PLEASE NOTE: This is a detention thread but only the following students need to complete the required word count: @Jack Burnett, @Hanako Tone, and @Draven Mirador

Anyone else tagged is a welcomed guest to Orion's Teddy Bear tea party, and the three of them are to serve them. Keep in mind that Orion will be present and if you misbehave you are on track to be a butler for the next dang tea party. BEHAVE!
Guests: @Flash Holmwood, @Percival Gray, @Aurora Ranvier, @Willow Anderson, @Clair Fernandez, @Lizzy Solace, and @Opeila Winters (@Erin Ryan is also welcome to come because I enjoy tormenting Jack).
The detention recipients were to arrive first. A group of three rowdy boys who did not know how to behave like proper gentlemen, especially when in the presence of a lady. Their punishment would fit their crime, and the three would each find a freshly pressed suit waiting for them. They were proper butler suits; a stark black tailcoat with high waisted trousers, a waist coat, a bow tie, and even a pocket watch. The traditional sort that gentlemen in the Victorian era oft wore, how Orion managed to get his hands on them was not something he shared with his students, but each uniform was near a perfect fit, if not perhaps a tad bit big (you are welcome to assume you changed before the start of the thread).

The Defense Against the Dark Arts room had been transformed, the usual darker aesthetics and oddities that Orion had collected during his time as a Hit Wizard had been pushed to the walls of the classroom, while the usual desks were missing. Instead, there were three round tables, each had been draped with a stark white table cloth and had been set with floral patterned china. A tower of sweets sat in the middle, all baked by Orion himself. Cupcakes, sugar cookies, macaroons, brownies, and more awaited the guests.

Each table came with a friend; a plush stuffed animal sitting next to the sweets. The first table had a dashing snowy owl fitted with a bow tie, the second a husky wearing a heart tagged red collar, and the third a white rabbit complete with a pocket watch in its hand.

From the corner of their eye, the students might have noticed a real creature lurking within the shadows, her bright green eyes sparkling whenever the light hit them. Orion’s black cat, Bijou, jumped onto his large dark wood desk and curled up. The professor reached a hand out to stroke the cat's head, a thin smirk covering onto his lips as he stared over at the three 'butlers'.

"Our guests will arrive soon. The three of you can leave your wands right here." He gestured towards his desk. "Be on your best behaviour. If not, you will be spending more weekends here with me, and trust me when I say I have endless ideas on how to make your lives a living hell. Bijou and I will be watching." The black cat chirped in confirmation, although her dazzling emerald eyes seemed to stay on Hanako.

Draven had spent enough time at social events to know what a butlers' uniform looked like. He had some notes. The pocket watch was exchanged from one of his own, flimsy tin replaced by heavy silver. The bow tie was treated in a similar fashion, with Draven finding an appropriately black one. What remained of the outfit was very nearly perfect. A bit loose around the midriff, but in all fairness Draven was built like a weed. Tall and skinny and so pale you could have confused him for a skeleton if you looked at him without your glasses.

It hadn't taken him very long to change his clothes. Removing the jewelry was another story. None of the things he'd picked out matched the outfit, and if he walked outside of the boys lavatory with the ten chains and five tungsten rings, he'd look like a dunce. So there he was, looking rather forlorn as he pulled the necklaces over his head and pinched some color into his cheeks.

Well. He'd deserved it. Next time he had to set someone on fire, he'd make sure the teacher wasn't looking first.

Draven walked into the DADA classroom with a resigned sigh, setting his wand into Orion's pencil holder. He was the first one in, it seemed. That didn't mean the room was empty. Orion was standing by his desk with a mischievous glint in his eyes, accompanied by every teenager's worst nightmare - stuffed animals and tea. "Good day, Professor." Draven said primly, surveying the tables and teapots. Funny. For someone who looked like he belonged in a funeral home, Orion sure did love to throw parties.

Draven took his spot beside the white rabbit, folding his hands neatly in front of him and waiting for the rest of the guests to trickle in. The mark of a good servant was to be invisible. They were to blend in with walls, be no more remarkable than a potted plant or a particularly large gargoyle. House elves were particularly good at it, with their magic and short, thin frames. He would simply have to make do with what he'd been handed.

