Haley had not been able to wait for this day and finally it was here. Today the other schools would arrive, which she didn't really care about, but what she did care about was that Charles would be arriving today. Since the last time they had run into each other they had built up a special friendship, he gave her private lessons about "the dark side", they gave each other challenges and wrote to each other regularly. But today they would finally be able to see each other live and in person again. It had been Haley's bright spot in the last few weeks, besides good days there were also many with a broken heart and she could use a good friend, some distraction and a stern word or two about her behaviour due to the breakup with Simon. Charles was just the man for the job.

Haley unfortunately hadn't made it to the arrival of the ships but had already heard some of the initial drama. Of course, nothing could go normally, she just hoped Charles was okay, but secretly she knew she shouldn't worry about the tall blonde. She was just heading into the Great Hall to keep an eye out for said boy and as she stopped in the large doorway her eyes scanned the large room, which was even more crowded than it already was with just the students of Hogwarts. There were additional students from the other schools spread out at all four tables and it was hard to get an overview. She looked and looked, her eyes searching for a specific person.

But Haley was far from successful, she didn't manage to catch sight of him and to her misery she caught sight of a person she least wanted to see. But she saw him, she quickly tried to look away again, but for a few seconds her gaze rested on him. Big mistake Haley Rose. It only took a few seconds for her mood to change, the joy had gone, her heart ached and she wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. She could hear Charles telling her that she should have gone in there with pride and a smile, but she couldn't manage that today. Forgetting for a moment what her real destination had been, she turned and stumbled past the crowd of students on their way into the Great Hall.

She tried to take a deep breath, to suppress and ignore the pain. To be strong and hold back the tears, as she had managed to do many times before. But it was on some of those days that she found it hard. When the nights were especially long and the pain was present. She ran through the corridors, past the students, eyes on the floor. She didn't want anyone to see her like this. She fled away from the people until she finally ended up in an empty classroom.

Haley quickly pushed the door shut behind her, both her hands pressing against the wooden door, her head leaning against it, and while one moment she was sad and hurt, now she was angry at herself. Angry that she had let her feelings affect her like that, angry that she was still so hurt by the break-up. That her heart still missed someone who had replaced her after only a few days. That she had fled here so pathetically. Now here she stood, angry, sad and hurt. "Oh come on Haley!" she grumbled to herself, taking a swing with her right fist and slamming it full force against the wooden door. "Argh! Damn it!" she grumbled, shaking her hand, knuckles red and slightly bloody. She really should have learned from her last punch.

The first moment Charle could see, he took to change from the uncomfortable and drenched durmstrang uniform into a outfit somewhat more comfortable and much more of his style.

Black jeans, shirt, leather jacket. Scuffed up trainers. The blonde ruffled his blonde hair, stands falling evenly. He wasn't one to spend hours on his appearance but he does care about it. Straightening his clothes, brushing put the curls. Sliding a guyliner pen into his pocket, a item that he have taken to wearing around durmstrang but wasn't sure about wearing it around hogwarts. Not sure what Drew would think, what banter Ro would come up with, and what Cassie would say...

Going to the hall. He set his eyes for his friends. When he spotted them, a small wave and half smile paired with his head nod. Walking over when his eyes caught a familiar redhead rushing out? Charles decided to meet the group later, suddenly his mind focused on another matyer. Stepping through the hall, rounding the corrior as he followed the hogwarts girl a bit away. Not wanting her to know he is there.

When she entered the classroom, the blonde peered around the wall waiting for her to shut the door before approaching.

Sliding his hands into his jean pockets. Charles eyed the door, a loud thud aginest the wood. Charles smiled a little as he apporched, smoothly knocking his fist aginest the door.

"Mind if I join you?"

His voice collected, normal tone as he turned the knob and pushed the door open. Leaning aginest the frame, crossing his arms loosely over his chest. Eyes examining Haley when they caught the knuckles, bare from skin.

