As she entered, she decided to have fun. She wouldn't get anxious and freak out like she always did. Instead, she would grab a drink, walk around and see if she could get to talk to-

Delphinia had a hopeless crush on this girl, and she wasn't afraid to admit it. At least in her head. Her mouth was staying shut when it came to this subject. Okay, try not to panic. She told herself, though she was already panicking and it was far too late to tell herself not to. She took a breath, gripped her drink harder, and walked over slowly. As she approached, she noticed Samantha looked upset about something. "Sam!" She greeted her joyfully, stepping up behind her.

@Haley RoseAs Hiro waved to her and called her over to join him and a few other students, including Luca, and his date, Haley Rose, Bailey smiled. Now I have people to talk too. It’s too bad that James had to leave. Haley and Luca were a cute couple, and Bailey loved to see it. It made her feel better that other younger students were at the ball with a date and that she and James had not been the only ones.
When everyone was gathered around Hiro, he introduced himself and said that it was nice to meet them. He then asked for their names and Bailey obliged. “My name is Bailey Glade, though I know a few of us have met before. It really nice to meet you if we haven’t before.”
Smiling, Bailey listened as everyone else introduced themselves. It looked like she had made some new friends. If only James was here… Bailey thought, as her smile slipped a bit. Worries about James swirled around her head, and she then realized that. Pulling her mind from those thoughts, she asked everyone “So… how has the ball gone for you guys so far tonight? Have you had fun?”
Looking around, Bailey saw a boy vomiting slugs while his date, Clair Fernandez stood next to him. Feeling sorry for Clair, Bailey waved to her and cast her a sympathetic smile.Word count: 240 ish

Punctuality was a complex concept for the former prefect to grasp. Time had never been friendly to Mr. Warren, and he was very aware that sometimes he just got caught up with other things. It was a terrible habit, but the boy never really cared to break it. Maybe one day he would, but until that point, he'd just call it a personality quirk.
The Samhain ball was interesting, but honestly, Jack showed up so late that most exciting things were already in full swing. Of course, he had felt no need to step in and help because of that. This time, however, was going to be different. He was going to dance with Dee if it freakin' killed him. A small fraction of Jack's ego was bruised from the Valentine's day tea party. Jack hadn't talked to Jake that much since that day because, honestly, he was still pretty upset about the whole ordeal. The boy understood what happened, and it wasn't anybody's fault. But that didn't mean he wasn't still butt hurt about it.
Pushing those thoughts of Valentine's day aside, Jack adjusted his purple and black suit. He had decided to go all out with a new look for this little soiree. So, out of habit, the teenager pulled his skinny fingers through what used to be a lush forest of thick hair. Yet he could only feel a slight itch on the crown of his head and the prickliness of freshly shaved hair against the pads of his fingers. So why had Jack decided to remove all of his precious and luscious hair? There was only one reason. He didn't want it anymore. But, of course, the decision was fickle and half-baked, as most ideas born from the undercooked potato that was Jack's brain. But, hey, spontaneity can be fun, right?
Upon finally entering the great hall, the tall boy could stop touching his head and readjusting his whole outfit. There was an electric excitement that shot from the tips of his toes through his legs, chest, and arms. Maybe it was just the fact that he got to hang out with the very cute Dee. Who knows?
Students filled the room to the brim, like a school of fish, mingling and dancing. Of course, the room was buzzing with drama, but Jack honestly couldn't tell what was happening, so instead, the boy just strutted his stuff further into the masses. His eyes were up and alive, looking for his date. It took several passes through the hall until Jack found the shimmering dress of pastel skies. "Dee!" The boy raised his hand and bellowed out Dealla's name before pushing his way toward his date. "Guess I was right on time! Don't you think?" His grin spread across his face as he spoke ironically, stopping in front of Dee. "You look absolutely stunnin'!"

Kim could feel Gem's fingers digging into his arm.
He could tell she was nervous, that much was obvious from the way she was acting right now.
But hey, Kim was the one who should be like this, not his date! Or did Gem have the same condition that he had too? He'd have to ask her about that later on.
