A good day PV Natasha Ivanovna Belikov Closed

It was a bit of a good day for Mae because today was the day she was going to meet a newer person. Granted it was a person she barely knew about but she thought they would get along quite nicely. The girl's name was Natasha Ivanovna Belikov which was a nice name to Mae. Mae had no clue what she had looked like but had heard her name around the castle and may have seen her a few times but never have known. It interested Mae a little bit to see who she was, so she decided to owl her and it went on for about a day or two. The girl suggested they meet by the Great Lake, to which Mae had no issue as she had met some of her better friends here. Mae was heading out to the great lake once again to a spot she usually would go when out here. Once she got to the lake she comfortably sat down right next to the lake and looked out upon to rolling waters. After being at Hogwarts for a while she usually wouldn't get nerves as much but that wasn't the case especially for today. "Okay Mae, you have met many people and didn't get any nerves, that's not the case today, you know what Natasha is probably incredibly nice, that's why they may speak of her, if she wasn't nice why would they talk about her," Mae said for a quick speech to herself and to calm her nerves.

Natasha looked at the owl again to make sure she hadn’t misread. A fellow Ravenclaw is interested in her? What was there to be interested in? A small smile appeared on the young girl’s face. 3:00 at the Great Lake, the owl said. Looking at the time, Natasha realized it was already almost 3. Gripping the note tightly, she sprinted down from her common room. After the first set of stairs, she was already out of breath? Why were these stairs so confusing? she thought about her new hopeful friend. Mae, was it? She didn’t want to make a bad impression on the Ravenclaw. Come to think of it, Natasha couldn’t place a face on the name. She realized she hadn’t ever met Mae directly, therefore not knowing at all what she looked like. However, Mae Winters was a really nice name, so whoever it was was probably really pretty.

Rushing into the open grounds, she found a small clearing where a brunette girl was sitting in. The blonde walked closer, hoping that was Mae, and not some other student. She heard the girl whisper a few words to herself, something about calming her nerves. Now that the brunette mentioned it, Natasha realized what she was about to do. She was about to meet someone new, maybe even become friends with her. And no one had to force her to do it. Before she came to Hogwarts, Natasha was a shy, introverted girl. Now she was about to do this - something she would have never done before. With a subtle grin on her face, the blonde walked towards the sitting girl.

“Hey, um, I’m Natasha. Are you Mae Winters?” Natasha rubbed her arm, not wanting to embarrass herself if it wasn’t. Granted, the girl was wearing blue robes and there was no one else in the vicinity, the blonde couldn’t help but be afraid.

Mae continued to look at the water after giving her self a pep talk, which she believed to be ridiculous based on the fact that she had met people before. Since coming here she was always afraid to have met people it wasn't her cup of tea, then she met a girl who broke her out of her shell and she continued to meet more and more people. "Yeah I am fine, I can do this," she said looking around for someone in blue robes. No gryffindor, nope hufflepuff, another gryffindor. She thought o herself as she analyzed the general area. She turned around and continued to look at the water for a little bit that she barely even saw a girl come up from behind her "Hey, um I'm Natasha. Are you Mae Winters," the girl said. Mae turned to study the girl for a second. She had blue robes and blonde hair. "Yes I am," Mae said standing up to brush herself off. "It's so nice to finally meet you," she said with a smile. She held out her hand for the girl to shake it but she was unsure if she would or not seeing as they barely knew each other. Mae was certain that she was going to make a very good friend.

“It’s nice to finally meet you,” It’s nice to finally meet you, it’s nice to finally meet you, it’s nice to finally meet you. The words kept repeating themselves through Natasha’s ears. Why? Why was it nice to meet her? The blonde was excited to become friends with this girl. She was...interesting. She was so nice! No one else had been this kind to her since she even arrived at this school. She noticed Mae holding out for her hand and realized she should probably shake it. Grinning wildly, Natasha grabbed the girl’s hand and shook it up and down enthusiastically.

“You too! I am so happy that you reached out to me. No one’s ever done that, I don’t think.” Natasha rambled. “I know I definitely wouldn’t have owled another girl I didn’t even know, I’m not that brave. I guess that’s why I wasn’t sorted into Gryffindor.” The young blonde chuckled nervously, knowing she was talking way too much. She was just really nervous, and always babbled nonsense when she was anxious about something. There was one thing Natasha really wanted to know. This question has been nagging at her ever since Mae first owled her.

“I just have to know. Why did you reach out to me? Like, I mean, why me? Why not another Ravenclaw or any other student? Why specifically me? Sorry if I’m not making sense.” the first year awkwardly rubbed her arm. She had a habit of doing that whenever she was afraid to embarrass herself - a skill acquired over years of shyness practice.

The girl took Mae's hand and shook it up and down with a big grin. That was more or less a surprise to Mae, seeing as most people around here didn't like handshakes, and Mae was nervous but started to think this was going to go well. “You too! I am so happy that you reached out to me. No one’s ever done that, I don’t think.” Natasha said. Mae was starting to feel a bit embarrased at that point but she already knew that reaching out to someone she didn't know was going to be a bit awkward. “I know I definitely wouldn’t have owled another girl I didn’t even know, I’m not that brave. I guess that’s why I wasn’t sorted into Gryffindor.” she added with a chuckle. Mae never did have enough courage to do something like this but she was starting to see that doing so was more of a reward as Natasha seemed friendly. “I just have to know. Why did you reach out to me? Like, I mean, why me? Why not another Ravenclaw or any other student? Why specifically me? Sorry if I’m not making sense.” she said rubbing her arm. Mae knew as much that if she happened to reach out to someone she didn't know that well, these questions would be asked. "Well I think I have seen you in the halls a bit and I have heard about you, you seemed interesting so I was like 'mine as well send her an owl' and now here we are," Mae said with complete embarrasment on the inside and a mental facepalm, I bet she sounded incredibly weird, "But now meeting you, you seem incredibly nice," Mae said probably saving herself from the quite awkward last comment.