It took him a couple seconds to realize the rabbit would not, in fact, make any requests. He'd been waiting for it to magically animate, perhaps demand his tea be poured in one fashion or another. But that wasn't about to happen. Draven slipped back into motion, picking up the kettle gingerly and pouring the rabbit's tea, topping off the cup with an aromatic amber liquid. The delicious smell wafted through the air, smoke twirling over the platter of cakes and macaroons. Perhaps the real challenge of this detention was NOT eating the food. Orion was a good cook, despite his tendency to add ingredients that weren't written on the recipe. Dray gave the sweets a look. Maybe instead of love potion, they'd be spiked with pompion elixir. He wasn't about to chance it.

Setting the kettle down, Dray returned to his spot and lowered his gaze to the tablecloth, imitating the passive, politely disinterested stance he'd seen many servants in his household take on. The servants had disappeared after a while. Replaced by house elves that had practically raised Dray and his sister. He resisted the urge to shift in his place, while he awaited the guests. He'd arrived a bit early, and he was paying the price for it now.

He should have tied up his hair.

Dray glanced towards Burnett and Mr. Tone. He doubted they were having fun, but serving tea was much better than scrubbing floors or writing essays.

The day had arrived-- the highlight of his year. It was no secret, Flash's life was a disaster, and he had nothing to look forward to but endless nights of silent suffering. But the suffering of others, who could miss it? When Burnett recieved the details of his detention, it had been in their room while Flash was present. The concept immidiately appealed to him, if only to tease Burnett while getting tea out of the deal, but the fact that Hanako was involved too... he could hardly wait to see how the pompous snake reacted to being in the position to serve him. Maybe he would get hot tea splashed in his face, but it was a risk Flash was willing to take.

In his enthusiasm, he arrived at the location before most of the 'butlers' could arrive. He would peer through the doorway, scanning the room in full with a smug smile before walking in. Taking a seat next to one of the large plushies, an owl with a bowtie, and look back at the door, wishing to see his two wards for the evening promptly. The anticipation tickled him, but he wasn't a complete fool. Too much glee at their imposition could be detected by the professor, and in Hanko's case, possibly draw too much unwanted attention. He'd have to keep his cheekiness in check.

Not wanting to leave the other two present in uncomfortable silence, Flash would look to the other youth in the room, one he was mostly unfamiliar with. He had seen him talking to the Quidditch captains lately, since after their last game, there was the need to replace a few of the players. What was clear though, was that he was the third butler.

"Hello, perhaps you know me already, you are joining the Quidditch team mid-season, right?" That was a white lie, he knew very well he had recently been moved from the waitlist to the team, but formal introductions were necessary. "My name is Flash, I'll be one of your guests this evening."

The boy was fortunate yo be meeting him while he was in such a good mood, it was a true rarity these days.
@Draven Mirador @Jack Burnett @Hanako Tone
OOC: I assumed Draven would have joined the Quidditch team by February, since the last game was in January when they needed to refill spots of players who left. Tell me if you'd like me to change this!

Clair loved the thought of a tea party, so when she had heard about this tea party she had been rather happy to think about going.
She had decided that she would wear a outfit that was not too formal but also not slobby, a simple white shirt and dark blue skirt, which was in truth one of the nicer things in her trunk, without wearing something that was worth going to a ball in.

As she made her way to the DADA Classroom she wondered what it would be like, were the boys who had gotten detention going to be bitter? She surly hoped not, though they had a good reason to be so.

Entering the room she seen the two boys, she was guessing that one was a detentionee, by his outfit at least.
Gosh, that outfit looked like something from years ago, she could not help but giggle at it.

Approaching the two she gave a nod, "Hello boys, I'm Clair Fernandez, I'm here as a guest."
Even thought there was a professor nearby she did not fully trust the boy in the dated outfit (Draven) to not shoot her with fire or something like that, so she stood about four feet away from both the boys.