Kim didn't say a word to Gem about any of this, he would simply proceed as if nothing was wrong. If it gave her peace of mind to clutch him like this, that was what he would give her! It was only when they'd made their way over to the potluck table and he'd asked what she wanted to try out of the food that he realized her true state. Gem really wasn't comfortable now and looked a bit out of it. But what was the reason behind this state of mind for the girl?
Was it being dressed up like this?
Going to the ball with him on a date? Or the crowds in general?
Perhaps all of the above?
Kim picked up a toothpick, he'd brought a set of them and placed them inside the chicken container, and stabbed a piece of poached pear. Then, he turned over to present it to his date with a smile. "Open your mouth!" Kim said with a grin, teasing her a little. Well, technically he wasn't teasing her because he really was going to feed her the tidbit. It was around this time that he heard his name being yelled out a short distance away from them.
He glanced back over his shoulder and saw a familiar face coming towards him. Scratch that, two familiar faces. "Sage. Sophia." Kim said, greeting them. The boy's eyes swept over Sophia's lovely green dress and noted the absence of any kind of accessories. Well, that was perfect. He'd wondered whether Sophia would accept his gifts if she was already wearing some. But now it was official, she didn't have any, which was great! So his would come in use.
They weren't nearly up to the same level as the necklace he'd given Gem.
But they were still pretty trinkets.
"This is my date, Gemima." Kim said, introducing the girl by her full first name. It sounded weird for him to call her this but he couldn't very well go around saying she was Precious. And she'd said only her friends could call her Gem. He didn't want to assume she was fine with being called that by people she didn't know yet. As Sophia seemed to opt for the elegant and sophisticated approach, Kim raised a brow. Was Sophia trying to do something?
Ahhh, first impressions.
Kim tried to hide a grin that threatened to appear on his face.
With Sophia trying so hard to portray an impression that wasn't herself, it made him want to play a little prank on her. It would be a relatively harmless one.
No permanent damage would be done because he didn't want to hurt her and she could instantly be 'cured' by the higher-years at the healing tent over to the side. This prank would simply be to show his date how cute and adorable Sophia really was when she was being herself. Kim reached into his right inner pocket and produced something wrapped in tissue paper. "Here. I made these awhile ago and thought they would probably look good on you. Hope you like them." He told her and offered Sophia the contents, which when unwrapped would reveal themselves to be a small green necklace and a set of earrings.
It was around this time that Kim noticed the food on Sophia's left cheek.
A smirk came to his lips.
"I see you were just eating before. Was it delicious?" Kim asked with an arched brow and leaned forward to place his thumb up against Sophia's cheek.
He wiped the smear away and then licked his thumb clean. "Mm. Berry." Kim remarked. "Ah, I brought some yakitori chicken skewers and poached pears if you guys want to have some. The latter actually is good for when you're sick, especially with coughs or sore throats. It's a really healthy alternative for desserts." He turned around and rummaged inside his satchel for something, which he eventually found.
And then he took out the nose-biting teacup from his right inner pocket as well. Kim turned back around to face Sophia. "You want something to drink? Here, let me get some for you." He said and filled the teacup with liquid from the potluck table. Kim placed a chocolate frog on top of the item and then handed it over to Sophia. This would be rather amusing to witness. Would she shriek? He schooled his expression well and nudged Gem.
"Watch this. This is what she's really like." Kim whispered to his date.

Mikael stared down at the brown-haired boy like a moth to light. It was not until he heard someone speak up to his side that he snapped out of his own thoughts. Mikael turned his gaze down towards the shorter boy. The boy felt a frown cross his features at the other's blunt tone. This boy did not seem to be scared. Though, the other's mask made it difficult to read the other's facial expression. Mikael frowned at that. Masks did make it difficult. The boy hardly noticed when the brown-haired boy had left the area. Too focused on the blunt edge of the masked boy's voice. Such dull words would cut into skin harshly and painfully. If Mikael had any care he would find himself bleeding.
