Greetings.

I have a new hair color today! Yes, it's that time. I tend to change my hair color once a month to give it a fresher kind of feeling and to make things pop out a little. It was a silvery-white color before but now that March has come, I changed it back to my natural color, black. I think it looks good. I haven't had this color for ages.

Ah, the ice. Yeah, that makes more sense!

Ice and snow are so beautiful to look at, don't you think?

Hey, do you like winter sports? Have you ever tried to ice skate? I tried it once or twice and although it can be fun, it's not really for me. But if you want to do something different, it's interesting to try out. I've noticed through our letters that I'm way more talkative through them than I am in real life. Hope you don't mind.

It's just, putting a quill to the paper and writing is so creative that the words just come out of me. I like writing and composing songs in my off time sometimes.

Were you just trying to cross on the ice to get back to the castle?

Or were you out there for another reason? I don't know if the squid tends to hibernate or not, I don't know much about it actually, I've just heard about it. It's good that someone was around at the time to help you, freezing cold water is never a fun thing to be exposed to for long periods of time. It's not good for your health.

Oh, you were a competitive swimmer? How did you like that? I'm not sure if being on a broom would make you less clumsy, you're using the broom and not your own body, but maybe it might? If you aren't considering Broom Racing or Quidditch, are you thinking about Dueling too? If you joined with me, it might be rather fun.

Maybe we'd be on the same team sometime.

Or perhaps even against eachother! Either one would be fun.

We could learn from eachother. History of Magic is interesting at times, but only when it comes to material I haven't already learned from my parents. I think the professor is actually pretty decent though for the most part. Did you know History of Magic was the first class I attended when I first came here? The very first one.

Of course, I got a little bored with the subject material and started to play a little game with Juniper and Micheal at the time... but that's beside the point.

Right, I forgot to ask before, but what are you?
As in pureblood, wizard-born, half-blood, muggle etc... I'm a pureblood.

As for Houses, I kind of wanted to see what being in Ravenclaw would have been like, as I do love learning and have endless curiosity that would fit with being a member of that House. But I knew there would be hell if that happened, as my parents aren't from Ravenclaw. They are from Slytherin and Gryffindor Houses.

So I'm not allowed to get into any Houses that aren't either of those.

I was so happy to get your last letter! I don’t know why, but it made my day.
Anyways, I wish I could see your hair. I would love to see all of the different colors. My hair is a dirty blond, but I’ve died the tips a blue and purple ombré. I wish you could see it. But that’s beside the point. I’m sure your hair looks magnificent.
I agree. Snow and ice is so beautiful… I wish I hadn’t broken the lake now.
I have ice skated a bit, but not a ton. I did it a little every winter with my family and especially my little brothers, but not besides that. How about you? Do you do winter sports? Or any other sports? Do you have siblings? You said you were pure blooded, right ? I wouldn’t say that you were muffle born because you said your parents taught you about history of magic and such. I am a muggle born though.
Anyways, I just was on the ice. No reason really besides that I though I could stand on it. I don’t know why…. Looking back it was NOT a good decision.
Competitive swimming was fun, but I might prefer Taekwondo. I hated competing in swimming. The coaches were ok but I just didn’t like competing.
I might try out for dueling one day. It would be fun to do it together.
And I think I’ll just stay on the side for broom sports. I do not need to have a bed dedicated to me at the hospital wing.
Now that you said that history of magic was your first class here, I think it might have been mine too. Maybe it’s all first years first class?
I do think we could learn from each other. I feel like everyone can learn from everyone. Do you agree?
And my letter have been just as long as yours have; I’m usually not this talkative. I really like writing/ talking to you though.
I really want to explore the other houses’ dorms. I think it would be cool. Just to do a comparison study, you know?

Greetings.

Were you able to get all the invitations out to your club's meeting? I remember last time you mentioned something about having to do that at the end of your letter.

I think both of us will eventually meet sometime. After all, we go to the same school and there's interest on both sides about meeting in person. Your hair sounds awesome! I can't wait to see it sometime. I've dyed mine blond before too, I tend to change hair color every month to keep things fun and interesting for me.

Yes, I've done some winter sports. I've always been pretty active, both at home and at school. I don't tend to make friends easily but I always find myself interacting with a lot of people somehow. It's like when you're a person who wants to make friends and be around others all the time, people dislike you & want to stay away.

