Long Awaited Departure
Black Dark Martins made a satisfying clacking sound on the station floor as Nerium pushed a cart towards the station a soft smile on their face. They’d be waiting to leave for Hogwarts for awhile, not just since they’d turned 11 but since their father passed and Neri was promptly wisked into the muggle world.
They didn’t hate muggle life- far from it. But the strangely mundane parts of the magical world had always been a comfort for Nerium…being surrounded by it once again was a thrilling experience. They felt a bit…lost among the intimidating crowd of children of varying ages dressed in house colours.
House colours…Nerium wore neutrals today. If it appeared they favored any one house and ended up in another their house members might hate them. However their green hair sat an rats nest on their head as it always did. Neri had nothing against Slytherin but they knew it was an unlikely option. They had no interest in being the greatest- plus being an muggle raised half blood…best not think too hard about blood status.
They swarmed the young child in droves followed by families bidding farewell, their foster family had been kind enough to drop them off at the station but had quickly exited, too busy to care all that terribly. Nerium understood that. It was understandable.
Before they could spiral too much into the mess that was their head Nerium headed to get their luggage sent though into the cargo car keeping a worn cloth messenger bag they’d used for school for awhile now slung over their shoulder nervously rubbing one of the sewn on patches.
Nerium took a deep breath and entered the train. All would be fine. It always was.
