? But he is exactly what she needed. A pretty good-looking boy to steal her away from Hana. Oh, she wonders how would Hana react to Pea flirting with another man. Pea examine the boy as he came closer. Yes, he will suffice, definitely much better looking than that midge. But there is something odd about him, there is some sort of air of eeriness that she could not really figure out what is it. But, whatever, she didn’t care. She's sure he is enough to make Hana angry.
"Bonsoir Mademoiselle, fret not, I will be on my way very shortly... Though I was unavoidably curious, and I had a simple question that only you can answer" Said the boy, with a smile that have the same eeriness that she felt mere seconds ago.
But on another note, he’s French. A Beauxbatons student if she presumed correctly? She always adores the French language and its culture. So he’s an even more perfect candidate for this.
“Bonsoir, to you too.” She greeted the blonde with the sweetest smile she could muster.
"Now humour me. What on earth is a seemingly decent lady such as yourself doing with someone like Monsieur... Tone, is it? "
“Oh, just descent?” She answered with the same smile but this time a little more crooked. How dare he said that she’s just descent? She’s obviously overly qualified to be Hana’s date. ...But never mind that, since she wanted to flirt with him, so it might be better to not drive him away just yet.
She chuckles softly, “I’m surely more than just descent for Hana.” She replied with a softer and flirtatious note while flipping her shining white braided hair.
The sweet and flirtatious act does come naturally to her. She's pretty used to it to get what she wants. She often used it with the adults too- and most of the time, she did get what she wants.
“To answer your question, he practically begged me to come here with him, and I took quite a pity on him.” She continued, and well, it is true- he even asks her to the ball twice, although he is not technically begging her, more like embarrassing her into accepting it, but the blonde did not have to know the full details.
"Based on your words, you seemed familiar with Tone? " She continued.
“So let me ask you the same question, monsieur, what is a dapper man like yourself, associating with the likes of him?" Pea asks, turning on the utmost charm towards the blonde.
I'm glad you stopped talking to me. It's like the trash took itself out. - Black Dahlia (2006)

Judith smiled as Hunter comforted her about the mask choice. As she finished her mask, she placed it on and laughed. "I must look ridiculous" she said laughing. She looked at their mask of Hunter, impressed of what he had crafted. " your mask looks, wicked! she said and laughed.
She took off her mask and held it in her hand, just to make sure to not lose it. She listened carefully as a hunter was talking about how he felt. Which she found very important. As she listened to Hunter, she also realised she had opened up far more to someone she barely knew, than she would ever think she'd do.
As Hunter asked her the question she froze for a second, the first person she could think of, was her sister. She was missing her parents and little brother for sure, but the one she was missing the most, was clearly her sister. "Never met them, but I'm so glad you got someone! I do as well, i got juniper, not sure if you ever met her? She's a Ravenclaw as well and just the best!" she said and smiled. "And yea, i miss my parents, they owl me often so that's good" she said smiling. She didn't want to bring up her sister as it would probably ruin the moment.
As Hunter put the crown on her head that he made she blushed, probably so hard that she was looking like a real red flag. "I- Thank you so much, it's gorgeous" she said a bit silent, not really sure how to react. She looked down and smiled, as she realised she felt like flying. As she was thinking about why she felt this way, which she didn't really do with others.
When she talked to Hunter, she felt happy, joyful, safe and after all alive. They had so much fun together that she had forgotten about all things that used to be on her mind, things that were barely important. She looked up, took a deep breath and smiled. "You know, i-, haha, I'm not sure, pff i-" she said stuttering, nervously, not sure if she'd be able to word the phrase she had prepared in her head. "We've been friends for a bit now hu? And we've hung out, which i absolutely love! So I was wondering, if you'd like to have like dinner or lunch together, like a picnic, as in like a 'date'?" she said. As the word date rolled over her tongue she only realised what she had said. She liked Hunter, and she had just asked him out...

AngelFyre very quickly gave up on the idea of gluing feathers to Simon's mask. The paint was taking long enough to dry. Gluing a gazillion feathers to his mask was going to take precious time away from being with him on their first night as a couple, so Bye! Bye! feathers. Besides, even though Simon was definitely a dove, AngelFyre just could not envision her hunky fellow in feathers. The Elton John look could be saved for another night... another time.... another person.
She honestly was not as happy with it as she wanted to be, but he would surely be able to see the likeness of a dove. At least looking at this would not be as painful as listening to her singing had been, so he was waaaaaay ahead of the game on that score. Thank heaven for small miracles.
