Simon came to where a corridor came to an intersection and paused there on the Second Floor of the castle. The Study Rooms were over one way, a couple classrooms on the other. These were places that were now pretty well known to him. Partial reason was because he was in his Second Year now at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and he had roamed these corridors daily, but another was after being selected Prefect, he now roamed these corridors on a more frequent basis.
In this moment, he was heading down the Second Floor corridors after retrieving a notebook that he had left in a Classroom after meeting with a few others on a group project in History of Magic. Crazy the fact that he'd leave it behind now that he had his enchanted satchel which could truly fit ALL of his school supplies into one place. He had gotten distracted though and had rushed out after their meeting was over, leaving the bound pages of paper abandoned. Luckily it still was there when he went to retrieve it and it was now safely inside the previously mentioned enchanted satchel.
"Good day, Griffin. Alice," he announced as he passed a particular portrait and tipped his imaginary hat to it as he then presented what was like a bow. He then glanced up and smiled to a couple that was painted in a field of flowers, finding shade below a tree and seated upon a blanket for a midafternoon picnic. That couple always seemed to find themselves doing something new and Simon should take a few pointers for future date ideas of his own.

Soon to meet up with @Juniper Evans

Lost and Found
On the very same floor happened to be a rather unremarkable young girl who pushed up her spectacles and harried along until she came to a door she didn't quite recognise. Everything was so hard to find in such a huge castle, and having been here for less than a year Juniper didn't quite have the familiarity that the Hufflepuff student along the way did. It wasn't entirely a bad thing; in her verdant eyes it meant that there was always something new to discover and learn about. Although, perhaps that said more about her forgetful and somewhat clumsy nature than her curiousity as a whole...@Simon Kincaid
As of yet she'd not been successful in finding where she wanted to go but as fortune would have it, this was a free period and Charms wasn't for a little while yet. So adventure on she did, certain that eventually she might find the right place. A hand pressed against a door, and pushed ever so slightly to the creaking of ancient hinges... ah, peering inside, that seemed to be the abandoned toilets. Best not to go in there. Taking a step back, Juniper took a moment to contemplate what that might have meant for her position in the castle...
She had no idea what that meant.
Sighing through her nose and chewing on the corner of her lip, she'd look around. There was always the option of directly asking the portraits, but that felt weird compared to seeking help from the boy nearby. He didn't look too much older than her - if at all - so perhaps this was a solid lead? Oh, but he seemed to be pre-occupied and she'd scarcely want to interrupt his trip through the corridor...
For a few small moments Juniper peered at Simon unwaveringly, though her body didn't move as the small eleven-year-old Gryffindor froze on the spot. Social interaction was never her strong suite.

@Introductions to @Juniper Evans
Simon heard the creaking of the door to the Abandoned Toilets and paused. Most avoided the place, and the few that usually frequented it either were doing one of two things: 1) attempting to cause trouble, or 2) needing a place to get out their frustrations, usually through tears. Either way, Simon felt he couldn't just abandon his post of Prefect and walk away without investigating.
He headed down the corridor where he came upon the other student and greeted her with a wide, kind smile. "Hey there," he said, figuring she didn't look like one to cause trouble. Then again, what did he know just based on appearances? His best friend Clair Fernandez didn't look like trouble either and yet she was a spitfire.
"You alright?" he asked, hoping that he wasn't prying too much with his asking. Still, if she was wanting the Study Rooms, she'd have to go the other way and he could help her and maybe, just maybe, if she was sad and needing a place to get hold of her emotions he could help with that too. Simon didn't figure that maybe she was just lost. "I mean, I don't mean to pry but if you should need some help, I'm here. Simon, by the way. Simon Kincaid," he held his hand out toward her, hoping she didn't think him too strange to just up and approach her like this.

@Simon Kincaid
At first she didn't register that the Prefect was approaching her rather than descending the corridor to go on his way, so when he stopped and addressed her the skittish Gryffindor couldn't help but jump just a little out of her skin, forest-green orbs looking up at him innocently whilst her lips pursed. She wasn't purposefully trying to cause trouble or anything - what if that's what this student thought? Pushing her overthinking aside for a moment, Juniper would take a moment to register his words and clear her throat, speaking in her own time.
"S-sorry, um," Wait, why was she apologising? Now she just felt utterly daft. Swallowing her fears of interacting with others, the introverted first-year rose her chin proper and tried to speak with some measure of calm. "I'm alright- just... a bit lost, if I'm honest," She would explain, reaching up to push the spectacles resting on her nose up a little more. "I was actually trying to find the Charms classroom in advance, but I'm a little clumsy with directions."
Then realising she hadn't introduced herself either, she'd force out an introduction of her own. "I'm Juniper, by the way- Juniper Evans. It's nice to meet you Simon," Her hand reaching out to take his and shake it, the grip of her own hand likely rather delicate compared to his own. "I've not really made a lot of friends here yet so it's been difficult to navigate on my own. Usually I'd have my brothers or my dad to help me but all of my siblings are in older year groups so... it's just me," She explained with the most sheepish of breathed laughs.

@Showing @Juniper Evans around
"Ah, well, Juniper Evans, such a pleasure. Let me introduce and welcome you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," he said as he smiled and playfully began his little act at tour guide. He liked when he was tour guide because it gave the students important information but without sounding as if he thought he knew everything. One could look at his grades and know that certainly wasn't the case.
"Founded in the 10th Century in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, Hogwarts sought to educate young witches and wizards of the United Kingdom and surrounding areas. Within the castle, you'll find many elements of Gothic architecture such as lancet windows, spired towers, pointed arches, and lofty interiors. Currently, we are standing in one of the Corridors on the Second Floor of the Castle. Our next destination will be the Charms Classroom, located on the Third Floor."
Okay, maybe he was taking it a little too far now with the architectural features but he had read about it recently and had wanted to slip that into a conversation and he smiled now that he was able to. "Come on, I'll take you there," he said, dropping the 'professionalism' of his little act just now.
"If you ever think Hogwarts messes with your head and is hard to navigate your way around, you're just the normal population within Hogwarts. Does it to all of us. It gets better as time goes on, but I wouldn't doubt if this castle itself doesn't have some form of magic within it. I'm almost sure it does."
"We'll go down this corridor, turn left, and find a staircase that'll bring us to the Third Floor, just short of the Charms room. I can help you get back to the Common Room then if you'd like," he said as he glanced down to her Hufflepuff colors. "Or wherever else you were going."
Simon smiled a lot, but only due to his friendly demeanor. He wasn't ever trying to poke fun at the girl for being lost. Never was he like that.