"Need something..." he would repeat his brows furrowing ever so slightly. What exactly did he need? To create chaos that Yefim would find grand? To finally feel whole again in the warmth of Yefim's praise? The boy felt the faintest of smiles cross his features ever so slightly. Chaos and Yefim. Two things that seemed to mold together perfectly. Mikael would stand up tall before frowning down at the masked rabbit boy. "Do you think a rabbit will give you luck? To hide behind?" he asked his hand reaching for his wand. "Yefim requested chaos. Yefim must get what he wants. I will give him everything. Everything will burn." he said his tone holding a final note to it.
In truth, that was all he was. A mere tool for Yefim to use in order to garner the things he required. Was he the mere fork used to bring chaos up to Yefim's lips until he was sated? The boy would hardly notice Valentin running towards him. Though, if he had he wouldn't be too sure if he should feel safety or urgency. Mikael gritted his teeth as he pointed his wand at Selim. "Incendio!" he would call out quickly.

Sophia accepted the tissue paper with her head tilted in confusion. Kim made her a gift? Was that normal? Was she supposed to bring something too? Now she felt horrible, but with his eyes on her expectantly, she couldn't just stew in her own thoughts for long. He wanted her to open the gift, so she unwrapped the paper and gasped, almost dropping the thoughtful gift as she covered her mouth.
The thing about Sophia when going to any social event, even as a child with her parents, was that she had to put on a mask. Every time. She was normally a very awkward, excitable, clumsy young lady, but when she went to Easter Mass with her mom and daddy, she would throw up a metaphorical dam to hold back the torrential burst of actions and emotions she would normally allow to roam free. This dam was strong. It could hold back tons and tons of pressure from her urges to shout, and run, and play.
Today, there was a single crack in the dam.
Sophia stared wordlessly at the gift, holding up the necklace a few inches from her face. Wasn't gifting jewelry supposed to be a romantic thing? She knew that when her mom used to be mad at her daddy, he would always give her jewelry, but that didn't mean anything, did it? No. No no no. Surely not.
After all, Kim had a date. There was a word in the muggle world for people who would bring a date somewhere and flirt with someone else, and Kim certainly wasn't a 'player.' Knowing him, he was probably just trying to tear down her facade. He wasn't exactly opposed to mischief himself.
Sophia felt her face redden just a bit regardless, but it wasn't unpleasantly warm, so she just played it off and coughed into her hand a bit to cover her blunder up.
"Thank you so much, Kim. It's beautiful," she said, before examining the earrings, "And these earrings! I don't know how you managed to match my dress, but thank you. Seriously."
She moved on from her silly little thought of Kim being a player and put the necklace on, tucking it gently under her hair. Thankfully, her ears had been pierced since her Christening as a child, so that wasn't a problem. She turned to Sage and smiled.
"How does it look?" she asked, wanting a girl's opinion. Plus, despite knowing better, she still felt a little embarrassed looking Kim in the eye.
"I see you were just eating before. Was it delicious?" Kim commented, and Sophia's heart froze at the implication. Her fears were confirmed when she felt the tall boy's thumb on her cheek. Oh no. She winced internally when she saw the berry filling from early on his fingertip.
There goes my pride, she thought with a frown, glancing back to Sage and hoping the girl hadn't noticed it. Maybe Sophia could still save face here!
"Uh, um, y-yep. It was q-quite delicious. S-Sage and I decided to, uh, to help ourselves to a snack before we checked out the, um, the Goblet."
Then, she realized that Kim was well aware of how to push her buttons as he brought his thumb to his mouth and licked it clean. Oh no. Her dam of inhibition exhibited another crack, larger and more cascading than the last.
"Is Kim a player?" she whispered to herself, trying to hold back a panicked squeak as she slowly began to become a flustered mess. This wasn't even a big deal. It was no different than when he'd snatched the chocolate frog on the Hogwarts Express. She knew she was overthinking things, but she couldn't stop. She'd seen enough romance movies in her time. KIM WAS HITTING ON HER IN FRONT OF HIS DATE! WHAT COULD SHE DO ABOUT IT!?
