"Yes. I cannot wait to visit Aunt Felicia." Maeve said happily. "I'll owl you with pic-pictures of War. I promise." She said softly. "And the other ones too. I'm helping her in the rese-resear-research department."
Maeve began eating quickly now, as it was starting to get late, and she had agreed to speak with Dahlia and Benjamin after dinner. Maybe she would stand them up. She had friends, she didn't need them to fuss over her anymore. Dahlia was furiously trying to make eye contact with her, but Maeve was ignoring her. Dahlia was a jerk usually, it wasn't fair that she suddenly got to control Maeve's Hogwarts life.
Yes, she would ignore them and go to the common room with her friends after dinner. She smiled at Guy. "Which class do you think you're most ex-excite-excited for?" She him happily. Maeve needed to distract herself from her siblings' nagging. What better way to do that than with class discussions?
"I know I already said this, but Care of Mag-Magic-Magical Creatures is definitely going to be my favo-favorite." Maeve said. She grabbed a roll and took a large bite out of it. The food here was so much better than anyone could imagine. Maeve felt lucky. She got to enjoy it. A lot of people didn't.

Aravis listened carefully as they two chatted happily. "I don't have a favorite dragon, I love them all. My mother used to own 2 but they got passed down to my father until I am old enough to handle them. I think one was named Kilorn and the other was Daenerys. My mother got the names from muggle books and shows. Also, Odette is not my sibling, she's my cousin. I have one more brother- Maven- who is two years younger than LuLu and I." She said while she took out the braid in her hair. She could only keep it like that for so long before she got annoyed with it.
She ate her food until all of it was gone as Lucien had told her to do. She knew if she didn't eat her Aunt would find out and probably kill Aravis for it. Frankly she didn't want to deal with an angry Aunt Farrah. Her mind drifted back to her mother's dragons. She hadn't seen the albino one recently. She couldn't wait to visit them once school was out. They went every year with their father. He had told Aravis that Lucien and her would be allowed to bring a friend. Aravis had already decided one a few in case her best friend wasn't allowed to go.