Erin was playing errand-girl for the day. She was tasked with delivering a simple message to Mr. Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, Orion Lécuyer. She had a package for him, a neat, plain parcel wrapped in conventional brown paper and tied closed with simple string. There was a recipient: Professor Orion Lécuyer and there was a sender as well Thaddeus Athanatos. The package was being carelessly delivered to the good Professor, former hit wizard with a dubious background that perhaps the administration should have reviewed more closely before hiring the otherwise affable Professor.

Erin looked relatively normal, at least as normal as a teenager could look. She had the characteristic appearance that she had just left the gym whenever she was not in class. An oversized hoodie and a pair of yoga pants. She had gotten the package the other day in Hogsmeade, it was awaiting her at the post. It was to her disappointment to discover that the package was never for her, but rather she was the intermediary for delivery.

The fact that there was a detention going on in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom was lost to her, she belonged in most detentions or so it had become her norm for a long time. She had these past several months flew under the proverbial radar. No spats with friends, foes or mistaken romantic partners as of late. She went to class, she ate her meals or rather she ate whatever Miss Jensen made or foraged on her own, her aversion to mass produced provisions long withstanding.

The strange scene she would come upon in the DADA classroom was rather... unexpected. Apparently they were working out the Victorian Nerd Curse, as she entered into the room she let out a cacophonous laugh. Shame she did not buy ne of those cameras that they were selling in the square, this would have been the sort of moment that belonged on film.

"Mr. ahem" she cleared her throat but a reedy chuckle escaped. "Mr. Professor," she repeated temporarily forgetting the old person's name. "I-I was given... sent," she corrected herself. "Package and it is yours," she quickly announced as she extended her arms with the burden still in hand. The box was no larger than a shoebox, it weighed about 20 kilograms however. Erin was a strong little girl apparently as she handed off (unless it was never given away) a box with the effort one would exert for something perhaps a fifth the weight.

She did not peek, although she was rather curious about the burden she was relieving herself of. Uncle Thaddeus was an intensely private man in spite of his frequent media appearances. He did not like his family being photographed unless the scene was carefully developed prior to the image, statements made to the media were always prewritten and she was always absent from these matters. Not a part of the main family. Not in a relevant branch family. An outsider essentially, while she touted a pureblood heritage, it was only a claim as she feigned a position in wizarding society that they all knew. In addition, she never did develop the Seer skillset that seemed to be a trademark of their family. This was before the madness, before the perpetual series of blunders and disappointments that defined her and her relationship with a side of the family that was essentially estranged.

Yet she was a convenient delivery girl, and that was reason enough to entrust her over a bird. Even if she was not much better. "It is from my uncle," she added. She was proud of the association even if that road was a one-way street. It was unlikely she was ever mentioned, even if Orion had come to know the philanthropist well. Of course Orion did know Thaddeus Athanatos well. As an employer, as a means to an end and sometimes as a resource. It was not his wealth that would draw a hit wizard, although it might have been the reason for a few paid jobs in the past. No, it was likely what his family did, how they earned their money in the first place that would draw a hit wizard in. They were a family of organized Seers. A skillset that they carefully maintained within their family for generations, refining their skill in divination, it was not just the lovestick, the starry-eyed or the worried that came to know what was and what might be, what the red thread of fate had in store for them and what must and as well as what could be. The power to know was only as powerful as the power to change and this was a family that knew the later very well.

Just a trick of the lighting they said...
The Three Snake Butlers Detention PV
Jack didn't know what he was doing there. He technically hadn't done anything wrong that Orion knew of, so he wasn't sure why he had been roped into detention along with his fellow Slytherins Draven and Hanako. In fact, he himself had been a victim several times over after getting burned by Draven and then poisoned by what must have been Amortentia in those blasted cupcakes. He had never before recieved detention, so he couldn't help but feel indignant that his first one hadn't even had proper justification behind it. Well, at least not from the person who had given it to him.