They finished pretty close together. He did edge her out and got to the finish line first... it was the broom racer in him she was certain... and he made the executive decision that he would get to present his mask to her first. She smiled at him and gave a nod to his victory. AngelFyre absolutely loved his assertiveness, because he knew when to press it and when to step back from it. It was a thoroughly attractive masculine trait and he wielded it well. Following his lead did not make her weak or less than him in any way, and she was well aware of this. And knowing Simon as she did, she knew he was aware of it too. They had never really specifically talked about it, but she suspected their mutually strong Christian upbringings most likely had their ideas and beliefs, to the extent that they had them at 13 years and 11 years (almost 12!) of age pretty much aligned. And if they were not, well, that was a long time off, but she knew in her heart there would be no real issue.
It was hard not to notice that everyone was heading into the Great Hall. It must mean that the Hexwizard champions were being announced. AngelFyre did not give a flying fig about the tournament, but she looked at Simon. Maybe he might want to see it? Watching him watch the students vacating the Courtyard told her everything she needed to know. He was not longingly looking after them as if he was being held hostage out there with her. Instead, he was looking around the now nearly vacant area in the opposite direction. She laughed. She could not help it. He was clearly not bothered by missing it. Besides, it was not like they were completely alone out there. Others were still milling around. AngelFyre expected the news would travel fast anyhow.
As he turned back around, he presented her with his mask creation. Before she even took a look at it, she was caught off guard by his telling her that she could "wear it, keep it, burn it." She was going to punch him in the shoulder playfully and reply that burning it was never going to be an option, but she was silenced when he called her his love. He had called her "love" before, but the possessive was new. Not going to lie. She loved that immediately. AngelFyre was very quickly coming to learn that were some pretty nice perks that came along with the girlfriend designation, but the best, by far, was the boyfriend himself. And then she saw the mask he had made and heard his beautiful words.
"Oh, Simon. It is gorgeous. Truly. And look at you, matching the colors with my gown. I want to try it on, hair be danged." She was smiling so happily as she took it and turned her back momentarily while putting it on and then turning back to face him. "So? What do you think? I bet it is beautiful!"
She made herself laugh when she tip-toed up to kiss him, but realized a little too late in the process that was not going to work, so with a free hand she instead blew kisses at him. Those would have to do for the moment. "So, my normally crafty self struggled a bit with your dove mask, I have to say. I guess all things worth while... and by that I mean you... require effort, so when you look at it, just remember that there is no amount of effort I would not willingly put into you.... into us... to make things work as they should." And then she brought his mask out from behind her back and presented it to him.
She would say more, but first she needed to lift her mask up because she wanted him to be able to see the seriousness in her eyes. "As we were making these, I thought hard about our chosen animals, and how well they actually do represent us. On my own, without you, I would be fine. I would get along. I would likely, at some point in the future, be happy. I may even find someone who would love me and I could love back. I also am well aware that I am not the remarkable soul in our pairing. But. I know I am better with you now, and I know I will be better with you in the future. My best version of me will happen with and because of you. Do not ask me how I know these things, but I do know them. It is not wishful thinking on my part. Without me, you, too, would be fine and I have no doubt, you being you, would live a remarkable and completely fulfilling life full of love and all the things your heart desires. But."
And then she grew silent for a few moments, letting him fill in the rest for himself. "This is a lot I know, but you should know that about me by now. I am not telling you this to pin you down forever and always. There is a lot ahead of us, together and on our own. New experiences and new people. Maybe new heartbreaks. I hope not, but it is part of growing up. Maybe we do part at some point, maybe even two minutes after I finish this speech I will see you high-tailing it out of here," and she laughed nervously "but everything in me tells me 'my' purpose for existing in this time and in this place is you, Simon. You know what they say? 'Behind every great man....' "
She took a deep breath but continued her fixed gaze on his eyes. He was doing the same. "I have known and felt this since our first dance in the Rehearsal Room. I tell you about it now so that you can have a full understanding of where I am coming from in all of this. And if you really stop to think about it, I cannot imagine any of it is a surprise to you, is it?
As far as our chosen animals, well, they could not be more perfect. The she wolf. Embodies all of the things you stated earlier. Wolves do not usually get the credit they deserve for being fierce, loyal, playful, gentle, protective guardians. They are also patient. Reclusive outside of their pack. And clever. They look inwardly. Yet all of that is a vital kind of love. Introspective. Homefires and hearthfires." Then she laughed again. "And honestly... 12 or more children? Who better than a pack animal to help a dove out, I ask you?"