A breath. Charles looked her over as he spoke"how are you?" Starting with light conversation as he offered a cool head nod toward her knuckles, "note for next time, try not punching wood," a simple smile. The blonde pushed himself off the door frame, took the short steps to Haley. Takimg a spot besides from her. The blonde held up his fist, curling his fingers into a fist and holding it tight. Tapping the space between the knuckles and thumb.

"Try hitting on the back of your fingers instead of the knuckles to avoid blood," Charles explained then demonstrated, punching the wood of the door himself. The door swinging shut. A sly smile as he looked towsrd Haley ans spoke"your turn, try picturing Simon's face."

Crossing his arms loosely over his chest. The blonde eyed her carefully as he spoke"are you still running out when seeing him?" A simple question where he wasn't expecting a answer as he continued"I told you, use the emotions to empower yourself to strike. To get your revenge, emotions are only a weakness when we let it be but it can be a great power to use to strengthen attacks."

This can't be happening now? Haley silently dodged the situation. Of course, someone had to be here now of all times, at best the still unknown person had heard her emotional outburst or in some way overheard it. "I hate this righ now." She cursed softly to herself so that it was only audible to her. Before she could answer, the door began to open. She took a deep breath, hid her hands behind her back and tried to put on a smile.

It didn't take Haley a second to realise who was leaning in the doorway. She caught sight of the familiar leather jacket and immediately she was relieved. Charles. She dropped the corners of her mouth immediately, the fake smile gone. She slumped her shoulders and no longer hid her hands either. She looked at him standing there, looking her up and down. She said nothing, just stood there and knew she didn't have to hide anything from him and yet at the same time she felt uncomfortable.

She couldn't help but snort contemptuously at the question. "Oh I am really very well and you my dear?" she replied sarcastically without an angry tone. She was not angry, rather she despised herself and what shape she had been in a few minutes ago. But from experience she didn't have to pay attention to her sarcasm or manner with Charles, usually he understood and didn't take offence. "Oh trust me, I would have loved to punch a nose again but you know, too much of an audience." This time a slight evil smile even formed on her lips and even though she tried to suppress it, it was recognisable.

She watched Charles and paid attention to the fists he made. Concentrating, she looked at him and copied him. "Like that?" she asked, holding her fists in front of her body and looking down at them from above. "No knuckles no blood. Got it." Haley made an imaginary note to herself, this tip was definitely helpful. She could still feel the pain from hitting the door and hardly thought she would need those tips again, but you could never be sure.

Haley winced briefly, the punch from Charles came as a surprise and took her by surprise. She looked at her door, which slammed shut with a loud bang. She looked from the door to his fist and back again, no blood. "Say no more." She went through Charles' tips, took a swing and hit the door again. The punch hurt, she couldn't deny that, but not as much as before and at the same time there was no new blood on her hands.

"Not always." She replied briefly to his question. It was pleasant that she didn't have to explain to Charles in any way what was going on and at the same time she least of all wanted him to see this weakness. She wanted to make him proud somehow, like a big brother. " I know!" She said annoyed, but she wasn't annoyed with him, she was annoyed with herself. "But it's hard!" she said now, turning to him and really looking him in the eye for the first time. She couldn't suppress it and tears gathered in her eyes. Super Haley, show some more of that weakness. Ashamed, she looked down at the floor, at her hands on the door. Again she lashed out and hit it hard, cursing, "Damn it!"

Cassie had left the Hospital Wing just in time for dinner. At some point along the way, she'd separated from Little Mx Murder, whom Cassie still couldn't completely figure out, and headed down to where she was situated in the campgrounds.

The international students were organised by school, so Cassie shared her new tempory dorm room with a few other Beauxbatons girls. Despite getting completely dry at the Hospital Wing, Cassie was a little wet by the time she reached her dorm, thanks to the rain. Without an umbrella or wand, her best defence against the rain had been the hood on her coat and her speed as she ran from the safety of the castle to the safety of her cabin. There, she'd grabbed her wand and tucked it into its holster (while she could defend herself - and she was expecting to need to defend herself after the Durmstrang vs Ilvermorny fight at the lake - perfectly well with her fists if needed and preferred not to use magic really, that only worked at a short range) before heading back out in search of food.