Nevertheless, he knew he would get nowhere by trying to question or argue the matter. Orion had clearly already had his heart set on another tea party and the butlers that were to tend to it. Jack was half convinced that the teacher had assigned them this detention simply for their free labor. Whatever the reason, though, he resigned himself to get through the tea party as quickly and efficiently as possible. He hadn't counted on the guests being anyone he knew well - or, rather, who knew him.

Jack rather liked the tailcoat they had been assigned to wear if he was being honest, especially with the near perfect fit. The pocket watch was a nice touch, too, but the bowtie annoyed him. It seemed like such a silly accessory on such an otherwise elegant outfit, but he supposed it was one of the things that defined him as a butler for the party rather than a guest. Once he had finished putting everything on, he'd hurried to the Defense Against the Dark Arts room to take his place with the others.

The tower of baked goods made the Slytherin wonder if Orion was having the party to get rid of them. Well, he certainly wasn't going to touch them this time. He raised a brow at the stuffed animals at each table, but said nothing about them. At least the professor's cat didn't seem unfriendly or like she would cause trouble. Jack's gaze darted from her to her master when Orion began to speak. The boy sighed and relinquished his wand as was requested, setting it beside the others'.

"Still don't know why I'm here," Jack complained, though he suspected it would fall on deaf ears. He turned to face the room at large, watching Draven go over to stand beside a white rabbit stuffed animal before pouring it tea. Pouring it tea? It was stuffed animal, for Merlin's sake!

"You...do know that thing's not real, don't you?" he murmured quietly, stepping up to stand beside Draven. Maybe his bowtie had been tied a little too tightly and was cutting off the oxygen to his brain. "Or are you just that eager to be of service?"

It was at that moment that he noticed Flash was in the room. When he had gotten there, Jack wasn't sure, but whoever's idea it was to have invited Flash to the little tea fest, Jack could have strangled them. How was he supposed to concentrate on serving his detention quickly and efficiently now? Of course Flash had learned of the detention the same time Jack had, and that had been humiliating enough, but to be invited to the very same party he was to serve at? Orion must have had a twisted sense of humor.

Flash had greeted Draven and had begun to introduce himself as Jack tried to figure out what to do. Should he stick to Flash? Keep away from him? The former behavior might have annoyed his roommate, but the latter was sure to be noticed and might have annoyed him even more. It was hard for Jack to pay attention to anything else except the blue-eyed brunet, but then he heard a new voice. It was a girl introducing herself as Clair Fernandez.

Right...he could just treat Flash like all the other party guests. Right? Surely he was capable of at least that much. It was only for the duration of one measely detention. While Draven was occupied with talking to Flash, Jack could help elsewhere. It would be fine. He could show Orion just how much of a gentleman he could be if he so chose.

"Greetings, Miss Fernandez! Please, have a seat. Where would you like to sit?" He gestured at the many chairs set about the tables, ready to pull out any one for her that struck her fancy.

And then Erin showed up. Jack couldn't help staring. He had never seen her in so little clothing before. Not that he was swayed by physical appearances, but it was still striking to see her in such an outfit. She laughed aloud and Jack felt the shame rise in his face in the form of warmth as blood rushed into his cheeks. He barely noticed the package in her arms or what she said to the professor as she delivered it.

Clearing his throat, he closed his mouth and shook his head before returning his attention to Clair. "Sorry...you were saying?" Mentally, he hoped and prayed that Erin wasn't there as yet another party guest but that she would just deliver her package and leave.

Dray waited patiently for the guests to begin to trickle in. They did. Eventually. He wasn't sure what was better, the fact that he got to serve tea for two hours, or how quiet it was in the classroom. It was a nice change from the usual bustling atmosphere around the halls, where everyone was pushing and shoving each other in an attempt to get to their classes.

The boy shot Orion a grateful look. Perhaps he'd meant the exercise to be humiliating, but all he'd done was allow Dray a moment of peace. Still, he cast his eyes down to avoid looking too happy. It wasn't a pose he had to hold for long; sooner rather than later Jack Burnett strode in in all his lanky glory. Dray studiously ignored the boy, picking up the kettle and a towel from the nearby table. Burnett had other plans.