"Then there is your dove. The truly remarkable one here. You give yourself to the world, Simon, in a way I am just not built to do. I have no less love for the world. It just is not the path I am supposed to walk. And there it is. I am supposed to walk, but you? You, my love, are meant to soar and shine your love in the hearts of everyone you meet. And you can do that on your own, just as you do now, or even with someone other than the wolf currently standing before you, but you could do everything you are meant to do so much better and more easily with a soft place to land. And even doves cannot soar with no respite." Then AngelFyre reached for his hand and walked them over to a bench.
"I struggled with whether to tell you all of this tonight or not. I hope this is not me ruining another of your evenings. I know this is a lot. I know I am a lot. But I also know I would turn myself inside out for you if it were necessary, and I do not say that lightly. I hold myself in quite high regard actually. I do not consider my 'part' in this as a cast off, inconsequential unit. I am not. Again, I do not know how or why I know this, but I do. You may very well find another in this wide, beautiful world who could love you as much as I know I love you, but I promise you that you will never find anyone who could love you more... or better.
So, Happy first night as an official couple, Simon."
And just then, the announcements for the Hexwizard Tournament Champions could clearly be heard in the Courtyard, and with the announcement of each name, incredibly beautiful and detailed shrub-like topiaries in the likeness of each champion sprang up in the Courtyard. It was a spectacular sight and she was glad that they got to see it together.
Would they be a 'they' for much longer and get to see many more wonderful things together? Please God, let the answer be yes.

Most of Charles's group agreed to letting Hailey tag along with the rest of them, which she was glad of. She wouldn't have needed permission really, she would have come along either way, but she figured that it made a nicer impression. "Of course," she replied in Russian to Henry's statement about chaos at the festival.
"Seems like you've already caused some trouble though," she said as she ducked from a flying glass thrown by some Hogwarts student. "What have you done to make them so upset?" she questioned, glaring at the student who had thrown the glass while speaking. She noted the girl that had thrown it seemed angered, so Hailey guessed that Charles had been the first to throw some object at them.
Starting over with Cassie, as the girl said her name was, didn't seen to go the best. She introduced herself, sure, but she didn't seem to keen to do so. If Cassie didn't want to try and make things right, then Hailey wouldn't try to continue on with her either. She turned away from the Beauxbatons girl without another word, rolling her eyes once her back was turned and she was sure the girl couldn't see her face.
"Nice to meet you Drew," she responded in English to the boy who had introduced himself. "I'm Hailey. I don't think we've met either, but now's as good time as ever." He seemed much more friendly than Cassie, although he was Ilvermorny. She decided to let the issues with Ilvermorny fade though, so she harbored no ill will towards this boy.
Turning back to Charles once more, she saw Cassie was attempting to stop him from causing any more trouble with the Hogwarts student, and failing. "What trouble did you have in mind, and does it involve them?" she asked with a nod in the Hogwarts student's direction.

--- Date: 02/04/22 || Time: --:-- ---Flicking Kim on the nose was satisfying, and he certainly deserved it. So much so, that Sophia had completely tuned out the boy's actions on the walk to the sign-ups. It didn't help that the sheer chaos of the room and the Hexwizard tournament participant announcements left her unable to pay much attention to, well, anything. Despite these events distracting her further, she finally had a moment to focus on what had happened in the chaos. All of a sudden, the memory and trauma of the event came rushing back to her, as she almost felt the contact of Kim's body as he held her closely just a short moment ago.
He'd claimed he didn't want her to get hurt, and part of her believed it, but a bigger part of her could remember the feeling of his arms wrapped tightly around her bare biceps, and goodness, were his arms strong. So very strong. That same part of her could almost still feel his hand cradling her head, softly yet firmly, and, to her eternal embarrassment, she felt lightheaded, in a way she'd never felt. And finally, that part of her remembered the feeling of Kim's chest against her head because of their stupid height difference.
Along with these flustering sensations, however, Sophia's anger returned as she remembered the occurrence. This anger intensified as the boy had the gall to ask about the berry snack she'd been munching on before. Did he have no shame? Flirting with her, attacking her with a teacup, grabbing her like that with some lame explanation, and now he was going to bring up the stupid berry pastry taste test of his?
She could feel the heat radiating from her own cheeks as she remembered the sensation of the taller boy's thumb on her cheek. She growled at him and whispered loudly, "The berry pastry!?"
Sophia crossed her arms and glared at him, "You're worried about the pastry? You can't just - just, grab a girl like that and then start going on about stupid pastries, you - er - you creep!"
She knew that 'creep' wasn't a proper description of Kim, and she wasn't really angry at him. After all, he probably wasn't even lying about trying to protect her, but she didn't know how else to react, as she had never been grabbed like that before, and just letting it go felt, well, dirty.