She was distracted as Kim finally addressed the group again, offering some of his - frankly delicious looking - food. She was tempted to shove her mouth full of the stuff to keep herself from talking or saying something stupid, but she didn't. She didn't know if she could manage it, as her metaphorical dam was in a horrible state, and the slightest mishap could cause it to crumble at this point.
She almost missed Kim rummaging through his pockets, because she was so caught up in trying to find ways to let him down gently. She was young. She wasn't interested in that kind of thing. He was like a brother.
No no no no no no no. These were awful. She'd just hurt his feelings.
Wait. What about Gem's feelings? She was here on a date with Kim. Surely she was noticing this whole situation? Oh no. The poor girl!
Still, there was a nagging thought in the back of Sophia's head that things weren't as she believed.
Suddenly, Kim offered her a teacup with a chocolate frog balanced atop the tiny cup.
Oh. That was it. Kim was trying to distract her so that he could prank her with a chocolate frog. He thought she was naive enough to be flustered by something as simple as a chocolate frog after most of a year at Hogwarts? Pfft. She ate chocolate frogs for breakfast. Literally.
Her blush finally settled down as the realization caught up to her. She smirked at Kim.
"Oh, Kim," she said, smiling knowingly at Sage and Kim as she grabbed the little frog with her thumb and forefinger and dropped it into her mouth. She chewed slowly, elegantly, finally regaining her composure.
"You were pranking me with a chocolate frog?" she asked, smirk intensifying, "I've made skeleton key chains dance in Charms class. This is nothing. Silly, silly Kim."
She chewed the frog smugly and her smirk softened into a smile, "But thank you for the drink."
She brought the small teacup to her lips and tilted it, expecting the delicious arrival of, well, some form of drink in her mouth. And she wasn't disappointed. The cold liquid soothingly washed the chocolate down her throat, but then something unexpected happened.
Sophia's perception of time slowed as she felt the teacup shift in her grasp. It was enchanted!
She imagined a loud crunch as she felt the teacup close around her nose with what felt like razor sharp fangs. There was a moment of silence similar to the one that occurred when a toddler fell and no one was sure if they were going to cry or keep playing. Unfortunately for Sophia, she was the toddler in this situation.
At first, her eyes watered a bit but that was it. It didn't hurt too terribly much, but, like with the toddler in the metaphor, the knowledge that this teacup was biting her nose scared her more than anything. She tried so, so hard to hold onto her composure, but this was it. The crack that would destroy the infrastructure of her metaphorical dam. All of her personality was now free to burst free from the shattered structure.
"GAH!" she squealed loudly as she tugged frantically on the teacup, but it just wouldn't let go. She pulled and pulled and pulled some more, but she couldn't make it budge. Oh no. Was it going to be there forever? Tears started rolling freely down her eyes as she panted in exertion from trying to use her limited strength to either pull it off or break it.
She turned to Kim and every bit of elegance and poise was gone. Her face was the picture of desperation, and she wanted to beg Kim to take the teacup off of her nose, but she was already embarrassed enough in front of him, so she instead turned to Sage.
"What do I do, Sage?" she asked desperately, "What do I do? WHAT DO I DO!?"

As she chewed, the familiar, comforting flavors of fragrant ginger, sweet pear, tart honey, and spicy peppercorns coalesced on her tongue. She sighed, and swallowed. A wave of calm washed over her, quieting the manic buzzing in her head for the time being.
Just then, she heard footsteps approaching. Gem looked round to see two girls come trotting up to them. She recognized one as Sophia, the girl she'd first met in the Owlrey at the start of the school year. They'd remained on good terms since, but they hadn't talked much since then. Busywork and all that, she supposed. Maybe tonight would be prime for catching up!
The other girl, however, wasn't familiar. She was probably a first year too, by the looks of her. And she was tall! But then again, Gem was used to being the shortest one in the room. The girl was wearing an outfit that Gem would have considered much too casual for a ball, but at this point, she was far more concerned about meeting new people. Each to their own, anyway.
