@Dealla Prince
Thank you for the answer! Although I'm still not sure I understand what you meant on the second one.
When you say that auto-hit can only cancel out the same percentage as itself, do you mean that you essentially substract the auto-hit percentage from your opponent's bonus(es), or that it can only cancel with rolls of the same percentage (or lower) to itself?
So like, if you had 10% auto-hit, and 20% auto-dodge, would that yield one 10% auto-dodge roll? Or would you still have to perform both rolls, and if so, what happens if both are a success?

The former. With 10% auto-hit and 20% auto-dodge, the auto-hit can only cancel out 10% so there would be 10% auto-dodge left, that one roll gets performed. If there is 20% auto-hit and 10% auto-dodge, the auto-dodge cancels out 10% of the auto-hit, so 10% auto-hit is left over and that roll is performed etc. With 20% auto-hit, 10% auto-miss and 10% auto-dodge it all cancels out etc.Julian Pritchard wrote: 4 Feb 2022, 20:10 @Dealla Prince

Duelling Questions
Ferula was introduced as a spell because of the introduction of the Wandmaker ability. The Rougarou Hair core causes a bleeding effect when dark spells hit, and the way to counter that is with Ferula.

So hello…I’m not a duellist yet…but i will be on the waitlist soon. I do not understand how the moderation bits work…do i have to understand?
Random example:
Rose cast Blindfolding Spell at Bridget
Wisdom DC: 10
Wisdom Check: [d20: 13] + 10 = 23 > 10 → Success
Auto-Dodge (19 or 20): [d20: 10] → Fail
Accuracy Check: [d20: 7] + 8 = 15
Evasion Check: [d20: 19] + 10 = 29
15 < 29 → Miss
Effects:
- N/A
Also another question in class we learned we can’t levitate someone with wingardium leviosa, but we can in duelling?
Random example:
Rose cast Blindfolding Spell at Bridget
Wisdom DC: 10
Wisdom Check: [d20: 13] + 10 = 23 > 10 → Success
Auto-Dodge (19 or 20): [d20: 10] → Fail
Accuracy Check: [d20: 7] + 8 = 15
Evasion Check: [d20: 19] + 10 = 29
15 < 29 → Miss
Effects:
- N/A

As you are not a mod you don't necessarily need to understand, but let me break it down for you, since it is certainly useful if you can.Cynthia Beaufort wrote: 17 Dec 2022, 10:32 So hello…I’m not a duellist yet…but i will be on the waitlist soon. Generally most things in duelling are determined by a stat and the result of the rolling of a 20-sided dice (see [d20:Number]).
The Wisdom difficulty for Blindfolding Spell is 10. So the dice result plus Rose's wisdom stat need to be higher than 10, or she will fail to cast it. Rose's wisdom stat is already 10, but there is still one way she can fail, and that is by rolling a 1. Rolling a 1 for a wisdom check means that the spell would backfire unless the person has the perfectionist ability.Wisdom DC: 10
Wisdom Check: [d20: 13] + 10 = 23 > 10 → Success
Rose got a 13, all is well.
Bridget has the Evasive Maneuver ability, so she has a 10% chance of automatically dodging the spell. This ca be determined with a 10 sided dice- So rolling a 10 means she would automatically dodge- here it is done with a 20 sided dice, so 19 or 20 would mean an automatic dodge. Stats have no effect here. A 10 means no autododge.Auto-Dodge (19 or 20): [d20: 10] → Fail
Here it is determined if the spell hits or not, so Rose's accuracy plus dice result vs. Bridget's evasion plus dice result. Simple as that, the higher result wins.Accuracy Check: [d20: 7] + 8 = 15
Evasion Check: [d20: 19] + 10 = 29
15 < 29 → Miss
