The Hufflepuff Table 2017 - 2018
Cynthia helped herself to some of the many, amazing desserts that suddenly appeared on the tables. She was amazed at the beautiful work that went into preparing all this wonderful food. The kitchen staff really outdid themselves. She took a bite of a cream donut when she noticed Elysia taking to a girl down towards the end of the Hufflepuff table, but the girl sitting there was wearing blue. What was a Ravenclaw doing at the Hufflepuff table? Cynthia thought it was probably just a mistake.
Cynthia didn’t notice that a Ravenclaw student had mistakenly sat at the Hufflepuff table. Elysia must have told her what her mistake was because the girl stood up and walked, with a degree of embarrassment, to the Ravenclaw table. Cynthia couldn’t help, but giggle at the incident. She knew it was an innocent mistake that could have been made by anyone. She hoped the Ravenclaw claw wouldn’t be teased about it too much. As the girl stood up, Cynthia heard her say that her name was Nora Selnius. She would remember that name and looked forward to possibly becoming friends with her. After all, she did seem nice and took the incident in stride.

Kiara was beyond excited excited as she stepped into the Great Hall with her Hufflepuff uniforms on. She saw everyone talking to everyone and she hoped that that could be her. She was an extreme extrovert but being around a whole bunch of wizards put her out of her comfort zone. She didn’t know if they talk about the same things like muggles do. Hey, did you watch that basketball game last night? She knew that was a dumb question starter, seeing how everyone here was obsessed with the game quidditch. So she sucked up all her pride, straighten her robes, held her head high and walked to the dessert table.
She grabbed a plate and filled it with all kinds of sweets. She also saw another girl doing the same so she though to introduce herself.
”Hi, my name is Kiara.”
She held her free hand out for the girl to shake while smiling at her. She hoped the girl would be nice back and that maybe they could be friends, maybe even best friends.

Howie walked into the Great Hall, making his way over to the yellow clad table. The atmosphere was much calmer than the night before at the Sorting Ceremony. The hall was still abuzz with the students chatter and laughter, but it wasn’t quite the fever pitch it had been the last night.
He looked up at the ceiling as he made his way in between the tables, still amazed at how the ceiling reflected the sky outside. Living in this magical castle was nothing like he had ever experienced in his “muggle” life. Not paying any attention, Howie crashed into the end of the Hufflepuff table. “Ouch!” He yelled out as he hopped around on one leg, holding his knee in his hand. Blushing, he quickly took his seat. “Why must I be so clumsy! Great first impression you donk!” He thought to himself.
His worries quickly subsided as he looked down at the array of food in front of him. His sweet tooth screamed out as he saw the endless platters of dessert before him. “Yes!” He said out loud as he filled his plate. Stuffing all sorts of sweets and pastries in his mouth he looked around. He noticed two witches close by introducing themselves, hearing the one say her name was Kiara. “I wonder if I should say hi too?” He wondered.

Olympia finds an open spot at the table, and quickly seats herself there before it's taken. The sound of chatter and laughter filled the Great Hall, which lifted Olympia's spirit some. Being away from Enoch did things to her heart, broke it into a million pieces, but that was alright. She would have fun here without her twin. At least she'd be able to see him on holidays.
Olympia begins to endulge herself in the meal before her. A few large, precisely cooked to perfection chickens sit on silver platters evenly spaced out on the long table. She doesn't know in the slightest who's next to her, but she doesn't plan on socializing here. Not yet. Until she gets some friends, she won't be socializing any at mealtimes.
The decisions being made of which different foods to take were overwhelming for Olympia. She never ate that much, so did they really expect it here? 'Of course not, you idiot!' Her mind was wailing. Her train of thought had derailed, and she was unable to think as she grabbed a little of everything, beginning to shove it all in her mouth.
It seemed as if her tastebuds were set on fire. The food was extraordinary. She'd never tasted anything so good in her life, which in her case, was saying a lot. Her father is a cook, and her mother a waitress, so she'd tasted some exquisite foods in her time. But this couldn't compare to anything she'd ever had before.

Frost eyes the table of her house, Hufflepuff. Her grin grows wider as she sees how full it is. She recognizes a few of the faces at the table.
Walking up to the table, she decides to sit next to a girl with toffee colored hair. She seemed too into in the food she was eating, so she decides to leave her be, it looks like she was enjoying herself.
Frost sits crosslegged and gets a plate of her own food, determined to see if the things about the food that her mother and father said were true.
Her eyes widen as she took small bites of the chicken and peas. This is delicious! She couldn't help but get another serving of everything. The food is only one good thing about Hogwarts, she is sure there were even more wonderful things yet to be discovered.
She glances up from the delightful food and looks at all the smiles being chared at this table. She would make many friends here with time. She was glad to be sorted into Hufflepuff. She would fit in just fine here.
Smiling, she goes back to eating, lost in her own thoughts.
This is going to be great!