"This is my date, Gemima." Kim said, gesturing to her. The girl in question straightened and awkwardly copied Sophia's curtsy. "It's lovely to see you again, Sophia,"
She nodded to the taller girl. "And it's a pleasure to meet you." she said softly, finally remembering her manners.
Before she could get the other girl's name, Kim stepped forward. He presented Sophia with a matching set of earrings and a necklace, which matched her green dress.
Gem looked up at him in silent awe. How much talent did her friend possess?
But then he swiped a bit of red filling off of Sophia's cheek, and put it in his own mouth.
Gemima wrinkled her nose, both in confusion and the slightest bit of disgust. She couldn't tell if Kim was actually that shameless with his affections, or if he was just too stupid to notice the effects of his actions.
Whatever the case, he couldn't go around toying with girls' hearts like that! Poor Sophia was already starting to look really flustered.
But before Gem could say anything, Kim pulled out a teacup from one of his suit pockets. She recognized it instantly as one of the nose-biting variety. It was one of her older sister's favorite wizarding products.
Kim handed the nefarious cup to Sophia. Then he leaned over to whisper in Gemima's ear, "Watch this. This is what she's really like."
Gem’s brow furrowed. "What do you mean--"
"GAH!!"
Gem whirled back around to see Sophia frantically tugging at the teacup, which had latched firmly onto her nose. Wherever Cath was right now, Gemima had no doubt that she'd be encouraging the situation.
But Gem didn't. She stared openmouthed at the boy next to her, and smacked him on the arm."Kim! Come on." she scolded, and then hurried over to help the struggling redhead.
Gemima gently placed a hand on Sophia's shoulder. Is she crying?
"Hold still," she soothed. "Maybe I can try and pry it off." At least, she hoped she could. Maybe it was one of those items that could only be reeled back in by the prankster.【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】Interacting: @Kim Sato | @Sophia Nelson | @Sage Lilly

Finally spotted @Jack Warren~
Open to interactions.
Finding Jack turned out to be easier said than done, and after a few minutes of trying to catch glimpses in between taller students and failing to spot him, Dee began to suspect that it was because Jack simply wasn't here yet. Which wouldn't be out of character. It wasn't terribly late yet, either, but Dee also wasn't the most patient person there ever was, and the noise and the excitement from inside the great hall had an almost irresistible pull on her.
So with every passing minute, Dee inched another step into the crowd, curiosity tugging her along. There did seem to be a sign-up for some sort of game or two that would start later tonight, and Dee had half a mind to just go explore and find Jack later. Or... more than half. Pouting slightly, she brushed a strand of hair out of her face, one of those that just would not stay tucked behind her ear no matter how often she tried, and took another turn around herself, before deciding that she was already in the middle of the crowd at this point, so there was no use in pretending that she'd been waiting. Jack would find her.
Greeting a few familiar faces here and there, her steps took her over to the sign-up sheets first, although she got momentarily distracted by scents emanating from the potluck table. She hadn't brought anything herself, but her resolve to stay away from the food tonight was crumbling as fast as it had come.
Firewalking or Flying Torch Tag, well, that was an obvious choice if ever she'd seen one. Threatening her with having to ride a broom might have been the one way to actually get her to skip a competition. Humming, she signed her name on the sheet for the obstacle course, already glad for her sensible shoe choice. After a moment's hesitation, she added Jack's name beneath her own. Clearly, the fact that he was late meant that he had relinquished his right to make decisions to her.
Done with that, she finally heard her name in a familiar voice, shouted above the general noise, and Dee's face lit up in a bright smile as she turned, a response already on her tongue. "Right on time, my-" She stopped, staring, when her eyes finally fixed on Jack. Quite possible that she had actually seen him already earlier. She just hadn't realised, because all his hair was gone.
Dazed, speechless for once, Dee took a step closer, then another one, and raised her hand, reaching for Jack's head as if to make sure what she was seeing was real. Pat. Pat. She could feel the short stubble poking against her fingers. Yep, definitely gone.
