Dearest Valerius,
I am sorry to disturb you out of the blue, I know you are already burdened with enough stress at work without needing to answer a request as well. Seeing you this last summer has reminded me how much I miss spending time with you. It was such a short visit, and all I did was talk about myself. I would like to hear more about you, and how you're doing. I understand if writing a letter would be too much, I would not hold it against you, and yet I plan to ask more of you. I want to steal more of your time away, and ask that you act as my guardian over the upcoming Easter holiday.
In short, I have made it a habit to spend the holidays at Hogwarts. At first I did it out of instinct, but now I know that the mansion makes me uncomfortable. I don't want to go home, but I'm also not looking forward to spending two weeks staring at the same empty halls everyday, just reading to pass the time. If you would have me as a guest in London, I would promise not to interrupt your work. If possible, I could try to help around the flat. I hope you understand that I am aware of how much of an imposition this is, and it is not my intention to take advantage of your hospitality.
That said, it would mean the world to me if you'd accept my intrusion. Things have been difficult at school and at home, and I could really use the change of pace.

It's nice to hear from you, you don't need to be so formal though. I know you haven't sent me a letter before, but I'm still just your brother. I promise I won't bite your head off if you are not as perfectly proper as possible. I can see the effect Mari has had on you, it reads like an official document from the business.
Jokes aside, I am sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. I'm glad you reached out, because I'm glad to have the opportunity to help. Still, there are some things you should know before you idealize the life of a Ministry worker. London is an expensive city, so my flat may be a tad more byte-sized than you were imagining. If you'd like to spend your holidays with me, I will gladly have you, but I do not have a spare bedroom I can offer you. It will be the couch or a futon, so consider that while you're deliberating.
I do work most days, a good sixty hours a week if I'm lucky, and of course it always follows me home. I know you're always perfect company though, and I'm sure I would benefit from someone putting the kettle on for me once or twice. I can't say I'll be able to show you around much, but we could play some board games or catch up. I think that would be lovely.
Until I hear back from you, please take care. If not my flat, perhaps I could find you a hotel room for the duration. Admittedly I would have to ask Mari for the funds, but I think she would see it as a fitting expenditure. You just say the word, alright?

Thank you, thank you so much. This has lifted my spirits greatly already, I'm looking forward to seeing you. I almost wish I would have waited longer so I wouldn't have to wait so long until break. You don't have to ask Mari anything, just pick me up at King's Station on the 10th of April and I'll sleep on the floor if I must. Though I suppose I should mention I've been getting bad sleep lately, I might toss a bit but it's nothing to worry about. Just tell me if there's anything you need or want, I will be insufferably accommodating.
I was also wondering if one day we could stop by Diagon Alley where the menagerie is. I was thinking about getting a pet, I heard their companionship can be good for your mental health. Is that true, what are your thoughts? You don't have to tell me now, but also, remind me to tell you about my last Quidditch game. If you aren't too busy. Even if I only see a bit of you, I'm grateful.