"Careful Jack," Dray said pleasantly, giving the other a warm smile. "Wouldn't want my hand to slip." The kettle came dangerously close to the other boy's suit, steam curling around Burnett. He didn't have his wand, but a pot of boiling water would do just as well in driving a point home. Still, Orion was watching them. Dray smiled sweetly in Jack's direction and walked past him, making sure he wouldn't brush against his newfound 'friend'.

In a way, the older Slytherin had saved him from making another foolish decision. Dray's eyes travelled across the room, taking in the details of everything that was Flash Holmwood. Tall and well built, with bronze skin and a head of unruly hair; puberty had hit the boy and kept swinging. Heterochromia. It looked good on him. Perhaps better than it should have.

"Good day, Mr. Holmwood." Draven smiled. "It's good to finally meet you." He'd spent far too many nights trying to memorize the names of everyone on the quidditch team. It didn't change all that often, but blank memorization wasn't his forte. Now that the other boy was standing before him, however, Dray found it easier. Heterochromia meant Flash. Wild curly hair meant Flash. Wide shoulders and a baritone voice meant Flash.

"I'm very excited for the opportunity to play with you. I've only heard good things."
He'd set the kettle down to shake the other boy's hand, but now that the pleasantries were over, he did have a job to do. "Would you like some tea?"

Hanako would much rather scrub floors and write 1, no- 10 essays, than go through this hell. His reason for being here? Trying to save Jack and his pathetic pride. A feat that didn’t end well anyway considering how Hana spend the rest of the valentines tea party being mind-boggled by those crushed treats. Slugs and cupcakes. Things he will never see the same again. He hoped to escape this wretched dilemma. A few more days of not seeing Jack’s face would be wonderful for his mental health.

And to make matters worse…. This stupid suit didn’t even fit him well! Good, now not only was he being mentally tortured, but he was going to be mentally tortured without looking fine as hell. Hanako definitely looks smaller compared to his peers, but this is just too cruel of a predicament. He knew he’d look good in this if it only fitted him perfectly.

But that was not the case. It wasn’t so bad. Only slightly bigger than his frame. But the hidden perfectionist in him squirmed at the fit. And as if the universe was dead set on making him scowl like there was no tomorrow, the rest looked fine as hell! Their suits didn’t look so big on them, and here he was hoping at least Draven could relate but nooooooo he looked great in it.

And the misfortune keeps on rolling in like a cheese wheel on top of a hill. That blasted Holmwood was there, all smirky and snarky- knowing full well this was not something Hanako would do on a nice Saturday morning. And the cat! The blasted cat! It took all his willpower to stick his tongue out angrily at that four-legged beast making eye contact with him. And willpower was not something Hana had a lot of, so he did it anyway. He did it quickly, hopefully, the professor didn’t notice. He then directed his attention towards something else that didn’t ignite burning anger in him. Oh, wait. There was none. Every single thing in this room was an abomination.

Jack said blablabla Draven said blablaba, Hanako head none of that. He was too busy taking deep breaths, his temper being severely tested right now. He had to get a hold of himself. Sure, this is what hell looks like. But he was smart- ish. He could turn this around. Adaptiveness was a skill he had pride in. So what now? What could he do to convert this frustration into something beneficial?

Well, pretend to be an entirely different person of course! Anyone who mentions him being here, he will gaslight the crap out of them because now, he was not Hanako Tone nono. He was the human embodiment of Tamaki Suoh. An.. .interesting character from a muggle anime. Hanako died and his body is now an empty husk, temporarily occupied by the soul of a fictional character. Lovely, problem solved. He felt better already.

Fortunately, this whole change of personality took a bit of time fully grasp, therefore all the other guests were pretty much taken. Draven seemed to enjoy himself with Holmwood (well at least Hana didn’t need to talk to him anymore), Jack occupied the other girls attention, who introduced herself as Clair Fernandez. Not wanting to lose to Jack, he too decided to welcome her with a sweet smile. “ A pleasure to have you join us in today’s party, Miss Fernandez.” he greeted with a slight bow. “ Hanako Tone, at your service. If you see find yourself with less than favourable company, I would be delighted to jump in help make your experience here a wonderful one(you can choose just how well this went)

HAH! Was that good? That better be good. That was a lot of smiling and gentle intonations. That dumb cat and its even dumber professor better saw just how well that performance of his was.