But when you're the opposite, they flock to you.

It's weird. Or is it just me?

As for sports and activities that I've done in my life, there are too many to name. I love having hobbies and like to indulge in multiple things. Like I said before, I thought I'd get sorted into Ravenclaw due to my insatiable curiosity all the time. So... just picture me as a Ravenclaw! I apparently have a lot of their traits inside.

Being a muggle sounds awesome to me. It's quite an interesting world, although I was never able to indulge much in them. My parents don't tend to agree with me when it comes to those who aren't purebloods. Enough said about them. How does it feel writing with quills and ink, compared to pens and pencils? I love those two.

I mean I have a self-inking quill my parents got me before coming to Hogwarts.

But it's not the same as your kind's inventions. Doesn't taekwondo have competitions too? I mean, not in the normal classes of course. But in a general sense. When I did martial arts, I was aiming to compete as an end goal, but maybe yours was different from mine. Yeah, History of Magic might be a good opener.

That or Charms.

But for homework, sometimes it feels as if the professors take a long time to grade.

Or is it just me who feels that way? I've completed all my homework but am now looking into later homework to see what I can learn later on. Some of it is really interesting. Also, I totally get you about exploring the other Houses dorms. I'm thinking about sneaking into one sometime in the near future. But I'm not sure.

After all, I'd need to figure out the password and hide from the prefects.

Then again, that sounds like a great adventure.

I think it might be easier if you had a friend in the other dorm. Hey, like us. Aren't you in Ravenclaw I think you mentioned before? We could sneak into eachother's dorms! I've always wanted to see what Ravenclaw and Slytherin dorms looked like. I'll let you go for now, before someone sees I've been writing about breaking rules.

Dear Kim,
I was able to get all of the invitations sent! I have a meeting of the Peaceful Mind Club tomorrow- you should come. And I think you would be a great Vice President. And then we could meet!! And I’m going to make meringue and lemonade, so… I’ll save you some!
You should also come to the meeting of the Martial artists club. I don’t know when the next meeting will be though.
I think it is so cool how you dye your hair every month. I would do that, but I like my hair the way it is. Do you use a spell or muggle dye? Is there wizarding hair dye?
And I get making friends with those who are like the complete opposite of you. I mean, I think like have of my friends are super dark and moody (not that that is a bad thing) and I am like a cheerful ray of sunshine most of the time.
And I feel like you would be a great Ravenclaw. It suits your personality (at least through letter)
As for quills and ink verse pens and pencils, it’s unique. I like quills and ink but I hate having to refill the knib. That is quite similar to sharpening pencils. There should be a quill that doesn’t run out of ink. That would be cool. Do those exist? Or do they just “re ink” themselves? Would they spill?
Taekwondo does have competitions, and like a championship ranking. I was and am not super interested in that though. I prefer teaching.
And if you would be willing I would love to have a peak in the Slytherin dorms. And you would come to Ravenclaw!!
Must go now prepare for the Peaceful Mind Club meeting tomorrow.

It was a lot of fun having you there- and you had some great ideas. What all were the rules again? I can’t remember them all- and I really want to make a list of them. It would be good to have at the meetings.

Sorry for not responding to this letter sooner.
I kind of got distracted with real life events.
But you should know, since we met for the 'first' time.

I DID NOT KNOW YOU WERE THE SAME BAILEY THAT I WAS ALREADY FRIENDS WITH! DID YOU SUSPECT?

It's nuts that we didn't realize who we were just because we couldn't see eachother's faces.

As for the hair dye, it's muggle hair dye because I don't know the color-changing spell yet. But I'm actually going to learn it soon. So, I think that should be fun to experiment with, as long as I don't end up making the dye permanent with the spell, that would totally suck.

Then again, I guess it wouldn't be too bad.
I could always use muggle dye to change the color.

There IS wizard dye but it's usually only used for inkwells and quills, not to change hair color.

You know...

Once I learn the color-changing spell, I could do it on your hair if you want to give it a try sometime. Or if you'd like to do it the old-fashioned way and do it by hand, I can do that too. I've done it all my life, so I'm pretty experienced when it comes to hair and dyeing it.

You wouldn't get a bad color if you did it with me.

I kind of like it.