She crossed her arms and tried to use her hands to disguise the fact that her arms were almost red enough to match her cheeks by grabbing both biceps. Then she pouted and added, "It was on that table, before it was destroyed."
She stormed past him, grabbing his hand as he had grabbed hers before and dragging him as aggressively as she could manage in her smaller size toward the exit. She mumbled flatly, "Come on. We have a game to play."
She knew it was mean to not even give him the opportunity for a pastry, but she didn't care in the moment. She dragged him outside and allowed the sights to distract her from the flustered mess she'd become.
It almost worked. The fire was massive and roaring, the effigy was really, really cool (and she regretted not paying more attention to announcements and preparing a wish for the effigy!) and the crafting station was calling her name after she survived this firewalking course, which was just in the distance. She felt a new surge of fear at the sight, but the adrenaline of dragging the flirty boy behind her overpowered her trepidation.
She distracted herself with thoughts of hitting the crafting table after the games with her three friends, but such thoughts couldn't distract her from the coming danger.
She turned to Kim and a bit of her hostility fell away. She muttered, "What do you think of all this?"

Kim blinked as Sophia echoed his words about the berry pastry she'd had before.
It almost seemed as if she were mad.
But why? Did the berry pastry bring up some unwanted memory of hers? She'd seemed to like it before. So maybe it wasn't the food in general, perhaps it was when he'd tasted it off her cheek? Kim couldn't help but smirk at the thought and shook his head, finding her rather amusing if that was the reason. He hadn't thought she would be that pure and innocent. Kim didn't take offense at anything Sophia said, he was the type to let words wash right over him.
Most of the time. When Sophia finally relented and told him what he wanted to know, Kim pouted too. The potluck table had been destroyed and the food was scattered all over the floor. It would be a pain to sort through the mess and find the remnants of the pastry, which was a shame. But still, if the mess still remained after the games were over, there was a slight chance he might check it out. If no one was looking at him. He didn't want others to see him.
And then Sophia did something rather unexpected, which surprised Kim a little.
She took his hand and dragged him off.
But it was true, they did have a game to play and it was time for it to start. They couldn't waste time elsewhere. As the two of them entered the courtyard, Kim looked around them.
It was so pretty from what he was used to. There were ribbons, bushels of flowers and even a large bouquet around the fountain itself. There was also a simple wooden stall decorated with flowers, it appeared as though students could make flower crowns or paint animal masks. A fun booth. There was also a small stage with some people playing musical instruments and of course the main eye-opening thing inside the courtyard. The bonfire, in all its glory there.
With the dragon effigy directly behind it.
Then Sophia stopped and turned to Kim to ask him what he thought of everything.
He gave her his attempt at a smile, hoping it didn't come across as a smirk, and nodded towards the flower-decorated stall nearby them. "It looks really pretty, those in charge really outdid themselves." Kim remarked and then continued, "We should pay a visit to that stall when we're done with the game. It seems as if you can make your own flower crowns and paint animal masks for yourself or others." He told her.
Kim let his eyes linger on Sophia. "I think it would be fun to do, don't you?" He asked and then a voice was heard signaling the start of the games. It told them to report to the site where the games would be taking place and Kim looked over at Sophia. "Guess that means us!" He said and then started to head towards the designated location. Kim was actually curious to find out what this game he'd picked entailed. Hopefully it wouldn't be too bad......
For Sophia.

Midspring Festival
Stamina: 6 ✧ Evasion: 6 ✧ Strength: 5 ✧ Wisdom: 7 ✧ Arcane Power: 5 ✧ Accuracy: 6【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】There was a sudden burst of noise from the doors adjacent to the courtyard--explosions, shouting, spells going off, and at the tail end of it all, Gemima could vaguely make out a man's voice announcing..names?
She strained to listen above all the racket, now added to by several students vacating the festival area, but she couldn't quite make out what was being said.
Gem sighed and settled back onto the bench. There was no reason to go back to the Great Hall at the moment; it seemed plenty chaotic already.
Suddenly, the many hedges surrounding the young Ravenclaw began to shift and change shape, until they morphed into the likenesses of people. Six figures emerged before her eyes--four boys, and two girls.
Gem rose from her seat on the bench and flitted among the sculptures, peering at them with utmost scrutiny. These must be the champions! She recognized the uniforms they wore--one for each of the six wizarding schools-- but she couldn't recognize their faces.
Her shoulders drooped in slight disappointment. She recalled that a couple of her friends; Castor and Aurelius for instance, had put their names into the Goblet of Fire. It was a shame that they weren't chosen.