Blinking herself out of her stupor, Dee looked up at Jack, her hand still on his head, then grinned. "Nice haircut. Did you get gum stuck in your hair or something? You're lucky it doesn't make you look like a potato." Kind of suited him, actually, but she'd keep that part quiet for the moment.

It seemed like Sophia liked the trinkets.
Well, that was good!
It had been a stroke of luck that they had matched her outfit for the ball. He'd thought green would go good with anything and it just so happened that Sophia had been wearing a green dress! The girl then mentioned she and Sage had indulged in a little snack before and Kim wondered what kind of snack it had been. He might want some too! Berries and fruit were quite tasty and went really well with cooking and baking. Sophia's cheeks had turned reddish.
And Kim wondered if that was all it took to get her flustered. He should teach her some tricks on how to not let things bother her, but then again it was kind of cute how she acted like this. Of course, he wasn't into her in that way, due to certain reasons. But it wasn't as if she knew this. With the arrival of the chocolate frog perched on top of the teacup, Sophia's color faded as if she'd finally realized his intentions. She tried to return to her elegant facade once again.
Only to discover she'd been duped by a red herring.
The squeal she let out had made him almost choke on his drink.
He'd picked one up a second ago. As she turned her desperate face towards him, Kim was about to tell her how to get it off when she turned around to Sage and asked for help in getting it off her nose. And then Gem smacked his arm and hurried over to help the girl.
Kim's intentions had ulterior motives.
That much was true.
But it wasn't as if he was intentionally trying to flirt with others.
He had no interest in truly doing so. Right now, all that was on his mind was to learn as much as he could at Hogwarts, become a good duelist and make powerful connections. Tonight, his goal was to simply distract and fluster his target, so that their guard would lower. It seemed as if he'd been successful in that regard. Of course, he'd apologize later on, but for now he'd enjoy her reaction. Plus, he had another prank he wanted to pull off at the ball, a good one.
One that would have nothing to do with the three girls gathered around him right now.
But therein lay the problem.
Kim didn't want anyone to know the one responsible for the prank was him.
How to pull that off? Well, he'd need to be left on his own for a time.
And then the answer dawned on him.
He walked over to the small group, where Sophia, Sage and Gem were busy trying to pry the nose-biting teacup off the former girl's nose. Kim cleared his throat a little.
"Will you excuse me for a moment? I think someone brought a cat into the room and I forgot my allergy pill back at the dorms." Kim said, giving an excuse as to why he was going to temporarily leave. "I won't be too long, give me a few minutes and I'll be back before you know it." He told the girls and nodded over at the healer's tent. "You can go over there and get one of the higher-years to help you get the teacup off."
Kim suggested with a faint twitch of his lips.
And then, he left.
Once he was out of sight of the small group, Kim made a detour and took out a special prank item from his satchel. It was a bunch of exploding bon-bons, a set of 10 of them.
Carefully looking around him, Kim searched for the best places to place them. At the moment, no one seemed to be paying attention to him as they were all in their own little groups, or busy with food fights, improptu duels or other drama. He placed one near the middle of each of the tables of the five schools present, making sure the item was nestled safely out of vision range. And now there were five left for him to place elsewhere. Where?
Where should they go? Kim moved across the dance floor, letting his eyes flicker around the area. He noticed a few familiar faces and a bunch of unfamiliar ones. Some of the events going on were quite interesting to witness. But Kim made sure to stay out of range of the large crowds. He didn't want to get squeezed and pushed around, that was something he would avoid at all costs. Ah, there. Kim placed a bonbon near the door that led outside.
Those leaving the Great Hall to go to the festivities would be required to leave through those doors. It would be hilarious if it exploded when someone was trying to leave.
Four more.
Right. The Goblet of Fire. That was an important location.
Kim crept closer to the area and subtly placed a bonbon at the foot of the goblet, when no one was watching him. Three to go. Now where? Perhaps he'd place one near some of the crowds.