It's one of the things that I think is a really good mindset to possess. When it comes to quills, normal quills do require an inkwell filled with ink in order to write. But you can also obtain something called self-inking quills which never seem to ever run out of ink.

I believe they are enchanted to write forever.

I have one of those, my parents gave it to me before I went to Hogwarts. Next time we meet, I'll show it to you.

I never leave without it.
But I do tend to write using quills and inkwells mostly.
It's just expected in a class setting by professors.
So I just do it for them.

Why aren't you into competitions when it comes to taekwondo? You could make a living out of it. By the way, I got both your letters and am just reading the second one now. I'll combine my response into one letter, so the owls can just take one back to you instead.

Ah, the rules for the PMC, yes.

You'd give a brief summary as to what T/D is.
Also describe how to play it.
Topics are anything you can think of/want to explore.
Participants have two choices.

When targeted, they can respond in 2 possible ways.
1- answer the question/do the dare
2- choose to not answer the question/do the dare

If they choose #2, they have to down an entire glass of lemonade or drink within 5 seconds. But if they cannot manage to do so, they must choose T/D again. This process continues until they are able to successfully answer the question or complete the dare. Then it ends.

No I didn’t suspect that… I feel like it is super obvious now, but I totally missed it. Our names are both pretty common and I don’t think I told you my last name when we met the first time. That is probably why- at least it makes sense to me.
As for hair dye, do you use the same brand for all of the color, or different brands depending on the color? My curiosity- sorry.
Ohh yes once you learn the spell to change hair color, I will definitely let you dye it. I would trust you to do it more than I would trust myself- I know I would probably mess it up.
And thanks- I have a hard time showing people my negative emotions; that’s really why I seem happy all of the time. And why practically no one has seen me sad. The exception is … probably Draven- that’s all.
Next time we meet- I need to see your self- inking quill. Next time I have a chance I am going to have to buy one of those- it seems so handy! Also I sometimes have a habit of spilling the ink… the problem being clumsy.
As for not liking competing in Taekwondo- well it is a long story. I made it to the regional competition but I had a bad day and got out my first round, thus ruining my love of competing. I think I just need some time off. And then I’ll be ready to do it again.
Also, all of those rules/ recommendations are great- I’m making a list.
And the recipe for the vanilla extract- I enclosed it.

Vanilla extract:
So… it’s really easy. You just need vanilla pods, and Vodka (my family uses Polish vodka my Bushia- that is polish for grandmother- sends us.
The you need a jar or two- put the bean pods in, pour the vodka on and let it soak. We let them soak for a month before we start using it. We also leave the vanilla pods in the vodka.

I dabble in various brand types, because all of them are different and can effect your hair in many ways. It's always best to experiment at first to see what colors you like from what brand. I have done this all my life.

So, I'm pretty much a veteran by now when it comes to muggle dyes. Come to think of it, the only two muggle things I'm experienced with and can call myself an expert in are sweets and hair dyes. Isn't that amusing?

I'm looking forward to it and you can be my first test subject! Hah! But don't worry, I'll test it out on my own hair first to make sure I know how to do it right. As for showing negative emotions, I think there's a reason.

It's because people don't like seeing them, so that's why we don't feel comfortable showing them. But when it comes to me, I don't mind at all. So if you need someone to vent to and be yourself around, I'm here.

Oh, you know Draven too? I know him from June.

Ahhh, I see. It's a shame you stopped though, I'd have gone to support you in your competitions.

Dear Kim,
I do see you as an expert of candies/sweets and hair dye. It seems to suit you.
And I would totally trust you to do my hair- even if you haven’t tried the spell before. I’m sure you would be able to fix it even if you mess up (I doubt you will though).
And we could try new colors and such! Maybe I will even do my whole head instead if just the tips… we could match!
As for negative emotions, that definitely makes sense. And I might have to take advantage of that and talk to you- that’s the hard part of being away from my family. I don’t have anyone to vent to.

Hah! Right.

It would be fun if we did our hair color to match! I'm looking forward to learning the hair color spell because I've never used it before. Muggle dyes are the only thing I've used, much to the dismay of both of my parents.

Venting is something I don't tend to do often. But I don't mind listening to other people. A lot of people back home told me I was a great listener, so feel free to bug me whenever. Unless it's early in the morning.

I still think Noah holds these meetings for the Goosebumps Club intentionally early on purpose.