Well, she thought, shrugging, I'll still go to cheer these people on. This is a once in a lifetime sort of event!
Gemima took a deep breath, and clapped her hands together. The dizzying thoughts of the last few minutes were finally starting to dissipate. She ventured out from the cluster of hedges, which had convieniently hidden her from prying eyes.
As she expected, the courtyard was far less populated than before. But then she finally spotted a familiar face.
"Sage!" she cried, rushing over to the taller girl.
Gem quickly scrubbed the leftover tears from her face. Hopefully no one could tell that she had been crying. "There you are! I'm sorry for abandoning you like that! I was taking care of my wishes," She gestured in the general direction of the dragon effigy, "They're going to burn it soon. But, uh, do you know where the other two have gone?"
Gemima had honestly forgotten about Kim and Sophia in all the excitement. She knew that they had signed up for the games, but she had neglected to find out which one, exactly.
Well, maybe she and Sage could find them together! She had also been planning to look around the festival area some more. It'd be nice to walk with the Gryffindor, and get to know her better. She was the only one out of their little group that Gemima hadn't entirely met.【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】Interacting: @Sage Lilly

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"

Midspring Festival
The night began to slip into the surrounding sky and upon it, the lights of candles, the moon, and the bonfire were the only items to bring warmth. Hunter could hear the call of the goblet, and the statues of each champion rising were quite a new surprise. A mixture of plants and fires truly made the evening much more fascinating than one could have expected. Although, Hunter was having trouble noticing such scenery. Even the commotions occurring between other students and the sounds of casting spells flew over Hunter's deaf ears.
He was much too in the moment and slightly amazed with Judith's artistic skills upon her mask: "Ridiculous? I'd have to say it's much more... wicked? then mine." 'Wicked,' a term Hunter never heard before nor ever thought he'd find himself saying. He was glad to find that his own mask could be considered wicked, but unlike Judith, he decided to keep his mask on.
Listening to her sweet tone speak was nice... till the slight mention of Juniper Kelly. One of the few housemates that he got to speak with before, and it ended up being more than just a conversation. As Hunter recalled, and it was hard to forget, the altercation between the two ended with Hunter being kicked in a region best left to the imagination. Hearing Judith state they're related, was hard for Hunter to believe. He found Judith to be a lot more pleasant to be around, but he found to identify the few characteristics between Judith and Juniper. Both were short in height and gave off radiating a feeling of adventure. Staring a bit, Hunter flinched a little as he could have sworn he saw Juniper Kelly rather than Judith Cohen standing in front of him. Shaking his head, he came back to reality. Since families are considered closer than friends, Hunter decided not to make any comments.
As Judith began to sputter a bit of utter nonsense, Hunter gave a slightly confused look. Her reddish face of a strawberry certainly made him slightly panicked. Was she burning up from all the firey commotion? Or perhaps she was having an allergic reaction to one of the flowers. Hunter's heart was going to skip a beat in the belief that he might have just ruined their evening. He was going to place his hand on Judith's forehead to check her temperature as his mother always taught him, but he then stopped midway. As the term, 'date' came out of Judith's mouth, Hunter could feel his own face begin to boil up. It was difficult to notice with the mask he wore, but he probably wore a darker shade of embarrassment than Judith beneath it. He's heard the term before, and read a multitude of books that spoke of romance mischief and the dreaded 'date.'
The placebo of a potion faded in an instant, and the dark looming creature of fear began to eat away at Hunter's confidence. What was he supposed to do? What was he supposed to say? He tried to utter words, but nothing would come out.
Beneath a canopy of blossoming trees, petals danced upon the tranquil wind. A rising flame illuminated the silhouettes of a short girl with a slightly taller boy. Hunter's mask didn't display emotions and he could see the anticipation in Judith's expression for an answer. Only a short pause had occurred, but the suspense most likely made it feel like an eternity. Hunter's mind threw out logic and was in disarray. His mind attempted to try and bring logic, anxitiey, and paranoia back into Hunter, "She's after something; you don't know enough about her; what can you gain from her?; a pureblood and a part-goblin?;" This was a snippet of the few things that ran through Hunter's head in the short amount of seconds with no response. However, it came to no avail. Hunter's cold analysis of people had not occurred once during the entire night. Instead, only the joy of spending time with someone had happened.
Hunter looked at the ground and removed his mask. Unable to look at Judith due to the immense amounts of embarrassment he said, "Well... if you'd like to, then I-I gladly accept. B-bu-but are you sure Judith? I-I mean, there's a lot of other interesting people here to spend time with." A sheepish and innocent tone, Hunter hadn't expected this to occur at all tonight.
