The Dream of the Patronus PV Closed

Upon hearing his own interpretation of Salazar Slytherin, Jacqueline wondered if she could relate to him. No matter how she looked at it she really couldn't, there wasn't enough menace in her heart against other wizards to feel that way. And even though she wasn't a Pureblood herself she had direct lineage to them and her mixed heritage wouldn't stop her from giving due respect to Pureblood wizards. But Jacqueline was too clever for that kind of thing. She wasn't one to be a yes-man but an actual free-thinker who was aware of how dumb it was to call people mudblood because of something they couldn't help. Jacqueline knew she could rival any Pureblood her age as long as she had enough will and skill to do so. Sometimes she wanted to tell Purebloods to stuff it but other times their antics were quite entertaining...when things weren't directed at her.

Asher mentioned that many felt that Slytherin's ended up violent, which she made her smirk. "I can be violent," she murmured, almost inaudibly. She couldn't help but notice his sensitivity to her behavior, especially when her body language should displease. It seemed like the fellow Slytherin was bothered by potentially making someone else uncomfortable or upset in anyway, but wouldn't show it directly, given that he hadn't said anything directly to her yet about it. Maybe she could use that to her advantage at some point. If she remembered.

Asher accepted her challenge but warned her that he wouldn't just let her win. That actually made her happy because Jacqueline definitely didn't like when people lost to her out of sympathy, especially when boys did it. She liked fair play but also tried to make sure she didn't underestimate anyone. She wanted the race to be just for fun but sort of wanted to win. Asher did look like kind of strong and fast though, and she hadn't practiced running that much lately so she knew she would be rusty.

"You better not let me win easily. It'll just show how much superior I am!" And she took off.

Asher turned his head slightly towards Jaqueline when she murmured "I can be violent", making a slight frown but nothing blatantly obvious. He was more just displeased that she was merely feeding into the idea that Slytherin's are violent and evil when he has met many Slytherin's who are kind and caring, they just want to do whatever it takes to reach their goals. However, despite being displeased with her comment Zeph said nothing, he didn't want to ruin a friendship that had only just begun.

When he heard her say to not let her win easily Asher smirked and said "Oh I won't..." but before he could finish his sentence she was off, and she was fast...but not as fast as Asher. He immediately sped up the stairs quickly catching up to her and then eventually passing her, his strong legs and fast pace still somehow existing despite him not running competitively for a few months. He reached the top and leaned against the door frame, a smirk on his face showing off his white teeth while his eyes glittered with success and glory. "I told you I wouldn't let you win easily...now who's 'superior'". He said holding up his hands and making quotation marks in the air.

He let out a small laugh and said "Come on, let's get that letter sent off and see if my mother sent me anything?" He walked into the Owlery and smiled. There were owls of all different colors and shapes flying about with packages, letters, parcels, scrolls, newspapers, and more. He looked around and finally saw his mother's owl, a beautiful gray and black owl holding a small package in its beak. He let out a small whistle and the owl turned its head and swooped down and landed on his arm gently. He took the package from the owl's beak and opened it carefully, giving the owl a few little pellets from his bag. Inside of the small package was a small ring with his family's crest on it and a small note from his mother which read:

"I saved this for when you were ready, and now you are. Regardless of what your house could have been, you are a part of the Zephyr family and lineage, and no matter what you will always be loved. Wear this every day on your ring finger and keep it in your care. Let NO ONE take it off your hand and let it serve as a reminder of the strong family you come from and are a part of. I am so pleased with you Asher...and so are your father and older brothers. You are doing the house of Slytherin and Zephyr proud.
Love, Mother"

Asher looked at the ring and immediately put it on. After that he took out a piece of parchment from his bag and wrote a quick letter back to his mother which read:

"I am now wearing the ring and will never take it off, I will do the house of Slytherin and our family proud."
I love you all, Zeph"

He gave the owl, whose name was Alvis for the wise, a few more pellets and gave him a little head rub, smiling at the tiny coos that the owl let out before handing him the letter and saying "Bring this back to my mother please, and have safe travels..." He moved his arm slightly and before he knew it Alvis was flying out of the Owlery and on his way to his home. Asher smiled and looked down at his ring, feeling happy.