Mae's face turned red as she replied. "Well I think I have seen you in the halls a bit and I have heard about you, you seemed interesting so I was like 'might as well send her an owl' and now here we are, but now meeting you, you seem incredibly nice" Natasha smiled warmly at the girl's response. Natasha hesitated to come out here today earlier, but was glad she did. Her newfound friend seemed like an amazing person, and Natasha knew she needed some new, kind friends. Now that the girls got introductions over with, they were at a loss of conversation.

Natasha tugged at the blue sweater she wore under her robe. It was a first-day-at-Hogwarts gift from her Grandma, who loved to knit her oldest granddaughter clothes. Even though it was made of an itchy fabric, it was surprisingly comfortable and Natasha wore it almost everyday under her robes. She thought it was unfair that they had to wear robes - they were very uncomfortable, and Natasha couldn't show off her favorite sweater. The girl knew it would be cold out near the lake, so she decided to wear it. Or at least, that was the reason she convinced herself to believe. The truth was, the sweater had grown to be a safe place, something Natasha could crawl into to avoid situations she didn't want to be in. She knew she needed to stop being so introverted, but she just didn't have the courage to do what the girl standing in front of her did.

"So, uh, you're on the Quidditch team too, right? What position do you play?" the blonde straightened her back and bit her lip, hoping it wasn't rude of her to ask the position. I mean, she was on the same team as Natasha, shouldn't she know the position of a teammate?

Once Mae had given Natasha the reason why they were meeting up at that moment, Natasha smiled warmly. Mae took that as a good sign that they were become friends although now that the introduction was over they were more or less at a loss of conversation. Then Natasha asked "So, uh, you're on the Quidditch team too, right? What position do you play?" as she straightened herself. "Oh I'm actually a chaser substitute. Probably not as fun as being the actual thing," Mae said. She then asked "Oh are you on the team too?" she said as if it wasnt a bit to obvious to Mae. "Oh yeah which um position to you play? Your probably not a substitute, like me" Mae said with a smile and a bit of a giggle. It should've been more obvious to Mae if she was on the team or not but she thought she made it awkward. They did have a bit to talk about since Mae asked a bunch of questions but she thought that she should get to know her a bit better with one more question. "So why do you think you got into Ravenclaw?" she asked pointing to the girls robes.

ahhh i'm so sorry it took me so long to reply! i kinda went mia but i'm back now, for good i think <3

THE two seemed to be getting along quite well. Nothing was too weird, or too awkward; the conversation never ran out, and for that, Natasha was grateful. She didn't think she could handle keeping up the conversation as well as meeting a new girl - that kind of social stress was too much for her to handle in one day. Thus, she mentally thanked Mae for coming up with various questions and methods to keep the conversation going.

QUIDDITCH was always something Natasha loved. She loved both talking about it and playing it, and whenever someone brought it up - she would be more than happy to rant about it for hours. However, she didn't think that Mae could handle Tasha for a few hours... so instead, she simply decided to answer Mae's question and move on to a different topic.

"COME on, I bet being a sub is fun too!" the blonde girl said enthusiastically. "Something is better than nothing, no? And yes, I am on the team too. I play Beater... still shocked that I actually got into the team, but I'm happy!"

TASHA fell silent for a moment, thinking that she had been too obnoxious by maybe rubbing the fact that she was on the team in the other's face. She watched the other girl nervously, wanting to gouge her reaction, but nothing bad seemed to happen. Instead, Mae only asked about why she got into Ravenclaw. "Well I mean, I couldn't be in any other house... I'm not brave like a Gryffindor, cunning like a Slytherin... though I guess I am loyal, so maybe a Hufflepuff. But no, I kind of asked the hat to put me into Ravenclaw 'cause I love riddles and - this may make me sound dorky - I love spending time in the library! And reading... and studying... Is that weird? Why do you think you got into Ravenclaw?"

HERE she was again, rambling. Tasha couldn't really couldn't stop herself; she kept talking and talking and talking. Her accent had taken a back burner, so the only thing noticeable was how much she rolled her r's. Whenever she got too comfortable with someone, this happened - she would start rambling about God knows what, but she couldn't stop it. She only hoped she wouldn't scare Mae away.

"COME on, I bet being a sub is fun too!" Natasha said to Mae. She thought it was nice that she was including substitutes in as well. To be fair they did play just as an important role. "Something is better than nothing, no? And yes, I am on the team too. I play Beater... still shocked that I actually got into the team, but I'm happy!" what Natasha was saying was true so Mae thought that she should stop worrying so much about her role on the team. Mae noticed Natasha fall silent for a bit, as if she was wandering off into a bit of a gaze until she continued on "Well I mean, I couldn't be in any other house... Why do you think you got into Ravenclaw?" what she had said made Mae think a little bit, she was kind of happy being in Ravenclaw. Yes, she wasn't an O+ student but she believed she was doing her best. "I guess your right, sub's do play an important part, we do need to be there if a player gets injured," Mae said continuing on "To be fair, I do like being in Ravenclaw, I am for sure not cunning or brave whatsoever, and I don't think your dorky, yes riddles aren't my strong suit but I love the library too," Mae said rambling a bit "Well okay I'm not a O+ student either and I could work on my studying a bit, but I believe there is more to Ravenclaw than just book smarts,"  Mae said tilting her head. She felt like she was getting to become way more comfortable with Natasha, and kind of felt like she was making a new friend.