She was walking past a closed door, though, when she heard a bang. It sounded like someone had slammed something against the door itself: possibly a fist? Confused, Cassie paused and listened at the door for a few moments. She was surprised to hear the voice of Charles Alluring [@Henry Knight], saying something about... emotions being a weakness? And something about attacks? What's going on? Another BANG, and Cassie decided that enough was enough. She opened the door just in time to see a redhead girl [@Haley Rose] curse, nursing her injured hand. It must have been her who punched the door.

For a moment, Cassie just stood there in silence, drinking in the scene. Obviously, there hadn't been a fight. From what it looked like, Charles was giving this girl... punching lessons? Cassie shut the door behind her and then remembered the girl's bloody knuckles and pulled out her wand. She remembered the first time she'd come to Hogwarts, when she'd ripped up her dress at the Halloween Ball in order to use it as a bandage. Now, she had magic on her side. "Ferula." Nothing happened. Cassie grunted and tried again. "Ferula." This time, a bandage flew from her wand and curled itself (perhaps a little too loosely, but ah well) around the other girl's injury, effectively stopping the bleeding. Then she turned to Charles. "What the heck are you doing?"

Leaning aginest the frame, Charles took in Haley's position. Her stance. He didn't take to pounded that much to realize that she is upset but he questioned if Simon was the cause. Knowing exactly who he'll being throwing into the great lake that visit.

Charles pushed himself off from the door, walking toward Haley with a half smile. Sarcasm. Charles felt proud of the redhead, learning to be a rebel. To walk on the dark side. Charles crossed his arms loosely across his chest as he spoke" darker and darker each time we meet, I'm so proud," the blonde smiled halfway to the girl but through leather jackets and words, he does care for her. Worried about her. About how she is doing and how she is handling her breakup with the pale lad.

Charles drop his arms, slipping his hands into his jean pockets as he cast a look toward Haley and spoke" I could always get Simon into a empty room for you," a smile, a small full one. He would. Course he would punch the kid himself but that isn't important.

Charles slipped his hands from his pockets, he has been waiting to teach the girl how to punch. Showing her then nodding when she did it, noting how fast of a leaner. He sadly, had to learn the hard way to except his knuckles weren't bloody but scraped since punching trees is different than punching noses.

Nodding toward Haley's attempt, smiling at the technique and form. Better than him even when he was learning. Charles placed a hand on her shoulder, squeezing a bit as he spoke"wonderful, to practice the technique try on trees or an mattress so next time you'll be prepared for a nose," Charles smiled at the girl, squeezing her shoulder for a moment more before letting it go with a playful shove.

A step back, allowing her to continue punching the door. The conversation stayed light, questions to ask Haley items that she may not include in letters. Charles eyed the girl as he spoke"not always? I told you to fake it, make him believe that your living your best life while he suffers," Charles look away with a small scoff before glancing back at Haley, his heart couldn't stop beating for her. The blond moved close, placing his hands on her shoulders as he spoke in a low voice, "it's going to hurt, they always do but the best thing we can do is look ahead and find our next thing," Charles would hug her back, arms around her as he spoke"I'm here for you and trust me in a bit you won't feel it anymore and only be filled of power and darkness." A moment. The lad then let go of her, stepping back as he slipped his hands into his pockets.

The blonde asked about her using emotions to empower her, the blonde eyed her as he spoke"it will be diffcult, it takes time but you have to try and then you find putting toward emotions to use to empower you is a simple act," Charles watch her aim for the door. He moved a few steps forward, standing besides her as he spoke"it doesn't look that bad but remember back of the fist and use those emotions to empower the punch," Charles noddes toward Haley then instinctively stepped in front of her when the door opened.

