Dear Mother and Father,
I hope that this doesn't surprise you when you get this! I know the owl was quite a sight when we saw it together. I miss you very much. So far no, I haven't made any new friends. I think maybe me having to be a Muggle-Born has something to do with it, but on the other hand, I haven't made any enemies either. The subjects that I'm studying are quite interesting, actually, compared to schools in London. The only thing I miss are the family and friends I had there.
So they put me into a House called Ravenclaw. From what I can't understand, mostly intelligent and witty people are in there. I don't know if I'm those but I do know that I'm smart and that I think before I do anything, so it should be a good fit. I think the Sorting Hat, which sorts people into a House in school, wanted to put me in Slytherin. I actually wish I could be in that House but it's too late for that. I have to stay in here for the rest of my six years!
I suspect you don't even know what I'm talking about. Well, think about a House being a club based on your personality and tendencies. So Gryffindor is for the brave and loyal, I think. I'm still learning but I hope that I have a great time here.
I hope you guys are doing well! The biggest question I had was how this would effect my muggle-world life. What if I want to go back to being a Muggle? Will I have to go to Year Six when I'm eighteen, after I complete my seventh year here?! Too much to worry about. Well, I have to go back to my studies now. Can't wait to see you guys during the holidays!