He continued to wander through the crowds of people, making sure to never get caught between anyone. And placed a bonbon near a group of Koldovstoretz students and also near a duel that some Durmstrang students were involved in. Now he had one left and this one he tossed into the middle of the dance floor. Finished with his elaborate prank, Kim headed back to the potluck table, although made a slight detour to the healer's tent to check up on Sophia.
Time to apologize!
Now, where were they?

Midspring Celebration
“Gemima, is it? I’m Sage,” greeted the lanky girl with a warm smile. Though the smile froze when Sophia gave her own introductions. Eh? What is this silly goose up to, now, ‘onshontay’-ing with a curtsey? She was confused, that wasn’t like Sophia at all - ah, was that the point? The taller girl gave a quiet chuckle. Alright, she’ll play along, too.
“Kim isn’t giving you a hard time, is he?” Sage winked at Kim’s pretty date. It was unlikely that she’d been an unwilling participant, though she seemed a little out of sorts, probably just Sage’s imagination taking flight, though.
Kim fetched something from his pocket, offering it to Sophia. She watched the exchange curiously, her eyes widening when jewellery twinkled at her from the palm of his hand. What was the occasion? She knew Kim came from wealth, but hadn’t known he personally made these precious stones and gifted them to people. Sage’s impression of Kim softened, then.
Sophia seemed to appreciate the gift, however.
“Oh, it looks great!” She really didn’t have a sense for these things, but she did notice the trinkets enhanced Sophia’s looks without being too gaudy. If anything, her redheaded friend had a certain glow about her now. Good on you, Kim! Sage mentally lauded the boy.
– only to take it back in the next moment.
Dumbfounded, she watched as Kim pulled his charms on Sophia, openly flirting right in front of his date. She cast a worried look at Gemima, wondering what she might think of this. Was this normal behaviour for an 11-year old boy to have? Was he even aware of it? Sage didn’t think so, seeing him slip into his habit of giving out information.
“Hey, that was-” Sage began but Kim wasn’t done being charming yet, it would seem.
Kim acquired a teacup from one of his many pockets. It had a chocolate frog on it, which jogged pleasant memories of the trio’s first meeting. What was the boy playing at? Sage could only scratch her cheek in mild confusion. Another gift, perhaps.
Sophia was an expert chocolate frog devourer now, that much was clear as she ate the sweet in one fell swoop and washed it down like a champion.
"GAH!"
Startled, the brunette whirled around to check on Sophia. Merlin’s beard, the teacup had latched onto the girl’s nose! A bubble of laughter threatened to escape her lips, but then she saw a tear glistening on the redhead’s cheek.
That was it.
“Kim! You little snot!” Filled with righteous anger, Sage glared at her housemate. He’ll be sure to get it from her before the night is over. But first, she’s got to help Sophia with the cup. But how? The more the girl tugged at it, the harder it seemed to clamp down onto her nose. Sage could only hope it didn’t hurt.
"Hold still," Gemima, the kind soul, came over trying to comfort Sophia. "Maybe I can try and pry it off."
“Soph, don’t worry, we’ll get that off in a jiff.” Supporting her friend, Sage fussed with the cup, trying to see where the girl’s nose and fine china met. The area was beginning to redden slightly. Force wasn’t the answer.
"Will you excuse me for a moment? I think someone brought a cat into the room and I forgot my allergy pill back at the dorms."
“Oh no, you don’t.”
"I won't be too long, give me a few minutes and I'll be back before you know it."
“Wait, undo this, right now!” The dolt was trying to escape! She would grab him by the collar and drag him back if she had to but he was quickly inching away. Besides, Sophia came first.
"You can go over there and get one of the higher-years to help you get the teacup off." Kim had nodded towards the direction of the healer's tent. Feeling helpful, now, is he?
“Come back here, you arse!” Sage yelled after him but he had already left their side, off to Merlin knows where.
“It’ll be okay, Soph. We’ll take you to the healers. They’ll set you right.”
Sage nodded at Gemima, silently grateful for her calm presence. With careful steps, the taller girl began to cart them off towards the Healing Corner.