Cassi. Charles took a breath, moving back besides her as he looked at the samll, french girl. Curious how she was there since he thought she was with Archer or Artemis, whichever their fellow Durmstrang went by currently.

When Cassie pulled her wand, Charles took a step in fromt of Haley then heard the bandaging charm. A lool at the girl as he thought what they were doing was obvious as he spoke"teaching Hales here how to punch."

Charles' words repeated in her head. Darker and darker each time we meet. She was surprised by these words and at the same time she didn't know if she should be proud of herself or if she should worry about herself. But a small smile could be detected on her lips. She looked at Charles out of the corner of her eye for a moment and realized that the words made her proud because they came from him. It was like her big brother was proud of her.

"That sounds like a plan. I might need a few more practice sessions before that but then I could beat the crap out of him so it wouldn't hurt me like it did last time." Of course she wouldn't do it, it would be wrong. Or wouldn't it? She felt so much anger that she was afraid she would really do it. But at the same time, she was also the Haley with a kind side. With the light side in her that wouldn't give up without a fight against the dark side in her. The good conscience, the rational thinking and good heart, they were still in her.

But at that moment she was full of ambition, she wanted to recite Charles lessons and implement it better immediately. She didn't care if her hand bled or hurt. She would keep pounding on that stupid wooden door.

"I. Try. It. Yes." after each word she would take another swing and pound on the door. The pain seemed to lessen or her hand lost the sensation of pain. Whichever it was of the two, she didn't care. More anger came up inside her because she wanted to pretend to Simon that she was okay, but it wasn't as easy as it sounded when Charles told her that.

Haley lunged for the next punch, but lowered her hand again when she noticed his hand on her shoulder. She looked at the floor in front of her as he spoke. She hadn't even noticed until then that tears had gathered in her eyes. But she didn't let them fall, she stayed strong and nodded softly at his words. It was when she noticed that he was now hugging her as one single tear dropped down. She was surprised at the same time that Charles showed closeness and emotion and at the same time she immediately felt safe. She reached around his arms and enjoyed this brief moment. She closed her eyes and took one deep breath.

She nodded at him attentively and got ready for the next punch. She wanted to turn her emotions into power, she knew she could. A glance at her fists showed her that she should rather not do it, but she didn't care.

Just as she collected herself, Charles stepped in front of her as the door opened. Confused, Haley looked past Charles, who quickly stepped aside again. It seemed as if the two knew each other, but Haley was unfamiliar with the girl. Completely confused, she watched as she tended to her hands and nodded her thanks, then gave Charles a questioning look.

Haley said nothing, just nodded in agreement with Charles as she looked back and forth between the two.

[quote]She shouldn't have been surprised. It made a stupid kind of sense that one of the first things the only-slightly-less-stupid Charles would do once he got onto United Kingdom soil would be to find some younger kid and get her to punch a door. Cassie leaned back on said door, taking into account the silence of the redhead girl who was apparently Charles' protégée. "Did you know," she began, directing her words towards the girl, "that this idiot you're letting teach you to punch" - she jerked a thumb in the blonde's direction - "is the same idiot who initiated a fight with the Americans basically three seconds after he got here?" Cassie paused for a moment, squinting (a habit that would tell Charles that she was thinking hard). "Speaking of which, I see all your limbs are okay, so well done." This sentence was for Charles' benefit.

Speaking of Charles, Cassie found something deeply wrong with what he was doing. It took her a few seconds to work out what it was, and a moment more to put it into words, but then the Beauxbatons girl was fairly sure she knew what she was saying. "Do you realise what you're doing?" she asked him, then didn't wait for an answer before continuing. "Look, Charlie, it's bad enough that you solve all your problems with your fists. You're gonna make Ms Bloody Knuckles here end up seeing punching as the first option too. It's not."