Cynthia looked over as a girl sat down beside her, introducing herself as Kiara. She seemed genuinely nice and Cynthia decided to introduce herself in return. “Hello, Kiara. It’s nice to meet you. My name is Cynthia,” she said, shaking the girl’s hand and giving her a friendly smile. Cynthia was making many new friends every day. She would home to her parents, telling them all about her days at Hogwarts and about all the new friends she had made so far. Friends helped keep her mind off of missing her parents.
She thought about how she was doing in her classes. She was doing extremely well in potions. She had her parents to thank for that since they have their own potions laboratory set up at home. She was doing fairly well with her other classes, but she really enjoyed Potions Class.
She took another bite of her cream donut which was something she thoroughly enjoyed. She definitely had a sweet tooth and it made sense that her favorite shop in the wizarding world would be Honeyduke’s Sweet Shop. “I see you like sweets too. Do you have a favorite? I like cream donuts and pretty much anything chocolate,” Cynthia asked her potential new friend. She hoped they would become friends, but she never wanted to rush something like that.

Verla looked past Cynthia to the new people, she whimpered back into her seat next to Cynthia, she just wanted to be by friends right now, and not meet many people at the moment. Seeing everyone here was overwhelming, and she felt her self getting dizzy, she nibbled on a cookie, what was she? A little kid? Well, realistically yes, yes she was, but in her mind she was older, and her maturity showed it too. She liked school, but she didn't like some of the people, and some of the teachers made her nervous, though they seemed like elegant people. Ones who were determined to make their students successful, which was rare to find in teachers who cared.
Verla began to read a book and entered her own thoughts as she did, making all the sound around the room disaparate and turn into white noise. Nervous Verla was back, and she hoped to see her friend Levi around soon. The only way to get her out of her own world was saying her name and shaking her to get her attention. Her mother had tried this many times and it didn't work, until one day, her mother slapped her.

Archer blinked, overcome by the amount of people sitting at the tables in the Great Hall. Scanning the hall, he found the familiar yellow robes of the Hufflepuff students (same as him!) Compared to the other tables, the Hufflepuff table seemed much more inviting.
But, well, anywhere with good food seemed inviting to Archer.
He sat down happily, ready to gorge himself on this delicious food. There were so many to choose from! Archer decided to disobey his upbringing and took a bunch of sweets, barely noticing the people sitting next to him. Maybe they were casting weird looks, and maybe they weren't. Archer could care less. Sweets were yummy.
When he was finally out of his stupor, he glanced around the table. No one he knew was near him (obviously, he didn't know many people so why would this be a questionable fact) and many people were engaged in their own conversations.
But the lack of people to talk to didn't worry Archer. Friends came with time. And he had just got here. Of course it was going to take a while to find a solid pool of friends.
But, for a while, food really is all he needs.

Kaede entered the Great hall and looked around, he hoped to see his older siblings at least once today, but it was too crowded for him to see anyone familiar (sibling wise anyway). He held his manga volume close to his chest as he made his way towards the Hufflepuff table, he felt somewhat nervous for what was to come, but he was excited too. Things can only go up from here. He sighed looking at all the food options and wiped around his mouth, fearing that he might be drooling because of how good it all looked. He sat down in one of the open spaces beside another boy.
Kaede reached out and grabbed a bit of toast and a blueberry muffin, his stomach had settled down a lot since the night before when he'd been seasick from the journey. The sea of colour around him was amazing: the red of Gryffindor as bright as a rose, the blue of Ravenclaw as cool as the sea, the green of Slytherin like a lush field and then the yellow of his own house, Hufflepuff like that of the sun (bright and cheery). He was excited for classes and really just wanted to get into everything already.
Kaede propped up his book against the butter tub and began reading, as he shoveled food into his mouth.

The Hufflepuff Table 2017 - 2018
Once an unusually lengthy Sorting Ceremony had, at long last, come to an end - the night is now full of excitement, apprehension; astonishment. Some students were aware of the world of Magic and, depending on their families, knew what to expect. But there were others who had never seen anything so alien in their life. It was like a dream.
On brilliant gold plates, bountiful heaps and heaps of food appear and the atmosphere changes to that of a busy and talkative evening among the bustle of, potentially, hundreds of new students. Some had already formed friends! The Hufflepuff table is very much alive, punctuated by lads and lasses ready to make their approach, settle in, and begin to look forward to several long years at Hogwarts.
Seth, however, was almost blind to anyone around him. He had settled down between a few cute girls, he might have caught the glimpse of a lad a little further across from him, but he was entirely concentrated on food. Food.
He was a wiry lad with rich dark blonde hair, his straight posture and eerie yellow eyes making him appear quite taller and unapproachable than he really was when he sat down. Truthfully, it looked like he belonged in Slytherin, and might've been in the wrong house wearing the wrong robes. But, he turned voracious when he began to eat like he'd never ate a meal in his life before, this reserved demeanor changing almost in an instant.
Food is all that matters.
Alas, once the excitement of a near life-changing experience and meal had begun to subside itself to the back of his mind, his attention finally wanders. Grabbing everything it can. He cannot help but cast a glance at the girls and boys he sat with as if he was just now noticing them. He gulped a fine ginger ale, face hidden for a fleeting moment behind his goblet and wiping his mouth with his sleeve, a peculiar, incredulous look on his face.
He was, definitely, a bit of an airhead...
But a grin appears on his face just from hearing people laugh and talk with each other, and he looks thrilled. Before he realized it an oppressing fullness was in his gut and he'd ate much more quickly than he realized and gawked at an empty plate. Glancing about, he wonders if it be rude he take more.
But, hand extending out with a fork, he does it anyway -
his hesitance gone almost immediately.