Maeve finished her food just as they were replaced by desserts. "Oh!" Maeve said softly, a bit of excitement leaking into her voice. "Dess-dessert!"
She took a tiny sliver of cake. Maeve was already pretty full, she didn't need too much. Just a little bit to reward herself for getting through her first day of Hogwarts. It was chocolate, her favorite, and she ate it slowly to savor it. It was probably the best cake she had ever eaten.
Her mind drifted off to her mother. Her mother would surely be lonely with all four of her children gone. She did have Glaedr, though. Maeve's mother loved the kneazle almost as much as Maeve did.
Maeve suddenly began worrying about her farm. Who did her mother have taking care of the creatures? She hoped it wasn't the house elves. They despised Maeve, and would do anything to get at her.
Then Maeve relaxed. Her mother had promised to hire a zoologist for her. A Scamander descendant, she had claimed. Maeve really hoped so. She had learned almost everything she knew about Magical Creatures from Newt Scamander. Since she couldn't get his help, one of his grandchildren would suffice.
Maeve scolded herself. Lineage didn't matter, smarts did. She hoped whoever took care of her creatures was as interested about the creatures as she was. If not, it would be a long seven years until she got to do it year-round again.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Cassie angerly walked over to the slytherin table after finding out her twin got sorted into gryfindor. She sat down and slammed her hand on the table making the silverware clang. Her face was red with anger.
Cassie wiped a strand of neon blue hair from her face. Some black hair still showed through her blue dye.
She sat down and put food on her plate and ate it angerly. She frowned and sighed.
It was not fair that her brother was a gryffindor. He was in the rival house. It made her so frustrated. Why couldn't they be in the same house.
Cassie frowned and sighed in frustration. Hopefully she wasn't annoying anybody, but she was so mad.
The frustrated girl ate less angerly than before. Then she cracked her knuckles absentmindly. She was so mad she could punch anyone, but Cassie closed her eyes and took deep breaths to calm herself down. She was using all her concentration to not punch the nearest person. It was so frustrating that she couldn't just go and take her anger out by talking with her brother. Sighing again she took a drink of water and watched everyone at the table around her.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Melora had been sat trying to avoid conversation during the entire meal. She felt like it would be impossible for her to make any friends at Hogwarts. She hadn't met many people during her life, especially not children.
At first, Melora was so excited to finally meet some people her age, but the longer she sat at the table the more anxious she started to feel. As the pressure on her chest increased and her fingers started to tremble she closed her eyes and wished for home.
She imagined her with her mother in the garden. Smelling the roses and chasing away the rabbits from the lettuce. The sun warming her skin and the sound of the river flowing nearby.
She almost instantly felt calm again. But as soon as she opened her eyes and came back to reality the anxiety came back. Melora clenched the fork in her fist and took a deep breath. She was going to make friends, pass her classes and get herself that damn dragon she'd always wanted. But in order to make friends, someone would have to approach her first. There was no way in hell Melora would manage that on her own.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Alma had been sitting at the table for a while now, not speaking a word. Instead, she preferred to calmly watch the conversations around her unfold, the friendships being made. Occasionally, she’d glance up to cast yet another look at the enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall. Her brother had told her stories of his time in Hogwarts, she’d read books about it as well, yet nothing came close to seeing the real thing with one’s own eyes.
When the hat had announced her to be a Slytherin, she’d taken it in stride. Her family had been a bunch of Ravenclaws until her, she’d been sure that she’d be a Ravenclaw, but she assumed that the hat would know best which house suited her the most.
When her classmates began to talk about dragons, Alma smiled. What exciting things everyone talked about! Dragons were fascinating, yet she knew very little about them other than one had ended up as part of her wand. So hearing other people readily share what they knew about dragons and which books to read about them if one wanted to learn more about them was convenient. She could write her father and ask whether they had the books her classmates had suggested, at their shop.
Alma wondered if people here would know her family’s book shop. Malvado’s Marvelous Manuscripts was known to hold pretty much every book you could need (along with plenty you’d absolutely never need), yet it was still located on Knockturn Alley and Alma wondered how many students would have been allowed to visit that street before coming to Hogwarts...
With a sigh, Alma shrugged off that thought. There was no way of knowing that without asking someone, yet she had little interest of assaulting someone with such an out-of-the-blue question just yet. For now, she’d have to concentrate on making friends first.
Adopting a, hopefully, charming smile, she turned to the girl sitting opposite her.
“Apologies, would you mind passing me the water? I do not much like pumpkin juice, yet can’t quite reach the water from over here. I’m Alma Malvado by the way, pleasure to meet you all.”

Sebastian watched and listened.
Since being placed into Slytherin, he had mostly been keeping to himself, not used to the crowds surrounding him, or the loud cheers and cries every time someone was sorted. It wasn't that the Irish boy wasn't able to handle the sensations, it was simply that his entire childhood had been largely sheltered with very few interactions beyond his parents and tutors. So suddenly being thrust into an environment like Hogwarts had been a severe shock to his system.
Still, as the ceremony continued, and the unsorted students began to dwindle, Sebastian had managed to work through most of the uncertainty and discomfort. Looking across the table he noted several newly sorted Slytherins, most of whom seemed a combination of excited and nervous; there were the few that showed completely different emotions, with one female student with dark black hair and blue eyes being particularly calm and polite, and another with bright blue hair being quite agitated.
The latter, for instance, was starting to annoy Sebastian. The table thumping, huffing and general annoyance she projected began to get on his nerves. There was a time and place for acting like a child, and being presented to your new House in front of your peers was not it. Despite usually being a quiet individual, Sebastian had to say something - he couldn't keep ignoring her, especially when his utensils kept bouncing around with her fist impacts...
"You, with the blue-hair," Sebastian said, sneering as he locked silver-blue eyes on her. "Is this how you usually act, or is the sorting ceremony a special occasion?"
Nearby, Sebastian heard another student introduce herself - Malvado - and immediately recalled the somewhat famous bookstore in Knockturn Alley. And while the Irish boy hadn't been personally, it certainly had a reputation for holding some very interesting books. Sebastian would ensure to speak to her, once he had dealt with blue-hair, as a friendship could prove useful...