With the initial admonishments dealt out, Cassie was free to realise that the only person who knew everyone's names in this situation was Charles Alluring. It was time to remedy that. First, though, Cassie moved away from the door and perched herself on a table. Obviously, this room was a classroom that Charles had temporarily taken over. "I'm Cassie. Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin, actually - I have two first names and a double-barreled last name - but most people can't be bothered to say all of it so you can just call me Cassie." Suddenly noticing that she was still holding her wand, Cassie shoved it into the holster at her belt. "I'm basically Charles' mature yet annoying older sister," she told the younger girl, "Except I'm not annoying, I'm younger, and I'm not-" Cassie paused, remembering when, at the Halloween Ball in her second year, Charles had told her he loved her like a sister. "Well, I am kind of his sister, but only symbolically." Thank goodness Cassie had her own wonderful parents rather than Charles' mostly-dysfunctional family. "And I'm not that mature. But, like, I'm more sensible than he is."

Upon seeing Cassie, he relaxed. Standing by Haley's side as he loosely crossed his arms over his chest, the teen eyed the girl for a moment. Listening to her words. As the girl took pauses with her words, he took the moment to jump in as he spoke"I'm not an idiot, " the teen added but knew he kinda was especially when his emotions blinded him.

Three seconds? The teen doubt it was three seconds, he guessed more like three minutes as he spoke"the Americans had it coming, they capsized our boats then some had the neve to insult us," the blonde eyed Cassie already knowing his defensive words weren't going anywhere... he knew the girl... he also knew that she knew how he can be a idiot occasionally and swing a punch or two. That was when emotions filtered his mind and blinded him....

Charles brushed his hair back as he watched the girl think then at the words he squinted his nose and childish stuck out his tongue before speaking"no reason for limbs not to be, Cass," the teen felt his features fade bacl to their neutral look as he watched Cassie, with his gaze occasionally flickering toward Haley to check on her.

"Yes," Charles replied back toward Cassie asking him when he knows what he is doing in a tone that someone annoyed with their sibling would use. Nodding to her words. Not reslly listening but through their years if friendship figured Cassie knew of his habit to half listen, waiting for her to finish before speaking" her name is Haley Rose, not bloody knuckles and I don't solve all my problems with fists... just the easiest way to do it, you know that Cass and she knows that punching isn't the first, I told her just happen to be helping her learn so next time she punches a nose, she isn't hurt." His eyes rested on Cassie, none of anger or annoyance. Rather of a natural tone, explaining to the girl as he watched her movements was occasionally looked over at Haley to check up on her.

When Cassie perched herself on a table, Charles walked over and leaned aginest one himself. Arms crossed loosely as he watched her, the introduction the teen then added"or Cass," a half smile toward the girl as he majority of times classes her Cassie... until he figured out a proper nickname for the girl that was. At mention of Cassie being his mature yet annoying older sister, the blonde let out a small laugh as he looked at her. Waiting to correct herself.. since he held the oldest and tallest titles for their friend group.

Charles smiled playfully as he added, "she id a tad annoying, " the teen then felt the smile fade as he watched the conversation continue. Symbolically sister. That made sense. The teen then heard her mention of beinf sensible, he held his head back brfore looking at the two as he spoke"more sensible? Didn't you question the person I kissed in a spin bottle game endlessly? Definitely more sensible...." the blonde smile a tad to the pair.

Haley knew she shouldn't find it funny that Charles had started a fight shortly after arriving, but she couldn't help but smile. She had heard about the drama, the corridor gossip worked exceptionally well at Hogwarts and it didn't surprise her at all that it was Charles who started it all. "Well, that's exactly why I let him teach it to me." Haley smiled proudly and bit her lip. She knew she probably shouldn't have said that but since it seemed the two were friends, Haley allowed herself that way.

Then the girl spoke directly to Charles and it felt for a moment as if Haley was no longer present at all. Somewhat annoyed, she took a breath and was about to raise an objection when she called Haley Ms bloody Knuckles, but Charles beat her to it and so Haley merely folded her arms in front of her chest. Haley nodded in agreement as Charles spoke, even though no one was paying attention to her, she knew she was still there too. When he remarked that she wasn't hurt she tried not to let on, because correctly she was until the girl did something about it but on balance Haley agreed with him. It wasn't bad, a little blood and a little pain, her hand was worse after breaking Simon's nose.