The other one in the room didn’t even seem like a guest. Clearly, she didn’t intend to stay long for the party. Not with those clothes. And even if she did, that was a poor choice in clothing, said the boy with the oversized butler uniform. Hanako didn't want to interact much with her considering she looks like her hugs could break bones. But he couldn't stop staring since she seemed so familiar. The look on Jack’s face was all it took to light a bulb in Hanako’s mind.

Ah yes! Erin Rain.Reef? Erin something. Ex-girlfriend of Jack Burnett, who kindly shared this information with Hana a long time ago. That was the limit of his information on her, but it was enough. Oh no! How awkward it must’ve been for poor Burnett if she stayed!

😏

It would be wonderful if Hana wasn’t the only one having a bad day. And Tamaki Suoh wasn’t known to turn away guests, whether they intended to come or not. “Excuse me, please enjoy your time here” he sweetly said to Fernandez before adjusting what he could with his suit and walking towards the senior with the small looking package with his best customer service smile.

[“ Why don’t I take that off your delicate hands?” he gestured towards the shoebox she held, sevely underestimating it’s weight. But if not given, he would nod understandingly.(unless I was wrong and she was not at the entrance and the package has been handed off somewhere in which case do ignore this bit) ]

Welcome to the Teddy Bear Tea Party. We are enchanted to be greeted with your presence, aren’t we~?” Hanako sent a foreign warm smile towards Burnett, holding back an evil snicker. “Why don’t you stay with us to rest your feet in the meantime? It must’ve been a journey to send this package. Tea and treats are just what you need, don’t you think so?”. From where he was, he gestured towards the tower of scrumptiout treats, hoping to entice the 5th year to stay and have a fun little time with Jackiekins.

Action: Hana died from stress, and he is now an empty husk of nothingness with his body taken over by Tamaki Suoh . Due to this do note his usual sarcastic/singsongy/mocking tone is nowhere to be seen today.

She had stumbled upon some Hufflepuff stuffies and hug club. Suits and carbs, definitely not her jam. She did not trust sweets, or googly eyes. There was something sinister in those smiling faces and plush exteriors.

“Why don’t I take that off your delicate hands?”

One of the boys playing tea party with the stuffies offered. Erin sort of stared past him, not realizing that the offer was for her. Nobody had ever called Erin 'delicate' of all things. A brute, a monster, even a beauty before she opened her mouth and they knew even an ounce of her personality. "Oh, me? No this," she replied confused, a bit stupid yet polite. She relinquished the package to the possession of a one Hanako Tone. [Snooze you lose Orion.]

Hanko would immediately feel the weight those 'delicate' hands carried and he might regret it. If he did, he knew how to lie. How to act. “Welcome to the Teddy Bear Tea Party. We are enchanted to be greeted with your presence, aren’t we~?”

"So some Hufflepuff thing," she commented as he turned away. The look or expression he gave Jack, be it of mirth, taunting or sly malice was lost to the part Veela, she only saw the back of his head. "Not really into making small talk with..." whatever the hell they were. Do they fucking talk? That would be damn terrifying.

“Why don’t you stay with us to rest your feet in the meantime? It must’ve been a journey to send this package. Tea and treats are just what you need, don’t you think so?”

But Hanko did something nobody else her whole history as a student in Hogwarts - invite her somewhere. So utterly uninterested, possibly mildly troubled by the weirdness, she would not deny a polite offer. "Probably a mistake," she admitted. An offer he did not expect her to accept, he said out of politeness not out of intent. Perhaps some subtle obligation she failed to understand. "But sure," she conceded without any effort beyond a flimsy offer.

"Just be careful with the box, break his things and you end up in the dark place."

Just a trick of the lighting they said...