Cassie sighed irrateded and looked at Sebastian. He had some nerves to talk to her in this mood. Of course he didn't know to not speak to her in her mood. "Excuse me, I have a name. Cassie Stone, and I'm very annoyed that my twin got put in Gryffindor. So if you would just go back to your business." She said glaring at him with electric blue eyes. People could be rude. She knew she was rude, but right then she didn't care any more. He was getting on her nerves and she wanted to make go back to his business.
Cassie stopped doing what she was doing and ate her food quietly. Her face showed she was still angry since her pale skin was tinged with red and a scowl was on her lips. She did not like Sebastian's additude towards her. Yes, she was the one in a mood and doing rude actions, but in her mind she didn't care what he thiught of her at that moment. All she wanted right now was to be angry in peace. Which the boy was not allowing her to do and he was making her even more agitated than she was before.

Sebastian remained deadpan, eyes staring, as he listened to the female student. Ironically she introduced herself throughout the course of telling Sebastian to mind his own business, but also explained the cause of the agitation she was feeling. Being split up from a sibling wasn't something Sebastian had knowledge of feeling, as he was an only child, but he would presume that being separated from someone you've been - again, presumably - close to your entire life would be irritating.
Is she implying I'm in the wrong? He thought to himself, as one eyebrow raised. Surely not...
"Well, Cassie Stone, I was content minding my own business," Sebastian said, his voice low as his face resumed the sneer. "Until my business began jumping and bumping all over the table by your incessant fist thumping..."
Sebastian sat forward, grabbing the fork that had landed a small distance away, returning it to place beside his plate. He noticed that Cassie went quiet, as she focused on furiously eating her food, which prompted Sebastian to use the moment to speak.
"You're in Slytherin now," He said simply, shrugging. "You need to accept that, and understand what that means for you. As a fellow Slytherin, I can honestly say seeing you being so emotionally charged and prone to lashing out in frustration doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in your ability to be subtle and cunning... also, this is your first day in this House, like myself, so perhaps it's best to put on a good face for the senior year students."
Sebastian smirked.
"We Slytherin have an image to keep, after all. And my name is Sebastian Leeds. A pleasure to meet you, I suppose."

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
The first thing Edric did once he'd taken a seat at the Slytherin table was to turn his head and try to find his brothers among the see of students at the Gryffindor table.
He was still overwhelmed by being a Slytherin. Of course he'd already guessed that he wouldn't become a Gryffindor, he wasn't as brave or outspoken as Adair and Harry, but somehow that had just made him assume that he would end up in Hufflepuff like their father had been. Slytherin and Ravenclaw had never been on his mind. Banes' were too hands-on, practical people to make even semi-decent Ravenclaws, and Slytherins were said to be cunning and clever. Edirc was neither of those.
Ambition, the hat had said. Well, he wanted to become a successful winged horse rider, but didn't everyone have a dream they wanted to come true? Edric was confused by his sorting. He knew that the Sorting Hat didn't make mistakes, but he really didn't feel like a Slytherin. How was he supposed to be sly and clever?
Harry's wildly waving arms finally caught his attention. Both of his brothers were leaning away from their table to stare at him, pointing him out to their friends at the table. Edric waved back uncertainly. Harry screamed something then, and with a lot of imagination he thought it might have been a "Well, done, little bro!" Adair gave him a thumbs up. Their enthusiasm made him smile a little. Even though they annoyed him most of the time it was nice to see that his older siblings would have his back even when they were in rivaling houses.
"Please," he said, handing her the jug of water she'd asked for, "I don't like pumpkin juice that much either, it's too sweet for me."
He smiled at Alma and then remembered that he should introduce himself too, blushing a little. "I'm Edric Banes, nice to meet you."

Among all the loud conversations going on around the table it was the calm voice of a girl sitting on the opposite site of the table that finally caught his attention. She had addressed another first year that sat beside him, but the girl looked to be so lost in though that she hadn't noticed the question directed at her.Alma Malvado wrote: 21 May 2018, 08:31 "Apologies, would you mind to pass me the water?