Suddenly Haley became part of the conversation again and she too walked over to one of the tables and made a little jump and sat down on it. "It's nice to meet you Cassie." Haley smiled at her and since Charles had already told her what her own name was, she saved telling Cassie again. It pleased her to see that Charles had such friends. Symbolically sister, she thought of Cosmo at the words and she knew how great it was to have someone like that by her side. She didn't know much about Charles, but she knew of many fights and difficult times. Somehow it reassured Haley to get to know another side of Charles.

"Well, I used to be more sensitive too." Haley remarked, shrugging her shoulders and puffing contemptuously. "But you know how it is, your heart gets broken and you realise that this sensible is quite annoying. That's how you eventually get lessons like today." Haley looked at Charles with a smirk and winked at him.

[quote]At Charles' defence that the Ilvermorny students deserved the fight, Cassie rolled her eyes. "Their headmaster had it coming," she corrected, referring to the fact that it was presumably Plott who'd given the order to surface before it was actually safe to. "And he had it coming from a court or something, not from you." It didn't look like that was going to happen though. It annoyed Cassie how quickly everyone seemed to have skipped over the event as though the American Headmaster's massive lack of foresight was an easily-forgottern mistake. It had only been a few hours, and yet only a little of the gossip she'd heard in the corridors had been about it. The other girl had obviously heard about the incident, though, and her words just confirmed Cassie's feeling that this was a bad idea. "Yeah, but it's exactly why you shouldn't."

Cassie grinned at the face her friend pulled, and pulled one in return. Even when she was trying to be annoyed at him, Charles could still manage to make Cassie smile.

"Yeah, whatever," Cassie interjected when Charles corrected her in regards to the redhead's name. She would have been nicer about it for 'Haley's sake, but it was annoying that the only thing Charles seemed to have taken from her mini-speech was that- wait, no. He was still talking. Cassie frowned. "She punched a nose?"

Letting out a small chuckle at Charles' reminder, Cassie splayed her palms out as a gesture of innocence. "In my defence, it was my duty as your best friend to make sure he wasn't an idiot. You'd only just met him!" Then she recalled Charles' wording. "Also, 'the person I kissed at the spin bottle game'? He's-" Cassie suddenly realised what she was saying and shut herself up. She'd been about to say 'he's your boyfriend' but she couldn't be sure whether Charles would be ok with her saying that or not. Cassie's friend was out to almost everyone they both knew, but if Haley was the exception Cassie didn't want to betray Charles' trust. She also didn't want to lie, though, and she wanted to make sure Charles and Xeno were okay, so... "You know." Sure, they'd rushed into their relationship pretty quickly - one kiss and suddenly Charles was all 'love you Xe' - but, against all odds, it had lasted. Or, at least, Cassie was pretty sure it had lasted. She didn't see Xeno around school a lot, but wouldn't Charles have said something in his letters if they'd broken up? Long-distance relationships were supposed to be hard to keep up and part of Cassie had kind of expected it happening sooner or later, but it'd suck if she was last to know. "Are you okay?" Maybe right now wasn't the best time for relationship therapy, but Cassie would probably forget if she left it.

"Nice to meet you too," responded Cassie after Haley jumped onto another table. "Is it Haley-Rose as in hyphenated, or Haley Rose as in first name Haley, last name Rose?" Enough people got Cassie's name wrong that she'd grown to make sure she was right before sticking a person in her head under a particular label. "And Haley with or without an 'I'?"

Cassie watched the younger - for she was probably younger - girl almost pityingly as she pushed her shoulders back. Maybe this was an unconscious wish to appear more confident, or maybe it was something she was forcing herself to do, to stand up taller. Either way, Cassie's attention was regained by Haley's words. "When the heck did you get your heart broken?!" she exclaimed, incredulous. "You're, what, eleven?"
